Asynchronous Majority Dynamics on Binomial Random Graphs

We study information aggregation in networks when agents interact to learn a binary state of the world. Initially each agent privately observes an independent signal which is "correct" with probability $\frac{1}{2}+δ$ for some $δ> 0$. At each round, a node is selected uniformly at random to update their public opinion to match the majority of their neighbours (breaking ties in favour of their initial private signal). Our main result shows that for sparse and connected binomial random graphs $\mathcal G(n,p)$ the process stabilizes in a "correct" consensus in $\mathcal O(n\log^2 n/\log\log n)$ steps with high probability. In fact, when $\log n/n \ll p = o(1)$ the process terminates at time $\hat T = (1+o(1))n\log n$, where $\hat T$ is the first time when all nodes have been selected at least once. However, in dense binomial random graphs with $p=Ω(1)$, there is an information cascade where the process terminates in the "incorrect" consensus with probability bounded away from zero.
Eigenvalues of some classes of signed complete graphs
In this work, we discuss some properties of the eigenvalues of some classes of signed complete graphs. We also obtain the form of characteristic polynomial for these graphs.

We present some results about the irreducible representations appearing in the exterior algebra $Λ\mathfrak{g}$, where $ \mathfrak{g}$ is a simple Lie algebra over $\mathbb{C}$. For Lie algebras of type $B$, $C$ or $D$ we prove that certain irreducible representations, associated to weights characterized in a combinatorial way, appear as irreducible components of $Λ\mathfrak{g}$. Moreover, we propose an analogue of a conjecture of Kostant, about irreducibles appearing in the exterior algebra of the little adjoint representation. Finally, we give some closed expressions, in type $B$, $C$ and $D$, for generalized exponents of small representations that are fundamental representations and we propose a generalization of some results of De Concini, Möseneder Frajria, Procesi and Papi about the module of special covariants of adjoint and little adjoint type.
A Sharp Ramsey Theorem for Ordered Hypergraph Matchings

We prove essentially sharp bounds for Ramsey numbers of ordered hypergraph matchings, inroduced recently by Dudek, Grytczuk, and Ruciński. Namely, for any $r \ge 2$ and $n \ge 2$, we show that any collection $\mathcal H$ of $n$ pairwise disjoint subsets in $\mathbb Z$ of size $r$ contains a subcollection of size $\lfloor n^{1/(2^r-1)}/2\rfloor$ in which every pair of sets are in the same relative position with respect to the linear ordering on $\mathbb Z$. This improves previous bounds of Dudek-Grytczuk-Ruciński and of Anastos-Jin-Kwan-Sudakov and is sharp up to a factor of $2$. For large $r$, we even obtain such a subcollection of size $\lfloor (1-o(1))\cdot n^{1/(2^r-1)}\rfloor$, which is asymptotically tight (here, the $o(1)$-term tends to zero as $r \to \infty$, regardless of the value of $n$). Furthermore, we prove a multiparameter extension of this result where one wants to find a clique of prescribed size $m_P$ for each relative position pattern $P$. Our bound is sharp for all choices of parameters $m_P$, up to a constant factor depending on $r$ only. This answers questions of Anastos-Jin-Kwan-Sudakov and of Dudek-Grytczuk-Ruciński.

