Laplacian Spectrum of Super Graphs defined on Certain Non-abelian Groups
Given a graph $A$ on a group $G$ and an equivalence relation $B$ on $G$, the $B$ super$A$ graph, whose vertex set is $G$ and two vertices $g$, $h$ are adjacent if and only if there exist $g^{\prime} \in[g]$ and $h^{\prime} \in[h]$ such that $g^{\prime}$ and $h^{\prime}$ are adjacent in $A$. Recently, Dalal \emph{et al.} (Spectrum of super commuting graphs of some finite groups, \textit{Computational and Applied Mathematics}, 43(6):348, 2024) obtain the Laplacian spectrum of supercommuting graphs of certain non-abelian groups including the dihedral group and the generalized quaternion group. In this paper, we continue the study of Laplacian spectrum of certian $B$ super$A$ graphs. We obtain the Laplacian spectrum of conjugacy superenhanced power graphs of certain non-abelian groups, namely: dihedral group, generalized quaternion group and semidihedral group. Moreover to enhance the work of Dalal \emph{et al}, we obtain the Laplacian spectrum of conjugacy supercommuting graph of semidihedral group. We prove that graphs considered in this paper are $L$-integral.
Associating hypergraphs defined on loops
In this paper, we define a new hypergraph $\mathcal{H(V,E)}$ on a loop $L$, where $\mathcal{V}$ is the set of points of the loop $L$ and $\mathcal{E}$ is the set of hyperedges $e=\{x,y,z\}$ such that $x,y$ and $z$ associate in the order they are written. We call this hypergraph as the associating hypergraph on a loop $L$. We study certain properites of associating hypergraphs on the Moufang loop $M(D_n,2)$, where $D_n$ denotes the dihedral group of order $2n$.
Some Properties of Order-Divisor Graphs of Finite Groups
This article investigates the properties of order-divisor graphs associated with finite groups. An order-divisor graph of a finite group is an undirected graph in which the set of vertices includes all elements of the group, and two distinct vertices with different orders are adjacent if the order of one vertex divides the order of the other. We prove some beautiful results in order-divisor graphs of finite groups. The primary focus is on examining the girth, degree of vertices, and size of the order-divisor graph. In particular, we provide a comprehensive description of these parameters for the order-divisor graphs of finite cyclic groups and dihedral groups.
Combinatorics of the irreducible components of $\mathcal{H}_n^Γ$ in type $D$ and $E$
In this article, we give a combinatorial model in terms of symmetric cores of the indexing set of the irreducible components of $\mathcal{H}_n^Γ$ (the $Γ$-fixed points of the Hilbert scheme of $n$ points in $\mathbb{C}^2$) containing a monomial ideal, whenever $Γ$ is a finite subgroup of $\mathrm{SL}_2(\mathbb{C})$ isomorphic to the binary dihedral group. Moreover, we show that if $Γ$ is a subgroup of $\mathrm{SL}_2(\mathbb{C})$ isomorphic to the binary tetrahedral group, to the binary octahedral group or to the binary icosahedral group, then the $Γ$-fixed points of $\mathcal{H}_n$ which are also fixed under $\mathbb{T}_1$, the maximal diagonal torus of $\mathrm{SL}_2(\mathbb{C})$, are in fact $\mathrm{SL}_2(\mathbb{C})$-fixed points. Finally, we prove that in that case, the irreducible components of $\mathcal{H}_n^Γ$ containing a $\mathbb{T}_1$-fixed point are of dimension $0$.
Weak Freiman isomorphisms and sequencings of small sets
In this paper, we introduce a weakening of the Freiman isomorphisms between subsets of non necessarily abelian groups.
Inspired by the breakthrough result of Kravitz, [14], on cyclic groups, as a first application, we prove that any subset of size $k$ of the dihedral group $D_{2m}$ (and, more in general, of a class of semidirect products) is sequenceable, provided that the prime factors of $m$ are larger than $k!$. Also, a refined bound of $k!/2$ for the size of the prime factors of $m$ can be obtained for cyclic groups $\mathbb{Z}_m$, slightly improving the result of [14]. Then, applying again the concept of weak Freiman isomorphism, we show that any subset of size $k$ of the dicyclic group $\mathrm{Dic}_{m}$ is sequenceable, provided that the prime factors of $m$ are larger than $k^k$.
