A combinatorial simplicial cone decomposition
This paper introduces an algebraic combinatorial approach to simplicial cone decompositions, a key step in solving inhomogeneous linear Diophantine systems and counting lattice points in polytopes. We use constant term manipulation on the system \( Aα= \mathbf{b} \), where \( A \) is an \( r \times n \) integral matrix and \( \mathbf{b} \) is an integral vector. We establish a relationship between special constant terms and shifted simplicial cones. This leads to the \texttt{SimpCone[S]} algorithm, which efficiently decomposes polyhedra into simplicial cones. Unlike traditional geometric triangulation methods, this algorithm is versatile for many choices of the strategy \( \texttt{S} \) and can also be applied to parametric polyhedra. The algorithm is useful for efficient volume computation of polytopes and can be applied to address various new research projects. Additionally, we apply our framework to unimodular cone decompositions. This extends the effectiveness of the newly developed \texttt{DecDenu} algorithm from denumerant cones to general simplicial cones.

Big convex polytopes or rich hyperplanes
For natural numbers $n$ and $l > d \geq 2$, let $ES_d(l,n)$ be the minimum $N$ such that any set of at least $N$ points in $\mathbb{R}^d$ contains either $l$ points contained in a common $(d-1)$-dimensional hyperplane or $n$ points in convex position. In this paper, we give the upper and lower bounds for $ES_d(l,n)$.

IDP for 2-Partition Maximal Symmetric Polytopes
We provide a framework for which one can approach showing the integer decomposition property for symmetric polytopes. We utilize this framework to prove a special case which we refer to as $2$-partition maximal polytopes in the case where it lies in a hyperplane of $\mathbb{R}^3$. Our method involves proving a special collection of polynomials have saturated Newton polytope.

Fundamental polytope for the isometry group of an alcove
A fundamental alcove $\mathcal{A}$ is a tile in a paving of a vector space $V$ by an affine reflection group $W_{\mathrm{aff}}$. Its geometry encodes essential features of $W_{\mathrm{aff}}$, such as its affine Dynkin diagram $\widetilde{D}$ and fundamental group $Ω$. In this article we investigate its full isometry group $\mathrm{Aut}(\mathcal{A})$. It is well known that the isometry group of a regular polyhedron is generated by hyperplane reflections on its faces. Being a simplex, an alcove $\mathcal{A}$ is the simplest of polyhedra, nevertheless it is seldom a regular one. In our first main result we show that $\mathrm{Aut}(\mathcal{A})$ is isomorphic to $\mathrm{Aut}(\widetilde{D})$. Building on this connection, we establish that $\mathrm{Aut}(\mathcal{A})$ is an abstract Coxeter group, with generators given by affine isometric involutions of the ambient space. Although these involutions are seldom reflections, our second main result leverages them to construct, by slicing the Komrakov--Premet fundamental polytope $\mathcal{K}$ for the action of $Ω$, a family of fundamental polytopes for the action of $\mathrm{Aut}(\mathcal{A})$ on $\mathcal{A}$, whose vertices are contained in the vertices of $\mathcal{K}$ and whose faces are parametrized by the so-called balanced minuscule roots, which we introduce here. In an appendix, we discuss some related negative results on stratified centralizers and equivariant triangulations.

Abstract Regular Polytopes of Finite Irreducible Coxeter Groups
Here, for $W$ the Coxeter group $\mathrm{D}_n$ where $n > 4$, it is proved that the maximal rank of an abstract regular polytope for $W$ is $n - 1$ if $n$ is even and $n$ if $n$ is odd. Further it is shown that $W$ has abstract regular polytopes of rank $r$ for all $r$ such that $3 \leq r \leq n - 1$, if $n$ is even, and $3 \leq r \leq n$, if $n$ is odd. The possible ranks of abstract regular polytopes for the exceptional finite irreducible Coxeter groups are also determined.

