On binomial edge ideals of corona of graphs
For a simple graph $G$, let $J_G$ denote the corresponding binomial edge ideal. This article considers the binomial edge ideal of the corona product of two connected graphs $G$ and $H$. The corona product of $G$ and $H$, denoted by $G\circ H$, is a construction where each vertex of $G$ is connected (via the coning-off) to an entire copy of $H$. This is a direct generalization of a cone construction. Previous studies have shown that for $J_{G \circ H}$ to be Cohen-Macaulay, both $G$ and $H$ must be complete graphs. However, there are no general formulae for the dimension, depth, or Castelnuovo-Mumford regularity of $J_{G\circ H}$ for all graphs $G$ and $H$. In this article, we provide a general formula for the dimension, depth and Castelnuovo-Mumford regularity of the binomial edge ideals of certain corona and corona-type (somewhat a generalization of corona) products of special interests. Additionally, we study the Cohen-Macaulayness, unmixedness and related properties of binomial edge ideals corresponding to above class of graphs. We have also added a short note on the reduction of the Bolognini-Macchia-Strazzanti Conjecture to all graphs with a diameter of $3$.

Characterizing forbidden pairs for spanning $\varTheta$-subgraphs of 2-connected graphs
Let $\mathcal{F}$ be a set of connected graphs, and let $G$ be a graph. We say that $G$ is \emph{$\mathcal{F}$-free} if it does not contain $F$ as an induced subgraph for all $F\in\mathcal{F}$, and we call $\mathcal{F}$ a forbidden pair if $|\mathcal{F}|=2$. A \emph{$\varTheta$-graph} is the graph consisting of three internally disjoint paths with the same pair of end-vertices. If the $\varTheta$-subgraph $T$ contains all vertices of $G$, then we call $T$ a \emph{spanning $\varTheta$-subgraph} of $G$. In this paper, we characterize all pairs of connected graphs $R,S$ such that every 2-connected $\{R,S\}$-free graph has a spanning $\varTheta$-subgraph. In order to obtain this result, we also characterize all minimal 2-connected non-cycle claw-free graphs without spanning $\varTheta$-subgraphs.

A Max-Min problem on spectral radius and connectedness of graphs
In the past decades, many scholars concerned which edge-extremal problems have spectral analogues? Recently, Wang, Kang and Xue showed an interesting result on $F$-free graphs [J. Combin. Theory Ser. B 159 (2023) 20--41]. In this paper, we study the above problem on critical graphs.Let $P$ be a property defined on a family $\mathbb{G}$ of graphs. A graph $G$ in $\mathbb{G}$ is said to be $P$-critical,if it has the property $P$ but $G-e$ no longer has for any edge $e\in E(G)$. Especially, a graph is minimally $k$-(edge)-connected,if it is $k$-connected (respectively, $k$-edge connected) and deleting an arbitrary edge always leaves a graph which is not $k$-connected (respectively, $k$-edge-connected). An interesting Max-Min problem asks what is the maximal spectral radius of an $n$-vertex minimally $k$-(edge)-connected graphs? In 2019, Chen and Guo [Discrete Math. 342 (2019) 2092--2099] gave the answer for $k=2$. In 2021, Fan, Goryainov and Lin [Discrete Appl. Math. 305 (2021) 154--163] determined the extremal spectral radius for minimally $3$-connected graphs. We obtain some structural properties of minimally $k$-(edge)-connected graphs. Furthermore, we solve the above Max-Min problem for $k\geq3$, which implies that every minimally $k$-(edge)-connected graph with maximal spectral radius also has maximal number of edges. Finally, a general problem is posed for further research.

List rainbow connection number of graphs
An edge-coloured path is rainbow if all of its edges have distinct colours. Let $G$ be a connected graph. The rainbow connection number of $G$, denoted by $rc(G)$, is the minimum number of colours in an edge-colouring of $G$ such that, any two vertices are connected by a rainbow path. The strong rainbow connection number of $G$, denoted by $src(G)$, is the minimum number of colours in an edge-colouring of $G$ such that, any two vertices are connected by a rainbow geodesic (i.e., a path of shortest length). These two notions of connectivity of graphs were introduced by Chartrand, Johns, McKeon and Zhang in 2008. In this paper, we introduce the list rainbow connection number $rc^\ell(G)$, and the list strong rainbow connection number $src^\ell(G)$. These two parameters are the versions of $rc(G)$ and $src(G)$ that involve list edge-colourings. Among our results, we will determine the list rainbow connection number and list strong rainbow connection number of some specific graphs. We will also characterise all pairs of positive integers $a$ and $b$ such that, there exists a connected graph $G$ with $src(G)=a$ and $src^\ell(G)=b$, and similarly for the pair $rc^\ell$ and $src^\ell$. Finally, we propose the question of whether or not we have $rc(G)=rc^\ell(G)$, for all connected graphs $G$.

