Freidel-Maillet type equations on fused K-matrices over the positive part of $U_q(\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}_2)$
The positive part $U_q^+$ of the quantized enveloping algebra $U_q(\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}_2)$ has a reflection equation presentation of Freidel-Maillet type, due to Baseilhac 2021. This presentation involves a K-matrix of dimension $2 \times 2$. Under an embedding of $U_q^+$ into a $q$-shuffle algebra due to Rosso 1995, this K-matrix can be written in closed form using a PBW basis for $U_q^+$ due to Terwilliger 2019. This PBW basis, together with two PBW bases due to Damiani 1993 and Beck 1994, can be obtain from a uniform approach by Ruan 2025. Following a natural fusion technique, we will construct fused K-matrices of arbitary meaningful dimension in closed form using the uniform approach. We will also show that any pair of these fused K-matrices satisfy Freidel-Maillet type equations.

An orthogonal bimodule decomposition of quantized tensor space realizing Jimbo's Schur--Weyl duality
Consider the vector representation $V_q$ of the quantized enveloping algebra $\mathbf{U}_q(\mathfrak{gl}_n)$. For $q$ generic, Jimbo showed that $q$-tensor space $V_q^{\otimes r}$ satisfies Schur--Weyl duality for the commuting actions of $\mathbf{U}_q(\mathfrak{gl}_n)$ and the Iwahori--Hecke algebra $\mathbf{H}_q(\mathfrak{S}_r)$, with the latter action derived from the $R$-matrix. In the limit as $q \to 1$, one recovers classical Schur--Weyl duality. We give a combinatorial realization of the corresponding isotypic semisimple decomposition of $V_q^{\otimes r}$ indexed by paths in the Bratteli diagram. This extends earlier work (\emph{Journal of Algebra} 2024) of the first two authors for the $n=2$ case. Our construction works over any field containing a non-zero element $q$ which is not a root of unity.

Polyhedral realizations for crystal bases of integrable highest weight modules and combinatorial objects of type ${\rm A}^{(1)}_{n-1}$, ${\rm C}^{(1)}_{n-1}$, ${\rm A}^{(2)}_{2n-2}$, ${\rm D}^{(2)}_{n}$
Published • View PublicationBIB
In this paper, we consider polyhedral realizations for crystal bases $B(λ)$ of irreducible integrable highest weight modules of a quantized enveloping algebra $U_q(\mathfrak{g})$, where $\mathfrak{g}$ is a classical affine Lie algebra of type ${\rm A}^{(1)}_{n-1}$, ${\rm C}^{(1)}_{n-1}$, ${\rm A}^{(2)}_{2n-2}$ or ${\rm D}^{(2)}_{n}$. We will give explicit forms of polyhedral realizations in terms of extended Young diagrams or Young walls that appear in the representation theory of quantized enveloping algebras of classical affine type. As an application, a combinatorial description of $\varepsilon_k^*$ functions on $B(\infty)$ will be given.

The Capelli eigenvalue problem for quantum groups
Published • View PublicationBIB
We introduce and study quantum Capelli operators inside newly constructed quantum Weyl algebras associated to three families of symmetric pairs. Both the center of a particular quantized enveloping algebra and the Capelli operators act semisimply on the polynomial part of these quantum Weyl algebras. We show how to transfer well-known properties of the center arising from the theory of quantum symmetric pairs to the Capelli operators. Using this information, we provide a natural realization of Knop-Sahi interpolation polynomials as functions that produce eigenvalues for quantum Capelli operators.

The partial Temperley-Lieb algebra and its representations
Published • View PublicationBIB
We give a combinatorial description of a new diagram algebra, the partial Temperley--Lieb algebra, arising as the generic centralizer algebra $\mathrm{End}_{\mathbf{U}_q(\mathfrak{gl}_2)}(V^{\otimes k})$, where $V = V(0) \oplus V(1)$ is the direct sum of the trivial and natural module for the quantized enveloping algebra $\mathbf{U}_q(\mathfrak{gl}_2)$. It is a proper subalgebra of the Motzkin algebra (the $\mathbf{U}_q(\mathfrak{sl}_2)$-centralizer) of Benkart and Halverson. We prove a version of Schur--Weyl duality for the new algebras, and describe their generic representation theory.

