An $s$-extremal optimal unimodular lattice in dimension $52$ is constructed for the first time. This lattice is constructed from a certain self-dual $\mathbb{F}_5$-code by Construction A. In addition, as neighbors of the lattice, two more $s$-extremal optimal unimodular lattices are constructed.

Given an infinite family ${\mathcal G}$ of graphs and a monotone property ${\mathcal P}$, an (upper) threshold for ${\mathcal G}$ and ${\mathcal P}$ is a "fastest growing" function $p: \mathbb{N} \to [0,1]$ such that $\lim_{n \to \infty} \Pr(G_n(p(n)) \in {\mathcal P})= 1$ for any sequence $(G_n)_{n \in \mathbb{N}}$ over ${\mathcal G}$ with $\lim_{n \to \infty}\lvert V(G_n) \rvert = \infty$, where $G_n(p(n))$ is the random subgraph of $G_n$ such that each edge remains independently with probability $p(n)$.
In this paper we study the upper threshold for the family of $H$-minor free graphs and for the graph property of being $(r-1)$-degenerate, which is one fundamental graph property with many applications. Even a constant factor approximation for the upper threshold for all pairs $(r,H)$ is expected to be very difficult by its close connection to a major open question in extremal graph theory. We determine asymptotically the thresholds (up to a constant factor) for being $(r-1)$-degenerate for a large class of pairs $(r,H)$, including all graphs $H$ of minimum degree at least $r$ and all graphs $H$ with no vertex-cover of size at most $r$, and provide lower bounds for the rest of the pairs of $(r,H)$. The results generalize to arbitrary proper minor-closed families and the properties of being $r$-colorable, being $r$-choosable, or containing an $r$-regular subgraph, respectively.
Signless Laplacian spectral characterization of some graphs
In this paper, we investigate (signless) Laplacian spectral characterization of graphs with star components. Also, we prove that the join graph ${\small K_{n-α}-e\vee αK_{1}}$ is $DQS$ for $n-α>3$ and $α\neq3$, and for $α=3$, we show that its only $Q$-cospectral mate is $\bar{K_{1,3}\cup K_{2}\cup (n-6)K_{1}}$.
A combinatorial construction for two formulas in Slater's List
We set up a combinatorial framework for inclusion-exclusion on the partitions into distinct parts to obtain an alternative generating function of partitions into distinct and non-consecutive parts. In connection with Rogers-Ramanujan identities, the generating function yields two formulas in Slater's list. The same formulas were constructed by Hirschhorn. Similar formulas were obtained by Bringmann, Mahlburg and Nataraj. We also use staircases to give alternative triple series for partitions into $d-$distinct parts for any $d \geq 2$.

A class of counting problems ask for the number of regions of a central hyperplane arrangement. By duality, this is the same as counting the vertices of a zonotope. We give several efficient algorithms, based on a linear optimization oracle, that solve this and related enumeration problems. More precisely, our algorithms compute the vertices of a zonotope from the set of its generators and inversely, recover the generators of a zonotope from its vertices. A variation of the latter algorithm also allows to decide whether a polytope, given as its vertex set, is a zonotope and when it is not, to compute its greatest zonotopal summand.
Uniform bases for ideal arrangements
In this paper we introduce and study uniform bases for the ideal arrangements in all Lie types. Explicit uniform bases are given by Abe-Horiguchi-Masuda-Murai-Sato for types $A,B,C,G$ and we provide them for other types. Combining the explicit uniform bases with the work of Abe-Horiguchi-Masuda-Murai-Sato, we also obtain explicit presentations of the cohomology rings of regular nilpotent Hessenberg varieties in all Lie types.
On star edge colorings of bipartite and subcubic graphs

A star edge coloring of a graph is a proper edge coloring with no $2$-colored path or cycle of length four. The star chromatic index $χ'_{st}(G)$ of $G$ is the minimum number $t$ for which $G$ has a star edge coloring with $t$ colors. We prove upper bounds for the star chromatic index of complete bipartite graphs; in particular we obtain tight upper bounds for the case when one part has size at most $3$. We also consider bipartite graphs $G$ where all vertices in one part have maximum degree $2$ and all vertices in the other part has maximum degree $b$. Let $k$ be an integer ($k\geq 1$), we prove that if $b=2k+1$ then $χ'_{st}(G) \leq 3k+2$; and if $b=2k$, then $χ'_{st}(G) \leq 3k$; both upper bounds are sharp.
Finally, we consider the well-known conjecture that subcubic graphs have star chromatic index at most $6$; in particular we settle this conjecture for cubic Halin graphs.
The Rado Simplicial Complex

