Introduced by C. R. Shallon in 1979, graph algebras establish a useful connection between graph theory and universal algebra. This makes it possible to investigate graph varieties and graph quasivarieties, i.e., classes of graphs described by identities or quasi-identities. In this paper, graph quasivarieties are characterized as classes of graphs closed under directed unions of isomorphic copies of finite strong pointed subproducts.
Cutoff on Graphs and the Sarnak-Xue Density of Eigenvalues

It was recently shown by Lubetzky and Peres (2016) and by Sardari (2018) that Ramanujan graphs, i.e., graphs with the optimal spectrum, exhibit cutoff of the simple random walk in an optimal time and have an optimal almost-diameter. We show that this spectral condition can be replaced by a weaker condition, the Sarnak-Xue density property, to deduce similar results. This allows us to prove that some natural families of Schreier graphs of the $SL_2(\mathbb{F}_t)$-action on the projective line exhibit cutoff, thus proving a special case of a conjecture of Rivin and Sardari.
Tensegrities on the space of generic functions
In this small note we introduce a notion of self-stresses on the set functions in two variables with generic critical points. The notion naturally comes from a rather exotic representation of classical Maxwell frameworks in terms of differential forms. For the sake of clarity we work in the two-dimensional case only. However all the definitions for the higher dimensional case are straightforward.

Let $X= \{x_1, x_2, \cdots, x_n\}$ be a finite alphabet, and let $K$ be a field. We study classes $\mathfrak{C}(X, W)$ of graded $K$-algebras $A = K\langle X\rangle / I$, generated by $X$ and with a fixed set of obstructions $W$. Initially we do not impose restrictions on $W$ and investigate the case when all algebras in $\mathfrak{C} (X, W)$ have polynomial growth and finite global dimension $d$. Next we consider classes $\mathfrak{C} (X, W)$ of algebras whose sets of obstructions $W$ are antichains of Lyndon words. The central question is "when a class $\mathfrak{C} (X, W)$ contains Artin-Schelter regular algebras?" Each class $\mathfrak{C} (X, W)$ defines a Lyndon pair $(N,W)$ which determines uniquely the global dimension, $gl\dim A$, and the Gelfand-Kirillov dimension, $GK\dim A$, for every $A \in \mathfrak{C}(X, W)$. We find a combinatorial condition in terms of $(N,W)$, so that the class $\mathfrak{C}(X, W)$ contains the enveloping algebra $U\mathfrak{g}$ of a Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$. We introduce monomial Lie algebras defined by Lyndon words, and prove results on Groebner-Shirshov bases of Lie ideals generated by Lyndon-Lie monomials. Finally we classify all two-generated Artin-Schelter regular algebras of global dimensions $6$ and $7$ occurring as enveloping $U = U\mathfrak{g}$ of standard monomial Lie algebras. The classification is made in terms of their Lyndon pairs $(N, W)$, each of which determines also the explicit relations of $U$.

Veit Elser proposed a random graph model for percolation in which physical dimension appears as a parameter. Studying this model combinatorially leads naturally to the consideration of numerical graph invariants which we call \emph{Elser numbers} $\mathsf{els}_k(G)$, where $G$ is a connected graph and $k$ a nonnegative integer. Elser had proven that $\mathsf{els}_1(G)=0$ for all $G$. By interpreting the Elser numbers as Euler characteristics of appropriate simplicial complexes called \emph{nucleus complexes}, we prove that for all graphs $G$, they are nonpositive when $k=0$ and nonnegative for $k\geq2$. The last result confirms a conjecture of Elser. Furthermore, we give necessary and sufficient conditions, in terms of the 2-connected structure of~$G$, for the nonvanishing of the Elser numbers.
Compatible algebras with straightening laws on distributive lattices
We characterize the finite distributive lattices on which there exists a unique compatible algebra with straightening laws.
On Mappings on the Hypercube with Small Average Stretch
Let $A \subseteq \{0,1\}^n$ be a set of size $2^{n-1}$, and let $φ\colon \{0,1\}^{n-1} \to A$ be a bijection. We define the average stretch of $φ$ as ${\sf avgStretch}(φ) = {\mathbb E}[{\sf dist}(φ(x),φ(x'))]$, where the expectation is taken over uniformly random $x,x' \in \{0,1\}^{n-1}$ that differ in exactly one coordinate. In this paper we continue the line of research studying mappings on the discrete hypercube with small average stretch. We prove the following results.
(1) For any set $A \subseteq \{0,1\}^n$ of density $1/2$ there exists a bijection $φ_A \colon \{0,1\}^{n-1} \to A$ such that ${\sf avgstretch}(φ_A) = O(\sqrt{n})$.
(2) For $n = 3^k$ let $A_{{\sf rec\text{-}maj}} = \{x \in \{0,1\}^n : {\sf rec\text{-}maj}(x) = 1\}$, where ${\sf rec\text{-}maj} : \{0,1\}^n \to \{0,1\}$ is the function recursive majority of 3's. There exists a bijection $φ_{{\sf rec\text{-}maj}} \colon \{0,1\}^{n-1} \to A_{\sf rec\text{-}maj}$ such that ${\sf avgstretch}(φ_{\sf rec\text{-}maj}) = O(1)$.
(3) Let $A_{\sf tribes} = \{x \in \{0,1\}^n : {\sf tribes}(x) = 1\}$. There exists a bijection $φ_{\sf tribes} \colon \{0,1\}^{n-1} \to A_{\sf tribes}$ such that ${\sf avgstretch}(φ_{\sf tribes}) = O(\log(n))$.
These results answer the questions raised by Benjamini et al.\ (FOCS 2014).

