Combinatorial approach to Andrews-Gordon and Bressoud type identities
We provide combinatorial tools inspired by work of Warnaar to give combinatorial interpretations of the sum sides of the Andrews-Gordon and Bressoud identities. More precisely, we give an explicit weight- and length-preserving bijection between sets related to integer partitions, which provides these interpretations. In passing, we discover the $q$-series version of an identity of Kurşungöz, similar to the Bressoud identity but with opposite parity conditions, which we prove combinatorially using the classical Bressoud identity and our bijection. We also use this bijection to prove combinatorially many identities, some known and other new, of the Andrews-Gordon and Bressoud type.

We show that the Bailey lattice can be extended to a bilateral version in just a few lines from the bilateral Bailey lemma, using a very simple lemma transforming bilateral Bailey pairs relative to $a$ into bilateral Bailey pairs relative to $a/q$. Using this and similar lemmas, we give bilateral versions and simple proofs of other (new and known) Bailey lattices, including a Bailey lattice of Warnaar and the inverses of Bailey lattices of Lovejoy. As consequences of our bilateral point of view, we derive new $m$-versions of the Andrews-Gordon identities, Bressoud's identities, a new companion to Bressoud's identities, and the Bressoud-Göllnitz-Gordon identities. Finally, we give a new elementary proof of another very general identity of Bressoud using one of our Bailey lattices.
Systematic study of Schmidt-type partitions via weighted words
Let $S=(s_n)_{n\geq 1}$ be a sequence with elements in a commutative monoid $(\mathcal{M},+,0)$. In this paper, we provide an explicit formula for $$\sum_{\la} C(\la) q^{\sum_{n\geq 1} \la_n\cdot s_n}$$ where $\la=(\la_1,\ldots)$ run through some subsets of over-partitions, and $C(\la)$ is a certain product of ``colors'' assigned to the parts of $\la$, and $q^s$ is a formal power of $q$ for $s\in M$. This formula allows us not only to retrieve several known Schmidt-type theorems but also to provide new Schmidt-type theorems for non-periodic sequences $S$. For example, when $(M,+,0)=(\mathbb{Z}_{\geq 0},+,0)$, $s_n=1$ if there exists $i\geq 1$ such $n=\{i(i-1)/2+1\}$ and $s_n=0$ otherwise, we obtain the following statement: for all non-negative integer $m$, the number of partitions such that $\sum_{i\geq 1}\la_{i(i-1)/2+1} =m$ is equal to the number of plane partitions of $m$. Furthermore, we introduce a new family of partitions, the block partitions, generalizing the $k$-elongated partitions. From that family of partitions, we provide a generalization of a Schmidt-type theorem due to Andrews and Paule regarding $k$-elongated partitions and establish a link with the Eulerian polynomials.
Characters of level $1$ standard modules of $C_n^{(1)}$ as generating functions for generalised partitions
We give a new simple formula for the energy function of a level $1$ perfect crystal of type $C_n^{(1)}$ introduced by Kang, Kashiwara and Misra. We use this to give several expressions for the characters of level $1$ standard modules as generating functions for different types of partitions. We then relate one of these formulas to the difference conditions in the conjectural partition identity of Capparelli, Meurman, Primc and Primc, and prove that their conjecture is true for all level $1$ standard modules. Finally, we propose a non-specialised generalisation of their conjecture.

For all positive integers $k,l,n$, the Little Glaisher theorem states that the number of partitions of $n$ into parts not divisible by $k$ and occurring less than $l$ times is equal to the number of partitions of $n$ into parts not divisible by $l$ and occurring less than $k$ times. While this refinement of Glaisher theorem is easy to establish by computation of the generating function, there is still no one-to-one canonical correspondence explaining it. Our paper brings an answer to this open problem through an arithmetical approach. Furthermore, in the case $l=2$, we discuss the possibility of constructing a Schur-type companion of the Little Glaisher theorem via the weighted words.

Recent works of Andrews--Newman and Hopkins--Sellers unveil an interesting relation between two partition statistics, the crank and the mex. They state that, for a positive integer $n$, there are as many partitions of $n$ with non-negative crank as partitions of $n$ with odd mex. In this paper, we give a bijective proof of a generalization of this identity provided by Hopkins, Sellers, and Stanton. Our method uses an alternative definition of the Durfee decomposition, whose combinatorial link to the crank was recently studied by Hopkins, Sellers, and Yee.

