Motivic quasimap wall-crossing for Grassmannians
We prove a wall-crossing formula for the Euler characteristics, considered as virtual mixed Hodge structures, of moduli spaces of $\varepsilon$-stable quasimaps to the Grassmannian $\mathbb{G}(r, N)$. For each $\varepsilon > 0$, we define a $\mathbb{Q}$-algebra automorphism of the ring of symmetric functions which takes the generating function for the $\mathbb{S}_n$-equivariant Euler characteristics of the moduli spaces of stable maps $\overline{\mathcal{M}}_{g, n}(\mathbb{G}(r, N), d)$ to the corresponding generating function for Toda's moduli spaces of $\varepsilon$-stable quasimaps $\overline{\mathcal{Q}}_{g, n}^{\varepsilon}(\mathbb{G}(r, N), d)$. The automorphism is given by explicit $q$-deformations of the power sum symmetric functions. The $\varepsilon \to 0$ limit of our formula exchanges the spaces of stable maps and the Marian--Oprea--Pandharipande moduli spaces of stable quotients. Our proof uses the geometry of relative Quot schemes to relate the quasimap spaces to moduli spaces of weighted stable maps, for which we obtain wall-crossing formulas via symmetric function theory.
Wall-crossing for Hilbert schemes
The goal of the minimal model program for the Hilbert scheme of points on a surface aims is to describe the (stable) base loci of all divisors, their associated birational models, and the maps between them. We answer all of these questions for the Hilbert scheme of points on the blowup of the affine plane at the origin. The birational models are Brill-Noether loci in a larger Hilbert scheme, and nested variants thereof, and the wall-crossing maps are described as explicit projections. We also establish several new facts about the homogeneous coordinate ring of this Hilbert scheme, including finding the minimal set of line bundles whose sections generate the ring.
Rationality and symmetry of stable pairs generating series of Fano 3-folds
The generating series of descendent invariants of stable pairs on 3-folds is conjectured to be rational and to satisfy a $q\leftrightarrow q^{-1}$ symmetry. We prove this conjecture for Fano 3-folds. We utilize the same path of stability conditions that Toda used in his proof of the Calabi--Yau version of the conjecture, relating stable pairs and $L$ invariants, and work of the two authors that allows an extension of Joyce's descendent wall-crossing formula to non-standard hearts of $D^b(X)$. We use Ehrhart theory to deal with the combinatorics coming out of the wall-crossing formula. Furthermore, we specialize the wall-crossing formula to primary insertions and prove a strong rationality result predicted by the Pandharipande--Thomas/Gopakumar--Vafa correspondence.
A sphere of spherical objects
Given a Bridgeland stability condition on a 2-Calabi--Yau category, we define a simplicial complex that encodes the Harder--Narasimhan filtrations of spherical objects. For 2-Calabi--Yau categories of type A, we relate this complex to the complex of pointed pseudo-triangulations on configurations of points on the plane. Using this connection, we prove that the complex undergoes piecewise-linear wall-crossings as we vary the stability condition, and is piecewise-linearly homeomorphic to a sphere.
Additionally, we prove that for a generic stability condition on a 2-Calabi--Yau category, a spherical object is determined by the ordered list of its Harder--Narasimhan factors.
Quivers and BPS states in 3d and 4d
We propose a symmetrization relation between BPS quivers encoding 4d $\mathcal{N}=2$ theories and symmetric quivers associated to 3d $\mathcal{N}=2$ theories. We analyse in detail the symmetrization of BPS quivers for a series of $A_m$ Argyres-Douglas theories by engineering 3d-4d systems in geometric backgrounds involving appropriate 3-manifolds and Riemann surfaces. We discuss properties of these geometric backgrounds and derive the corresponding quiver partition functions from the perspective of skein modules, which forms the foundation of the symmetrization map for the minimal chamber. We also prove that the structure of wall-crossing in 4d $A_m$ Argyres-Douglas theories is isomorphic to the structure of unlinking of symmetric quivers encoding their partner 3d theories, which allows for a proper definition of the symmetrization map outside the minimal chamber. Finally, we show that the Schur indices of 4d theories are captured by symmetric quivers that include symmetrization of 4d BPS quivers.
