An equidistribution conjecture for quotient-closed and submodule-closed subcategories
We study subcategories of the module category of a finite-dimensional algebra that are closed under quotients or submodules. We propose the quotient--submodule equidistribution conjecture: over a representation-finite algebra, the number of quotient-closed subcategories of size $i$ is equal to that of submodule-closed subcategories of size $i$ for every $i$, where size is the number of indecomposable modules in the subcategory. We prove the following cases of the conjecture: (1) the five smallest and five largest values of $i$, hence all algebras with at most nine indecomposable modules; (2) Nakayama algebras; (3) algebras with radical square zero; and (4) representation-directed algebras. In the last case, we classify quotient-closed subcategories by a lower Bruhat interval in a Coxeter group constructed from the Auslander--Reiten quiver, extending the classification of Oppermann--Reiten--Thomas for Dynkin quivers. We also prove that quotient closure defines a finitary convex geometry and classify the functorially finite quotient-closed subcategories by Gen-minimal modules.
Kostant's problem for permutations of shape $(n-2,1,1)$ and $(n-3,2,1)$
For a permutation $z$ in the symmetric group $\mathrm{S}_{n}$, denote by $L_{z}$ the corresponding simple highest weight module in the principal block of the BGG category $\mathcal{O}$ for the Lie algebra $\mathfrak{sl}_{n}(\mathbb{C})$. In this paper, we provide a combinatorial answer to Kostant's problem for the modules $L_{z}$ when $z$ has shape (associated Young diagram/integer partition via Robinson-Schensted correspondence) equal to $(n-2,1,1)$ or $(n-3,2,1)$. Moreover, we verify that certain closely related conjectures hold for such permutations, including the Indecomposability Conjecture, which states that applying any indecomposable projective functor to the corresponding simple highest weight module outputs either an indecomposable module or zero.
Skew-symmetrizable cluster algebras from surfaces and symmetric quivers
We study skew-symmetrizable cluster algebras $\mathcal{A}$ associated with unpunctured surfaces $\tilde{\mathbf{S}}$ endowed with an orientation-preserving involution $σ$. We give a geometric realization of such cluster algebras by showing that cluster variables of $\mathcal{A}$ correspond to $σ$-orbits of arcs of $\tilde{\mathbf{S}}$, while clusters are given by admissible $σ$-invariant triangulations. We establish a ring homomorphism from $\mathcal{A}$ to a skew-symmetric cluster algebra of the same rank, which is combinatorially derived from $\mathcal{A}$. We use this result to provide a cluster expansion formula for any $σ$-orbit $[γ]$ in terms of perfect matchings of some labeled modified snake graphs constructed from the arcs of $[γ]$. Then, we associate a symmetric finite-dimensional algebra $A$ to any seed of $\mathcal{A}$, such that non-initial cluster variables bijectively correspond to orthogonal indecomposable $A$-modules. Finally, we exhibit a purely representation-theoretic map from the category of orthogonal $A$-modules to $\mathcal{A}$, providing a Caldero-Chapoton map in this setting.
A decomposition theorem for Lefschetz modules
A Lefschetz module is a module over a graded algebra $A$ that satisfies analogues of Poincaré duality, the Hard Lefschetz property, and the Hodge--Riemann relations with respect to an open convex cone $\mathscr{K}$ in the degree one part of $A$. We analyze its decomposition into indecomposable modules over subrings of $A$ that are generated by elements in the closure of $\mathscr{K}$, establishing structural results that parallel the decomposition theorem for morphisms of complex projective varieties. We use our theorems to recover key statements in combinatorial Hodge theory and illuminate the Hodge-theoretic aspects of the decomposition theorem in algebraic geometry.
Representation Theory of $0$-Schur Algebras and Related Categories
Jensen, Su, and Yang described the projective indecomposable modules of the $0$-Schur algebra $\mathbf{S}_0(n,r)$ using its geometric realization. In this paper, the simple modules of $\mathbf{S}_0(n,r)$ are identified by computing the tops of the projective indecomposable modules. Furthermore, functorial relations among the module categories $\mathbf{H}_r(0)$\textsf{-mod}, $\mathbf{S}_0(n,r)$\textsf{-mod}, and $U_0(\mathfrak{gl}_n)$\textsf{-mod} are examined, where $\mathbf{H}_r(0)$ denotes the $0$-Hecke algebra and $U_0(\mathfrak{gl}_n)$ denotes the degenerate quantum group.
Resolving subcategories for gentle algebras II: Resolving subcategories for gentle trees