We study perfect crystals for the standard modules of the affine Lie algebra $A_1^{(1)}$ at all levels using the theory of multi-grounded partitions. We prove a family of partition identities which are reminiscent of the Andrews-Gordon identities and companions to the Meurman-Primc identities, but with simple difference conditions involving absolute values.

In 1997, Bousquet-Mélou and Eriksson stated a broad generalization of Euler's distinct-odd partition theorem, namely the $(k,l)$-Euler theorem. Their identity involved the $(k,l)$-lecture-hall partitions, which, unlike usual difference conditions of partitions in Rogers-Ramanujan type identities, satisfy some ratio constraints. In a 2008 paper, in response to a question suggested by Richard Stanley, Savage and Yee provided a simple bijection for the $l$-lecture-hall partitions (the case $k=l$), whose specialization in $l=2$ corresponds to Sylvester's bijection. Subsequently, as an open question, a generalization of their bijection was suggested for the case $k,l\geq 2$. In the spirit of Savage and Yee's work, we provide and prove in this paper slight variations of the suggested bijection, not only for the case $k,l\geq 2$ but also for the cases $(k,1)$ and $(1,k)$ with $k\geq 4$. Furthermore, we show that our bijections equal the recursive bijections given by Bousquet-Mélou and Eriksson in their recursive proof of the $(k,l)$-lecture hall and finally provide the analogous recursive bijection for the $(k,l)$-Euler theorem.

We introduce a new generalisation of partitions, multi-grounded partitions, related to ground state paths indexed by dominant weights of Lie algebras. We use these to express characters of irreducible highest weight modules of Kac-Moody algebras of affine type as generating functions for multi-grounded partitions. This generalises the approach of our previous paper, where only irreducible highest weight modules with constant ground state paths were considered, to all ground state paths. As an application, we compute the characters of the level $1$ modules of the affine Lie algebras $A_{2n}^{(2)}(n\geq 2)$, $D_{n+1}^{(2)}(n\geq 2)$, $A_{2n-1}^{(1)}(n\geq 3)$, $B_{n}^{(1)}(n\geq 3)$, and $D_{n}^{(1)}(n\geq 4)$.

In a recent work, Keith and Xiong gave a refinement of Glaisher's theorem by using a Sylvester-style bijection. In this paper, we introduce two families of colored partitions, flat and regular partitions, and generalize the bijection of Keith and Xiong to these partitions. We then state two results, the first at degree one, where partitions have parts with primary colors, and the second result at degree two for secondary-colored partitions, using the result of the first paper of this series. These results allow us to easily retrieve the Frenkel-Kac character formulas of level one standard modules for the type $A_{2n}^{(2)}, D_{n+1}^{(2)}$ and $B_n^{(1)}$, and also to make the connection between the result stated in paper one and the representation theory.
Weighted words at degree two, I: Bressoud's algorithm as an energy transfer

In a recent paper, we generalized a partition identity stated by Siladić in his study of the level one standard module of type $A_2^{(2)}$. The proof used weighted words with an arbitrary number of primary colors and all the secondary colors obtained from these primary colors, and a brand new variant of the bijection of Bressoud for Schur's partition identity. In this paper, the first of two, we analyze this variant of Bressoud's algorithm in the framework of statistical mechanics, where an integer partition is viewed as an amount of energy shared, according to certain properties, between several states. This viewpoint allows us to generalize the previous result by considering a more general family of minimal difference conditions. For example, we generalize the Siladić identity to overpartitions. In the second paper, we connect this result to the Glaisher theorem and give some applications to level one perfect crystals.

