On a Central Transform of Integer Sequences
We use the concept of the half of a lower-triangular matrix to define a transformation on integer sequences. We explore the properties of this transformation, including in some cases a study of the Hankel transform of the transformed sequences. Starting from simple sequences with elementary rational generating functions, we obtain many sequences of combinatorial significance. We make extensive use of techniques drawn from the theory of Riordan arrays.

Binary sequences with low odd-periodic correlation magnitudes have found important applications in communication systems. It is well known that the nega-cyclic shift and negation preserve the odd-periodic autocorrelation function (OACF) values in general. In this paper, we define a new operation based on Parker's transformation, which also preserves the OACF values of binary sequences. This enables us to classify Parker's 16 cases into 8 ones, and may possibly further allow to classify all constructions based on Parker's transformation.

A partition is called an $(s_1,s_2,\dots,s_p)$-core partition if it is simultaneously an $s_i$-core for all $i=1,2,\dots,p$. Simultaneous core partitions have been actively studied in various directions. In particular, researchers concerned with properties of such partitions when the sequence of $s_i$ is an arithmetic progression.
In this paper, for $p\geq 2$ and relatively prime positive integers $s$ and $d$, we propose the $(s+d,d;a)$-abacus of a self-conjugate partition and establish a bijection between the set of self-conjugate $(s,s+d,\dots,s+pd)$-core partitions and the set of free rational Motzkin paths with appropriate conditions. For $p=2,3$, we give formulae for the number of self-conjugate $(s,s+d,\dots,s+pd)$-core partitions and the number of self-conjugate $(s,s+1,\dots,s+p)$-core partitions with $m$ corners.
A System of Billiard and Its Application to Information-Theoretic Entropy

In this article, we define an information-theoretic entropy based on the Ihara zeta function of a graph which is called the Ihara entropy. A dynamical system consists of a billiard ball and a set of reflectors correspond to a combinatorial graph. The reflectors are represented by the vertices of the graph. Movement of the billiard ball between two reflectors is represented by the edges. The prime cycles of this graph generate the bi-infinite sequences of the corresponding symbolic dynamical system. The number of different prime cycles of a given length can be expressed in terms of the adjacency matrix of the oriented line graph. It also constructs the formal power series expansion of Ihara zeta function. Therefore, the Ihara entropy has a deep connection with the dynamical system of billiards. As an information-theoretic entropy, it fulfils the generalized Shannon-Khinchin axioms. It is a weakly decomposable entropy whose composition law is given by the Lazard formal group law.
Lower bounds for superpatterns and universal sequences

A permutation $σ\in S_n$ is said to be $k$-universal or a $k$-superpattern if for every $π\in S_k$, there is a subsequence of $σ$ that is order-isomorphic to $π$. A simple counting argument shows that $σ$ can be a $k$-superpattern only if $n\ge (1/e^2+o(1))k^2$, and Arratia conjectured that this lower bound is best-possible. Disproving Arratia's conjecture, we improve the trivial bound by a small constant factor. We accomplish this by designing an efficient encoding scheme for the patterns that appear in $σ$. This approach is quite flexible and is applicable to other universality-type problems; for example, we also improve a bound by Engen and Vatter on a problem concerning $(k+1)$-ary sequences which contain all $k$-permutations.
The threshold of symmetry in random graphs with specified degree sequences

