Framing Triangulations for Arbitrary Integer Flow Polytopes
Framing triangulations of unit flow polytopes have received a great deal of recent study with rich connections to various generalizations of Catalan and Cambrian combinatorics as well as volume and h*-polynomial formulas. This story has largely been restricted to unit flow polytopes, with only two recent works giving descriptions of framing triangulations on classes of non-unit flow polytopes. In this article we introduce the first theory of (unimodular) framing triangulations for arbitrary integer flow polytopes. We will observe some pathologies in general examples which are impossible in the unit case, and propose in response a class of "well-ordered" framing triangulations which we expect to inherit key properties from the unit case while still containing all settings of framing triangulations existing in the literature.
Flip of lattices
In this paper, we introduce a new combinatorial operation, called a flip, on arbitrary partially ordered sets. We define a mutation to be a flip that maps a lattice to a lattice. We study properties of flips, and give a necessary and sufficient condition for a flip to be a mutation. We introduce locally mutable lattices and mutable lattices in terms of flips, and prove that mutable lattices are semidistributive. We show that type-A and type-B Cambrian lattices are locally mutable, and those associated with the finite-type Coxeter quivers with different orientations are related also by the sequence of mutations. Finally we introduce a new class of lattices, called Ordovician lattices, as the lattices obtained from Cambrian lattices by iterated mutations. We provide conjectures on the structure of Ordovician lattices and on the compatibility between our mutation and the mutation in the theory of cluster algebras.
Framing Lattices and Flow Polytopes
Flow polytopes of acyclic oriented graphs arise naturally in combinatorial optimization, and the study of their volumes and triangulations has revealed intriguing connections across combinatorics, geometry, algebra, and representation theory. In this work, we introduce the framing lattice associated with a framed graph, whose Hasse diagram is dual to a framed triangulation of the corresponding flow polytope. Framing lattices are remarkable in that they provide a unifying framework encompassing many classical and well-studied lattice structures, including the Boolean lattice, the Tamari lattice, and the weak order on permutations. They further subsume a broad array of examples such as all type-A Cambrian lattices, the Grassmann and grid-Tamari lattices, the alt-$ν$-Tamari and cross-Tamari lattices, the permutree lattices, and the $τ$-tilting posets of certain gentle algebras. We show, among several foundational structural properties, that the framing lattice is a semidistributive, congruence uniform, and polygonal lattice, with its polygons consisting of squares, pentagons, and hexagons. We study its connections to noncrossing partitions via Reading's core label orders, simple representations of its join and meet irreducible elements, and several of its lattice congruences and quotients induced by a graph operation called an M-move.
Dominance regions for affine cluster algebras
We determine dominance regions associated to cluster algebras of affine type. In the most interesting cases, the dominance region is a line segment, which we describe explicitly. Motivations for this work include a project to determine all pointed bases for cluster algebras of affine type and a separate project to determine all theta functions in the affine case. The proofs draw on known results from the doubled Cambrian fan and almost-positive roots models, as well as a new tool that we develop: a detailed description of neighboring seeds of affine type (seeds that are, in some sense, as close as possible to the boundary of the g-vector fan).
Permutahedron Triangulations via Total Linear Stability and the Dual Braid Group
For each finite Coxeter group $W$ and each standard Coxeter element of $W$, we construct a triangulation of the $W$-permutahedron. For particular realizations of the $W$-permutahedron, we show that this is a regular triangulation induced by a height function coming from the theory of total linear stability for Dynkin quivers. We also explore several notable combinatorial properties of these triangulations that relate the Bruhat order, the noncrossing partition lattice, and Cambrian congruences. Each triangulation gives an explicit mechanism for relating two different presentations of the corresponding braid group (the standard Artin presentation and Bessis's dual presentation). This is a step toward uniformly proving conjectural simple, explicit, and type-uniform presentations for the corresponding pure braid group.
Preorders on maximal chains: hyperplane arrangements, Cambrian lattices, and maximal green sequences
We study preorders on (equivalence classes of) maximal chains in the general context of polygonal lattices endowed with suitably nice edge labellings. We show that, given a quotient of polygonal lattices, such edge labellings descend to the quotient, and that there is an induced order-preserving surjective map on the preordered sets of equivalence classes of maximal chains. Under a natural condition ensuring that the domain is a poset, the map is a contraction of preordered sets. We apply this to lattices of regions of simplicial hyperplane arrangements, where the preorders are partial orders, in particular to finite Coxeter arrangements. For the latter, each choice of Coxeter element gives us a different partial order on the set of equivalence classes of maximal chains; these generalise certain reoriented higher Bruhat orders in dimension two. The maps of posets of maximal chains induced by Cambrian congruences generalise the map of Kapranov and Voevodsky from the higher Bruhat orders to the higher Stasheff--Tamari orders in dimension two. While the fibres of this map are known not always to be intervals, our results show that they are always connected. We show that, in the case of Cambrian lattices, the induced maps on maximal chains have nice descriptions in terms of orientations of rank-two root subsystems, in a way which resembles taking the stable objects of a Rudakov stability condition. We finally consider the algebraic realisation of the weak order and Cambrian lattices via torsion-free classes of preprojective and path algebras, relating the posets of maximal chains to our earlier work on maximal green sequences.
A new definition for m-Cambrian lattices