In 2004, Ehrenfeucht, Harju, and Rozenberg showed that any graph on a vertex set $V$ can be obtained from a complete graph on $V$ via a sequence of the operations of complementation, switching edges and non-edges at a vertex, and local complementation. The last operation involves taking the complement in the neighbourhood of a vertex. In this paper, we consider natural generalizations of these operations for binary matroids and explore their behaviour. We characterize all binary matroids obtainable from the binary projective geometry of rank $r$ under the operations of complementation and switching. Moreover, we show that not all binary matroids of rank at most $r$ can be obtained from a projective geometry of rank $r$ via a sequence of the three generalized operations. We introduce a fourth operation and show that, with this additional operation, we are able to obtain all binary matroids.

With a computer-aided approach based on the connection with equitable partitions, we establish the uniqueness of the orthogonal array OA$(1536,13,2,7)$, constructed in [D.G.Fon-Der-Flaass. Perfect $2$-Colorings of a Hypercube, Sib. Math. J. 48 (2007), 740-745] as an equitable partition of the $13$-cube with quotient matrix $[[0,13],[3,10]]$. By shortening the OA$(1536,13,2,7)$, we obtain $3$ inequivalent orthogonal arrays OA$(768,12,2,6)$, which is a complete classification for these parameters too. After our computing, the first parameters of unclassified binary orthogonal arrays OA$(N,n,2,t)$ attending the Friedman bound $N\ge 2^n(1-n/2(t+1))$ are OA$(2048,14,2,7)$. Such array can be obtained by puncturing any binary $1$-perfect code of length $15$. We construct orthogonal arrays with these and similar parameters OA$(N=2^{n-m+1},n=2^m-2,2,t=2^{m-1}-1)$, $m\ge 4$, that are not punctured $1$-perfect codes. Additionally, we prove that any orthogonal array OA$(N,n,2,t)$ with even $t$ attending the bound $N \ge 2^n(1-(n+1)/2(t+2))$ induces an equitable $3$-partition of the $n$-cube.