We give sufficient conditions under which a random graph with a specified degree sequence is symmetric or asymmetric. In the case of bounded degree sequences, our characterisation captures the phase transition of the symmetry of the random graphs. This phase transition coincides with that of the graph connectivity. However, when the maximum degree is a growing function as the number of vertices tends to infinity, our results suggest that these two thresholds do not coincide any more
Sequences: Polynomial, C-finite, Holonomic, ...
Polynomial, C-finite, Holonomic are the most common ansatz to describe the pattern of the sequences. We propose a new ansatz called X-recursive that generalize those we mentioned. We also discuss its closure properties and compare this ansatz to another new similar ansatz from another paper.
Inventory Loops (i.e. Counting Sequences) have Pre-period $2\max S_1+60$
An Inventory Sequence $(S_0, S_1, S_2, ...)$ is the iteration of the map $f$ defined roughly by taking an integer to its numericized description (e.g. $f(1381)=211318$ since "$1381$" has two $1$'s, one $3$, and one $8$). Our work analyzes the iteration under the infinite base. Any starting value of positive digits is known to be ultimately periodic [1] (e.g. $S_0=1381$ reaches the 1-cycle $f(3122331418)=3122331418$). Parametrizations of all possible cycles are also known [2,3]. We answer Bronstein and Fraenkel's open question of 26 years showing the pre-period of any such starting value is no more than $2M+60$ where $M=\max S_1$. And oddly the period of the cycle can be determined after only $O(\log\log M)$ iterations.
$1$-product problems with congruence conditions in nonabelian groups
Let $G$ be a finite group and $D_{2n}$ be the dihedral group of $2n$ elements. For a positive integer $d$, let $\mathsf{s}_{d\mathbb{N}}(G)$ denote the smallest integer $\ell\in \mathbb{N}_0\cup \{+\infty\}$ such that every sequence $S$ over $G$ of length $|S|\geq \ell$ has a nonempty $1$-product subsequence $T$ with $|T|\equiv 0$ (mod $d$). In this paper, we mainly study the problem for dihedral groups $D_{2n}$ and determine their exact values: $\mathsf{s}_{d\mathbb{N}}(D_{2n})=2d+\lfloor log_2n\rfloor$, if $d$ is odd with $n|d$; $\mathsf{s}_{d\mathbb{N}}(D_{2n})=nd+1$, if $gcd(n,d)=1$. Furthermore, we also analysis the problem for metacyclic groups $C_p\ltimes_s C_q$ and obtain a result: $\mathsf{s}_{kp\mathbb{N}}(C_p\ltimes_s C_q)=lcm(kp,q)+p-2+gcd(kp,q)$, where $p\geq 3$ and $p|q-1$.

We consider the sum of digits functions for both base phi, and for the Zeckendorf expansion of the natural numbers. For both sum of digits functions we present morphisms on infinite alphabets such that these functions viewed as infinite words are letter-to-letter projections of fixed points of these morphisms. We characterize the first differences of both functions a) with generalized Beatty sequences, or unions of generalized Beatty sequences, and b) with morphic sequences.
Long Alternating Paths Exist
Let $P$ be a set of $2n$ points in convex position, such that $n$ points are colored red and $n$ points are colored blue. A non-crossing alternating path on $P$ of length $\ell$ is a sequence $p_1, \dots, p_\ell$ of $\ell$ points from $P$ so that (i) all points are pairwise distinct; (ii) any two consecutive points $p_i$, $p_{i+1}$ have different colors; and (iii) any two segments $p_i p_{i+1}$ and $p_j p_{j+1}$ have disjoint relative interiors, for $i \neq j$.
We show that there is an absolute constant $\varepsilon > 0$, independent of $n$ and of the coloring, such that $P$ always admits a non-crossing alternating path of length at least $(1 + \varepsilon)n$. The result is obtained through a slightly stronger statement: there always exists a non-crossing bichromatic separated matching on at least $(1 + \varepsilon)n$ points of $P$. This is a properly colored matching whose segments are pairwise disjoint and intersected by common line. For both versions, this is the first improvement of the easily obtained lower bound of $n$ by an additive term linear in $n$. The best known published upper bounds are asymptotically of order $4n/3+o(n)$.
Paths and flows for centrality measures in networks

We consider the number of paths that must pass through a subset $X$ of vertices of a network $N$ in a maximum sequence of arc-disjoint paths connecting two vertices $y$ and $z$. We show that when $X$ is a singleton, that number equals the difference between the maximum flow value from $y$ to $z$ in $N$ and the maximum flow value from $y$ to $z$ in the network obtained by $N$ setting to zero the capacities of arcs incident to $X$. That fact theoretically justifies the common identification of those two concepts in network literature. We also show that the same equality does not hold when $|X|\geq 2.$ Consequently, two conceptually different group centrality measures involving paths and flows can naturally be defined, both extending the classic flow betweenness centrality.
Asymptotic bounds on graphical partitions and partition comparability

An integer partition is called graphical if it is the degree sequence of a simple graph. We prove that the probability that a uniformly chosen partition of size $n$ is graphical decreases to zero faster than $n^{-.003}$, answering a question of Pittel. A lower bound of $n^{-1/2}$ was proven by Erdős and Richmond, and so this demonstrates that the probability decreases polynomially. Key to our argument is an asymptotic result of Pittel characterizing the joint distribution of the first rows and columns of a uniformly random partition, combined with a characterization of graphical partitions due to Erdős and Gallai. Our proof also implies a polynomial upper bound for the probability that two randomly chosen partitions are comparable in the dominance order.
A squarefree term not occurring in the Leech sequence
Let \[ \begin{array}{c}\overline{A} = ABCBA\ CBC\ ABCBA,\\ \overline{B} = BCACB\ ACA\ BCACB,\\ \overline{C} = CABAC\ BAB\ CABAC. \end{array} \] The Leech sequence $L$ is the squarefree sequence obtained as the limit of the palindromes \[ A, \overline{A}, \overline{\overline{A}}, \ldots . \] In order to specify a certain class of pseudorecursive varieties of semigroups, it is helpful to have a squarefree term in 3 variables such that no substitution instance occurs as a subterm of $L$. We show that $κ_1 = aba\ cbc\ aba\ c$ is such a term. Except for one situation, the doubly-linked term $κ_2 = aba\ cbc\ aba$ will serve, and we focus on it.
The feasible region for consecutive patterns of permutations is a cycle polytope

