We prove that the mod $2$ Betti numbers of double coverings of a complex hyperplane arrangement complement are combinatorially determined. The proof is based on a relation between the mod $2$ Aomoto complex and the transfer long exact sequence.
Applying the above result to the icosidodecahedral arrangement ($16$ planes in the three dimensional space related to the icosidodecahedron), we conclude that the first homology of the Milnor fiber has non-trivial $2$-torsion.
A Hodge filtration of logarithmic vector fields for well-generated complex reflection groups

Given an irreducible well-generated complex reflection group, we construct an explicit basis for the module of vector fields with logarithmic poles along its reflection arrangement. This construction yields in particular a Hodge filtration of that module. Our approach is based on a detailed analysis of a flat connection applied to the primitive vector field. This generalizes and unifies analogous results for real reflection groups.
Combinatorics of certain abelian Lie group arrangements and chromatic quasi-polynomials

The purpose of this paper is twofold. Firstly, we generalize the notion of characteristic polynomials of hyperplane and toric arrangements to those of certain abelian Lie group arrangements. Secondly, we give two interpretations for the chromatic quasi-polynomials and their constituents through subspace and toric viewpoints.

Hepworth, Willerton, Leinster and Shulman introduced the magnitude homology groups for enriched categories, in particular, for metric spaces. The purpose of this paper is to describe the magnitude homology group of a metric space in terms of order complexes of posets.
In a metric space, an interval (the set of points between two chosen points) has a natural poset structure, which is called the interval poset. Under additional assumptions on sizes of $4$-cuts, we show that the magnitude chain complex can be constructed using tensor products, direct sums and degree shifts from order complexes of interval posets.
We give several applications. First, we show the vanishing of higher magnitude homology groups for convex subsets of the Euclidean space. Second, magnitude homology groups carry the information about the diameter of a hole. Third, we construct a finite graph whose $3$rd magnitude homology group has torsion.

We introduce and study the notion of the $G$-Tutte polynomial for a list $\mathcal{A}$ of elements in a finitely generated abelian group $Γ$ and an abelian group $G$, which is defined by counting the number of homomorphisms from associated finite abelian groups to $G$.
The $G$-Tutte polynomial is a common generalization of the (arithmetic) Tutte polynomial for realizable (arithmetic) matroids, the characteristic quasi-polynomial for integral arrangements, Brändén-Moci's arithmetic version of the partition function of an abelian group-valued Potts model, and the modified Tutte-Krushkal-Renhardy polynomial for a finite CW-complex.
As in the classical case, $G$-Tutte polynomials carry topological and enumerative information (e.g., the Euler characteristic, point counting and the Poincaré polynomial) of abelian Lie group arrangements.
We also discuss differences between the arithmetic Tutte and the $G$-Tutte polynomials related to the axioms for arithmetic matroids and the (non-)positivity of coefficients.

A general vanishing result for the first cohomology group of affine smooth complex varieties with values in rank one local systems is established. This is applied to the determination of the monodromy action on the first cohomology group of the Milnor fiber of some line arrangements, including the monomial arrangement and the exceptional reflection arrangement of type $G_{31}$.

The (extended) Linial arrangement $\mathcal{L}_Φ^m$ is a certain finite truncation of the affine Weyl arrangement of a root system $Φ$ with a parameter $m$. Postnikov and Stanley conjectured that all roots of the characteristic polynomial of $\mathcal{L}_Φ^m$ have the same real part, and this has been proved for the root systems of classical types. In this paper we prove that the conjecture is true for exceptional root systems when the parameter $m$ is sufficiently large. The proof is based on representations of the characteristic quasi-polynomials in terms of Eulerian polynomials.