On Isomorphisms of Tetravalent Cayley Digraphs over Dihedral Groups
Let $m$ be a positive integer. A group $G$ is said to be an $m$-DCI-group or an $m$-CI-group if $G$ has the $k$-DCI property or $k$-CI property for all positive integers $k$ at most $m$, respectively. Let $G$ be a dihedral group of order $2n$ with $n\geq 3$. Qu and Yu proved that $G$ is an $m$-DCI-group or $m$-CI-group, for every $m\in \{1,2,3\}$, if and only if $n$ is odd. In this paper, it is shown that $G$ is a $4$-DCI-group if and only if $n$ is odd and not divisible by $9$, and $G$ is a $4$-CI-group if and only if $n$ is odd.
Strong External Difference Families and Classification of $α$-valuations
One method of constructing $(a^2+1, 2,a, 1)$-SEDFs (i.e., strong external difference families) in $\mathbb{Z}_{a^2+1}$ makes use of $α$-valuations of complete bipartite graphs $K_{a,a}$. We explore this approach and we provide a classification theorem which shows that all such $α$-valuations can be constructed recursively via a sequence of ``blow-up'' operations. We also enumerate all $(a^2+1, 2,a, 1)$-SEDFs in $\mathbb{Z}_{a^2+1}$ for $a \leq 14$ and we show that all these SEDFs are equivalent to $α$-valuations via affine transformations. Whether this holds for all $a > 14$ as well is an interesting open problem. We also study SEDFs in dihedral groups, where we show that two known constructions are equivalent.
The Generating graph of Dicyclic Groups
For a group $G,$ the generating graph of $G,$ denoted by $Γ(G).$ We define $Q_n=\langle x,y: x^{2n}=y^4=1, x^n=y^2,y^{-1}xy=x^{-1}\rangle,$ the dicyclic group of order $4n.$ This paper primarily delves into exploring the graph characteristics and spectral properties of various matrices associated with $Γ(Q_n)$. Specifically, we determine the complete spectrum of the adjacency, Laplacian, distance, and eccentricity matrices. Additionally, we completely determine the spectrum pertaining to the distance and eccentricity matrices of the dihedral group of order $2n$, denoted as $D_n$.
Regular set in Cayley sum mgraph
A subset $C$ of the vertex set of a graph $Γ$ is said to be $(α,β)$-regular if $C$ induces an $α$-regular subgraph and every vertex outside $C$ is adjacent to exactly $β$ vertices in $C$. In particular, if $C$ is an $(α,β)$-regular set in some Cayley sum graph of a finite group $G$ with connection set $S$, then $C$ is called an $(α,β)$-regular set of $G$ and a $(0,1)$-regular set is called a perfect code of $G$. By Sq$(G)$ and NSq$(G)$ we mean the set of all square elements and non-square elements of $G$. As one of the main results in this note, we show that a subgroup $H$ of a finite abelian group $G$ is an $(α,β)$-regular set of $G$, for each $0\leq α\leq |$NSq$(G)\cap H|$ and $0\leq β\leq \mathcal{L}(H)$, where $\mathcal{L}(H)=|H|$, if Sq$(G) \subseteq H$ and $\mathcal{L}(H)=|$NSq$(G)\cap H|$, otherwise. As a consequence of our result we give a very brief proof for the main results in \cite{mama, ma}. Also, we consider the dihedral group $G=D_{2n} $ and for each subgroup $H $ of $G$, by giving an appropriate connection set $S$, we determine each possibility for $(α, β)$, where $H$ is an $(α,β)$-regular set of $G$.