Wall-crossing phenomenon for the liquid bin model
We introduce the liquid bin model as a continuous-time deterministic dynamics, arising as the hydrodynamic limit of a discrete-time stochastic interacting particle system called the infinite bin model. For the liquid bin model, we prove the existence and uniqueness of a stationary evolution, to which the dynamics converges exponentially fast. The speed of the front of the system is explicitly computed as a continuous piecewise rational function of the parameters of the model, revealing an underlying wall-crossing phenomenon. We show that the regions on which the speed is rational are of non-empty interior and are naturally indexed by Dyck paths. We provide a complete description of the adjacency structure of these regions, which generalizes the Stanley lattice for Dyck paths. Finally we point out an intriguing connection to the topic of extensions of partial cyclic orders to total cyclic orders.
Local algorithms for coplactic switching and evacuation of Young tableaux
Tableau switching is a well studied bijection on pairs of skew Young tableaux which swaps their relative positions. This is achieved by successively sliding the entries of the inner tableaux through the outer one via jeu de taquin (JDT) slides. Tableau coswitching is a similar but coplactic operation, meaning it commutes with any sequence of JDT slides. Coswitching is defined by first performing JDT rectification on the union of the tableaux, switching the resulting pair, then unrectifying the union. This definition requires us to perform large scale modifications to the skew shapes during the rectification and unrectification steps, which is both computationally taxing and obscures the effect of coswitching on the pair of skew tableaux. In previous work, Gillespie and Levinson define an algorithm which computes coswitching as a sequence of local moves, which do not alter the skew shapes of the tableaux, when one of the tableaux is a single box.
In this paper, we extend the results of Gillespie and Levinson (and Gillespie, Levinson, and Purbhoo for type B) to the case the two skew tableaux are of arbitrary size. We also describe multiple bijections on tableaux, each descending to the evacuation shuffling (esh) operation on pairs of dual equivalence classes. We show how special cases of our local algorithm compute the Schützenberger involution on skew tableaux, as well as the wall-crossing and monodromy of certain covering spaces of the moduli space $\overline{M}_{0, r}(\mathbb{R})$.
Wreath Macdonald polynomials, quiver varieties, and quasimap counts
We study the $K$-theoretic enumerative geometry of cyclic Nakajima quiver varieties, with particular focus on $\text{Hilb}^{m}([\mathbb{C}^{2}/\mathbb{Z}_{l}])$, the equivariant Hilbert scheme of points on $\mathbb{C}^2$. The direct sum over $m$ of the equivariant $K$-theories of these varieties is known to be isomorphic to the ring symmetric functions in $l$ colors, with structure sheaves of torus fixed points identified with wreath Macdonald polynomials. Using properties of wreath Macdonald polynomials and the recent identification of the Maulik-Okounkov quantum affine algebra for cyclic quivers with the quantum toroidal algebras of type $A$, we derive an explicit formula for the generating function of capped vertex functions of $\text{Hilb}^{m}([\mathbb{C}^{2}/\mathbb{Z}_{l}])$ with descendants given by exterior powers of the $0$th tautological bundle. We also sharpen the large framing vanishing results of Okounkov, providing a class of descendants and cyclic quiver varieties for which the capped vertex functions are purely classical. Our results also suggest certain integrality and wall-crossing conjectures for capped vertex functions.
Toric degenerations and Newton-Okounkov bodies
In recent times, a wide variety of combinatorics has been introduced in order to solve problems from algebraic geometry. Newton-Okounkov bodies and tropical geometry are two such combinatorial theories. As shown by Kaveh and Manon, there is a certain correspondence between these two. Building on this correspondence, and exploiting the link of both theories to toric degenerations, Harada and Escobar obtained their wall-crossing result for prime cones. This result states that moving between two adjacent prime maximal cones in a tropical variety corresponds to a mutation between the associated Newton-Okounkov bodies of these cones. In this thesis, we provide a method for applying the wall-crossing result to non-prime cones. Our approach uses a procedure developed by Bossinger, Lamboglia, Mincheva and Mohammadi in order to compute an embedding which changes a tropical variety in such a way that a non-prime cone becomes prime. Assuming that adjacent cones stay adjacent, the wall-crossing result can then be applied in this new embedding. Building on computations by Clarke, Mohammadi and Zaffalon, we show that for Gr(3,6), this approach works. We compute the new embedding and its tropicalization in this case, and study the relation between cones in the new embedding and the original embedding.