The Cambrian lattices, introduced in (Reading, 2006), generalize the Tamari lattice to any choice of Coxeter element in any finite Coxeter group. They are further generalized to the m-Cambrian lattices (Stump, Thomas, Williams, 2015). However, their definitions do not provide a practical setup to work with combinatorially. In this paper, we provide a new equivalent definition of the m-Cambrian lattices on simple objects called m-noncrossing partitions, using a simple and effective comparison criterion. It is obtained by showing that each interval has a unique maximal chain that is c-increasing, which is computed by a greedy algorithm. Our proof is uniform, involving all Coxeter groups and all choices of Coxeter element at the same time. This work has been accepted as an extended abstract for the FPSAC 2025 conference. A long version of this work will be available later.
$c$-Birkhoff polytopes
In a 2018 paper, Davis and Sagan studied several pattern-avoiding polytopes. They found that a particular pattern-avoiding Birkhoff polytope had the same normalized volume as the order polytope of a certain poset, leading them to ask if the two polytopes were unimodularly equivalent. Motivated by Davis and Sagan's question, in this paper we define a pattern-avoiding Birkhoff polytope called a $c$-Birkhoff polytope for each Coxeter element $c$ of the symmetric group. We then show that the $c$-Birkhoff polytope is unimodularly equivalent to the order polytope of the heap poset of the $c$-sorting word of the longest permutation. When $c=s_1s_2\dots s_{n}$, this result recovers an affirmative answer to Davis and Sagan's question. Another consequence of this result is that the normalized volume of the $c$-Birkhoff polytope is the number of the longest chains in the (type A) $c$-Cambrian lattice.

Motivated by categorical representation theory, we define the wiggly complex, whose vertices are arcs wiggling around $n+2$ points on a line, and whose faces are sets of wiggly arcs which are pairwise pointed and non-crossing. The wiggly complex is a $(2n-1)$-dimensional pseudomanifold, whose facets are wiggly pseudotriangulations. We show that wiggly pseudotriangulations are in bijection with wiggly permutations, which are permutations of $[2n]$ avoiding the patterns $(2j-1) \cdots i \cdots (2j)$ for $i < 2j-1$ and $(2j) \cdots k \cdots (2j-1)$ for $k > 2j$. These permutations define the wiggly lattice, an induced sublattice of the weak order. We then prove that the wiggly complex is isomorphic to the boundary complex of the polar of the wigglyhedron, for which we give explicit and simple vertex and facet descriptions. Interestingly, we observe that any Cambrian associahedron is normally equivalent to a well-chosen face of the wigglyhedron. Finally, we recall the correspondence of wiggly arcs with objects in a category, and we develop categorical criteria for a subset of wiggly arcs to form a face of the wiggly complex.
Pop-Stack Operators for Torsion Classes and Cambrian Lattices
The pop-stack operator of a finite lattice $L$ is the map $\mathrm{pop}^{\downarrow}_L\colon L\to L$ that sends each element $x\in L$ to the meet of $\{x\}\cup\text{cov}_L(x)$, where $\text{cov}_L(x)$ is the set of elements covered by $x$ in $L$. We study several properties of the pop-stack operator of $\mathrm{tors}Λ$, the lattice of torsion classes of a $τ$-tilting finite algebra $Λ$ over a field $K$. We describe the pop-stack operator in terms of certain mutations of 2-term simple-minded collections. This allows us to describe preimages of a given torsion class under the pop-stack operator.
We then specialize our attention to Cambrian lattices of a finite irreducible Coxeter group $W$. Using tools from representation theory, we provide simple Coxeter-theoretic and lattice-theoretic descriptions of the image of the pop-stack operator of a Cambrian lattice (which can be stated without representation theory). When specialized to a bipartite Cambrian lattice of type A, this result settles a conjecture of Choi and Sun. We also settle a related enumerative conjecture of Defant and Williams. When $L$ is an arbitrary lattice quotient of the weak order on $W$, we prove that the maximum size of a forward orbit under the pop-stack operator of $L$ is at most the Coxeter number of $W$; when $L$ is a Cambrian lattice, we provide an explicit construction to show that this maximum forward orbit size is actually equal to the Coxeter number.
Ungarian Markov Chains