A quantitative way to e-positivity of trees
In 2020, Dahlberg, She, and van Willigenburg conjectured that the chromatic symmetric function of any tree with maximum degree at least 4 is not e-positive. Zheng and Tom verified this conjecture for all trees with maximum degree at least 5 and spiders with maximum degree 4, and in their proofs the following necessary condition given by Wolfgang plays an important role: every connected graph having e-positive chromatic symmetric function must contain a connected partition of every type. In order to make further progress on this conjecture, we refine Wolfgang's result in a quantitative way. At first, we give an explicit formula for the e-coefficients of trees in terms of their connected partitions, by which e-positivity is equivalent to a series of inequalities for the numbers of connected partitions. Based on this formula, we present several necessary conditions on the numbers of connected partitions or acyclic orientations for trees to be e-positive. These necessary conditions turn out to be characterizations on the structure of e-positive trees, and as sample applications we prove the non-e-positivity of several classes of trees with maximum degree 3 or 4. We further make more discussions and calculations on trees with maximum degree 4 and having a connected partition of every type, which inspire us to come up with a list of open problems towards the final resolution of the above conjecture.

Bounds on Independent Isolation in Graphs
An isolating set of a graph is a set of vertices $S$ such that, if $S$ and its neighborhood is removed, only isolated vertices remain; and the isolation number is the minimum size of such a set. It is known that for every connected graph apart from $K_2$ and $C_5$, the isolation number is at most one-third the order and indeed such a graph has three disjoint isolating sets. In this paper we consider isolating sets where $S$ is required to be an independent set and call the minimum size thereof the independent isolation number. While for general graphs of order $n$ the independent isolation number can be arbitrarily close to $n/2$, we show that in bipartite graphs the vertex set can be partitioned into three disjoint independent isolating sets, whence the independent isolation number is at most $n/3$; while for $3$-colorable graphs the maximum value of the independent isolation number is $(n+1)/3$. We also provide a bound for $k$-colorable graphs.
Homotopy types of complexes of hyperplanes in quasi-median graphs and applications to right-angled Artin groups
In this article, we prove that, given two finite connected graphs $Γ_1$ and $Γ_2$, if the two right-angled Artin groups $A(Γ_1)$ and $A(Γ_2)$ are quasi-isometric, then the infinite pointed sums $\bigvee_\mathbb{N} Γ_1^{\bowtie}$ and $\bigvee_\mathbb{N} Γ_2^{\bowtie}$ are homotopy equivalent, where $Γ_i^{\bowtie}$ denotes the simplicial complex whose vertex-set is $Γ_i$ and whose simplices are given by joins. These invariants are extracted from a study, of independent interest, of the homotopy types of several complexes of hyperplanes in quasi-median graphs (such as one-skeleta of CAT(0) cube complexes). For instance, given a quasi-median graph $X$, the \emph{crossing complex} $\mathrm{Cross}^\triangle(X)$ is the simplicial complex whose vertices are the hyperplanes (or $θ$-classes) of $X$ and whose simplices are collections of pairwise transverse hyperplanes. When $X$ has no cut-vertex, we show that $\mathrm{Cross}^\triangle(X)$ is homotopy equivalent to the pointed sum of the links of all the vertices in the prism-completion $X^\square$ of $X$.

