Maximal green sequences for quantum and Poisson CGL extensions
We prove that the quantum and classical cluster algebras for all members of the axiomatically defined classes of symmetric quantum and Poisson Cauchon-Goodearl-Letzter extensions possess maximal green sequences in the sense of Keller. Previously, maximal green sequences were constructed for explicit families of cluster algebras; many of those can be recovered from the general result for CGL extensions.
Maximal Green Sequences for Cluster Algebras Associated to Closed Orbifolds
It is known that the existence of a maximal green sequence for a quiver associated to surfaces is equivalent to the equality of the cluster algebra and upper cluster algebra generated by the quiver. This paper makes the first steps in investigating this behavior in the generalised case of cluster algebras from orbifolds; determining when such surfaces admit a diagram with a maximal green sequence. Specifically, we will provide a triangulation for the orientable surfaces of genus $n$ with an arbitrary number of orbifold points and arbitrary number of punctures, determine when it has a maximal green sequence, and construct one if it exists.
Oriented matroids and type $\mathbb{A}$ cluster categories
For any cluster-tilting object $\mathsf{T}$ in the cluster category $\mathscr{C}_{n}$ of type $\mathbb{A}_{n}$, we construct a rank-four oriented matroid $\mathcal{M}_{\mathsf{T}}$ such that stackable triangulations of $\mathcal{M}_{\mathsf{T}}$ are in bijection with equivalence classes of maximal green sequences with initial cluster $\mathsf{T}$. This generalises the result that equivalence classes of maximal green sequences of linearly oriented $\mathbb{A}_{n}$ are in bijection with triangulations of a three-dimensional cyclic polytope. The definition of the oriented matroid $\mathcal{M}_{\mathsf{T}}$ arises from the extriangulated structure on $\mathscr{C}_{n}$ which makes $\mathsf{T}$ projective.
Preorders on maximal chains: hyperplane arrangements, Cambrian lattices, and maximal green sequences
We study preorders on (equivalence classes of) maximal chains in the general context of polygonal lattices endowed with suitably nice edge labellings. We show that, given a quotient of polygonal lattices, such edge labellings descend to the quotient, and that there is an induced order-preserving surjective map on the preordered sets of equivalence classes of maximal chains. Under a natural condition ensuring that the domain is a poset, the map is a contraction of preordered sets. We apply this to lattices of regions of simplicial hyperplane arrangements, where the preorders are partial orders, in particular to finite Coxeter arrangements. For the latter, each choice of Coxeter element gives us a different partial order on the set of equivalence classes of maximal chains; these generalise certain reoriented higher Bruhat orders in dimension two. The maps of posets of maximal chains induced by Cambrian congruences generalise the map of Kapranov and Voevodsky from the higher Bruhat orders to the higher Stasheff--Tamari orders in dimension two. While the fibres of this map are known not always to be intervals, our results show that they are always connected. We show that, in the case of Cambrian lattices, the induced maps on maximal chains have nice descriptions in terms of orientations of rank-two root subsystems, in a way which resembles taking the stable objects of a Rudakov stability condition. We finally consider the algebraic realisation of the weak order and Cambrian lattices via torsion-free classes of preprojective and path algebras, relating the posets of maximal chains to our earlier work on maximal green sequences.
The Affine Tamari Lattice
Given a fixed integer $n\geq 2$, we construct two new finite lattices that we call the cyclic Tamari lattice and the affine Tamari lattice. The cyclic Tamari lattice is a sublattice and a quotient lattice of the cyclic Dyer lattice, which is the infinite lattice of translation-invariant total orders under containment of inversion sets. The affine Tamari lattice is a quotient of the Dyer lattice, which in turn is a quotient of the cyclic Dyer lattice and is isomorphic to the collection of biclosed sets of the root system of type $\widetilde{A}_{n-1}$ under inclusion. We provide numerous combinatorial and algebraic descriptions of these lattices using translation-invariant total orders, translation-invariant binary in-ordered trees, noncrossing arc diagrams, torsion classes, triangulations, and translation-invariant noncrossing partitions. The cardinalities of the cyclic and affine Tamari lattices are the Catalan numbers of types $B_n$ and $D_n$, respectively. We show that these lattices are self-dual and semidistributive, and we describe their decompositions coming from the Fundamental Theorem of Finite Semidistributive Lattices. We also show that the rowmotion operators on these lattices have well-behaved orbit structures, which we describe via the cyclic sieving phenomenon. Our new combinatorial framework allows us to prove that the lengths of maximal green sequences for the completed path algebra of the oriented $n$-cycle are precisely the integers in the interval $[2n-1,\binom{n+1}{2}]$.

We describe the conjugation of the reddening sequence according to the formula of $c$-vectors with respect to changing the initial seed. As applications, we extend the Rotation Lemma, the Target before Source Theorem, and the mutation invariant property of the existence of reddening sequences to totally sign-skew-symmetric cluster algebras. Furthermore, this also leads to the construction of conjugation difference which characterizes the number of red mutations a maximal green sequence should admit in any matrix pattern with the initial seed changed via mutations.