Average-sized miniatures and normal-sized miniatures of lattice polytopes
Let $d \geq 0$ be an integer and $P \subset \mathbb R^d$ be a $d$-dimensional lattice polytope. We call a polytope $M \subset \mathbb R^d$ such that $M \subset P$ and $M \sim P$ a miniature of $P,$ and it is said to be horizontal if $M$ is transformed into $P$ by translating and rescaling. A miniature $M$ of $P$ is said to be average-sized (resp. normal-sized) if the volume of $M$ is equal to the limit of the sequence whose $n$-th term is the average of the volumes of all miniarures (resp. all horizontal miniatures) whose vertices belong to $(\mathbb Z[1/n])^d.$ We prove that, for any lattice square $P \subset \mathbb R^2,$ the ratio of the areas of an average-sized miniature of $P$ and $P$ is $2:15.$ We also prove that, for any lattice simplex $P \subset \mathbb R^d,$ the ratio of the volumes of a normal-sized miniature of $P$ and $P$ is $1:\binom{2d+1}{d}.$ This ratio is the same as the known result for the hypercube $[0,1]^d$ provided by the author.

On the extremal number of incidence graphs
Given a graph $H$ and a natural number $n$, the extremal number $\mathrm{ex}(n, H)$ is the largest number of edges in an $n$-vertex graph containing no copy of $H$. In this paper, we obtain a general upper bound for the extremal number of generalised face-incidence graphs, a family which includes the standard face-incidence graphs of regular polytopes. This builds on and generalises work of Janzer and Sudakov, who obtained the same bound for hypercubes and bipartite Kneser graphs, and allows us to confirm a conjecture of Conlon and Lee on the extremal number of $K_{r,r}$-free bipartite graphs for certain incidence graphs. In their work, Janzer and Sudakov showed that such an upper bound on the extremal number holds whenever the graph $H$ satisfies a certain percolation property which captures an appropriate sequence of repeated applications of the Cauchy--Schwarz inequality, a property which they then verify for hypercubes and bipartite Kneser graphs. This percolation property bears close resemblance to a property that arose in earlier work of Conlon and Lee on weakly norming graphs. In this latter work, Conlon and Lee developed a method for controlling repeated applications of the Cauchy--Schwarz inequality based on the properties of reflection groups, which then allowed them to isolate a broad family of weakly norming graphs. Here, we develop this method further, casting it in a purely algebraic form that allows us not only to combine it with the Janzer--Sudakov result and obtain the desired result about the extremal number of incidence graphs, but also to simplify the proofs of both the Conlon--Lee result on weakly norming graphs and a related result of Coregliano.

Chromatic numbers, Buchstaber numbers and chordality of Bier spheres
We describe all the Bier spheres of dimension $d$ with chromatic number equal to $d+1$ and prove that all other $d$-dimensional Bier spheres have chromatic number equal to $d+2$, for any integer $d\geq 0$. Then we prove a general formula for complex and mod $p$ Buchstaber numbers of a Bier sphere $\mathrm{Bier}(K)$, for each prime $p\in\mathbb N$ in terms of the $f$-vector of the underlying simplicial complex $K$. Finally, we classify all chordal Bier spheres and obtain their canonical realizations as boundaries of stacked polytopes.

Oriented Matroid Circuit Polytopes
Matroids give rise to several natural constructions of polytopes. Inspired by this, we examine polytopes that arise from the signed circuits of an oriented matroid. We give the dimensions of these polytopes arising from graphical oriented matroids and their duals. Moreover, we consider polytopes constructed from cocircuits of oriented matroids generated by the positive roots in any type A root system. We give an explicit description of their face structure and determine the Ehrhart series. We also study an action of the symmetric group on these polytopes, giving a full description the subpolytopes fixed by each permutation. These type A polytopes are graphic zonotopes, are polar duals of symmetric edge polytopes, and also make an appearance in Stapledon's paper introducing Equivariant Ehrhart Theory.