On the coefficients of Tutte polynomials with one variable at 1
Denote the Tutte polynomial of a graph $G$ and a matroid $M$ by $T_G(x,y)$ and $T_M(x,y)$ respectively. $T_G(x,1)$ and $T_G(1,y)$ were generalized to hypergraphs and further extended to integer polymatroids by Kálmán \cite{Kalman} in 2013, called interior and exterior polynomials respectively. Let $G$ be a $(k+1)$-edge connected graph of order $n$ and size $m$, and let $g=m-n+1$. Guan et al. (2023) \cite{Guan} obtained the coefficients of $T_G(1,y)$: \[[y^j]T_G(1,y)=\binom{m-j-1}{n-2} \text{ for } g-k\leq j\leq g,\] which was deduced from coefficients of the exterior polynomial of polymatroids. Recently, Chen and Guo (2025) \cite{Chen} further obtained \[[y^j]T_G(1,y)=\binom{m-j-1}{n-2}-\sum_{i=k+1}^{g-j}\binom{m-j-i-1}{n-2}|\mathcal{EC}_i(G)|\] for $g-3(k+1)/2< j\leq g$, where $\mathcal{EC}_i(G)$ denotes the set of all minimal edge cuts with $i$ edges. In this paper, for any matroid $M=(X,rk)$ we first obtain \[[y^j]T_M(1,y)=\sum_{t=j}^{|X|-r}(-1)^{t-j}\binom{t}{j}σ_{r+t}(M),\] where $σ_{r+t}(M)$ denotes the number of spanning sets with $r+t$ elements in $M$ and $r=rk(M)$. Moveover, the expression of $[x^i]T_M(x,1)$ is obtained immediately from the duality of the Tutte polynomial. As applications of our results, we generalize the two aforementioned results on graphs to the setting of matroids. This not only resolves two open problems posed by Chen and Guo in \cite{Chen} but also provides a purely combinatorial proof that is significantly simpler than their original proofs.

3-path-connectivity of bubble-sort star graphs
Let $G$ be a simple connected graph with vertex set $V(G)$ and edge set $E(G)$. Let $T$ be a subset of $ V(G)$ with cardinality $|T|\geq2$. A path connecting all vertices of $T$ is called a $T$-path of $G$. Two $T$-paths $P_i$ and $P_j$ are said to be internally disjoint if $V(P_i)\cap V(P_j)=T$ and $E(P_i)\cap E(P_j)=\emptyset$. Denote by $π_G(T)$ the maximum number of internally disjoint $T$- paths in G. Then for an integer $\ell$ with $\ell\geq2$, the $\ell$-path-connectivity $π_\ell(G)$ of $G$ is formulated as $\min\{π_G(T)\,|\,T\subseteq V(G)$ and $|T|=\ell\}$. In this paper, we study the $3$-path-connectivity of $n$-dimensional bubble-sort star graph $BS_n$. By deeply analyzing the structure of $BS_n$, we show that $π_3(BS_n)=\lfloor\frac{3n}2\rfloor-3$, for any $n\geq3$.
On the $Q$-polynomial property of bipartite graphs admitting a uniform structure
Let $Γ$ denote a finite, connected graph with vertex set $X$. Fix $x \in X$ and let $\varepsilon \ge 3$ denote the eccentricity of $x$. For mutually distinct scalars $\{θ^*_i\}_{i=0}^\varepsilon$ define a diagonal matrix $A^*=A^*(θ^*_0, θ^*_1, \ldots, θ^*_{\varepsilon}) \in M_X(\mathbb{R})$ as follows: for $y \in X$ we let $(A^*)_{yy} = θ^*_{\partial(x,y)}$, where $\partial$ denotes the shortest path length distance function of $Γ$. We say that $A^*$ is a dual adjacency matrix candidate of $Γ$ with respect to $x$ if the adjacency matrix $A \in M_X(\mathbb{R})$ of $Γ$ and $A^*$ satisfy $$ A^3 A^* - A^* A^3+(β+1)( A A^* A^2 - A^2 A^* A)= γ(A^2A^*-A^*A^2)+ρ( A A^* - A^* A) $$ for some scalars $β, γ, ρ\in \mathbb{R}$. Assume now that $Γ$ is uniform with respect to $x$ in the sense of Terwilliger [Coding theory and design theory, Part I, IMA Vol. Math. Appl., 20, 193-212 (1990)]. In this paper, we give sufficient conditions on the uniform structure of $Γ$, such that $Γ$ admits a dual adjacency matrix candidate with respect to $x$. As an application of our results, we show that the full bipartite graphs of dual polar graphs are $Q$-polynomial.