We show that the relationship discovered by Oppermann and Thomas between triangulations of cyclic polytopes and the higher Auslander algebras of type $A$, denoted $A_{n}^{d}$, is an incredibly rich one. The \emph{higher Stasheff--Tamari orders} are two orders on triangulations of cyclic polytopes, conjectured to be equivalent, defined in the 1990s by Kapranov and Voevodsky, and Edelman and Reiner. We first show that these orders correspond in even dimensions to natural orders on tilting modules defined by Riedtmann and Schofield and studied by Happel and Unger. This result allows us to show that triangulations of odd-dimensional cyclic polytopes are in bijection with equivalence classes of $d$-maximal green sequences of $A_{n}^{d}$, which we introduce as a higher-dimensional generalisation of the original maximal green sequences of Keller. We further interpret the higher Stasheff--Tamari orders in odd dimensions, where they correspond to natural orders on equivalences classes of $d$-maximal green sequences. The conjecture that these two partial orders on equivalence classes of $d$-maximal green sequences are equal amounts to an oriented version of the ``no-gap'' conjecture of Brüstle, Dupont, and Perotin. A corollary of our results is that this conjecture holds for $A_{n}$, and that here the set of equivalence classes of (1-)maximal green sequences is a lattice.

In this article, we will expand on the notions of maximal green and reddening sequences for quivers associated to cluster algebras. The existence of these sequences has been studied for a variety of applications related to Fomin and Zelevinsky's cluster algebras. Ahmad and Li considered a numerical measure of how close a quiver is to admitting a maximal green sequence called a red number. In this paper we generalized this notion to what we call unrestricted red numbers which are related to reddening sequences. In addition to establishing this more general framework we completely determine the red numbers and unrestricted red numbers for all finite mutation type quivers. Furthermore, we give conjectures on the possible values of red numbers and unrestricted red numbers in general.

We investigate the existence and non-existence of maximal green sequences for quivers arising from weighted projective lines. Let $Q$ be the Gabreil quiver of the endomorphism algebra of a basic cluster-tilting object in the cluster category $\mathcal{C}_\mathbb{X}$ of a weighted projective line $\mathbb{X}$. It is proved that there exists a quiver $Q'$ in the mutation equivalence class $\operatorname{Mut}(Q)$ such that $Q'$ admits a maximal green sequence. On the other hand, there is a quiver in $\operatorname{Mut}(Q)$ which does not admit a maximal green sequence if and only if $\mathbb{X}$ is of wild type.

Maximal green sequences are important objects in representation theory, cluster algebras, and string theory. The two fundamental questions about maximal green sequences are whether a given algebra admits such sequences and, if so, does it admit only finitely many. We study maximal green sequences in the case of string algebras and give sufficient conditions on the algebra that ensure an affirmative answer to these questions.

In this paper, we study the maximal length of maximal green sequences for quivers of type $\widetilde{\mathbf{D}}$ and $\widetilde{\mathbf{E}}$ by using the theory of tilting mutation. We show that the maximal length does not depend on the choice of the orientation, and determine it explicitly. Moreover, we give a program which counts all maximal green sequences by length for a given Dynkin/extended Dynkin quiver.

In 1996, Edelman and Reiner defined the two higher Stasheff--Tamari orders on triangulations of cyclic polytopes and conjectured them to coincide. We open up an algebraic angle for approaching this conjecture by showing how these orders arise naturally in the representation theory of the higher Auslander algebras of type $A$, denoted $A_{n}^{d}$. For this we give new combinatorial interpretations of the orders, making them comparable. We then translate these combinatorial interpretations into the algebraic framework. We also show how triangulations of odd-dimensional cyclic polytopes arise in the representation theory of $A_{n}^{d}$, namely as equivalence classes of maximal green sequences. We furthermore give the odd-dimensional counterpart to the known description of $2d$-dimensional triangulations as sets of non-intersecting $d$-simplices of a maximal size. This consists in a definition of two new properties which imply that a set of $d$-simplices produces a $(2d+1)$-dimensional triangulation.

For an element $w$ of the simply-laced Weyl group, Buan-Iyama-Reiten-Scott defined a subcategory $\mathcal{F}(w)$ of a module category over a preprojective algebra of Dynkin type. This paper aims at studying categorical properties of $\mathcal{F}(w)$ via its connection with the root system. We show that by taking dimension vectors, simple objects in $\mathcal{F}(w)$ bijectively correspond to Bruhat inversion roots of $w$. As an application, we obtain a combinatorial criterion for $\mathcal{F}(w)$ to satisfy the Jordan-Hölder property (JHP). To achieve this, we develop a method to find simple objects in a general torsion-free class by using a brick sequence associated to a maximal green sequence of it. For type A case, we give a diagrammatic construction of simple objects, and show that (JHP) can be characterized via a forest-like permutation, introduced by Bousquet-Mélou and Butler in the study of Schubert varieties.
A survey on maximal green sequences
Maximal green sequences appear in the study of Fomin-Zelevinsky's cluster algebras. They are useful for computing refined Donaldson-Thomas invariants, constructing twist automorphisms and proving the existence of theta bases and generic bases. We survey recent progress on their existence and properties and give a representation-theoretic proof of Greg Muller's theorem stating that full subquivers inherit maximal green sequences. In the appendix, Laurent Demonet describes maximal chains of torsion classes in terms of bricks generalizing a theorem by Igusa.