Ehrhart Polynomials of Order Polytopes: Interpreting Combinatorial Sequences on the OEIS
In this paper, we provide an overview of Ehrhart polynomials associated with order polytopes of finite posets, a concept first introduced by Stanley. We focus on their combinatorial interpretations for many sequences listed on the OEIS. We begin by exploring the Ehrhart series of order polytopes resulting from various poset operations, specifically the ordinal sum and direct sum. We then concentrate on the poset $P_λ$ associated with the Ferrers diagram of a partition $λ= (λ_1, λ_2, \ldots, λ_t)$. When $λ= (k, k-1, \ldots, 1)$, the Ehrhart polynomial is a shifted Hankel determinant of the well-known Catalan numbers; when $λ= (k, k, \ldots, k)$, the Ehrhart polynomial is solved by Stanley's hook content formula and is used to prove conjectures for the sequence [A140934] on the OEIS. When solving these problems, we rediscover Kreweras' determinant formula for the Ehrhart polynomial $\mathrm{ehr}(\mathcal{O}(P_λ), n)$ through the application of the Lindström-Gessel-Viennot lemma on non-intersecting lattice paths.

Lattice 3-polytopes of lattice width 2 and corresponding toric hypersurfaces
The Kodaira dimension of a nondegenerate toric hypersurface can be computed from the dimension of the Fine interior of its Newton polytope according to recent work of Victor Batyrev, where the Fine interior of the Newton polytope is the subpolytope consisting of all points which have an integral distance of at least $1$ to all integral supporting hyperplanes. In particular, if we have a Fine interior of codimension $1$, then the hypersurface is of general type and the Newton polytope has lattice width $2$. In this article we study this situation for lattice $3$-polytopes and the corresponding surfaces of general type. In particular, we classify all $2$-dimensional Fine interiors of those lattice $3$-polytopes which have at most $40$ interior lattice points, thus obtaining many examples of surfaces of general type and genus at most $40$.
Ehrhart Functions of Weighted Lattice Points
This paper studies three different ways to assign weights to the lattice points of a convex polytope and discusses the algebraic and combinatorial properties of the resulting weighted Ehrhart functions and their generating functions and associated rings. These will be called $q$-weighted, $r$-weighted, and $s$-weighted Ehrhart functions, respectively. The key questions we investigate are \emph{When are the weighted Ehrhart series rational functions and which classical Ehrhart theory properties are preserved? And, when are the abstract formal power series the Hilbert series of Ehrhart rings of some polytope?} We prove generalizations about weighted Ehrhart $h^*$-coefficients of $q$-weighted Ehrhart series, and show $q$- and $s$-weighted Ehrhart reciprocity theorems. Then, we show the $q$- and $r$-weighted Ehrhart rings are the (classical) Ehrhart rings of weight lifting polytopes.
Colouring t-perfect graphs
Perfect graphs can be described as the graphs whose stable set polytopes are defined by their non-negativity and clique inequalities (including edge inequalities). In 1975, Chvátal defined an analogous class of t-perfect graphs, which are the graphs whose stable set polytopes are defined by their non-negativity, edge inequalities, and odd circuit inequalities. We show that t-perfect graphs are $199053$-colourable. This is the first finite bound on the chromatic number of t-perfect graphs and answers a question of Shepherd from 1995. Our proof also shows that every h-perfect graph with clique number $ω$ is $(ω+ 199050)$-colourable.

On the order of 4-dimensional regular polytope numbers
In light of Kim's conjecture on regular polytopes of dimension four, which is a generalization of Waring's problem, we establish asymptotic formulas for representing any sufficiently large integer as a sum of numbers in the form of those regular 4-polytopes. Moreover, we are able to obtain a more general result of the asymptotics for any degree-four polynomial $f$ satisfying $f(0)=0$ and $f(1)=1$.
On the Number of Vertices in a Hyperplane Section of a Polytope
We study the slices or sections of a convex polytope by affine hyperplanes. We present results on two key problems: First, we provide tight bounds on the maximum number of vertices attainable by a hyperplane slice of $d$-polytope (a sort of upper bound theorem) and discuss a new algorithm to find all sections. Second, we investigate the sequence of numbers of vertices produced by the different slices over all possible hyperplanes and analyze the gaps that arise in that sequence. We study these sequences for three-dimensional polytopes and for hypercubes. Our results were obtained with the help of large computational experiments, and we report on new data generated for hypercubes.