The minimum number of vertices and edges of connected graphs with ind-match$(G) = p$, min-match$(G) = q$ and match$(G) = r$
Let ind-match$(G)$, min-match$(G)$ and match$(G)$ denote the induced matching number, minimum matching number and matching number of a graph $G$, respectively. It is known that ind-match$(G) \leq $ min-match$(G) \leq {\rm match}(G) \leq$ 2min-match$(G)$ holds. In the present paper, we investigate the minimum number of vertices and edges of connencted simple graphs $G$ with ind-match$(G) = p$, min-match$(G) = q$ and ${\rm match}(G) = r$ for pair of integers $p, q, r$ such that $1 \leq p \leq q \leq r \leq 2q$.
Arithmetical Structures On Fan Graphs
In this paper, we study the arithmetical structures on Fan Graphs Fn. Let G be a finite and connected graph. An arithmetical structure on G is a pair (d, r) of positive integer vectors such that r is primitive (the greatest common divisor of its coefficients is 1) and (diag(d)-A)r = 0, where A represents the adjacency matrix of G. This work explores the combinatorial properties of the arithmetical structures associated with Fn. Further, we discuss the arrow-star graph, a structure derived from the fan graph, along with its properties. Additionally, we investigate the critical group linked to each such structure on Fn.
Invitation to the subpath number
In this paper we count all the subpaths of a given graph G; including the subpaths of length zero, and we call this quantity the subpath number of G. The subpath number is related to the extensively studied number of subtrees, as it can be considered as counting subtrees with the additional requirement of maximum degree being two. We first give the explicit formula for the subpath number of trees and unicyclic graphs. We show that among connected graphs on the same number of vertices, the minimum of the subpath number is attained for any tree and the maximum for the complete graph. Further, we show that the complete bipartite graph with partite sets of almost equal size maximizes the subpath number among all bipartite graphs. The explicit formula for cycle chains, i.e. graphs in which two consecutive cycles share a single edge, is also given. This family of graphs includes the unbranched catacondensed benzenoids which implies a possible application of the result in chemistry. The paper is concluded with several directions for possible further research where several conjectures are provided.
Locally connected graphs: metric properties
In this work we show that any connected locally connected graph defines a metric space having at least as many lines as vertices with only three exception: the complete multipartite graphs $K_{1,2,2}$, $K_{2,2,2}$ and $K_{2,2,2,2}$. This proves that this class fulfills a conjecture, proposed by Chen and Chvátal, saying that any metric space on n points has at least n lines or a line containing all the points.