Let $G$ be a graph on $n$ vertices with adjacency matrix $A$, and let $\mathbf{1}$ be the all-ones vector. We call $G$ controllable if the set of vectors $\mathbf{1}, A\mathbf{1}, \dots, A^{n-1}\mathbf{1}$ spans the whole space $\mathbb{R}^n$. We characterize the isomorphism problem of controllable graphs in terms of other combinatorial, geometric and logical problems. We also describe a polynomial time algorithm for graph isomorphism that works for almost all graphs.
Discretized Radial Projections in $\mathbb{R}^d$
We generalize a Furstenberg-type result of Orponen-Shmerkin to higher dimensions, leading to an $ε$-improvement in Kaufman's projection theorem for hyperplanes and an unconditional discretized radial projection theorem in the spirit of Orponen-Shmerkin-Wang. Our proof relies on a new incidence estimate for $δ$-tubes and a quasi-product set of $δ$-balls in $\mathbb{R}^d$.
The largest eigenvalue of $\mathcal{C}_4^{-}$-free signed graphs
Let $\mathcal{C}_{k}^{-}$ be the set of all negative $C_k$. For odd cycle, Wang, Hou and Li [29] gave a spectral condition for the existence of negative $C_3$ in unbalanced signed graphs. For even cycle, we determine the maximum index among all $\mathcal{C}_4^{-}$-free unbalanced signed graphs and completely characterize the extremal signed graph in this paper. This could be regarded as a signed graph version of the results by Nikiforov [23] and Zhai and Wang [37].
New improvement to Falconer distance set problem in higher dimensions
We show that if a compact set $E\subset \mathbb{R}^d$ has Hausdorff dimension larger than $\frac{d}{2}+\frac{1}{4}-\frac{1}{8d+4}$, where $d\geq 3$, then there is a point $x\in E$ such that the pinned distance set $Δ_x(E)$ has positive Lebesgue measure. This improves upon bounds of Du-Zhang and Du-Iosevich-Ou-Wang-Zhang in all dimensions $d \ge 3$. We also prove lower bounds for Hausdorff dimension of pinned distance sets when $\dim_H (E) \in (\frac{d}{2} - \frac{1}{4} - \frac{3}{8d+4}, \frac{d}{2}+\frac{1}{4}-\frac{1}{8d+4})$, which improves upon bounds of Harris and Wang-Zheng in dimensions $d \ge 3$.
Weighted refined decoupling estimates and application to Falconer distance set problem
We prove some weighted refined decoupling estimates. As an application, we give an alternative proof of the following result on Falconer's distance set problem by the authors in a companion work: if a compact set $E\subset \mathbb{R}^d$ has Hausdorff dimension larger than $\frac{d}{2}+\frac{1}{4}-\frac{1}{8d+4}$, where $d\geq 4$, then there is a point $x\in E$ such that the pinned distance set $Δ_x(E)$ has positive Lebesgue measure. Aside from this application, the weighted refined decoupling estimates may be of independent interest.
Branching points in the planar Gilbert--Steiner problem have degree 3
Gilbert--Steiner problem is a generalization of the Steiner tree problem on a specific optimal mass transportation.
We show that every branching point in a solution of the planar Gilbert--Steiner problem has degree 3.

A $k$-uniform tight cycle is a $k$-graph with a cyclic order of its vertices such that every $k$ consecutive vertices from an edge. We show that for $k\geq 3$, every red-blue edge-coloured complete $k$-graph on $n$ vertices contains $k$ vertex-disjoint monochromatic tight cycles that together cover $n - o(n)$ vertices.

We establish a link between the new theory of $q$-deformed rational numbers and the classical Burau representation of the braid group $\mathrm{B}_3$. We apply this link to the open problem of classification of faithful complex specializations of this representation. As a result we provide an answer to this problem in terms of the singular set of the $q$-rationals and prove the faithfulness of the Burau representation specialized at complex $t\in \mathbb{C}^*$ outside the annulus $3-2\sqrt2 \leq |t| \leq 3+2\sqrt2.$
Equivariant theory for codes and lattices I
In this paper, we present a generalization of Hayden's theorem [7, Theorem 4.2] for $G$-codes over finite Frobenius rings. A lattice theoretical form of this generalization is also given. Moreover, Astumi's MacWilliams identity [1, Theorem 1] is generalized in several ways for different weight enumerators of $G$-codes over finite Frobenius rings. Furthermore, we provide the Jacobi analogue of Astumi's MacWilliams identity for $G$-codes over finite Frobenius rings. Finally, we study the relation between $G$-codes and its corresponding $G$-lattices.

