Uniform hypergraphs have a natural one-to-one correspondence to tensors. In this paper, we investigate the Estrada index and subgraph centrality of an $m$-uniform hypergraph $\mathcal{H}$ via the adjacency tensor. We establish some bounds for the Estrada index and give expressions of the subgraph centrality in terms of graph parameters of the multi-digraphs associated with $\mathcal{H}$. When $\mathcal{H}$ is $2$-uniform, the above Estrada index and subgraph centrality are the Estrada index and subgraph centrality of a graph.
Signless Laplacian energy, Distance Laplacian Energy and Distance Signless Laplacian Spectrum of Unitary Addition Cayley Graphs
In this paper we compute bounds for signless Laplacian energy, distance signless Laplacian eigenvalues and signless Laplacian energy of unitary addition Cayley graph G_{n}. We also obtain distance Laplacian eigenvalues and distance Laplacian energy of G_{n}.
Balanced Allocations with Incomplete Information: The Power of Two Queries

We consider the allocation of $m$ balls into $n$ bins with incomplete information. In the classical Two-Choice process a ball first queries the load of two randomly chosen bins and is then placed in the least loaded bin. In our setting, each ball also samples two random bins but can only estimate a bin's load by sending binary queries of the form "Is the load at least the median?" or "Is the load at least 100?".
For the lightly loaded case $m=O(n)$, Feldheim and Gurel-Gurevich (2021) showed that with one query it is possible to achieve a maximum load of $O(\sqrt{\log n/\log \log n})$, and posed the question whether a maximum load of $m/n+O(\sqrt{\log n/\log \log n})$ is possible for any $m = Ω(n)$. In this work, we resolve this open problem by proving a lower bound of $m/n+Ω( \sqrt{\log n})$ for a fixed $m=Θ(n \sqrt{\log n})$, and a lower bound of $m/n+Ω(\log n/\log \log n)$ for some $m$ depending on the used strategy.
We complement this negative result by proving a positive result for multiple queries. In particular, we show that with only two binary queries per chosen bin, there is an oblivious strategy which ensures a maximum load of $m/n+O(\sqrt{\log n})$ for any $m \geq 1$. Further, for any number of $k = O(\log \log n)$ binary queries, the upper bound on the maximum load improves to $m/n + O(k(\log n)^{1/k})$ for any $m \geq 1$.
Further, this result for $k$ queries implies (i) new bounds for the $(1+β)$-process introduced by Peres et al (2015), (ii) new bounds for the graphical balanced allocation process on dense expander graphs, and (iii) the bound of $m/n+O(\log \log n)$ on the maximum load achieved by the Two-Choice process, including the heavily loaded case $m=Ω(n)$ derived by Berenbrink et al. (2006). One novel aspect of our proofs is the use of multiple super-exponential potential functions, which might be of use in future work.

In this paper we resolve the Alon-Jaeger-Tarsi conjecture for sufficiently large primes. Namely, we show that for any finite field $\mathbb{F}$ of size $61<|\mathbb F|\ne 79$ and any nonsingular matrix $M$ over $\mathbb{F}$ there exists a vector $x$ such that neither $x$ nor $Ax$ has a 0 component.
Quintic graphs with every edge in a triangle
We characterise the quintic (i.e. 5-regular) multigraphs with the property that every edge lies in a triangle. Such a graph is either from a set of small graphs or is formed by adding a perfect matching to a line graph of a cubic graph as double edges, or can be reduced by a sequence of operations to one of these graphs.

In this paper, we propose an Integer Linear Model whose solutions are the aperiodic rhythms tiling with a given rhythm A. We show how this model can be used to efficiently check the necessity of the Coven-Meyerowitz's $(T2)$ condition and also to define an iterative algorithm that finds all the possible tilings of the rhythm A. To conclude, we run several experiments to validate the time efficiency of this model.

Let $H$ and $G$ be graphs such that $H$ has at least 3 vertices and is connected. The $H$-line graph of $G$, denoted by $HL(G)$, is that graph whose vertices are the edges of $G$ and where two vertices of $HL(G)$ are adjacent if they are adjacent in $G$ and lie in a common copy of $H$. For each nonnegative integer $k$, let $HL^{k}(G)$ denote the $k$-th iteration of the $H$-line graph of $G$. We say that the sequence $\{ HL^k(G) \}$ converges if there exists a positive integer $N$ such that $HL^k(G) \cong HL^{k+1}(G)$, and for $n \geq 3$ we set $Λ_n$ as the set of all graphs $G$ whose sequence $\{HL^k(G) \}$ converges when $H\cong P_n$. The sets $Λ_3, Λ_4$ and $Λ_5$ have been characterized. To progress towards the characterization of $Λ_n$ in general, this paper defines and studies the following property: a graph $G$ is minimally $n$-convergent if $G\in Λ_n$ but no proper subgraph of $G$ is in $Λ_n$. In addition, prove conditions that imply divergence, and use these results to develop some of the properties of minimally $n$-convergent graphs.

