Polytopes of Effective Boundary Expressions of Divisors on $\overline{M}_{0,n}$
For a divisor on $\overline{M}_{0,n}$, we introduce the polytope of its effective boundary expressions. We establish structural properties of these polytopes under the forgetful maps of $\overline{M}_{0,n}$ forgetting marked points, and give equivalent graph-theoretic descriptions. We compute these polytopes for several families of divisors. For psi-classes and their pullbacks by forgetful maps, we show that the polytopes are unimodular simplices. For the log-canonical class and its modifications by psi-classes, we prove that the nonnegative parts of the corresponding polytopes recover spanning forest polytopes and the subtour elimination (Held--Karp relaxation) polytope of the symmetric traveling salesman problem. As an application, we obtain a Minkowski-like decomposition of the subtour elimination polytope into simplices. Finally, for symmetric level-one $\mathfrak{sl}_p$ conformal block divisors, we show that the defining inequalities are local Turán bounds and the $0/1$-points are balanced Turán graphs. Moreover, for $p=2$ and $p=n/2$, these polytopes recover the perfect matching and fractional perfect matching polytopes.
A combinatorial rule for $GL$-multiplicities of $A_n$-quiver loci
We give the first positive combinatorial rule for the multiplicities of irreducible $GL$-representations in the coordinate rings of type $A$ quiver orbit closures, valid for every orientation of the quiver. Previously, for the special case of varieties of complexes, work of De Concini--Strickland in the early 1980s gave an implicit description of these multiplicities. The combinatorial objects in our rule carry a crystal structure whose highest-weight elements compute these multiplicities.
Wall-crossing for Hilbert schemes
The goal of the minimal model program for the Hilbert scheme of points on a surface aims is to describe the (stable) base loci of all divisors, their associated birational models, and the maps between them. We answer all of these questions for the Hilbert scheme of points on the blowup of the affine plane at the origin. The birational models are Brill-Noether loci in a larger Hilbert scheme, and nested variants thereof, and the wall-crossing maps are described as explicit projections. We also establish several new facts about the homogeneous coordinate ring of this Hilbert scheme, including finding the minimal set of line bundles whose sections generate the ring.
Pattern expansions of permutation statistics
We study the expansions of permutation statistics in the basis of functions counting occurrences of a fixed pattern in a permutation. We show the finiteness of these pattern expansions for a class of permutation statistics including the higher moment statistics, generalizing a result of Berman and Tenner. We also give a combinatorial criterion for the positivity of pattern expansions. Using this criterion, we show that the pattern expansion of the number of reduced words of a permutation is positive and give an enumerative interpretation for the coefficients.
Newton-Okounkov bodies for nested Hilbert schemes
We study sections of line bundles on the nested Hilbert scheme of points on the affine plane. We describe the spaces of sections in terms of certain ideals introduced by Haiman, and find explicit bases for them by analyzing the trailing terms in some monomial order. As a consequence, we compute the Newton-Okounkov bodies for nested Hilbert schemes.
Graded Ehrhart theory and toric geometry
We give two new constructions of the harmonic algebra of a lattice polytope $P$, a bigraded algebra whose character is the $q$-Ehrhart series of $P$ defined by Reiner and Rhoades. First, we show that the harmonic algebra is the associated graded algebra of the semigroup algebra of $P$ with respect to a certain natural filtration, clarifying it's relationship with the more classical semigroup algebra. We then give a geometric interpretation of the harmonic algebra as a quotient of the ring of global sections of a certain family of line bundles on the blowup of the toric variety associated to $P$ at a generic point. Using this connection to toric geometry we resolve one the main conjectures of Reiner and Rhoades by showing that the harmonic algebra is not finitely generated in general.
Domino Tilings, Domino Shuffling, and the Nabla Operator
We study domino tilings of certain regions $R_λ$, indexed by partitions $λ$, weighted according to generalized area and dinv statistics. These statistics arise from the $q,t$-Catalan combinatorics and Macdonald polynomials. We present a formula for the generating polynomial of these domino tilings in terms of the Bergeron--Garsia nabla operator. When $λ= (n^n)$ is a square shape, domino tilings of $R_λ$ are equivalent to those of the Aztec diamond of order $n$. In this case, we give a new product formula for the resulting polynomials by domino shuffling and its connection with alternating sign matrices. In particular, we obtain a combinatorial proof of the joint symmetry of the generalized area and dinv statistics.
Verlinde series for Hirzebruch surfaces
We give an explicit formula for Euler characteristics of line bundles on the Hilbert scheme of points on $\mathbb{P}^1\times\mathbb{P}^1$. Combined with structural results of Ellingsrud, Göttsche, and Lehn, this determines the Euler characteristic of any line bundle on the Hilbert scheme of points on any smooth, projective surface. We also give an enumerative description of the dimensions of spaces of global sections of ample line bundles on Hilbert schemes of points on Hirzebruch surfaces, extending the polytope-line bundle correspondence on the underlying toric surface.

We introduce the $q,t$-Catalan measures, a sequence of piece-wise polynomial measures on $\mathbb{R}^2$. These measures are defined in terms of suitable area, dinv, and bounce statistics on continuous families of paths in the plane, and have many combinatorial similarities to the $q,t$-Catalan numbers. Our main result realizes the $q,t$-Catalan measures as a limit of higher $q,t$-Catalan numbers $C^{(m)}_n(q,t)$ as $m\to\infty$. We also give a geometric interpretation of the $q,t$-Catalan measures. They are the Duistermaat-Heckman measures of the punctual Hilbert schemes parametrizing subschemes of $\mathbb{C}^2$ supported at the origin.

We compute the (unbounded) Newton-Okounkov body of the Hilbert scheme of points on $\mathbb C^2$. We obtain an upper bound for the Newton-Okounkov body of the Hilbert scheme of points on any smooth toric surface. We conjecture that this upper bound coincides with the exact Newton-Okounkov body for the Hilbert schemes of points on $\mathbb P^2$, $\mathbb P^1\times\mathbb P^1$, and Hirzebruch surfaces. These results imply upper bounds for the effective cones of these Hilbert schemes, which are also conjecturally sharp in the above cases.