A $k$-star colouring of a graph $G$ is a function $f:V(G)\to\{0,1,\dots,k-1\}$ such that $f(u)\neq f(v)$ for every edge $uv$ of $G$, and every bicoloured connected subgraph of $G$ is a star. The star chromatic number of $G$, $χ_s(G)$, is the least integer $k$ such that $G$ is $k$-star colourable. We prove that $χ_s(G)\geq \lceil (d+4)/2\rceil$ for every $d$-regular graph $G$ with $d\geq 3$. We reveal the structure and properties of even-degree regular graphs $G$ that attain this lower bound. The structure of such graphs $G$ is linked with a certain type of Eulerian orientations of $G$. Moreover, this structure can be expressed in the LC-VSP framework of Telle and Proskurowski (SIDMA, 1997), and hence can be tested by an FPT algorithm with the parameter either treewidth, cliquewidth, or rankwidth. We prove that for $p\geq 2$, a $2p$-regular graph $G$ is $(p+2)$-star colourable only if $n:=|V(G)|$ is divisible by $(p+1)(p+2)$. For each $p\geq 2$ and $n$ divisible by $(p+1)(p+2)$, we construct a $2p$-regular Hamiltonian graph on $n$ vertices which is $(p+2)$-star colourable.
The problem $k$-STAR COLOURABILITY takes a graph $G$ as input and asks whether $G$ is $k$-star colourable. We prove that 3-STAR COLOURABILITY is NP-complete for planar bipartite graphs of maximum degree three and arbitrarily large girth. Besides, it is coNP-hard to test whether a bipartite graph of maximum degree eight has a unique 3-star colouring up to colour swaps. For $k\geq 3$, $k$-STAR COLOURABILITY of bipartite graphs of maximum degree $k$ is NP-complete, and does not even admit a $2^{o(n)}$-time algorithm unless ETH fails.
A Construction of Asymptotically Optimal Cascaded CDC Schemes via Combinatorial Designs
A coded distributed computing (CDC) system aims to reduce the communication load in the MapReduce framework. Such a system has $K$ nodes, $N$ input files, and $Q$ Reduce functions. Each input file is mapped by $r$ nodes and each Reduce function is computed by $s$ nodes. The objective is to achieve the maximum multicast gain. There are known CDC schemes that achieve optimal communication load. In some prominent known schemes, however, $N$ and $Q$ grow too fast in terms of $K$, greatly reducing their gains in practical scenarios. To mitigate the situation, some asymptotically optimal cascaded CDC schemes with $r=s$ have been proposed by using symmetric designs. In this paper, we put forward new asymptotically optimal cascaded CDC schemes with $r=s$ by using $1$-designs. Compared with earlier schemes from symmetric designs, ours have much smaller computation loads while keeping the other relevant parameters the same. We also obtain new asymptotically optimal cascaded CDC schemes with more flexible parameters compared with previously best-performing schemes.