Connected equitably $Δ$-colorable realizations with $k$-factors
A graph $G$ is said to be equitably $c$-colorable if its vertices can be partitioned into $c$ independent sets that pairwise differ in size by at most one. Chen, Lih, and Wu conjectured that every connected graph $G$ with maximum degree $Δ(G)\geq 2$ has an equitable coloring with $Δ(G)$ colors, except when $G$ is complete, an odd cycle, or a balanced bipartite graph with odd sized partitions. Suppose $G$ is a connected graph with a $k$-factor (a regular spanning subgraph) $F$ such that $G$ is not complete, a $1$-factor, nor an odd cycle. When $k\geq 1$ we demonstrate that there is a connected $(k-1)$ edge-connected equitably $Δ(G)$-colorable graph $H$ with a $k$-factor $F'$ such that $G-E(F)=H-E(F')$. If we drop the requirement that $G-E(F)=H-E(F')$, then we can say more. Considering the non-increasing degree sequence $π=(d_{1},\ldots, d_{n})$ of $G$ where $d_{i}=deg_{G}(v_{i})$ for all vertices $\{v_{1},\ldots,v_{n}\}$ of $G$, we call $m(π)=\max\{i|d_{i}\geq i\}$ the strong index of $π$. For $k\geq 0$, we can show that for every $$c\geq \max_{l\leq m(π)}\bigg\{\bigg\lfloor\frac{d_{l}+l}{2}\bigg\rfloor\bigg\}+1$$ we can find a connected $(k-1)$ edge-connected equitably $c$-colorable realization $H$ of $π$ that has a $k$-factor. In a third theorem we show that if $d_{d_{1}-d_{n}+1}\geq d_{1}-d_{n}+k-1$, then some realization of $π$ has a $k$-factor. Together, these three theorems allow us to prove that for all $k$, there is a connected equitably $Δ(G)$-colorable realization $H$ of $π$ with a $k$-factor. Thus, giving support to the validity of the Chen-Lih-Wu Conjecture.
Realizing degree sequences with $\mathcal S_3$-connected graphs
A graph $G$ is $\mathcal S_3$-connected if, for any mapping $β: V (G) \mapsto {\mathbb Z}_3$ with $\sum_{v\in V(G)} β(v)\equiv 0\pmod3$, there exists a strongly connected orientation $D$ satisfying $d^{+}_D(v)-d^{-}_D(v)\equiv β(v)\pmod{3}$ for any $v \in V(G)$. It is known that $\mathcal S_3$-connected graphs are contractible configurations for the property of flow index strictly less than three. In this paper, we provide a complete characterization of graphic sequences that have an $\mathcal{S}_{3}$-connected realization: A graphic sequence $π=(d_1,\, \ldots,\, d_n )$ has an $\mathcal S_3$-connected realization if and only if $\min \{d_1,\, \ldots,\, d_n\} \ge 4$ and $\sum^n_{i=1}d_i \ge 6n - 4$. Consequently, every graphic sequence $π=(d_1,\, \ldots,\, d_n )$ with $\min \{d_1,\, \ldots,\, d_n\} \ge 6$ has a realization $G$ with flow index strictly less than three. This supports a conjecture of Li, Thomassen, Wu and Zhang [European J. Combin., 70 (2018) 164-177] that every $6$-edge-connected graph has flow index strictly less than three.
Indicated list colouring game on graphs
Given a graph $G$ and a list assignment $L$ for $G$, the indicated $L$-colouring game on $G$ is played by two players: Ann and Ben. In each round, Ann chooses an uncoloured vertex $v$, and Ben colours $v$ with a colour from $L(v)$ that is not used by its coloured neighbours. If all vertices are coloured, then Ann wins the game. Otherwise after a finite number of rounds, there remains an uncoloured vertex $v$ such that all colours in $L(v)$ have been used by its coloured neighbours, Ben wins. We say $G$ is indicated $L$-colourable if Ann has a winning strategy for the indicated $L$-colouring game on $G$. For a mapping $g: V(G) \to \mathbb{N}$, we say $G$ is indicated $g$-choosable if $G$ is indicated $L$-colourable for every list assignment $L$ with $|L(v)| \ge g(v)$ for each vertex $v$, and $G$ is indicated degree-choosable if $G$ is indicated $g$-choosable for $g(v) =d_G(v)$ (the degree of $v$). This paper proves that a graph $G$ is not indicated degree-choosable if and only if $G$ is an expanded Gallai-tree - a graph whose maximal connected induced subgraphs with no clique-cut are complete graphs or blow-ups of odd cycles, along with a technical condition (see Definition \ref{def-egt}). This leads to a linear-time algorithm that determines if a graph is indicated degree-choosable. A connected graph $G$ is called an IC-Brooks graph if its indicated chromatic number equals $Δ(G)+1$. Every IC-Brooks graph is a regular expanded Gallai-tree. We show that if $r \le 3$, then every $r$-regular expanded Gallai-tree is an IC-Brooks graph. For $r \ge 4$, there are $r$-regular expanded Gallai-trees that are not IC-Brooks graphs. We give a characterization of IC-Brooks graphs, and present a linear-time algorithm that determines if a given graph of bounded maximum degree is an IC-Brooks graph.

An efficient algorithm for generating transmission irregular trees
The transmission of a vertex in a connected graph is the sum of distances from that vertex to all the other vertices. A connected graph is transmission irregular if any two distinct vertices have different transmissions. We present an efficient algorithm that generates all the transmission irregular trees up to a given order, up to isomorphism.

The least balanced graphs and trees
Given a connected graph, the principal eigenvector of the adjacency matrix (often called the Perron vector) can be used to assign positive weights to the vertices. A natural way to measure the homogeneousness of this vector is by considering the ratio of its $\ell^1$ and $\ell^2$ norms. It is easy to see that the most balanced graphs in this sense (i.e., the ones with the largest ratio) are the regular graphs. What about the least balanced graphs with the smallest ratio? It was conjectured by Rücker, Rücker and Gutman that, for any given $n \geq 6$, among $n$-vertex connected graphs the smallest ratio is achieved by the complete graph $K_4$ with a single path $P_{n-4}$ attached to one of its vertices. In this paper we confirm this conjecture. We also verify the analogous conjecture for trees: for any given $n \geq 8$, among $n$-vertex trees the smallest ratio is achieved by the star graph $S_5$ with a path $P_{n-5}$ attached to its central vertex.

Median eigenvalues of subcubic graphs
We show that the median eigenvalues of every connected graph of maximum degree at most three, except for the Heawood graph, are at most $1$ in absolute value, resolving open problems posed by Fowler and Pisanski, and by Mohar.