$k$-leaky double Hurwitz descendants
We define a new class of enumerative invariants called $k$-leaky double Hurwitz descendants, generalizing both descendant integrals of double ramification cycles and the $k$-leaky double Hurwitz numbers introduced in previous work of Cavalieri, Markwig and Ranganathan. These numbers are defined as intersection numbers of the logarithmic DR cycle against $ψ$-classes and logarithmic classes coming from piecewise polynomials encoding fixed branch point conditions. We give a tropical graph sum formula for these new invariants, allowing us to show their piecewise polynomiality and a wall-crossing formula in genus zero. We also prove that in genus zero the invariants are always non-negative and give a complete classification of the cases where they vanish.

We prove a Chevalley formula to multiply the motivic Chern classes of Schubert cells in a generalized flag manifold $G/P$ by the class of any line bundle $\mathcal{L}_λ$. Our formula is given in terms of the $λ$-chains of Lenart and Postnikov. Its proof relies on a change of basis formula in the affine Hecke algebra due to Ram, and on the Hecke algebra action on torus-equivariant K-theory of the complete flag manifold $G/B$ via left Demazure--Lusztig operators. We revisit some wall-crossing formulae for the stable envelopes in $T^*(G/B)$. We use our Chevalley formula, and the equivalence between motivic Chern classes of Schubert cells and K-theoretic stable envelopes in $T^*(G/B)$, to give formulae for the change of polarization, and for the change of slope for stable envelopes. We prove several additional applications, including Serre, star, and Dynkin, dualities of the Chevalley coefficients, new formulae for the Whittaker functions, and for the Hall--Littlewood polynomials. We also discuss positivity properties of Chevalley coefficients, and properties of the coefficients arising from multiplication by minuscule weights.
Variations of GIT quotients and dimer combinatorics for toric compound Du Val singularities
A dimer model is a bipartite graph described on the real two-torus, and it gives the quiver as the dual graph. It is known that for any three-dimensional Gorenstein toric singularity, there exists a dimer model such that a GIT quotient parametrizing stable representations of the associated quiver is a projective crepant resolution of this singularity for some stability parameter. It is also known that the space of stability parameters has the wall-and-chamber structure, and for any projective crepant resolution of a three-dimensional Gorenstein toric singularity can be realized as the GIT quotient associated to a stability parameter contained in some chamber. In this paper, we consider dimer models giving rise to projective crepant resolutions of a toric compound Du Val singularity. We show that sequences of zigzag paths, which are special paths on a dimer model, determine the wall-and-chamber structure of the space of stability parameters. Moreover, we can track the variations of stable representations under wall-crossing using the sequences of zigzag paths.
Combinatorial wall-crossing for the sign representation of prime size
We present an algorithm to calculate the result of combinatorial wall-crossing at every step starting with the column partition of prime size. This algorithm is confirmed by computer calculations. The output of the algorithm is consistent with Bezrukavnikov's conjecture in the case of the sign representation.
Hecke algebra action on twisted motivic Chern classes and K-theoretic stable envelopes
Let $G$ be a linear semisimple algebraic group and $B$ its Borel subgroup. Let $\mathbb{T}\subset B$ be the maximal torus. We study the inductive construction of Bott-Samelson varieties to obtain recursive formulas for the twisted motivic Chern classes of Schubert cells in $G/B$. To this end we introduce two families of operators acting on the equivariant K-theory $K_\mathbb{T}(G/B)[y]$, the right and left Demazure-Lusztig operators depending on a parameter. The twisted motivic Chern classes coincide (up to normalization) with the K-theoretic stable envelopes. Our results imply wall-crossing formulas for a change of the weight chamber and slope parameters. The right and left operators generate a twisted double Hecke algebra. We show that in the type $A$ this algebra acts on the Laurent polynomials. This action is a natural lift of the action on $K_\mathbb{T}(G/B)[y]$ with respect to the Kirwan map. We show that the left and right twisted Demazure-Lusztig operators provide a recursion for twisted motivic Chern classes of matrix Schubert varieties.