A cluster algebra is a commutative algebra whose structure is decided by a skew-symmetrizable matrix or a quiver. When a skew-symmetrizable matrix is invariant under an action of a finite group and this action is admissible, the folded cluster algebra is obtained from the original one. Any cluster algebra of non-simply-laced affine type can be obtained by folding a cluster algebra of simply-laced affine type with a specific $G$-action. In this paper, we study the combinatorial properties of quivers in the cluster algebra of affine type. We prove that for any quiver of simply-laced affine type, $G$-invariance and $G$-admissibility are equivalent. This leads us to prove that the set of $G$-invariant seeds forms the folded cluster pattern.

In a Dyck path a peak which is (weakly) higher than all the preceding peaks is called a strict (weak) left to right maximum. We obtain explicit generating functions for both weak and strict left to right maxima in Dyck paths. The proofs of the associated asymptotics make use of analytic techniques such as Mellin transforms, singularity analysis and formal residue calculus.
The fixed point property of a poset and the fixed point property of the poset induced by its extremal points
For a connected finite poset $P$, let $E(P)$ be the poset induced by the extremal points of $P$. We show that the fixed point property of $E(P)$ implies the fixed point property of $P$. On the other hand, we show that a homomorphism $f : E(P) \rightarrow Q$ can be extended to $P$ if $Q$ is a flat poset not containing a 4-crown. We conclude that every retract-crown of $E(P)$ with more than four points is a retract-crown of $P$, too. We see that for $P$ having the fixed point property but $E(P)$ not, every edge of every crown in $E(P)$ must belong to a so-called improper 4-crown, with additional specifications if $P$ has height two. The results provide several sufficient and necessary conditions for $P$ having the fixed point property, and these conditions refer to objects simpler than $P$.

The Newell-Littlewood numbers are tensor product multiplicities of Weyl modules for the classical groups in the stable range. Littlewood-Richardson coefficients form a special case. Klyachko connected eigenvalues of sums of Hermitian matrices to the saturated LR-cone and established defining linear inequalities. We prove analogues for the saturated NL-cone: an eigenvalue interpretation; a minimal list of defining linear inequalities; a description by Extended Horn inequalities, as conjectured in part II of this series; and a factorization of NL-numbers, on the boundary.

A magic labelling of a graph $G$ with magic sum $s$ is a labelling of the edges of $G$ by nonnegative integers such that for each vertex $v\in V$, the sum of labels of all edges incident to $v$ is equal to the same number $s$. Stanley gave remarkable results on magic labellings, but the distinct labelling case is much more complicated. We consider the complete construction of all magic labellings of a given graph $G$. The idea is illustrated in detail by dealing with three regular graphs. We give combinatorial proofs. The structure result was used to enumerate the corresponding magic distinct labellings.
Eccentricity energy change of complete multipartite graphs due to edge deletion

The eccentricity matrix $\varepsilon(G)$ of a graph $G$ is obtained from the distance matrix of $G$ by retaining the largest distances in each row and each column, and leaving zeros in the remaining ones. The eccentricity energy of $G$ is sum of the absolute values of the eigenvalues of $\varepsilon(G)$. Although the eccentricity matrices of graphs are closely related to the distance matrices of graphs, a number of properties of eccentricity matrices are substantially different from those of the distance matrices. The change in eccentricity energy of a graph due to an edge deletion is one such property. In this article, we give examples of graphs for which the eccentricity energy increase (resp., decrease) but the distance energy decrease (resp., increase) due to an edge deletion. Also, we prove that the eccentricity energy of the complete $k$-partite graph $K_{n_1,\hdots,n_k}$ with $k\geq 2$ and $ n_i\geq 2$, increases due to an edge deletion.
The Integer Sequence Transform $a \mapsto b$ where $b_n$ is the Number of Real Roots of the Polynomial $a_0 + a_1x + a_2x^2 + \cdots + a_nx^n$
We discuss the integer sequence transform $a \mapsto b$ where $b_n$ is the number of real roots of the polynomial $a_0 + a_1x + a_2x^2 + \cdots + a_nx^n$. It is shown that several sequences $a$ give the trivial sequence $b = (0,1,0,1, 0,1,\ldots)$, i.e., ${b_n = n \bmod 2}$, among them the Catalan numbers, central binomial coefficients, $n!$ and $\binom{n+k}{n}$ for a fixed $k$. We also look at some sequences $a$ for which $b$ is more interesting such as $a_n = (n+1)^k$ for $k \geq 3$. Further, general procedures are given for constructing real sequences $a_n$ for which $b_n$ is either always maximal or minimal.