This paper is the second part of a series that intends to study the resolving subcategories for gentle algebras over an algebraically closed field $\mathbb{K}$.
As in the first part, we continue to focus on gentle quivers $(Q,R)$, where $Q$ is a directed tree, known as gentle trees. In our previous work, via a modified surface model for gentle algebras with finite global dimension, we studied the join-irreducible elements of the lattice of resolving subcategories of $\mathbb{K}Q/\langle R \rangle - \text{mod}$, which happen to be those generated by a non-projective indecomposable object.
In this paper, we notice that this lattice is not semidistributive in general and, accordingly, introduce a so-called upper join-decomposition, replacing the canonical one. Together with the techniques we develop in our geometric model, it allows us to describe the resolving subcategories of any gentle tree. These same techniques let us explicitly construct the resolving subcategory generated by any collection of indecomposable $\mathbb{K}Q/\langle R\rangle$-modules.
Dimensions of compositions modulo a prime
The (ordinary) representation theory of the symmetric group is fascinating and has rich connections to combinatorics, including the Frobenius correspondence to the self-dual graded Hopf algebra of symmetric functions. The $0$-Hecke algebra (of type $A$) is a deformation of the group algebra of the symmetric group, and its representation theory has an analogous correspondence to the dual graded Hopf algebras of quasisymmetric functions and noncommutative symmetric functions. Macdonald used the hook length formula for the number of standard Young tableaux of a fixed shape to determine how many irreducible representations of the symmetric group have dimensions indivisible by a prime $p$. In this paper, we study the dimensions of the projective indecomposable modules of the $0$-Hecke algebra modulo $p$; such a module is indexed by a composition and its dimension is given by a ribbon number, i.e., the cardinality of a descent class. Applying a result of Dickson on the congruence of multinomial coefficients, we count how many ribbon numbers belong to each congruence class modulo $p$. We also extend the result to other finite Coxeter groups.
Resolving subcategories for gentle algebras I: Monogeneous resolving subcategories for gentle trees
This paper is the first part of a series that intends to study the resolving subcategories for gentle algebras over an algebraically closed field $\mathbb{K}$.
In a general setting, we improve the precision of an algorithm from Takahashi for resolving closure calculations in well-behaved abelian categories. Then, we modify the geometric model of Baur--Coelho-Simões and Opper--Plamondon--Schroll to compute such subcategories for gentle quivers that have a finite global dimension.
Finally, we focus on gentle quivers $(Q,R)$ such that $Q$ is a directed tree, and we study the monogeneous resolving subcategories, which are the ones generated by a single non-projective indecomposable $\mathbb{K}Q/\langle R \rangle$-module. By the way, we prove that these subcategories are the join-irreducible elements of the poset of all the resolving subcategories ordered by inclusion.
Folded Gentle Algebras
We use folding techniques to define a new class of gentle-like algebras that generalise the iterated tilted algebras of type $C$ and $\widetilde{C}$, which we call folded gentle algebras. We then show that folded gentle algebras satisfy many of the same remarkable properties of gentle algebras, and that the proof of these properties follows directly from folding arguments. In particular, we classify the indecomposable modules of folded gentle algebras in terms symmetric and asymmetric string and band modules. We classify the Auslander-Reiten sequences over these algebras, showing that irreducible morphisms between string modules are given by adding/deleting hooks and cohooks to/from strings. Finally, we show that the class of folded gentle algebras are closed under derived equivalence.
Super Caldero--Chapoton map for type $A$
One can explicitly compute the generators of a surface cluster algebra either combinatorially, through dimer covers of snake graphs, or homologically, through the CC-map applied to indecomposable modules over the appropriate algebra. Recent work by Musiker, Ovenhouse and Zhang used Penner and Zeitlin's decorated super Teichm{ü}ller theory to define a super version of the cluster algebra of type $A$ and gave a combinatorial formula to compute the even generators. We extend this theory by giving a homological way of explicitly computing these generators by defining a super CC-map for type $A$.