We introduce the Ungarian Markov chain ${\bf U}_L$ associated to a finite lattice $L$. The states of this Markov chain are the elements of $L$. When the chain is in a state $x\in L$, it transitions to the meet of $\{x\}\cup T$, where $T$ is a random subset of the set of elements covered by $x$. We focus on estimating $\mathcal E(L)$, the expected number of steps of ${\bf U}_L$ needed to get from the top element of $L$ to the bottom element of $L$. Using direct combinatorial arguments, we provide asymptotic estimates when $L$ is the weak order on the symmetric group $S_n$ and when $L$ is the $n$-th Tamari lattice. When $L$ is distributive, the Markov chain ${\bf U}_L$ is equivalent to an instance of the well-studied random process known as last-passage percolation with geometric weights. One of our main results states that if $L$ is a trim lattice, then $\mathcal E(L)\leq\mathcal E(\text{spine}(L))$, where $\text{spine}(L)$ is a specific distributive sublattice of $L$ called the spine of $L$. Combining this lattice-theoretic theorem with known results about last-passage percolation yields a powerful method for proving upper bounds for $\mathcal E(L)$ when $L$ is trim. We apply this method to obtain uniform asymptotic upper bounds for the expected number of steps in the Ungarian Markov chains of Cambrian lattices of classical types and the Ungarian Markov chains of $ν$-Tamari lattices.
Lattice structure in cluster algebra of finite type and non-simply-laced Ingalls-Thomas bijection
In this paper, we demonstrate that the lattice structure of a set of clusters in a cluster algebra of finite type is anti-isomorphic to the torsion lattice of a certain Geiss-Leclerc-Schröer (GLS) path algebra and to the $c$-Cambrian lattice. We prove this by explicitly describing the exchange quivers of cluster algebras of finite type. Specifically, we prove that these quivers are anti-isomorphic to those formed by support $τ$-tilting modules in GLS path algebras and to those formed by $c$-clusters consisting of almost positive roots.

This paper presents a geometric model of the Auslander-Reiten quiver of a type A quiver together with a stability function for which all indecomposable modules are stable. We also introduce a new Catalan object which we call a maximal almost rigid representation. We show that its endomorphism algebra is a tilted algebra of type A. We define a partial order on the set of maximal almost rigid representations and use our new geometric model to show that this partial order is a Cambrian lattice.

V.F. Molchanov considered the Hilbert series for the space of invariant skew-symmetric tensors and dual tensors with polynomial coefficients under the action of a real reflection group, and speculated that it had a certain product formula involving the exponents of the group. We show that Molchanov's speculation is false in general but holds for all coincidental complex reflection groups when appropriately modified using exponents and co-exponents. These are the irreducible well-generated (i.e., duality) reflection groups with exponents forming an arithmetic progression and include many real reflection groups and all non-real Shephard groups, e.g., the Shephard-Todd infinite family $G(d,1,n)$. We highlight consequences for the $q$-Narayana and $q$-Kirkman polynomials, giving simple product formulas for both, and give a $q$-analogue of the identity transforming the $h$-vector to the $f$-vector for the coincidental finite type cluster/Cambrian complexes of Fomin--Zelevinsky and Reading.

For a fixed integer $k$, we consider the set of noncrossing partitions, where both the block sizes and the difference between adjacent elements in a block is $1\bmod k$. We show that these $k$-indivisible noncrossing partitions can be recovered in the setting of subgroups of the symmetric group generated by $(k+1)$-cycles, and that the poset of $k$-indivisible noncrossing partitions under refinement order has many beautiful enumerative and structural properties. We encounter $k$-parking functions and some special Cambrian lattices on the way, and show that a special class of lattice paths constitutes a nonnesting analogue.

