A pancyclic graph is a graph that contains cycles of all possible lengths from three up to the number of vertices in the graph. In this paper, we establish some new sufficient conditions for a graph to be pancyclic in terms of the edge number, the spectral radius and the signless Laplacian spectral radius of the graph.

The packing chromatic number $χ_ρ(G)$ of a graph $G$ is the smallest integer $c$ such that the vertex set $V(G)$ can be partitioned into sets $X_1, . . . , X_c$, with the condition that vertices in $X_i$ have pairwise distance greater than $i$. In this paper, we consider the packing chromatic number of several families of Sierpinski-type graphs. We establish the packing chromatic numbers of generalized Sierpinski graphs $S^n_G$ where $G$ is a path or a cycle (with exception of a cycle of length five) as well as a connected graph of order four. Furthermore, we prove that the packing chromatic number in the family of Sierpinski-triangle graphs $ST_4^n$ is bounded from above by 20.
Perfect weak modular product graphs
In this paper we enumerate the necessary and sufficient conditions for the weak modular product of two simple graphs to be perfect. The weak modular product differs from the direct product by also encoding non-adjacencies of the factor graphs in its edges. This work is motivated by the following: a 1978 theorem of Kozen states that two graphs on $n$ vertices are isomorphic if and only if there is a clique of size $n$ in the weak modular product between the two graphs. Furthermore, a straightforward corollary of Kozen's theorem and Lovász's sandwich theorem is if the weak modular product between two graphs is perfect, then checking if the graphs are isomorphic is polynomial in $n$. Interesting cases include complete multipartite graphs and disjoint unions of cliques. All perfect weak modular products have factors that fall into classes of graphs for which testing isomorphism is already known to be polynomial in the number of vertices.

We introduce moduli spaces of colored graphs, defined as spaces of non-degenerate metrics on certain families of edge-colored graphs. Apart from fixing the rank and number of legs these families are determined by various conditions on the coloring of their graphs. The motivation for this is to study Feynman integrals in quantum field theory using the combinatorial structure of these moduli spaces. Here a family of graphs is specified by the allowed Feynman diagrams in a particular quantum field theory such as (massive) scalar fields or quantum electrodynamics. The resulting spaces are cell complexes with a rich and interesting combinatorial structure. We treat some examples in detail and discuss their topological properties, connectivity and homology groups.

In this paper we will show that there does not exist a distance-regular graph $Γ$ with intersection array $\{80, 54,12; 1, 6, 60\}$. We first show that a local graph $Δ$ of $Γ$ does not contain a coclique with 5 vertices, and then we prove that the graph $Γ$ is geometric by showing that $Δ$ consists of 4 disjoint cliques with 20 vertices. Then we apply a result of Koolen and Bang to the graph $Γ$, and we could obtain that there is no such a distance-regular graph.

Let $G = (V,E)$ be a simple graph and let $\{R,B\}$ be a partition of $E$. We prove that whenever $|E| + \min\{ |R|, |B| \} > { |V| \choose 2 }$, there exists a subgraph of $G$ isomorphic to $K_3$ which contains edges from both $R$ and $B$. We conjecture a natural generalization to partitions with more blocks.

Given a graph $G$ and a positive integer $k$, define the \emph{Gallai-Ramsey number} to be the minimum number of vertices $n$ such that any $k$-edge coloring of $K_n$ contains either a rainbow (all different colored) triangle or a monochromatic copy of $G$. In this paper, we consider two classes of unicyclic graphs, the star with an extra edge and the path with a triangle at one end. We provide the $2$-color Ramsey numbers for these two classes of graphs and use these to obtain general upper and lower bounds on the Gallai-Ramsey numbers.
On some distance-regular graphs with many vertices
We construct distance-regular graphs, including strongly regular graphs, admitting a transitive action of the Chevalley groups $G_2(4)$ and $G_2(5)$, the orthogonal group $O(7,3)$ and the Tits group $T=$$^2F_4(2)'$. Most of the constructed graphs have more than 1000 vertices, and the number of vertices goes up to 28431. Some of the obtained graphs are new.

A shelling of a graph, viewed as an abstract simplicial complex that is pure of dimension 1, is an ordering of its edges such that every edge is adjacent to some other edges appeared previously. In this paper, we focus on complete bipartite graphs and trees. For complete bipartite graphs, we obtain an exact formula for their shelling numbers. And for trees, we relate their shelling numbers to linear extensions of tree posets and bound shelling numbers using vertex degrees and diameter.

An independent broadcast on a connected graph $G$ is a function $f:V(G)\to \mathbb{N}_0$ such that, for every vertex $x$ of $G$, the value $f(x)$ is at most the eccentricity of $x$ in $G$, and $f(x)>0$ implies that $f(y)=0$ for every vertex $y$ of $G$ within distance at most $f(x)$ from $x$. The broadcast independence number $α_b(G)$ of $G$ is the largest weight $\sum\limits_{x\in V(G)}f(x)$ of an independent broadcast $f$ on $G$. Clearly, $α_b(G)$ is at least the independence number $α(G)$ for every connected graph $G$. Our main result implies $α_b(G)\leq 4α(G)$. We prove a tight inequality and characterize all extremal graphs.