Generalized cluster algebras from orbifolds were defined by Chekhov and Shapiro to give a combinatorial description of their Teichmüller spaces. One can also assign a gentle algebra to a triangulated orbifold, as in the work of Labardini-Fragoso and Mou. In this work, we show that the Caldero-Chapoton map and the snake graph expansion map agree for arcs in triangulated orbifolds and arc modules, and similarly for closed curves and certain band modules. As a consequence, we have a bijection between some indecomposable modules over a gentle algebra and cluster variables in a generalized cluster algebra where both algebras arise from the same triangulated orbifold.
Wall And Chamber Structure For A Special Biserial Algebra Coming From Perverse Sheaves on $\mathbb{P}^n$
We describe the wall and chamber structure of a special biserial algebra whose module category is equivalent to the category of (middle) perverse sheaves on the complex projective space $\mathbb{P}^n$. In particular, by the well known classification of indecomposable modules for special biserial algebras, we deduce that the algebra of interest is of finite representation type and we provide an explicit description of the walls of the structure. By a result of Bridgeland this wall and chamber structure coincides with the chamber structure in an open subset of the space of stability conditions on the bounded derived category of constructible sheaves on $\mathbb{P}^n$.

In a categorification of skew-symmetric cluster algebras, each cluster variable corresponds with an indecomposable module over the associated Jacobian algebra. Buan, Marsh and Reiten studied when the denominator vector of each cluster variable in an acyclic cluster algebra coincides with the dimension vector of the corresponding module. In this paper, we give analogues of their results for cluster algebras from triangulated surfaces by comparing two kinds of intersection numbers of tagged arcs.

Let $p$ be an odd prime and let $k$ be a field of characteristic $p$. We provide a practical algebraic description of the representation ring of $k\mathrm{SL}_2(\mathbb{F}_p)$ modulo projectives. We then investigate a family of modular plethysms of the natural $k\mathrm{SL}_2(\mathbb{F}_p)$-module $E$ of the form $\nabla^ν\mathrm{Sym}^l E$ for a partition $ν$ of size less than $p$ and $0\leq l\leq p-2$. Within this family we classify both the modular plethysms of $E$ which are projective and the modular plethysms of $E$ which have only one non-projective indecomposable summand which is moreover irreducible. We generalise these results to similar classifications where modular plethysms of $E$ are replaced by $k\mathrm{SL}_2(\mathbb{F}_p)$-modules of the form $\nabla^ν V$, where $V$ is a non-projective indecomposable $k\mathrm{SL}_2(\mathbb{F}_p)$-module and $|ν|<p$.

Let $n$ be a nonnegative integer. For each composition $α$ of $n$, Berg $\textit{et al.}$ introduced a cyclic indecomposable $H_n(0)$-module $\mathcal{V}_α$ with a dual immaculate quasisymmetric function as the image of the quasisymmetric characteristic. In this paper, we study $\mathcal{V}_α$'s from the homological viewpoint. To be precise, we construct a minimal projective presentation of $\mathcal{V}_α$ and a minimal injective presentation of $\mathcal{V}_α$ as well. Using them, we compute ${\rm Ext}^1_{H_n(0)}(\mathcal{V}_α, {\bf F}_β)$ and ${\rm Ext}^1_{H_n(0)}( {\bf F}_β, \mathcal{V}_α)$, where ${\bf F}_β$ is the simple $H_n(0)$-module attached to a composition $β$ of $n$. We also compute ${\rm Ext}_{H_n(0)}^i(\mathcal{V}_α,\mathcal{V}_β)$ when $i=0,1$ and $β\le_l α$, where $\le_l$ represents the lexicographic order on compositions.

We establish a connection between knot theory and cluster algebras via representation theory. To every knot diagram (or link diagram), we associate a cluster algebra by constructing a quiver with potential. The rank of the cluster algebra is $2n$, where $n$ is the number of crossing points in the knot diagram. We then construct $2n$ indecomposable modules $T(i)$ over the Jacobian algebra of the quiver with potential. For each $T(i)$, we show that the submodule lattice is isomorphic to the corresponding lattice of Kauffman states. We then give a realization of the Alexander polynomial of the knot as a specialization of the $F$-polynomial of $T(i)$, for every $i$. Furthermore, we conjecture that the collection of the $T(i)$ forms a cluster in the cluster algebra whose quiver is isomorphic to the opposite of the initial quiver, and that the resulting cluster automorphism is of order two.

