Structure and geometry of the tableaux algebra
We study the monoid algebra ${}_{n}\mathcal{T}_{m}$ of semistandard Young tableaux, which coincides with the Gelfand--Tsetlin semigroup ring $\mathcal{GT}_{n}$ when $m = n$. Among others, we show that this algebra is commutative, Noetherian, reduced, Koszul, and Cohen--Macaulay. We provide a complete classification of its maximal ideals and compute the topology of its maximal spectrum. Furthermore, we classify its irreducible modules and provide a faithful semisimple representation. We also establish that its associated variety coincides with a toric degeneration of certain partial flag varieties constructed by Gonciulea--Lakshmibai. As an application, we show that this algebra yields injective embeddings of $\mathfrak{sl}_n$-crystals, extending a result of Bossinger--Torres.
Unveiling Crystal Embeddings: New Perspectives on String Polytopes and Atomic Decompositions
We present n-1 different embeddings of string polytopes of type A. We characterize their compatibility with the crystal structure on the string polytopes, and formulate a conjecture describing how to obtain n-1 different atomic decompositions of the crystal with highest weight a multiple of the highest root.
The branching models of Kwon and Sundaram via flagged hives
We prove a bijection between the branching models of Kwon and Sundaram, conjectured previously by Lenart-Lecouvey. To do so, we use a symmetry of Littlewood-Richardson coefficients in terms of the hive model. Along the way, we obtain a new branching model in terms of flagged hives.
Keys and Evacuation via Virtualization
In this paper, we study the relation between the key map and virtualization of crystals. Namely, we prove that virtualization between crystals in any two finite Cartan types commutes with the left and right key maps, thus embedding Demazure crystals and atoms correspondingly. In particular, this implies that the key map in any finite Cartan type can be reduced to the key map in a simply-laced type, provided an appropriate virtualization exists, generalizing the work of Azenhas--Santos. As an application, we study these maps in the context of orthogonal Kashiwara--Nakashima tableaux and show that the virtualizations from type B into C considered independently by Fujita and Pappe--Pfannerer--Schilling--Simone coincide with the splitting map of De Concini and Lecouvey. As a consequence, this enables us to give a new and purely combinatorial definition of orthogonal evacuation.
Atoms and charge in type $C_2$
We construct atomic decompositions for crystals of type $C_{2}$ and define a charge statistic on them, thus providing positive combinatorial formulas for Kostka-Foulkes polynomials associated to them together with a natural geometric interpretation.
The virtual cactus group and Littelmann paths
We define a virtual cactus group and show that the cactus group action on Littelmann paths is compatible with the virtualization map defined by Pan-Scrimshaw \cite{PS18}. Our definition generalizes the group with the same name defined for the symplectic Lie algebra by the author in joint work with O. Azenhas and M. Tarighat-Feller.

We explicitly realize an internal action of the symplectic cactus group, recently defined by Halacheva for any complex, reductive, finite-dimensional Lie algebra, on crystals of Kashiwara-Nakashima tableaux. Our methods include a symplectic version of jeu de taquin due to Sheats and Lecouvey, symplectic reversal, and virtualization due to Baker. As an application, we define and study a symplectic version of the Berenstein-Kirillov group and show that it is a quotient of the symplectic cactus group. In addition two relations for symplectic Berenstein-Kirillov group are given that do not follow from the defining relations of the symplectic cactus group.

We prove a conjecture of Lecouvey, which proposes a closed, positive combinatorial formula for symplectic Kostka-Foulkes polynomials, in the case of rows of arbitrary weight. To show this, we construct a new algorithm for computing cocyclage in terms of which the conjecture is described. Our algorithm is free of local constraints, which were the main obstacle in Lecouvey's original construction. In particular, we show that our model is governed by the situation in type A. This approach works for arbitrary weight and we expect it to lead to a proof of the conjecture in full generality.
On Sundaram's full bijection
We highlight refinement of a bijection given by Sheila Sundaram in her PhD thesis. The framework allows for comparison to a late conjecture of Naito-Sagaki. We give an injection of the set of dominant paths for this model into the corresponding set of Littlewood-Richardson Sundaram tableaux, which is not surjective. We relate this to the refinement of the aforementioned bijection.

We prove a conjecture of Naito-Sagaki about a branching rule for the restriction of irreducible representations of $\mathfrak{sl}(2n,\mathbb{C})$ to $\mathfrak{sp}(2n,\mathbb{C})$. The conjecture is in terms of certain Littelmann paths, with the embedding given by the folding of the type $A_{2n-1}$ Dynkin diagram.

We prove a special case of a conjecture of Naito-Sagaki about a branching rule for the restriction of irreducible representations of $\mathfrak{sl}(2n,\mathbb{C})$ to $\mathfrak{sp}(2n,\mathbb{C})$. The conjecture is in terms of certain Littelmann paths, with the embedding given by the folding of the type $A_{2n-1}$ Dynkin diagram. We propose and motivate an approach to the conjecture in general, in terms of Littlewood-Richardson Sundaram tableaux.

We study cells in generalised Bott-Samelson varieties for type C. These cells are parametrised by certain galleries in the affine building. We define a set of readable galleries - we show that the closure in the affine Grassmannian associated to a gallery in this set is an MV cycle. This then defines a map from the set of readable galeries to the set of MV cycles, which we show to be a morphism of crystals. We further compute the fibres of this map in terms of the Littelmann path model.

We observe that word reading is a crystal morphism. This leads us to prove that, in the case of the complex special linear group, the map from all galleries to MV cycles is a morphism of crystals.