In enumerative geometry, Virasoro constraints were first conjectured in Gromov-Witten theory with many new recent developments in the sheaf theoretic context. In this paper, we rephrase the sheaf-theoretic Virasoro constraints in terms of primary states coming from a natural conformal vector in Joyce's vertex algebra. This shows that Virasoro constraints are preserved under wall-crossing. As an application, we prove the conjectural Virasoro constraints for moduli spaces of torsion-free sheaves on any curve and on surfaces with only $(p,p)$ cohomology classes by reducing the statements to the rank 1 case.
Wall-crossing for punctual Quot-schemes
We study punctual quot-schemes of torsion-free sheaves $E_Y$ on smooth projective curves, surfaces and Calabi--Yau fourfolds via their virtual geometry. Our goal is to give a complete description of the virtual fundamental classes and their tautological integrals. In the fourfold case, we first construct these classes under additional conditions.
We use novel methods relying on the wall-crossing of Joyce. Our results include
-the dependence of the cobordism classes on the torsion-free sheaf $E_Y$ where $Y$ is a surface,
-relations to the previous results in the literature, which addressed the case of a trivial $E_Y$,
-a new 12-fold correspondence relating Segre and Verlinde invariants for curves, surfaces and Calabi-Yau fourfolds based on the one observed by Arbesfeld-Johnson-Lim-Oprea-Pandharipande in dimensions one and two,
-a closed formula for the Nekrasov genus, which gives a compact analogue of Nekrasov's conjecture.
As our techniques are orthogonal to the original literature, we make our work independent by proving a new combinatorial identity in arXiv:2111.09868

Motivated by my work on enumerative invariants for Quot schemes, I related two power series obtained by two different means. One of them was computed using geometric arguments via virtual localization methods and the other one came from working with representation theoretic objects called vertex algebras. In this note, I give proof of the equality of the two power series by relying only on techniques related to Lagrange inversion. This makes my work on Quot schemes independent of the previous results in the literature and proves a new combinatorial identity.

We compute, via motivic wall-crossing, the generating function of virtual motives of the Quot scheme of points on $\mathbb{A}^3$, generalising to higher rank a result of Behrend, Bryan and Szendrői. We show that this motivic partition function converges to a Gaussian distribution, extending a result of Morrison.
Wall-crossing for Newton-Okounkov bodies and the tropical Grassmannian

Tropical geometry and the theory of Newton-Okounkov bodies are two methods which produce toric degenerations of an irreducible complex projective variety. Kaveh-Manon showed that the two are related. We give geometric maps between the Newton-Okounkov bodies corresponding to two adjacent maximal-dimensional prime cones in the tropicalization of $X$. Under a technical condition, we produce a natural "algebraic wall-crossing" map on the underlying value semigroups (of the corresponding valuations). In the case of the tropical Grassmannian $Gr(2,m)$, we prove that the algebraic wall-crossing map is the restriction of a geometric map. In an Appendix by Nathan Ilten, he explains how the geometric wall-crossing phenomenon can also be derived from the perspective of complexity-one $T$-varieties; Ilten also explains the connection to the "combinatorial mutations" studied by Akhtar-Coates-Galkin-Kasprzyk.
Wall-crossings for Hassett descendant potentials

This paper solves the combinatorics relating the intersection theory of $ψ$-classes of Hassett spaces to that of $\overline{\mathcal{M}}_{g,n}$. A generating function for intersection numbers of $ψ$ classes on all Hassett spaces is obtained from the Gromov-Witten potential of a point via a non-invertible transformation of variables. When restricting to diagonal weights, the changes of variables are invertible and explicitly described as polynomial functions. Finally, the comparison of potentials is extended to the level of cycles: the pinwheel cycle potential, a generating function for tautological classes of rational tail type on $\overline{\mathcal{M}}_{g,n}$ is the right instrument to describe the pull-back to $\overline{\mathcal{M}}_{g,n}$ of all monomials of $ψ$ classes on Hassett spaces.