The Euler characteristic of a semialgebraic set can be considered as a generalization of the cardinality of a finite set. An advantage of semialgebraic sets is that we can define "negative sets" to be the sets with negative Euler characteristics. Applying this idea to posets, we introduce the notion of semialgebraic posets. Using "negative posets", we establish Stanley's reciprocity theorems for order polynomials at the level of Euler characteristics. We also formulate the Euler characteristic reciprocities for chromatic and flow polynomials.
Chromatic functors of graphs
Finite graphs that have a common chromatic polynomial have the same number of regular $n$-colorings. A natural question is whether there exists a natural bijection between regular $n$-colorings. We address this question using a functorial formulation. Let $G$ be a simple graph. Then for each set $X$ we can associate a set of $X$-colorings. This defines a functor, "chromatic functor" from the category of sets with injections to itself. The first main result verifies that two finite graphs determine isomorphic chromatic functors if and only if they have the same chromatic polynomial.
Chromatic functors can be defined for arbitrary, possibly infinite, graphs. This fact enables us to investigate functorial chromatic theory for infinite graphs. We prove that chromatic functors satisfy the Cantor-Bernstein-Schröder property. We also prove that countable connected trees determine isomorphic chromatic functors. Finally, we present a pair of infinite graphs that determine non-isomorphic chromatic functors.

We introduce a partition of (coweight) lattice points inside the dilated fundamental parallelepiped into those of partially closed simplices. This partition can be considered as a generalization and a lattice points interpretation of the classical formula of Worpitzky.
This partition, and the generalized Eulerian polynomial, recently introduced by Lam and Postnikov, can be used to describe the characteristic (quasi)polynomials of Shi and Linial arrangements. As an application, we prove that the characteristic quasi-polynomial of the Shi arrangement turns out to be a polynomial. We also present several results on the location of zeros of characteristic polynomials, related to a conjecture of Postnikov and Stanley. In particular, we verify the "functional equation" of the characteristic polynomial of the Linial arrangement for any root system, and give partial affirmative results on "Riemann hypothesis" for the root systems of type $E_6, E_7, E_8$, and $F_4$.

The resonant band is a useful notion for the computation of the nontrivial monodromy eigenspaces of the Milnor fiber of a real line arrangement. In this article, we develop the resonant band description for the cohomology of the Aomoto complex. As an application, we prove that real 4-nets do not exist.

We give a vanishing theorem for the monodromy eigenspaces of the Milnor fibers of complex line arrangements. By applying the modular bound of the local system cohomology groups given by Papadima-Suciu, the result is deduced from the vanishing of the cohomology of certain Aomoto complex over finite fields. In order to prove this, we introduce degeneration homomorphisms of Orlik-Solomon algebras.

We give a new algorithm computing local system cohomology groups for complexified real line arrangements. Using it, we obtain several conditions for the first local system cohomology to vanish and to be at most one-dimensional, which generalize a result by Cohen-Dimca-Orlik. The conditions are described in terms of discrete geometric structures of real figures. The proof is based on a recent study on minimal cell structures. We also compute the characteristic variety of the deleted $B_3$-arrangement.

We study Milnor fibers of complexified real line arrangements. We give a new algorithm computing monodromy eigenspaces of the first cohomology. The algorithm is based on the description of minimal CW-complexes homotopic to the complements, and uses the real figure, that is, the adjacency relations of chambers. It enables us to generalize a vanishing result of Libgober, give new upper-bounds and characterize the $A_3$-arrangement in terms of non-triviality of Milnor monodromy.

Ziegler showed that free arrangements have free restricted multiarrangements (multirestrictions). After Ziegler's work, several results concerning "reverse direction", namely characterizing freeness of an arrangement via that of multirestriction, have appeared. In this paper, we prove that the second Betti number of the arrangement plays a crucial role.

The purpose of this paper is applying minimality of hyperplane arrangements to local system cohomology groups. It is well known that twisted cohomology groups with coefficients in a generic rank one local system vanish except in the top degree, and bounded chambers form a basis of the remaining cohomology group. We determine precisely when this phenomenon happens for two-dimensional arrangements.