A cycle of length $t$ in a hypergraph is an alternating sequence $v_1,e_1,v_2\dots,v_t,e_t$ of distinct vertices $v_i$ and distinct edges $e_i$ so that $\{v_i,v_{i+1}\}\subseteq e_i$ (with $v_{t+1}:=v_1$). Let $λK_n^h$ be the $λ$-fold $n$-vertex complete $h$-graph. Let $\mathcal G=(V,E)$ be a hypergraph all of whose edges are of size at least $h$, and $2\leq c_1\leq \dots\leq c_k\leq |V|$. In order to partition the edge set of $\mathcal G$ into cycles of specified lengths $c_1, \dots, c_k$, an obvious necessary condition is that $\sum_{i=1}^k c_i=|E|$. We show that this condition is sufficient in the following cases:
(i) $h\geq \max\{c_k, \lceil n/2 \rceil+1\}$;
(ii) $\mathcal G=λK_n^h$, $h\geq \lceil n/2 \rceil+2$;
(iii) $\mathcal G=K_n^h$, $c_1= \dots=c_k:=c$, $c|n(n-1), n\geq 85$.
In (ii), we guarantee that each cycle is almost regular. In (iii), we also solve the case where a "small" subset $L$ of edges of $K_n^h$ is removed.

We construct new resolvable decompositions of complete multigraphs and complete equipartite multigraphs into cycles of variable lengths (and a perfect matching if the vertex degrees are odd). We develop two techniques: {\em layering}, which allows us to obtain 2-factorizations of complete multigraphs from existing 2-factorizations of complete graphs, and {\em detachment}, which allows us to construct resolvable cycle decompositions of complete equipartite multigraphs from existing resolvable cycle decompositions of complete multigraphs. These techniques are applied to obtain new 2-factorizations of a specified type for both complete multigraphs and complete equipartite multigraphs, with the emphasis on new solutions to the Oberwolfach Problem and the Hamilton-Waterloo Problem. In addition, we show existence of some $α$-resolvable cycle decompositions.
Note on 3-Choosability of Planar Graphs with Maximum Degree 4

Deciding whether a planar graph (even of maximum degree $4$) is $3$-colorable is NP-complete. Determining subclasses of planar graphs being $3$-colorable has a long history, but since Grötzsch's result that triangle-free planar graphs are such, most of the effort was focused to solving Havel's and Steinberg's conjectures. In this paper, we prove that every planar graph of maximum degree $4$ obtained as a subgraph of the medial graph of any bipartite plane graph is $3$-choosable. These graphs are allowed to have close triangles (even incident), and have no short cycles forbidden, hence representing an entirely different class than the graphs inferred by the above mentioned conjectures.

Let $H$ be a graph allowing loops as well as vertex and edge weights. We prove that, for every triangle-free graph $G$ without isolated vertices, the weighted number of graph homomorphisms $\hom(G, H)$ satisfies the inequality \[ \hom(G, H ) \le \prod_{uv \in E(G)} \hom(K_{d_u,d_v}, H )^{1/(d_ud_v)}, \] where $d_u$ denotes the degree of vertex $u$ in $G$. In particular, one has \[ \hom(G, H )^{1/|E(G)|} \le \hom(K_{d,d}, H )^{1/d^2} \] for every $d$-regular triangle-free $G$. The triangle-free hypothesis on $G$ is best possible. More generally, we prove a graphical Brascamp-Lieb type inequality, where every edge of $G$ is assigned some two-variable function. These inequalities imply tight upper bounds on the partition function of various statistical models such as the Ising and Potts models, which includes independent sets and graph colorings.
For graph colorings, corresponding to $H = K_q$, we show that the triangle-free hypothesis on $G$ may be dropped; this is also valid if some of the vertices of $K_q$ are looped. A corollary is that among $d$-regular graphs, $G = K_{d,d}$ maximizes the quantity $c_q(G)^{1/|V(G)|}$ for every $q$ and $d$, where $c_q(G)$ counts proper $q$-colorings of $G$.
Finally, we show that if the edge-weight matrix of $H$ is positive semidefinite, then \[ \hom(G, H) \le \prod_{v \in V(G)} \hom(K_{d_v+1}, H )^{1/(d_v+1)}. \] This implies that among $d$-regular graphs, $G = K_{d+1}$ maximizes $\hom(G, H)^{1/|V(G)|}$. For 2-spin Ising models, our results give a complete characterization of extremal graphs: complete bipartite graphs maximize the partition function of 2-spin antiferromagnetic models and cliques maximize the partition function of ferromagnetic models.
These results settle a number of conjectures by Galvin-Tetali, Galvin, and Cohen-Csikvári-Perkins-Tetali, and provide an alternate proof to a conjecture by Kahn.