Using a $q$-shuffle algebra to describe the basic module $V(Λ_0)$ for the quantized enveloping algebra $U_q(\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}_2)$
Published • View PublicationBIB
We consider the quantized enveloping algebra $U_q(\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}_2)$ and its basic module $V(Λ_0)$. This module is infinite-dimensional, irreducible, integrable, and highest-weight. We describe $V(Λ_0)$ using a $q$-shuffle algebra in the following way. Start with the free associative algebra $\mathbb V$ on two generators $x,y$. The standard basis for $\mathbb V$ consists of the words in $x,y$. In 1995 M. Rosso introduced an associative algebra structure on $\mathbb V$, called a $q$-shuffle algebra. For $u,v\in \lbrace x,y\rbrace$ their $q$-shuffle product is $u\star v = uv+q^{(u,v)}vu$, where $( u,v) =2$ (resp. $(u,v) =-2$) if $u=v$ (resp. $u\not=v$). Let $\mathbb U$ denote the subalgebra of the $q$-shuffle algebra $\mathbb V$ that is generated by $x, y$. Rosso showed that the algebra $\mathbb U$ is isomorphic to the positive part of $U_q(\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}_2)$. In our first main result, we turn $\mathbb U$ into a $U_q(\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}_2)$-module. Let $\bf U$ denote the $U_q(\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}_2)$-submodule of $\mathbb U$ generated by the empty word. In our second main result, we show that the $U_q(\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}_2)$-modules $\bf U$ and $V(Λ_0)$ are isomorphic. Let $\bf V$ denote the subspace of $\mathbb V$ spanned by the words that do not begin with $y$ or $xx$. In our third main result, we show that $\bf U = \mathbb U \cap {\bf V}$.

Using Catalan words and a $q$-shuffle algebra to describe the Beck PBW basis for the positive part of $U_q(\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}_2)$
Published • View PublicationBIB
We consider the positive part $U^+_q$ of the quantized enveloping algebra $U_q(\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}_2)$. The algebra $U^+_q$ has a presentation involving two generators and two relations, called the $q$-Serre relations. There is a PBW basis for $U^+_q$ due to Damiani, and a PBW basis for $U^+_q$ due to Beck. In 2019 we used Catalan words and a $q$-shuffle algebra to express the Damiani PBW basis in closed form. In this paper we use a similar approach to express the Beck PBW basis in closed form. We also consider how the Damiani PBW basis and the Beck PBW basis are related to the alternating PBW basis for $U^+_q$.

The algebra $U^+_q$ and its alternating central extension $\mathcal U^+_q$
Let $U^+_q$ denote the positive part of the quantized enveloping algebra $U_q(\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}_2)$. The algebra $U^+_q$ has a presentation involving two generators $W_0$, $W_1$ and two relations, called the $q$-Serre relations. In 1993 I. Damiani obtained a PBW basis for $U^+_q$, consisting of some elements $\lbrace E_{n δ+ α_0} \rbrace_{n=0}^\infty$, $\lbrace E_{n δ+ α_1} \rbrace_{n=0}^\infty$, $\lbrace E_{n δ} \rbrace_{n=1}^\infty$. In 2019 we introduced the alternating central extension $\mathcal U^+_q$ of $U^+_q$. We defined $\mathcal U^+_q$ by generators and relations. The generators, said to be alternating, are denoted $\lbrace \mathcal W_{-k}\rbrace_{k=0}^\infty$, $\lbrace \mathcal W_{k+1}\rbrace_{k=0}^\infty$, $ \lbrace \mathcal G_{k+1}\rbrace_{k=0}^\infty$, $\lbrace \mathcal {\tilde G}_{k+1}\rbrace_{k=0}^\infty$. Let $\langle \mathcal W_0, \mathcal W_1 \rangle$ denote the subalgebra of $\mathcal U^+_q$ generated by $\mathcal W_0$, $\mathcal W_1$. It is known that there exists an algebra isomorphism $U^+_q\to \langle \mathcal W_0, \mathcal W_1 \rangle$ that sends $W_0 \mapsto \mathcal W_0$ and $W_1 \mapsto \mathcal W_1$. Via this isomorphism we identify $U^+_q$ with $\langle \mathcal W_0, \mathcal W_1 \rangle$. In our main result, we express the Damiani PBW basis elements in terms of the alternating generators. We give the answer in terms of generating functions.