A Rado simplicial complex X is a generalisation of the well-known Rado graph. X is a countable simplicial complex which contains any countable simplicial complex as its induced subcomplex. The Rado simplicial complex is highly symmetric, it is homogeneous: any isomorphism between finite induced subcomplexes can be extended to an isomorphism of the whole complex. We show that the Rado complex X is unique up to isomorphism and suggest several explicit constructions. We also show that a random simplicial complex on countably many vertices is a Rado complex with probability 1. The geometric realisation |X| of a Rado complex is contractible and is homeomorphic to an infinite dimensional simplex. We also prove several other interesting properties of the Rado complex X, for example we show that removing any finite set of simplexes of X gives a complex isomorphic to X.
On asymmetric colourings of graphs with bounded degrees and infinite motion

A vertex colouring of a graph is called asymmetric if the only automorphism which preserves it is the identity. Tucker conjectured that if every automorphism of a connected, locally finite graph moves infinitely many vertices, then there is an asymmetric colouring with $2$ colours. We make progress on this conjecture in the special case of graphs with bounded maximal degree. More precisely, we prove that if every automorphism of a connected graph with maximal degree $Δ$ moves infinitely many vertices, then there is an asymmetric colouring using $\mathcal O(\sqrt Δ\log Δ)$ colours. This is the first improvement over the trivial bound of $\mathcal O(Δ)$.
Tilings from Graph Directed Iterated Function Systems

A new method for constructing self-referential tilings of Euclidean space from a graph directed iterated function system, based on a combinatorial structure we call a pre-tree, is introduced. In the special case that we refer to as balanced, the resulting tilings have a finite set of prototiles, are quasiperiodic but not periodic, and are self-similar. A necessary and sufficient condition for two balanced tilings to be congruent is provided.
Almost-monochromatic sets and the chromatic number of the plane

In a colouring of $\mathbb{R}^d$ a pair $(S,s_0)$ with $S\subseteq \mathbb{R}^d$ and with $s_0\in S$ is \emph{almost monochromatic} if $S\setminus \{s_0\}$ is monochromatic but $S$ is not. We consider questions about finding almost monochromatic similar copies of pairs $(S,s_0)$ in colourings of $\mathbb{R}^d$, $\mathbb{Z}^d$, and in $\mathbb{Q}$ under some restrictions on the colouring.
Among other results, we characterise those $(S,s_0)$ with $S\subseteq \mathbb{Z}$ for which every finite colouring of $\mathbb{R}$ without an infinite monochromatic arithmetic progression contains an almost monochromatic similar copy of $(S,s_0)$. We also show that if $S\subseteq \mathbb{Z}^d$ and $s_0$ is outside of the convex hull of $S\setminus \{s_0\}$, then every finite colouring of $\mathbb{R}^d$ without a similar monochromatic copy of $\mathbb{Z}^d$ contains an almost monochromatic similar copy of $(S,s_0)$.
Further, we propose an approach of finding almost-monochromatic sets that might lead to a non-computer assisted proof of $χ(\R^2)\geq 5$.
Cryptographically Strong Permutations from the Butterfly Structure

In this paper, we present infinite families of permutations of $\mathbb{F}_{2^{2n}}$ with high nonlinearity and boomerang uniformity $4$ from generalized butterfly structures.
Both open and closed butterfly structures are considered. It appears, according to experiment results, that open butterflies do not produce permutation with boomerang uniformity $4$.
For the closed butterflies, we propose the condition on coefficients $α, β\in \mathbb{F}_{2^n}$ such that the functions
$$V_i := (R_i(x,y), R_i(y,x))$$ with $R_i(x,y)=(x+αy)^{2^i+1}+βy^{2^i+1}$ are permutations of $\mathbb{F}_{2^n}^2$ with boomerang uniformity $4$, where $n\geq 1$ is an odd integer and $\gcd(i, n)=1$.
The main result in this paper consists of two major parts: the permutation property of $V_i$ is investigated in terms of the univariate form, and the boomerang uniformity is examined in terms of the original bivariate form. In addition, experiment results for $n=3, 5$ indicates that the proposed condition seems to cover all coefficients $α, β\in \mathbb{F}_{2^n}$ that produce permutations $V_i$ with boomerang uniformity $4$.
However, the experiment result shows that the quadratic permutation $V_i$ seems to be affine equivalent to the Gold function. Therefore, unluckily, we may not to obtain new permutations with boomerang uniformity $4$ from the butterfly structure.
Asymptotic dimension of multi-ended quasi-transitive graphs
We prove the existence of an upper bound on the asymptotic dimension of tree amalgamations of locally finite quasi-transitive connected graphs. This generalises a result of Dranishnikov for free products with amalgamation and a result of Tselekidis for HNN-extensions of groups to tree amalgamations of graphs. As a corollary, we obtain an upper bound on the asymptotic dimension of a multi-ended quasi-transitive locally finite graph based on any of their factorisations.