Non-Isomorphic Groups with Isomorphic Power and Commuting Graphs
The power graph of a group $G$ is a graph with vertex set $G$, in which two vertices are adjacent if one is some power of the other. In the commuting graph, with $G$ as the vertex set, two vertices are joined by an edge if they commute in $G$. The enhanced power graph of a group $G$ is a graph with vertex set $G$ and an edge joining two vertices $x$ and $y$ if $\langle x,y\rangle$ is cyclic. In this paper, we answer a question posed by P. J. Cameron, namely, if there exist groups $G$ and $H$ such that the power graph of $G$ is isomorphic to the commuting graph of $H$. We show that the answer is yes if $G$ is the generalised quaternion group and $H$ is the dihedral group. We also show that the enhanced power graph of the dicyclic group is isomorphic to the commuting graph of the dihedral group.
Dihedral-product groups of nonabelian simple groups
Given a finite group $G$, a group $X$ is called a dihedral-product group of $G$ if $X=GD$ where $D$ is a finite dihedral group. In particular, it is called a dihedral-skew product group of $G$ if $G\cap D=1$ and $D$ has a trivial core in $X$. In this paper, dihedral-skew product groups of all nonabelian simple groups are classified and dihedral-product groups of all nonabelian simple groups are characterized.
Quasi-diagrams and gentle algebras
Any gentle algebra $A$ with one maximal path corresponds to a unique quasi-diagram $α$. We introduce the regularity for $α$, and show that $A$ has finite global dimension if and only if $α$ is regular. We characterize regular quasi-diagrams which remain regular under the dihedral group action. We prove that the set of maximal chord diagrams is the "biggest" one among the sets closed under taking Koszul dual and rotations.
The classification of two-distance transitive dihedrants
A vertex transitive graph $Γ$ is said to be $2$-distance transitive if for each vertex $u$, the group of automorphisms of $Γ$ fixing the vertex $u$ acts transitively on the set of vertices at distance $1$ and $2$ from $u$, while $Γ$ is said to be $2$-arc transitive if its automorphism group is transitive on the set of $2$-arcs. Then $2$-arc transitive graphs are $2$-distance transitive. The classification of $2$-arc transitive Cayley graphs on dihedral groups was given by Du, Malnič and Marušič in [Classification of 2-arc-transitive dihedrants, J. Combin. Theory Ser. B 98 (2008), 1349--1372]. In this paper, it is shown that a connected 2-distance transitive Cayley graph on the dihedral group of order $2n$ is either $2$-arc transitive, or isomorphic to the complete multipartite graph $K_{m[b]}$ for some $m\geq3$ and $b\geq2$ with $mb=2n$.
List Coloring of some Cayley graphs using Kernel perfections
In this paper, we try to determine exact or bounds on the choosability, or list chromatic numbers of some Cayley graphs, typically some Unitary Cayley graphs and Cayley graphs on Dihedral groups.
Cyclic sieving on noncrossing (1,2)-configurations

Verifying a suspicion of Propp and Reiner concerning the cyclic sieving phenomenon (CSP), M. Thiel introduced a Catalan object called noncrossing $(1,2)$-configurations (denoted by $X_n$), which is a class of set partitions of $[n-1]$. More precisely, Thiel proved that, with a natural action of the cyclic group $C_{n-1}$ on $X_n$, the triple $\left(X_n,C_{n-1},\text{Cat}_n(q)\right)$ exhibits the CSP, where $\text{Cat}_n(q):=\frac{1}{[n+1]_q}\begin{bmatrix}
2n\\ n
\end{bmatrix}_q$ is MacMahon's $q$-Catalan number. Recently, in a study of the fermionic diagonal coinvariant ring $FDR_n$, J. Kim found a combinatorial basis for $FDR_n$ indexed by $X_n$. In this paper, we continue to study $X_n$ and obtain the following results:
(1) We define a statistic $cwt$ on $X_n$ whose generating function is $\text{Cat}_n(q)$, which answers a problem of Thiel.
(2) We show that $\text{Cat}_n(q)$ is equivalent to $$\sum_{\substack{k,x,y\\2k+x+y=n-1}}\begin{bmatrix}
n-1
2k,x,y
\end{bmatrix}_q\text{Cat}_k
(q)q^{k+\binom{x}{2}+\binom{y}{2}+\binom{n}{2}}$$
modulo $q^{n-1}-1$, which answers a problem of Kim. As mentioned by Kim, this result leads to a representation theoretic proof of the above cyclic sieving result of Thiel.