The alternating central extension of the $q$-Onsager algebra
Published • View PublicationBIB
The $q$-Onsager algebra $O_q$ is presented by two generators $W_0$, $W_1$ and two relations, called the $q$-Dolan/Grady relations. Recently Baseilhac and Koizumi introduced a current algebra $\mathcal A_q$ for $O_q$. Soon afterwards, Baseilhac and Shigechi gave a presentation of $\mathcal A_q$ by generators and relations. We show that these generators give a PBW basis for $\mathcal A_q$. Using this PBW basis, we show that the algebra $\mathcal A_q$ is isomorphic to $O_q \otimes \mathbb F \lbrack z_1, z_2, \ldots \rbrack$, where $\mathbb F$ is the ground field and $\lbrace z_n \rbrace_{n=1}^\infty $ are mutually commuting indeterminates. Recall the positive part $U^+_q$ of the quantized enveloping algebra $U_q(\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}_2)$. Our results show that $O_q$ is related to $\mathcal A_q$ in the same way that $U^+_q$ is related to the alternating central extension of $U^+_q$. For this reason, we propose to call $\mathcal A_q$ the alternating central extension of $O_q$.

Compression of Nakajima monomials in type A and C
Published • View PublicationBIB
We describe an explicit crystal morphism between Nakajima monomials and monomials which give a realization of crystal bases for finite dimensional irreducible modules over the quantized enveloping algebra for Lie algebras of type A and C. This morphism provides a connection between arbitrary Nakajima monomials and Nakashima Kashiwara tableaux. This yields a translation of Nakajima monomials to the Littelmann path model. Furthermore, as an application of our results we describe an insertion scheme for Nakajima monomials compatible to the insertion scheme for tableaux.

Crystal bases of modified quantized enveloping algebras and a double RSK correspondence
Published in J. Combin. Theory Ser. A 118 (2011), no. 7, 2131-2156 • View PublicationBIB
The crystal base of the modified quantized enveloping algebras of type $A_{+\infty}$ or $A_\infty$ is realized as a set of integral bimatrices. It is obtained by describing the decomposition of the tensor product of a highest weight crystal and a lowest weight crystal into extremal weight crystals, and taking its limit using a tableaux model of extremal weight crystals. This realization induces in a purely combinatorial way a bicrystal structure of the crystal base of the modified quantized enveloping algebras and hence its Peter-Weyl type decomposition generalizing the classical RSK correspondence.

Regions of linearity, Lusztig cones and canonical basis elements for the quantized enveloping algebra of type A_4
Published • View PublicationBIB
Let U_q be the quantum group associated to a Lie algebra g of rank n. The negative part U^- of U has a canonical basis B with favourable properties, introduced by Kashiwara and Lusztig. The approaches of Kashiwara and Lusztig lead to a set of alternative parametrizations of the canonical basis, one for each reduced expression for the longest word in the Weyl group of g. We show that if g is of type A_4 there are close relationships between the Lusztig cones, canonical basis elements and the regions of linearity of reparametrization functions arising from the above parametrizations. A graph can be defined on the set of simplicial regions of linearity with respect to adjacency, and we further show that this graph is isomorphic to the graph with vertices given by the reduced expressions of the longest word of the Weyl group modulo commutation and edges given by long braid relations. Rectangle diagrams for the Lusztig cones of quantized enveloping algebras of type A
Published • View PublicationBIB
Let U be the quantum group associated to a Lie algebra of type A_n. The negative part U^- of U has a canonical basis B defined by Lusztig and Kashiwara, with favourable properties. We show how the spanning vectors of the cones defined by Lusztig when regarded as monomials in Kashiwara's root operators, can be described using a remarkable rectangle combinatorics. We use this to calculate the Lusztig parameters of the corresponding canonical basis elements, conjecturing that translates of these vectors span the simplicial regions of linearity of Lusztig's piecewise-linear function. Keywords: quantum group, canonical basis, Lusztig cone, longest word, piecewise-linear combinatorics.