This paper develops a Cambrian extension of the work of C. Ceballos, A. Padrol and C. Sarmiento on $ν$-Tamari lattices and their tropical realizations. For any signature $\varepsilon \in \{\pm\}^n$, we consider a family of $\varepsilon$-trees in bijection with the triangulations of the $\varepsilon$-polygon. These $\varepsilon$-trees define a flag regular triangulation $\mathcal{T}^\varepsilon$ of the subpolytope $\operatorname{conv} \{(\mathbf{e}_{i_\bullet}, \mathbf{e}_{j_\circ}) \, | \, 0 \le i_\bullet < j_\circ \le n+1 \}$ of the product of simplices $\triangle_{\{0_\bullet, \dots, n_\bullet\}} \times \triangle_{\{1_\circ, \dots, (n+1)_\circ\}}$. The oriented dual graph of the triangulation $\mathcal{T}^\varepsilon$ is the Hasse diagram of the (type $A$) $\varepsilon$-Cambrian lattice of N. Reading. For any $I_\bullet \subseteq \{0_\bullet, \dots, n_\bullet\}$ and $J_\circ \subseteq \{1_\circ, \dots, (n+1)_\circ\}$, we consider the restriction $\mathcal{T}^\varepsilon_{I_\bullet, J_\circ}$ of the triangulation $\mathcal{T}^\varepsilon$ to the face $\triangle_{I_\bullet} \times \triangle_{J_\circ}$. Its dual graph is naturally interpreted as the increasing flip graph on certain $(\varepsilon, I_\bullet, J_\circ)$-trees, which is shown to be a lattice generalizing in particular the $ν$-Tamari lattices in the Cambrian setting. Finally, we present an alternative geometric realization of $\mathcal{T}^\varepsilon_{I_\bullet, J_\circ}$ as a polyhedral complex induced by a tropical hyperplane arrangement.
A combinatorial approach to scattering diagrams

Scattering diagrams arose in the context of mirror symmetry, but a special class of scattering diagrams (the cluster scattering diagrams) were recently developed to prove key structural results on cluster algebras. We use the connection to cluster algebras to calculate the function attached to the limiting wall of a rank-2 cluster scattering diagram of affine type. In the skew-symmetric rank-2 affine case, this recovers a formula due to Reineke. In the same case, we show that the generating function for signed Narayana numbers appears in a role analogous to a cluster variable. In acyclic finite type, we construct cluster scattering diagrams of acyclic finite type from Cambrian fans and sortable elements, with a simple direct proof.
Cambrian acyclic domains: counting $c$-singletons
We study the size of certain acyclic domains that arise from geometric and combinatorial constructions. These acyclic domains consist of all permutations visited by commuting equivalence classes of maximal reduced decompositions if we consider the symmetric group and, more generally, of all c-singletons of a Cambrian lattice associated to the weak order of a finite Coxeter group. For this reason, we call these sets Cambrian acyclic domains. Extending a closed formula of Galambos--Reiner for a particular acyclic domain called Fishburn's alternating scheme, we provide explicit formulae for the size of any Cambrian acyclic domain and characterize the Cambrian acyclic domains of minimum or maximum size.

Given any polytope $P$ and any generic linear functional ${\bf c} $, one obtains a directed graph $G(P,{\bf c})$ from the 1-skeleton of $P$ by orienting each edge $e(u,v)$ from $u$ to $v$ for ${\bf c} (u) < {\bf c} ( v)$. For $P$ a simple polytope and $G(P,{\bf c})$ the Hasse diagram of a lattice $L$, the join of any collection $S$ of elements which all cover a common element $u$ in $L$ is proven to equal the sink of the smallest face of $P$ containing $u$ and all of the elements of $S$. The author conjectures for such $G(P,{\bf c})$ that no directed path in $G(P,{\bf c})$ ever revisits any facet of $P$. This would imply for such $P$ and ${\bf c}$ that the simplex method for linear programming is efficient under all possible pivot rules. This conjecture is proven for 3-polytopes and for spindles.
For simple polytopes in which $G(P,{\bf c})$ is the Hasse diagram of a lattice $L$, the order complex of each open interval in $L$ is proven homotopy equivalent to a ball or a sphere. Applications are given to the weak Bruhat order, the Tamari lattice, and the Cambrian lattices.
This paper concludes with an appendix by Dominik Preußproving the monotone Hirsch conjecture for $P$ a simple polytope and $G(P,{\bf c})$ the Hasse diagram of a lattice. This confirms one of the main consequences that the author's conjecture would have.
Lattice homomorphisms between weak orders

We classify surjective lattice homomorphisms $W\to W'$ between the weak orders on finite Coxeter groups. Equivalently, we classify lattice congruences $Θ$ on $W$ such that the quotient $W/Θ$ is isomorphic to $W'$. Surprisingly, surjective homomorphisms exist quite generally: They exist if and only if the diagram of $W'$ is obtained from the diagram of $W$ by deleting vertices, deleting edges, and/or decreasing edge labels. A surjective homomorphism $W\to W'$ is determined by its restrictions to rank-two standard parabolic subgroups of $W$. Despite seeming natural in the setting of Coxeter groups, this determination in rank two is nontrivial. Indeed, from the combinatorial lattice theory point of view, all of these classification results should appear unlikely a priori. As an application of the classification of surjective homomorphisms between weak orders, we also obtain a classification of surjective homomorphisms between Cambrian lattices and a general construction of refinement relations between Cambrian fans.