Young's lattice is a partial order on integer partitions whose saturated chains correspond to standard Young tableaux, one type of combinatorial object that generates the Schur basis for symmetric functions. Generalizing Young's lattice, we introduce a new partial order on weak compositions that we call the key poset. Saturated chains in this poset correspond to standard key tableaux, the combinatorial objects that generate the key polynomials, a nonsymmetric polynomial generalization of the Schur basis. Generalizing skew Schur functions, we define skew key polynomials in terms of this new poset. Using weak dual equivalence, we give a nonnegative weak composition Littlewood-Richardson rule for the key expansion of skew key polynomials, generalizing the flagged Littlewood-Richardson rule of Reiner and Shimozono.
Pure Nash Equilibria and Best-Response Dynamics in Random Games
In finite games mixed Nash equilibria always exist, but pure equilibria may fail to exist. To assess the relevance of this nonexistence, we consider games where the payoffs are drawn at random. In particular, we focus on games where a large number of players can each choose one of two possible strategies, and the payoffs are i.i.d. with the possibility of ties. We provide asymptotic results about the random number of pure Nash equilibria, such as fast growth and a central limit theorem, with bounds for the approximation error. Moreover, by using a new link between percolation models and game theory, we describe in detail the geometry of Nash equilibria and show that, when the probability of ties is small, a best-response dynamics reaches a Nash equilibrium with a probability that quickly approaches one as the number of players grows. We show that a multitude of phase transitions depend only on a single parameter of the model, that is, the probability of having ties.
A class of linear sets in PG(1,q^5)
The maximum scattered linear sets in $PG(1,q^n)$ have been completely classified for $n \le 4$ by Csajbók-Zanella and Lavrauw-Van de Voorde. Here a wide class of linear sets in $PG(1,q^5)$ is studied which depends on two parameters. Conditions for the existence, in this class, of possible new maximum scattered linear sets in $PG(1,q^5)$ are exhibited.
On the minimum degree of the power graph of a finite cyclic group
The power graph $\mathcal{P}(G)$ of a finite group $G$ is the simple undirected graph whose vertex set is $G$, in which two distinct vertices are adjacent if one of them is an integral power of the other. For an integer $n\geq 2$, let $C_n$ denote the cyclic group of order $n$ and let $r$ be the number of distinct prime divisors of $n$. The minimum degree $δ(\mathcal{P}(C_n))$ of $\mathcal{P}(C_n)$ is known for $r\in\{1,2\}$, see [18]. For $r\geq 3$, under certain conditions involving the prime divisors of $n$, we identify at most $r-1$ vertices such that $δ(\mathcal{P}(C_n))$ is equal to the degree of at least one of these vertices. If $r=3$ or if $n$ is a product of distinct primes, we are able to identify two such vertices without any condition on the prime divisors of $n$.
On the packing for triples
For positive integers $n\geq k\geq t$, a collection $ \mathcal{B} $ of $k$-subsets of an $n$-set $ X $ is called a $t$-packing if every $t$-subset of $ X $ appears in at most one set in $\mathcal{B}$. In this paper, we give some upper and lower bounds for the maximum size of $3$-packings when $n$ is sufficiently larger than $k$. In one case, the upper and lower bounds are equal, in some cases, they differ by at most an additive constant depending only on $k$ and in one case they differ by a linear bound in $ n $.

We study three dimensional array of numbers $B(n,k,j)$, $0\le j,k\le n$, where $B(n,k,j)$ is the number of type $B$ permutations of order $n$ with $k$ descents and $j$ minus signs. We prove in particular, that $b(n,k,j):=B(n,k,j)/\binom{n}{j}$ is an integer and provide two combinatorial interpretations for these numbers.

We prove that any $q$-automatic multiplicative function $f:\mathbb{N}\to\mathbb{C}$ either essentially coincides with a Dirichlet character, or vanishes on all sufficiently large primes. This confirms a strong form of a conjecture of J. Bell, N. Bruin, and M. Coons.
Computing the Laplacian spectrum of linear octagonal-quadrilateral networks and its applications
Let Ln denote linear octagonal-quadrilateral networks. In this paper, we aim to firstly investigate the Laplacian spectrum on the basis of Laplacian polynomial of Ln. Then, by applying the relationship between the coefficients and roots of the polynomials, the Kirchhoff index and the complexity are determined.
A general q-expansion formula based on matrix inversions and its applications
In this paper, by use of matrix inversions, we establish a general $q$-expansion formula of arbitrary formal power series $F(z)$ with respect to the base $$\left\{z^n\frac{(az:q)_n}{(bz:q)_n}\bigg|n=0,1,2\cdots\right\}.$$ Some concrete expansion formulas and their applications to $q$-series identities are presented, including Carlitz's $q$-expansion formula, a new partial theta function identity and a coefficient identity of Ramanujan's ${}_1ψ_1$ summation formula as special cases.
Some algebraic properties of a class of integral graphs determined by their spectrum
Let $Γ=(V,E)$ be a graph. If all the eigenvalues of the adjacency matrix of the graph $Γ$ are integers, then we say that $Γ$ is an integral graph. A graph $Γ$ is determined by its spectrum if every graph cospectral to it is in fact isomorphic to it. In this paper, we investigate some algebraic properties of the Cayley graph $Γ=Cay(\mathbb{Z}_{n}, S)$, where $n=p^m$, ($p$ is a prime integer, $m\in\mathbb{N}$) and $S=\{{a}\in\mathbb{Z}_{n}\,|\,\, (a, n)=1\}$. First, we show that $Γ$ is an integral graph. Also we determine the automorphism group of $Γ$. Moreover, we show that $Γ$ and $K_v \bigtriangledownΓ$ are determined by their spectrum.