(3) We consider the dihedral sieving, a generalization of the CSP, which was recently introduced by Rao and Suk. Under a natural action of the dihedral group $I_2(n-1)$ (for even $n$), we prove a dihedral sieving result on $X_n$.
The conjugacy diameters of non-abelian finite $p$-groups with cyclic maximal subgroups
Let $G$ be a group. A subset $S$ of $G$ is said to normally generate $G$ if $G$ is the normal closure of $S$ in $G.$ In this case, any element of $G$ can be written as a product of conjugates of elements of $S$ and their inverses. If $g\in G$ and $S$ is a normally generating subset of $G,$ then we write $\| g\|_{S}$ for the length of a shortest word in $\mbox{Conj}_{G}(S^{\pm 1}):=\{h^{-1}sh | h\in G, s\in S \, \mbox{or} \, s{^{-1}}\in S \}$ needed to express $g.$ For any normally generating subset $S$ of $G,$ we write $\|G\|_{S} =\mbox{sup}\{\|g\|_{S} \,|\,\, g\in G\}.$ Moreover, we write $Δ(G)$ for the supremum of all $\|G\|_{S},$ where $S$ is a finite normally generating subset of $G,$ and we call $Δ(G)$ the conjugacy diameter of $G.$ In this paper, we determine the conjugacy diameters of the semidihedral $2$-groups, the generalized quaternion groups and the modular $p$-groups. This is a natural step after the determination of the conjugacy diameters of dihedral groups, which were recently found by the first author (finite case) and by Kedra, Libman and Martin (infinite case).
Minimal presentation, finite quotients and lower central series of cactus groups
This article deals with the study of cactus groups from a combinatorial point of view. These groups have been gaining prominence lately in various domains of mathematics, amongst which are their relations with well-known groups such as braid groups, diagram groups, to name a few. We compute a minimal presentation for cactus groups in terms of generators and non-redundant relations. We also construct homomorphisms of these groups onto certain finite groups, which leads to results about finite quotients of cactus groups. More precisely, we prove that all (infinite) dihedral groups appear as quotients of cactus groups. We also investigate the lower central series and its consecutive quotients. While there are already known established similarities with braid groups, we deduce a considerable disparity between the two groups.
Further Applications of Schur Rings to Produce GRRs for Dihedral Groups
This note is a continuation of postgraduate thesis research carried out by the first author under the supervision of the second author at the University of Malta. In that research we took a look at several results relating Schur rings to sufficient conditions for GRRs and then applied those results to produce numerical methods for constructing trivalent GRRs for dihedral groups very quickly.
Using Schur Rings to Produce GRRs for Dihedral Groups
In this paper we shall be looking at several results relating Schur rings to sufficient conditions for a graph to be a graphical regular representation (GRR) of a finite group, and then applying these specifically in the case of certain subfamilies of dihedral groups. Numerical methods are given for constructing trivalent GRRs for these dihedral groups very quickly.

In this paper, we investigate the complexity of an infinite family of Cayley graphs $\mathcal{D}_{n}=Cay(\mathbb{D}_{n}, b^{\pmβ_1},b^{\pmβ_2},\ldots,b^{\pmβ_s}, a b^{γ_1}, a b^{γ_2},\ldots, a b^{γ_t} )$ on the dihedral group $\mathbb{D}_{n}=\langle a,b| a^2=1, b^n=1,(a\,b)^2=1\rangle$ of order $2n.$
We obtain a closed formula for the number $τ(n)$ of spanning trees in $\mathcal{D}_{n}$ in terms of Chebyshev polynomials, investigate some arithmetical properties of this function, and find its asymptotics as $n\to\infty.$ Moreover, we show that the generating function $F(x)=\sum\limits_{n=1}^\inftyτ(n)x^n$ is a rational function with integer coefficients.