We introduce a new method for producing both maximal green and reddening sequences of quivers. The method, called component preserving mutations, generalizes the notion of direct sums of quivers and can be used as a tool to both recover known reddening sequences as well as find reddening sequences that were previously unknown. We use the method to produce and recover maximal green sequences for many bipartite recurrent quivers that show up in the study of periodicity of $T$-systems and $Y$-systems. Additionally, we show how our method relates to the dominance phenomenon recently considered by Reading. Given a maximal green sequence produced by our method, this relation to dominance gives a maximal green sequence for infinitely many other quivers. Other applications of this new methodology are explored including computing of quantum dilogarithm identities and determining minimal length maximal green sequences.

I prove that the full Fock-Goncharov conjecture holds for $\mathrm{Conf}_3^\times(\widetilde{\mathcal{F}\hspace{-1.6pt}\ell})$-- the configuration space of triples of decorated flags in generic position. As a key ingredient of this proof, I exhibit a maximal green sequence for the quiver of the initial seed. I compute the Landau-Ginzburg potential $W$ on $\mathrm{Conf}_3^\times(\widetilde{\mathcal{F}\hspace{-1.6pt}\ell})^\vee$ associated to the partial minimal model $\mathrm{Conf}_3^\times(\widetilde{\mathcal{F}\hspace{-1.6pt}\ell}) \subset \mathrm{Conf}_3(\widetilde{\mathcal{F}\hspace{-1.6pt}\ell})$. The integral points of the associated "cone" ${Ξ:=\left\{W^T \geq 0\right\} \subset \mathrm{Conf}_3^\times(\widetilde{\mathcal{F}\hspace{-1.6pt}\ell})^\vee\left({\mathbb{R}^T}\right)}$ parametrize a basis for $\mathcal{O}\left(\mathrm{Conf}_3(\widetilde{\mathcal{F}\hspace{-1.6pt}\ell})\right) = \bigoplus \left(V_α\otimes V_β\otimes V_γ\right)^G$ and encode the Littlewood-Richardson coefficients $c^γ_{αβ}$. In the initial seed, the inequalities defining $Ξ$ are exactly Zelevinsky's tail positivity conditions. I exhibit a unimodular $p^*$ map that identifies $W$ with the potential of Goncharov-Shen on $\mathrm{Conf}_3^\times(\widetilde{\mathcal{F}\hspace{-1.6pt}\ell})$ and $Ξ$ with the Knutson-Tao hive cone.

Maximal green sequences are important objects in representation theory, cluster algebras, and string theory. It is an open problem to determine what lengths are achieved by the maximal green sequences of a quiver. We combine the combinatorics of surface triangulations and the basics of scattering diagrams to address this problem. Our main result is a formula for the length of minimal length maximal green sequences of quivers defined by triangulations of an annulus or a punctured disk.

We study properties of minimal mutation-infinite quivers. In particular we show that every minimal-mutation infinite quiver of at least rank 4 is Louise and has a maximal green sequence. It then follows that the cluster algebras generated by these quivers are locally acyclic and hence equal to their upper cluster algebra. We also study which quivers in a mutation-class have a maximal green sequence. For any rank 3 quiver there are at most 6 quivers in its mutation class that admit a maximal green sequence. We also show that for every rank 4 minimal mutation-infinite quiver there is a finite connected subgraph of the unlabelled exchange graph consisting of quivers that admit a maximal green sequence.
Maximal green sequences for quivers of finite mutation type

In general, the existence of a maximal green sequence is not mutation invariant. In this paper we show that it is in fact mutation invariant for cluster quivers of finite mutation type. In particular, we show that a mutation finite cluster quiver has a maximal green sequence unless it arises from a once-punctured closed marked surface, or one of the two quivers in the mutation class of X7. We develop a procedure to explicitly find maximal green sequences for cluster quivers associated to arbitrary triangulations of closed marked surfaces with at least two punctures. As a corollary, it follows that any triangulation of a marked surface with boundary has a maximal green sequence. We also compute explicit maximal green sequences for exceptional quivers of finite mutation type.

Cluster automorphisms have been shown to have links to the mapping class groups of surfaces, maximal green sequences and to exchange graph automorphisms for skew-symmetric cluster algebras. In this paper we aim to generalise these results to the skew-symmetrizable case by introducing a marking on the exchange graph. Many skew-symmetrizable matrices unfold to skew-symmetric matrices and we consider how cluster automorphisms behave under this unfolding with applications to coverings of orbifolds by surfaces.
