Symmetric tensor powers of graphs
The symmetric tensor power of graphs is introduced and its fundamental properties are explored. A wide range of intriguing phenomena occur when one considers symmetric tensor powers of familiar graphs. A host of open questions are presented, hoping to spur future research.
On the $r$-Derangements of type B
Extensions of a set partition obtained by imposing bounds on the size of the parts and the coloring of some of the elements are examined. Combinatorial properties and the generating functions of some counting sequences associated with these partitions are established. Connections with Riordan arrays are presented.
Combinatorial and Arithmetical Properties of the Restricted and Associated Bell and Factorial Numbers

Set partitions and permutations with restrictions on the size of the blocks and cycles are important combinatorial sequences. Counting these objects lead to the sequences generalizing the classical Stirling and Bell numbers. The main focus of the present article is the analysis of combinatorial and arithmetical properties of them. The results include several combinatorial identities and recurrences as well as some properties of their $p$-adic valuations.
Modified Nörlund polynomials

The modified Bernoulli numbers $B_{n}^{*}$ considered by Zagier are generalized to modified Nörlund polynomials ${B_{n}^{(\ell)*}}$. For $\ell\in\mathbb{N}$, an explicit expression for the generating function for these polynomials is obtained. Evaluations of some spectacular integrals involving Chebyshev polynomials, and of a finite sum involving integrals of the Hurwitz zeta function are also obtained. New results about the $\ell$-fold convolution of the square hyperbolic secant distribution are obtained, such as a differential-difference equation satisfied by a logarithmic moment and a closed-form expression in terms of the Barnes zeta function.

Any permutation has a disjoint cycle decomposition and concept generates an equivalence class on the symmetry group called the cycle-type. The main focus of this work is on permutations of restricted cycle-types, with particular emphasis on the special class of involutions and their partial sums. The paper provides generating functions, determinantal expressions, asymptotic estimates as well as arithmetic and combinatorial properties.
Generalized Fibonacci polynomials and Fibonomial coefficients

The focus of this paper is the study of generalized Fibonacci polynomials and Fibonomial coefficients. The former are polynomials {n} in variables s and t given by {0} = 0, {1} = 1, and {n} = s{n-1}+t{n-2} for n ge 2. The latter are defined by {n choose k} = {n}!/({k}!{n-k}!) where {n}! = {1}{2}...{n}. These quotients are also polynomials in s and t, and specializations give the ordinary binomial coefficients, the Fibonomial coefficients, and the q-binomial coefficients. We present some of their fundamental properties, including a more general recursion for {n}, an analogue of the binomial theorem, a new proof of the Euler-Cassini identity in this setting with applications to estimation of tails of series, and valuations when s and t take on integral values. We also study a corresponding analogue of the Catalan numbers. Conjectures and open problems are scattered throughout the paper.

Classical binomial identities are established by giving probabilistic interpretations to the summands. The examples include Vandermonde identity and some generalizations.

This paper introduces the concept of necklace binomial coefficients motivated by the enumeration of a special type of sequences. Several properties of these coefficients are described, including a connection between their roots and an elliptic curve. Further links are given to a physical model from quantum mechanical supersymmetry as well as properties of alkane molecules in chemistry.

One of the earliest examples of analytic representations for $π$ is given by an infinite product provided by Wallis in 1655. The modern literature often presents this evaluation based on the integral formula $$ \frac{2}π \int_0^\infty \frac{dx}{(x^2+1)^{n+1}} = \frac{1}{2^{2n}} \binom{2n}{n}. $$ In trying to understand the behavior of this integral when the integrand is replaced by the inverse of a product of distinct quadratic factors, the authors encounter relations to some formulas of Ramanujan, expressions involving Schur functions, and Matsubara sums that have appeared in the context of Feynman diagrams.
The p-adic valuations of sequences counting alternating sign matrices
The p-adic valuations of a sequence of integers T(n) counting alternating sign matrices is examined for p=2 and p=3. Symmetry properties of their graphs produce a new proof of the result that characterizes the indices for which T(n) is odd.

A survey of properties of a sequence of coefficients appearing in the evaluation of a quartic definite integral is presented. These properties are of analytical, combinatorial and number-theoretical nature.

The coefficients c(n,k) defined by (1-k^2x)^(-1/k) = sum c(n,k) x^n reduce to the central binomial coefficients for k=2. Motivated by a question of H. Montgomery and H. Shapiro for the case k=3, we prove that c(n,k) are integers and study their divisibility properties.

We analyze properties of the 2-adic valuations of an integer sequence that originates from an explicit evaluation of a quartic integral. We also give a combinatorial interpretation of the valuations of this sequence. Connections with the orbits arising from the Collatz (3x+1) problem are discussed.