In $2003$, Alladi, Andrews and Berkovich proved a four-parameter partition identity lying beyond a celebrated identity of Göllnitz. Since then it has been an open problem to extend their work to five or more parameters. In part I of this pair of papers, we took a first step in this direction by giving a bijective proof of a reformulation of their result. We introduced forbidden patterns, bijectively proved a ten-colored partition identity, and then related, by another bijection, our identity to the Alladi-Andrews-Berkovich identity. In this second paper, we state and bijectively prove an $\frac{n(n+1)}{2}$-colored partition identity beyond Göllnitz' theorem for any number $n$ of primary colors, along with the full set of the $\frac{n(n-1)}{2}$ secondary colors as the product of two distinct primary colors, generalizing the identity proved in the first paper. Like the ten-colored partitions, our family of $\frac{n(n+1)}{2}$-colored partitions satisfy some simple minimal difference conditions while avoiding forbidden patterns. Furthermore, the $\frac{n(n+1)}{2}$-colored partitions have some remarkable properties, as they can be uniquely represented by oriented rooted forests which record the steps of the bijection.

In the first paper of this series, we gave infinite families of coloured partition identities which generalise Primc's and Capparelli's classical identities.
In this second paper, we study the representation theoretic consequences of our combinatorial results. First, we show that the difference conditions we defined in our $n^2$-coloured generalisation of Primc's identity, which have a very simple expression, are actually the energy function with values in $\{0,1,2\}$ for the perfect crystal of the tensor product of the vector representation and its dual in $A_{n-1}^{(1)}$.
Then we introduce a new type of partitions, grounded partitions, which allows us to retrieve connections between character formulas and partition generating functions without having to perform a specialisation.
Finally, using the formulas for the generating functions of our generalised partitions, we recover the Kac-Peterson character formula for the characters of all the irreducible highest weight $A_{n-1}^{(1)}$-modules of level $1$, and give a new character formula as a sum of infinite products with obviously positive coefficients in the generators $e^{- α_i} \ (i \in \{0, \dots , n-1\}),$ where the $α_i$'s are the simple roots.

In these two companion papers, we give infinite families of partition identities which generalise Primc's and Capparelli's identities, and study their consequences on the theory of crystal bases of the affine Lie algebra $A_{n-1}^{(1)}.$
In this first paper, we focus on combinatorial aspects. We give a $n^2$-coloured generalisation of Primc's identity by constructing a $n^2 \times n^2$ matrix of difference conditions, Primc's original identities corresponding to $n=2$ and $n=3$. While most coloured partition identities in the literature connect partitions with difference conditions to partitions with congruence conditions, in our case, the natural way to generalise these identities is to relate partitions with difference conditions to coloured Frobenius partitions. This gives a very simple expression for the generating function. With a particular specialisation of the colour variables, our generalisation also yields a partition identity with congruence conditions. Then, using a bijection from our new generalisation of Primc's identity, we deduce a multi-parameter family of identities on $(n^2-1)$-coloured partitions which generalise Capparelli's identity, also in terms of coloured Frobenius partitions. The particular case $n=2$ is Capparelli's identity and the case $n=3$ recovers an identity of Meurman and Primc.
In the second paper, we will focus on crystal theoretic aspects. We will show that the difference conditions we defined in our $n^2$-coloured generalisation of Primc's identity are actually energy functions for certain $A_{n-1}^{(1)}$ crystals. We will then use this result to retrieve the Kac-Peterson character formula and derive a new character formula as a sum of infinite products for all the irreducible highest weight $A_{n-1}^{(1)}$-modules of level $1$.
Beyond Göllnitz' Theorem I: A Bijective Approach

In 2003, Alladi, Andrews and Berkovich proved an identity for partitions where parts occur in eleven colors: four primary colors, six secondary colors, and one quaternary color. Their work answered a longstanding question of how to go beyond a classical theorem of Göllnitz, which uses three primary and three secondary colors. Their main tool was a deep and difficult four parameter $q$-series identity. In this paper we take a different approach. Instead of adding an eleventh quaternary color, we introduce forbidden patterns and give a bijective proof of a ten-colored partition identity lying beyond Göllnitz' theorem. Using a second bijection, we show that our identity is equivalent to the identity of Alladi, Andrews, and Berkovich. From a combinatorial viewpoint, the use of forbidden patterns is more natural and leads to a simpler formulation. In fact, in Part II of this series we will show how our method can be used to go beyond Göllnitz' theorem to any number of primary colors.

In a recent paper, Dousse introduced a refinement of Siladić's theorem on partitions, where parts occur in two primary and three secondary colors. Her proof used the method of weighted words and $q$-difference equations. The purpose of this paper is to give a bijective proof of a generalization of Dousse's theorem from two primary colors to an arbitrary number of primary colors.