The boundary rigidity problem is a classical question from Riemannian geometry: if $(M, g)$ is a Riemannian manifold with smooth boundary, is the geometry of $M$ determined up to isometry by the metric $d_g$ induced on the boundary $\partial M$? In this paper, we consider a discrete version of this problem: can we determine the combinatorial type of a finite cube complex from its boundary distances? As in the continuous case, reconstruction is not possible in general, but one expects a positive answer under suitable contractibility and non-positive curvature conditions. Indeed, in two dimensions Haslegrave gave a positive answer to this question when the complex is a finite quadrangulation of the disc with no internal vertices of degree less than $4$. We prove a $3$-dimensional generalisation of this result: the combinatorial type of a finite CAT(0) cube complex with an embedding in $\mathbb{R}^3$ can be reconstructed from its boundary distances. Additionally, we prove a direct strengthening of Haslegrave's result: the combinatorial type of any finite 2-dimensional CAT(0) cube complex can be reconstructed from its boundary distances.
Induced subgraphs and tree decompositions XI. Local structure in even-hole-free graphs of large treewidth
We prove a conjecture of Sintiari and Trotignon that every even-hole-free graph of sufficiently large treewidth contains a four-vertex induced subgraph with at least five edges (that is, either the four-vertex complete graph or the unique four-vertex graph with five edges, also known as the diamond).
In fact, we prove two stronger results: (a) For every $K_4$-free chordal graph $H$, every even-hole-free graph of sufficiently large treewidth contains either a four-vertex complete subgraph or an induced subgraph isomorphic to $H$ (when $H$ is the diamond, this yields their conjecture); and (b) For every $K_3$-free chordal graph $H$ (equivalently, for every forest $H$) and every $t \in \mathbb{N}$, every even-hole-free graph of sufficiently large treewidth contains either a $t$-vertex complete subgraph or an induced subgraph obtained from $H$ by adding a universal vertex (when $t=4$ and $H$ is the three-vertex path, this yields their conjecture).
The choice of $H$ in both result is best possible: (a) fails for every graph $H$ that is not $K_4$-free and chordal, and (b) fails for every graph $H$ that is not a forest.
Infinite dimensional sequential compactness: Sequential compactness based on barriers

We introduce a generalization of sequential compactness using barriers on $ω$ extending naturally the notion introduced in [W. Kubiś and P. Szeptycki, On a topological Ramsey theorem, \emph{Canad. Math. Bull.}, 66 (2023), {156}--{165}]. We improve results from [C. Corral and O. Guzm{á}n and C. L{ó}pez-Callejas, High dimensional sequential compactness, \emph{Fund. Math.}] by building spaces that are $\mathcal{B}$-sequentially compact but no $\mathcal{C}$-sequentially compact when the barriers $\mathcal{B}$ and $\mathcal{C}$ satisfy certain rank assumption which turns out to be equivalent to a Katětov-order assumption. Such examples are constructed under the assumption $\mathfrak{b} =\mathfrak{c}$. We also exhibit some classes of spaces that are $\mathcal{B}$-sequentially compact for every barrier $\mathcal{B}$, including some classical classes of compact spaces from functional analysis, and as a byproduct we obtain some results on angelic spaces. Finally we introduce and compute some cardinal invariants naturally associated to barriers.
Corrigendum on Wiener index, Zagreb Indices and Harary index of Eulerian graphs

In the original article ``Wiener index of Eulerian graphs'' [Discrete Applied Mathematics Volume 162, 10 January 2014, Pages 247-250], the authors state that the Wiener index (total distance) of an Eulerian graph is maximized by the cycle. We explain that the initial proof contains a flaw and note that it is a corollary of a result by Plesník, since an Eulerian graph is $2$-edge-connected. The same incorrect proof is used in two referencing papers, ``Zagreb Indices and Multiplicative Zagreb Indices of Eulerian Graphs'' [Bull. Malays. Math. Sci. Soc. (2019) 42:67-78] and ``Harary index of Eulerian graphs'' [J. Math. Chem., 59(5):1378-1394, 2021]. We give proofs of the main results of those papers and the $2$-edge-connected analogues.
Density of $3$-critical signed graphs

We say that a signed graph is $k$-critical if it is not $k$-colorable but every one of its proper subgraphs is $k$-colorable. Using the definition of colorability due to Naserasr, Wang, and Zhu that extends the notion of circular colorability, we prove that every $3$-critical signed graph on $n$ vertices has at least $\frac{3n-1}{2}$ edges, and that this bound is asymptotically tight. It follows that every signed planar or projective-planar graph of girth at least $6$ is (circular) $3$-colorable, and for the projective-planar case, this girth condition is best possible. To prove our main result, we reformulate it in terms of the existence of a homomorphism to the signed graph $C_{3}^*$, which is the positive triangle augmented with a negative loop on each vertex.
