Lexical tableaux and quasisymmetric functions
There is a natural bijection between standard immaculate tableaux of composition shape $α\vDash n$ and length $\ell(α) = k$ and the $ \left\{ \begin{smallmatrix} n \\ k \end{smallmatrix} \right\} $ set-partitions of $\{ 1, 2, \ldots, n \}$ into $k$ blocks, for the Stirling number $ \left\{ \begin{smallmatrix} n \\ k \end{smallmatrix} \right\} $ of the second kind. We introduce a family of tableaux that we refer to as \emph{lexical tableaux} that generalize immaculate tableaux in such a way that there is a bijection between standard lexical tableaux of shape $α\vDash n$ and length $\ell(α) = k$ and the $ \left[ \begin{smallmatrix} n \\ k \end{smallmatrix} \right] $ permutations on $\{ 1, 2, \ldots, n \}$ with $k$ disjoint cycles. In addition to the entries in the first column strictly increasing, the defining characteristic of lexical tableaux is that the word $w$ formed by the consecutive labels in any row is the lexicographically smallest out of all cyclic permutations of $w$. This includes weakly increasing words, and thus, lexical tableaux provide a natural generalization of immaculate tableaux. Extending this generalization, we introduce a pair of dual bases of the Hopf algebras $\textsf{QSym}$ and $\textsf{NSym}$ defined in terms of lexical tableaux. We present two expansions of these bases, involving the monomial and fundamental bases (or, dually, the ribbon and complete homogeneous bases), using Kostka coefficient analogues and coefficients derived from standard lexical tableaux.
Semisimple algebras related to immaculate tableaux
Given a direct sum $A$ of full matrix algebras, if there is a combinatorial interpretation associated with both the dimension of $A$ and the dimensions of the irreducible $A$-modules, then this can be thought of as providing an analogue of the famous Frobenius-Young identity $n! = \sum_{λ\vdash n} ( f^λ )^{2}$ derived from the semisimple structure of the symmetric group algebra $\mathbb{C}S_{n}$, letting $f^λ$ denote the number of Young tableaux of partition shape $λ\vdash n$. By letting $g^α$ denote the number of standard immaculate tableaux of composition shape $α\vDash n$, we construct an algebra $\mathbb{C}\mathcal{I}_{n}$ with a semisimple structure such that $\dim \mathbb{C}\mathcal{I}_{n} = \sum_{α\vDash n} (g^α)^{2}$ and such that $\mathbb{C}\mathcal{I}_{n} $ contains an isomorphic copy of $\mathbb{C}S_{n}$. We bijectively prove a recurrence for $\dim \mathbb{C}\mathcal{I}_{n}$ so as to construct a basis of $\mathbb{C}\mathcal{I}_{n}$ indexed by permutation-like objects that we refer to as immacutations. We form a basis $\mathcal{B}_{n}$ of $\mathbb{C}\mathcal{I}_{n}$ such that $\mathbb{C} \mathcal{B}_n$ has the structure of a monoid algebra in such a way so that $\mathcal{B}_n$ is closed under the multiplicative operation of $\mathbb{C} \mathcal{I}_n$, yielding a monoid structure on the set of order-$n$ immacutations.

We introduce a new basis of quasisymmetric functions, the row-strict dual immaculate functions. We construct a cyclic, indecomposable 0-Hecke algebra module for these functions. Our row-strict immaculate functions are related to the dual immaculate functions of Berg-Bergeron-Saliola-Serrano-Zabrocki (2014-15) by the involution $ψ$ on the ring of quasisymmetric functions. We give an explicit description of the effect of $ψ$ on the associated 0-Hecke modules, via the poset induced by the 0-Hecke action on standard immaculate tableaux. This remarkable poset reveals other 0-Hecke submodules and quotient modules, often cyclic and indecomposable, notably for a row-strict analogue of the extended Schur functions studied in Assaf-Searles (2019).
Like the dual immaculate function, the row-strict dual immaculate function is the generating function of a suitable set of tableaux, corresponding to a specific descent set. We give a complete combinatorial and representation-theoretic picture by constructing 0-Hecke modules for the remaining variations on descent sets, and showing that \emph{all} the possible variations for generating functions of tableaux occur as characteristics of the 0-Hecke modules determined by these descent sets.
The Stylic Monoid

The free monoid $A^*$ on a finite totally ordered alphabet $A$ acts at the left on columns, by Schensted left insertion. This defines a finite monoid, denoted $Styl(A)$ and called the stylic monoid. It is canonically a quotient of the plactic monoid. Main results are: the cardinality of $Styl(A)$ is equal to the number of partitions of a set on $|A|+1$ elements. We give a bijection with so-called $N$-tableaux, similar to Schensted's algorithm, explaining this fact. Presentation of $Styl(A)$: it is generated by $A$ subject to the plactic (Knuth) relations and the idempotent relations $a^2=a$, $a\in A$. The canonical involutive anti-automorphism on $A^*$, which reverses the order on $A$, induces an involution of $Styl(A)$, which similarly to the corresponding involution of the plactic monoid, may be computed by an evacuation-like operation (Schützenberger involution on tableaux) on so-called standard immaculate tableaux (which are in bijection with partitions). The monoid $Styl(A)$ is $J$-trivial, and the $J$-order of $Styl(A)$ is graded: the co-rank is given by the number of elements in the $N$-tableau. The monoid $Styl(A)$ is the syntactic monoid for the the function which associates to each word $w\in A^*$ the length of its longest strictly decreasing subword.

In this paper, we present a direct bijective proof of the hook-length formula for standard immaculate tableaux, which arose in the study of non-commutative symmetric functions. Our proof is along the spirit of Novelli, Pak and Stoyanovskii's combinatorial proof of the hook-length formula for standard Young tableaux.