Infinite analogues of the Paley graphs are constructed, based on uncountably many infinite but locally finite fields. Weil's estimate for character sums shows that they are all isomorphic to the random or universal graph of Erd\H os, Rényi and Rado. Automorphism groups and connections with model theory are considered.
The Turán number of the square of a path

The Turán number of a graph H, ex(n,H), is the maximum number of edges in a graph on n vertices which does not have H as a subgraph. Let P_k be the path with k vertices, the square P^2_k of P_k is obtained by joining the pairs of vertices with distance one or two in P_k. The powerful theorem of Erdős, Stone and Simonovits determines the asymptotic behavior of ex(n,P^2_k). In the present paper, we determine the exact value of ex(n,P^2_5) and ex(n,P^2_6) and pose a conjecture for the exact value of ex(n,P^2_k).

This paper presents a geometric model of the Auslander-Reiten quiver of a type A quiver together with a stability function for which all indecomposable modules are stable. We also introduce a new Catalan object which we call a maximal almost rigid representation. We show that its endomorphism algebra is a tilted algebra of type A. We define a partial order on the set of maximal almost rigid representations and use our new geometric model to show that this partial order is a Cambrian lattice.
Graph edge contraction and subdivisions for adjacency polytopes
Adjacency polytopes, a.k.a. symmetric edge polytopes, associated with undirected graphs have been defined and studied in several seemingly independent areas including number theory, discrete geometry, and dynamical systems. In particular, the authors are motivated by the tropical intersections problem derived from the Kuramoto equations. Regular subdivisions of adjacency polytopes are instrumental in solving these problems. This paper explores connections between the regular subdivisions of an adjacency polytope and the contraction of the underlying graph along an edge. We construct a special regular subdivision whose cells are in one-to-one correspondence with facets of an adjacency polytope associated with an edge-contraction of the original graph. Moreover, this subdivision induces a decomposition of the original graph into ``cell subgraphs''. We explore the combinatorial, graph-theoretic, and matroidal aspects of this connection.
The Maximum Wiener Index of Maximal Planar Graphs

The Wiener index of a connected graph is the sum of the distances between all pairs of vertices in the graph. It was conjectured that the Wiener index of an $n$-vertex maximal planar graph is at most $\lfloor\frac{1}{18}(n^3+3n^2)\rfloor$. We prove this conjecture and for every $n$, $n \geq 10$, determine the unique $n$-vertex maximal planar graph for which this maximum is attained.

We use Young tableaux to compute the dimension of $V^r$, the Prym-Brill-Noether locus of a folded chain of loops of any gonality. This tropical result yields a new upper bound on the dimensions of algebraic Prym-Brill-Noether loci. Moreover, we prove that $V^r$ is pure-dimensional and connected in codimension $1$ when $\dim V^r \geq 1$. We then compute the first Betti number of this locus for even gonality when the dimension is exactly $1$, and compute the cardinality when the locus is finite and the edge lengths are generic.
Connectivity for Kite-Linked Graphs

For a given graph $H$, a graph $G$ is $H$-linked if, for every injection $\varphi: V(H) \to V(G)$, the graph $G$ contains a subdivision of $H$ with $\varphi(v)$ corresponding to $v$, for each $v\in V(H)$. Let $f(H)$ be the minimum integer $k$ such that every $k$-connected graph is $H$-linked. Among graphs $H$ with at least four vertices, the exact value $f(H)$ is only know when $H$ is a path with four vertices or a cycle with four vertices. A kite is graph obtained from $K_4$ by deleting two adjacent edges, i.e., a triangle together with a pendant edge. Recently, Liu, Rolek and Yu proved that every $8$-connected graph is kite-linked. The exact value of $f(H)$ when $H$ is the kite remains open. In this paper, we settle this problem by showing that every 7-connected graph is kite-linked.