Galois orbits of torsion points over polytopes near atoral sets
Given an essentially atoral Laurent polynomial $P$, we show an equidistribution theorem for the function $\operatorname{log}|P|$ on specific subsets of Galois orbits of torsion points of the $d$-dimensional algebraic torus $\mathbb{G}^d_m(\overline{\mathbb{Q}})$. The specific subsets under consideration are the preimages of $d$-dimensional polytopes within the hypercube $[0,1]^d$ under the cotropicalization map. This generalises an equidistribution theorem of V. Dimitrov and P. Habegger, who considered only all Galois orbits that correspond to the entire hypercube $[0,1]^d$. In addition, we provide an estimate for the convergence speed of this equidistribution, expressed as a negative power of the strictness degree. Our approach is to derive an alternative version of Koksma's inequality over polytopes. As an application, we provide the convergence speed of heights on a sequence of projective points for a specific two-dimensional example, answering a question posed by R. Gualdi and M. Sombra. In the appendix, we present an algorithm to compute the explicit value of the power of the strictness degree.

The Fine interior of dilations of a rational polytope
A nondegenerate toric hypersurface of negative Kodaira dimension can be characterized by the empty Fine interior of its Newton polytope according to recent work by Victor Batyrev, where the Fine interior is the rational subpolytope consisting of all points which have an integral distance of at least 1 to all integral supporting hyperplanes of the Newton polytope. Moreover, we get more information in this situation if we can describe how the Fine interior behaves for dilations of the Newton polytope, e.g. if we can determine the smallest dilation with a non-empty Fine interior. Therefore, in this article we give a purely combinatorial description of the Fine interiors of all dilations of a rational polytope, which allows us in particular to compute this smallest dilation and to classify all lattice 3-polytopes with empty Fine interior, for which we have only one point as Fine interior of the smallest dilation with non-empty Fine interior.

Cyclic polytopes through the lens of iterated integrals
Published in Special volume on Positive Geometry, Le Matematiche 80 (1) (2025), 365-385 • Search Publication
The volume of a cyclic polytope can be obtained by forming an iterated integral along a suitable piecewise linear path running through its edges. Different choices of such a path are related by the action of a subgroup of the combinatorial automorphisms of the polytope. Motivated by this observation, we look for other linear combinations of iterated integrals that are invariant under the subgroup action. This yields interesting polynomial attributes of the cyclic polytope. We prove that there are infinitely many of these invariants which are algebraically independent in the shuffle algebra.

Codegree and regularity of stable set polytopes
The codegree ${\rm codeg}(\mathcal{P})$ of a lattice polytope $\mathcal{P}$ is a fundamental invariant in discrete geometry. In the present paper, we investigate the codegree of the stable set polytope $\mathcal{P}_G$ associated with a simple graph $G$. Specifically, we establish the inequalities \[ ω(G) + 1 \leq {\rm codeg}(\mathcal{P}_G) \leq χ(G) + 1, \] where $ω(G)$ and $χ(G)$ denote the clique number and the chromatic number of $G$, respectively. Furthermore, an explicit formula for {\rm codeg}(\mathcal{P}_G) is given when $G$ is either a line graph or an $h$-perfect graph. Finally, as an application of these results, we provide upper and lower bounds on the regularity of the toric ring associated with $\mathcal{P}_G$.

Order Polytopes of Dimension $\leq 13$ are Ehrhart Positive
The order polytopes arising from the finite poset were first introduced and studied by Stanley. For any positive integer $d\geq 14$, Liu and Tsuchiya proved that there exists a non-Ehrhart positive order polytope of dimension $d$. They also proved that any order polytope of dimension $d\leq 11$ is Ehrhart positive. We confirm that any order polytope of dimension $12$ or $13$ is Ehrhart positive. This solves an open problem proposed by Liu and Tsuchiya. Besides, we also verify that any $h^{*}$-polynomial of order polytope of dimension $d\leq 13$ is real-rooted.