We study proportions of consecutive occurrences of permutations of a given size. Specifically, the feasible limits of such proportions on large permutations form a region, called feasible region. We show that this feasible region is a polytope, more precisely the cycle polytope of a specific graph called overlap graph. This allows us to compute the dimension, vertices and faces of the polytope.
Finally, we prove that the limits of classical occurrences and consecutive occurrences are independent, in some sense made precise in the extended abstract. As a consequence, the scaling limit of a sequence of permutations induces no constraints on the local limit and vice versa.
On $\underline{12}0$-avoiding inversion and ascent sequences
Recently, Yan and the first named author investigated systematically the enumeration of inversion or ascent sequences avoiding vincular patterns of length $3$, where two of the three letters are required to be adjacent. They established many connections with familiar combinatorial families and proposed several interesting conjectures. The objective of this paper is to address two of their conjectures concerning the enumeration of $\underline{12}0$-avoiding inversion or ascent sequences.
Wilf equivalences between vincular patterns in inversion sequences

Inversion sequences are finite sequences of non-negative integers, where the value of each entry is bounded from above by its position. Patterns in inversion sequences have been studied by Corteel-Martinez-Savage-Weselcouch and Mansour-Shattuck in the classical case, where patterns can occur in any positions, and by Auli-Elizalde in the consecutive case, where only adjacent entries can form an occurrence of a pattern. These papers classify classical and consecutive patterns of length 3 into Wilf equivalence classes according to the number of inversion sequences avoiding them.
In this paper we consider vincular patterns in inversion sequences, which, in analogy to Babson-Steingrímsson patterns in permutations, require only certain entries of an occurrence to be adjacent, and thus generalize both classical and consecutive patterns. Solving a conjecture of Lin and Yan, we provide a complete classification of vincular patterns of length 3 in inversion sequences into Wilf equivalence classes, and into more restrictive classes that consider the number of occurrences of the pattern and the positions of such occurrences. We find the first known instance of patterns in inversion sequences where these two more restrictive classes do not coincide.

In this article, we have proposed a public key cryptography using Affine-Hill cipher with a generalized Fibonacci matrix(called multinacci matrix). Also proposed a key establishment(exchange of key matrix $K=Q_λ^{k}$ of order $λ\timesλ$ for encryption-decryption) scheme with the help of multinacci sequences under prime modulo. In this scheme, instead of exchanging key matrix, we need to exchange the only pair of numbers $(λ, k)$, which reduces the time complexity as well as space complexity and comes with a large key-space.
Determinant Identities for Toeplitz-Hessenberg Matrices with Tribonacci Number Entries
In this paper, we evaluate determinants of some families of Toeplitz-Hessenberg matrices having tribonacci number entries. These determinant formulas may also be expressed equivalently as identities that involve sums of products of multinomial coefficients and tribonacci numbers. In particular, we establish a connection between the tribonacci and the Fibonacci and Padovan sequences via Toeplitz-Hessenberg determinants. We then obtain, by combinatorial arguments, extensions of our determinant formulas in terms of generalized tribonacci sequences satisfying an r-th order recurrence of a more general form with the appropriate initial conditions, where r>2 is arbitrary.
Implementing Suffix Array Algorithm Using Apache Big Table Data Implementation
In this paper we will describe a new approach on the well-known suffix-array algorithm using Big Table Data Technology. We will demonstrate how it is possible to refactor a well-known algorithm coupled by taking advantage of an high-performance distributed datastore, to illustrate the advantages of using datastore cloud related technology for storing large text sequences and retrieving them. A case study using DNA strings, considered one of the most difficult pattern matching problem, will be described and evaluated to demonstrate the potentiality of this implementation. Further discussion on performances and other big data related issues will be described as well as new possible lines of research in big data technology for precise medical applications.