It is known that $α(G)\leq α_b(G)\leq 4α(G)$ for every connected graph $G$, where $α(G)$ is the independence number of $G$. If $G$ has girth $g$ and minimum degree $δ$, we show that $α_b(G)\leq 2α(G)$ provided that $g\geq 6$ and $δ\geq 3$ or that $g\geq 4$ and $δ\geq 5$. Furthermore, we show that, for every positive integer $k$, there is a connected graph $G$ of girth at least $k$ and minimum degree at least $k$ such that $α_b(G)\geq 2\left(1-\frac{1}{k}\right)α(G)$. Our results imply that lower bounds on the girth and the minimum degree of a connected graph $G$ can lower the fraction $\frac{α_b(G)}{α(G)}$ from $4$ below $2$, but not any further.

Given a fixed graph H, what is the (exponentially small) probability that the number X_H of copies of H in the binomial random graph G_{n,p} is at least twice its mean? Studied intensively since the mid 1990s, this so-called infamous upper tail problem remains a challenging testbed for concentration inequalities. In 2011 DeMarco and Kahn formulated an intriguing conjecture about the exponential rate of decay of \Pr(X_H \ge (1+ε) \E X_H) for fixed ε>0. We show that this upper tail conjecture is false, by exhibiting an infinite family of graphs violating the conjectured bound.
Chip-Firing and Fractional Bases
We study a particular chip-firing process on an infinite path graph. At any time when there are at least $a+b$ chips at a vertex, $a$ chips fire to the left and $b$ chips fire to the right. We describe the final state of this process when we start with $n$ chips at the origin.
The Combinatorial Data Fusion Problem in Conflicted-supervised Learning
The best merge problem in industrial data science generates instances where disparate data sources place incompatible relational structures on the same set $V$ of objects. Graph vertex labelling data may include (1) missing or erroneous labels,(2) assertions that two vertices carry the same (unspecified) label, and (3) denying some subset of vertices from carrying the same label. Conflicted-supervised learning applies to cases where no labelling scheme satisfies (1), (2), and (3). Our rigorous formulation starts from a connected weighted graph $(V, E)$, and an independence system $\mathcal{S}$ on $V$, characterized by its circuits, called forbidden sets. Global incompatibility is expressed by the fact $V \notin \mathcal{S}$. Combinatorial data fusion seeks a subset $E_1 \subset E$ of maximum edge weight so that no vertex component of the subgraph $(V, E_1)$ contains any forbidden set. Multicut and multiway cut are special cases where all forbidden sets have cardinality two. The general case exhibits unintuitive properties, shown in counterexamples. The first in a series of papers concentrates on cases where $(V, E)$ is a tree, and presents an algorithm on general graphs, in which the combinatorial data fusion problem is transferred to the Gomory-Hu tree, where it is solved using greedy set cover. Experimental results are given.

Let $\mathcal{A}\subseteq{[n]\choose a}$ and $\mathcal{B}\subseteq{[n]\choose b}$ be two families of subsets of $[n]$, we say $\mathcal{A}$ and $\mathcal{B}$ are cross-intersecting if $A\cap B\neq \emptyset$ for all $A\in\mathcal{A}$, $B\in\mathcal{B}$. In this paper, we study cross-intersecting families in the multi-part setting. By characterizing the independent sets of vertex-transitive graphs and their direct products, we determine the sizes and structures of maximum-sized multi-part cross-intersecting families. This generalizes the results of Hilton's and Frankl--Tohushige's on cross-intersecting families in the single-part setting.

We discuss the Grassmann graph $J_q(N,D)$ with $N \geq 2D$, having as vertices the $D$-dimensional subspaces of an $N$-dimensional vector space over the finite field $\mathbb{F}_q$. This graph is distance-regular with diameter $D$; to avoid trivialities we assume $D\geq 3$. Fix a pair of a Delsarte clique $C$ of $J_q(N,D)$ and a vertex $x$ in $C$. We construct a $2D$-dimensional irreducible module $\mathbf{W}$ for the Terwilliger algebra $\mathbf{T}$ of $J_q(N,D)$ associated with the pair $x$, $C$. We show that $\mathbf{W}$ is an irreducible module for the confluent Cherednik algebra $\mathcal{H}_\mathrm{V}$ and describe how the $\mathbf{T}$-action on $\mathbf{W}$ is related to the $\mathcal{H}_\mathrm{V}$-action on $\mathbf{W}$. Using the $\mathcal{H}_\mathrm{V}$-module $\mathbf{W}$, we define non-symmetric dual $q$-Hahn polynomials and prove their recurrence and orthogonality relations from a combinatorial viewpoint.