Let $α$ be a composition of $n$ and $σ$ a permutation in $\mathfrak{S}_{\ell(α)}$. This paper concerns the projective covers of $H_n(0)$-modules $\mathcal{V}_α$, $X_α$ and $\mathbf{S}^σ_α$, which categorify the dual immaculate quasisymmetric function, the extended Schur function, and the quasisymmetric Schur function when $σ$ is the identity, respectively. First, we show that the projective cover of $\mathcal{V}_α$ is the projective indecomposable module $\mathbf{P}_α$ due to Norton, and $X_α$ and the $φ$-twist of the canonical submodule $\mathbf{S}^σ_{β,C}$ of $\mathbf{S}^σ_β$ for $(β,σ)$'s satisfying suitable conditions appear as $H_n(0)$-homomorphic images of $\mathcal{V}_α$. Second, we introduce a combinatorial model for the $φ$-twist of $\mathbf{S}^σ_α$ and derive a series of surjections starting from $\mathbf{P}_α$ to the $φ$-twist of $\mathbf{S}^{\mathrm{id}}_{α,C}$. Finally, we construct the projective cover of every indecomposable direct summand $\mathbf{S}^σ_{α, E}$ of $\mathbf{S}^σ_α$. As a byproduct, we give a characterization of triples $(σ, α, E)$ such that the projective cover of $\mathbf{S}^σ_{α, E}$ is indecomposable.

We study the $H_n(0)$-module $\mathbf{S}^σ_α$ due to Tewari and van Willigenburg, which was constructed using new combinatorial objects called standard permuted composition tableaux and decomposed into cyclic submodules. First, we show that every direct summand appearing in their decomposition is indecomposable and characterize when $\mathbf{S}^σ_α$ is indecomposable. Second, we find characteristic relations among $\mathbf{S}^σ_α$'s and expand the image of $\mathbf{S}^σ_α$ under the quasi characteristic in terms of quasisymmetric Schur functions. Finally, we show that the canonical submodule of $\mathbf{S}^σ_α$ appears as a homomorphic image of a projective indecomposable module.

We construct tilting modules over Jacobian algebras arising from knots. To a two-bridge knot $L[a_1,\ldots,a_n]$, we associate a quiver $Q$ with potential and its Jacobian algebra $A$. We construct a family of canonical indecomposable $A$-modules $M(i)$, each supported on a different specific subquiver $Q(i)$ of $Q$. Each of the $M(i)$ is expected to parametrize the Jones polynomial of the knot. We study the direct sum $M=\oplus_iM(i)$ of these indecomposables inside the module category of $A$ as well as in the cluster category.
In this paper we consider the special case where the two-bridge knot is given by two parameters $a_1,a_2$. We show that the module $M$ is rigid and $τ$-rigid, and we construct a completion of $M$ to a tilting (and $τ$-tilting) $A$-module $T$. We show that the endomorphism algebra $\operatorname{End}_AT$ of $T$ is isomorphic to $A$, and that the mapping $T\mapsto A[1]$ induces a cluster automorphism of the cluster algebra $\mathcal{A}(Q)$. This automorphism is of order two. Moreover, we give a mutation sequence that realizes the cluster automorphism. In particular, we show that the quiver $Q$ is mutation equivalent to an acyclic quiver of type $T_{p,q,r}$ (a tree with three branches). This quiver is of finite type if $(a_1,a_2)=(a_1,2), (1,a_2),$ or $(2,3)$, it is tame for $(a_1,a_2)=(2,4)$ or $(3,3)$, and wild otherwise.

This paper presents a geometric model of the Auslander-Reiten quiver of a type A quiver together with a stability function for which all indecomposable modules are stable. We also introduce a new Catalan object which we call a maximal almost rigid representation. We show that its endomorphism algebra is a tilted algebra of type A. We define a partial order on the set of maximal almost rigid representations and use our new geometric model to show that this partial order is a Cambrian lattice.