We uncover a connection between two seemingly unrelated notions: lettericity, from structural graph theory, and geometric griddability, from the world of permutation patterns. Both of these notions capture important structural properties of their respective classes of objects. We prove that these notions are equivalent in the sense that a permutation class is geometrically griddable if and only if the corresponding class of inversion graphs has bounded lettericity.
On a k-matching algorithm and finding k-factors in random graphs with minimum degree k+1 in linear time
We prove that for $k+1\geq 3$ and $c>(k+1)/2$ w.h.p. the random graph on $n$ vertices, $cn$ edges and minimum degree $k+1$ contains a (near) perfect $k$-matching. As an immediate consequence we get that w.h.p. the $(k+1)$-core of $G_{n,p}$, if non empty, spans a (near) spanning $k$-regular subgraph. This improves upon a result of Chan and Molloy and completely resolves a conjecture of Bollobás, Kim and Verstraëte. In addition, we show that w.h.p. such a subgraph can be found in linear time. A substantial element of the proof is the analysis of a randomized algorithm for finding $k$-matchings in random graphs with minimum degree $k+1$.
Packing Hamilton Cycles in Cores of Random Graphs
Consider the random graph process $\{G_t\}_{t\geq 0}$. For $k\geq 3$ let $G_{t}^{(k)}$ denote the $k$-core of $G_t$ and let $τ_k$ be the minimum $t$ such that the $k$-core of $G_t$ is nonempty. It is well known that w.h.p. for $G_{τ_k}^{(k)}$ has linear size while it is believed to be Hamiltonian. Bollobás, Cooper, Fenner and Frieze further conjectured that w.h.p. $G_{t}^{(k)}$ spans $\lfloor \frac{k-1}{2} \rfloor$ edge-disjoint Hamilton cycles plus, when $k$ is even, a perfect matching for $t\geq τ_k$. We prove that w.h.p.\@ if $k$ is odd then $G_{t}^{(k)}$ spans $\frac{k-3}{2}$ edge disjoint Hamilton cycles plus an additional 2-factor whereas if $k$ is even then it spans $\frac{k-2}{2}$ edge disjoint Hamilton cycles plus an additional matching of size $n/2-o(n)$ for $t\geq τ_k$. In particular w.h.p. $G_{t}^{(k)}$ is Hamiltonian for $k\geq 4$ and $t\geq τ_k$. This improves upon results of Krivelevich, Lubetzky and Sudakov.
Double domination in maximal outerplanar graphs

In a graph $G$, a vertex dominates itself and its neighbors. A subset $S\subseteq V(G)$ is said to be a double dominating set of $G$ if $S$ dominates every vertex of $G$ at least twice. The double domination number $γ_{\times 2}(G)$ is the minimum cardinality of a double dominating set of $G$. We show that if $G$ is a maximal outerplanar graph on $n\geq 3$ vertices, then $γ_{\times 2}(G)\leq \lfloor \frac{2n}{3}\rfloor$. Further, if $n\geq 4$, then $γ_{\times 2}(G)\leq \min \{\lfloor \frac{n+t}{2}\rfloor, n-t\}$, where $t$ is the number of vertices of degree $2$ in $G$. These bounds are shown to be tight. In addition, we also study the case that $G$ is a striped maximal outerplanar graph.

In 1975 Bollobás, Erd\H os, and Szemerédi asked the following question: given positive integers $n, t, r$ with $2\le t\le r-1$, what is the largest minimum degree $δ(G)$ among all $r$-partite graphs $G$ with parts of size $n$ and which do not contain a copy of $K_{t+1}$? The $r=t+1$ case has attracted a lot of attention and was fully resolved by Haxell and Szabó, and Szabó and Tardos in 2006. In this paper we investigate the $r>t+1$ case of the problem, which has remained dormant for over forty years. We resolve the problem exactly in the case when $r \equiv -1 \pmod{t}$, and up to an additive constant for many other cases, including when $r \geq (3t-1)(t-1)$. Our approach utilizes a connection to the related problem of determining the maximum of the minimum degrees among the family of balanced $r$-partite $rn$-vertex graphs of chromatic number at most $t$.

We characterize those strings whose suffix arrays are based on arithmetic progressions, in particular, arithmetically progressed permutations where all pairs of successive entries of the permutation have the same difference modulo the respective string length. We show that an arithmetically progressed permutation $P$ coincides with the suffix array of a unary, binary, or ternary string. We further analyze the conditions of a given $P$ under which we can find a uniquely defined string over either a binary or ternary alphabet having $P$ as its suffix array. For the binary case, we show its connection to lower Christoffel words, balanced words, and Fibonacci words. In addition to solving the arithmetically progressed suffix array problem, we give the shape of the Burrows-Wheeler transform of those strings solving this problem. These results give rise to numerous future research directions.
