A connected graph $G$ with at least $2m + 2n + 2$ vertices which contains a perfect matching is $E(m, n)$-{\it extendable}, if for any two sets of disjoint independent edges $M$ and $N$ with $|M| = m$ and $|N|= n$, there is a perfect matching $F$ in $G$ such that $M\subseteq F$ and $N\cap F=\emptyset$. Similarly, a connected graph with at least $n+2k+2$ vertices is called $(n,k)$-{\it extendable} if for any vertex set $S$ of size $n$ and any matching $M$ of size $k$ of $G-S$, $G-S-V(M)$ contains a perfect matching. Let $\varepsilon$ be a small positive constant, $b(G)$ and $t(G)$ be the binding number and toughness of a graph $G$. The two main theorems of this paper are: for every graph $G$ with sufficiently large order, 1) if $b(G)\geq 4/3+\varepsilon$, then $G$ is $E(m,n)$-extendable and also $(n,k)$-extendable; 2) if $t(G)\geq 1+\varepsilon$ and $G$ has a high connectivity, then $G$ is $E(m,n)$-extendable and also $(n,k)$-extendable. It is worth to point out that the binding number and toughness conditions for the existence of the general matching extension properties are almost same as that for the existence of perfect matchings.
Graphs of Vectorial Plateaued Functions as Difference Sets
A function $F:\mathbb{F}_{p^n}\rightarrow \mathbb{F}_{p^m},$ is a vectorial $s$-plateaued function if for each component function $F_{b}(μ)=Tr_n(αF(x)), b\in \mathbb{F}_{p^m}^*$ and $μ\in \mathbb{F}_{p^n}$, the Walsh transform value $|\widehat{F_{b}}(μ)|$ is either $0$ or $ p^{\frac{n+s}{2}}$. In this paper, we explore the relation between (vectorial) $s$-plateaued functions and partial geometric difference sets. Moreover, we establish the link between three-valued cross-correlation of $p$-ary sequences and vectorial $s$-plateaued functions. Using this link, we provide a partition of $\mathbb{F}_{3^n}$ into partial geometric difference sets. Conversely, using a partition of $\mathbb{F}_{3^n}$ into partial geometric difference sets, we constructed ternary plateaued functions $f:\mathbb{F}_{3^n}\rightarrow \mathbb{F}_3$. We also give a characterization of $p$-ary plateaued functions in terms of special matrices which enables us to give the link between such functions and second-order derivatives using a different approach.
Characterisation and classification of signatures of spanning trees of the $n$-cube

The signature of a spanning tree $T$ of the $n$-cube $Q_n$ is the $n$-tuple $\mathrm{sig}(T)=(a_1,a_2,\dots,a_n)$ such that $a_i$ is the number of edges of $T$ in the $i$th direction. We characterise the $n$-tuples that can occur as the signature of a spanning tree, and classify a signature $\mathcal{S}$ as reducible or irreducible according to whether or not there is a proper nonempty subset $R$ of $[n]$ such that restricting $\mathcal{S}$ to the indices in $R$ gives a signature of $Q_{|R|}$. If so, we say moreover that $\mathcal{S}$ and $T$ reduce over $R$.
We show that reducibility places strict structural constraints on $T$. In particular, if $T$ reduces over a set of size $r$ then $T$ decomposes as a sum of $2^r$ spanning trees of $Q_{n-r}$, together with a spanning tree of a contraction of $Q_n$ with underlying simple graph $Q_r$. Moreover, this decomposition is realised by an isomorphism of edge slide graphs, where the edge slide graph of $Q_n$ is the graph $\mathcal{E}(Q_n)$ on the spanning trees of $Q_n$, with an edge between two trees if and only if they are related by an edge slide. An edge slide is an operation on spanning trees of the $n$-cube given by ``sliding'' an edge of a spanning tree across a $2$-dimensional face of the cube to get a second spanning tree.
The signature of a spanning tree is invariant under edge slides, so the subgraph $\mathcal{E}(\mathcal{S})$ of $\mathcal{E}(Q_n)$ induced by the trees with signature $\mathcal{S}$ is a union of one or more connected components of $\mathcal{E}(Q_n)$. Reducible signatures may be further divided into strictly reducible and quasi-irreducible signatures, and as an application of our results we show that $\mathcal{E}(\mathcal{S})$ is disconnected if $\mathcal{S}$ is strictly reducible. We conjecture that the converse is also true.
Andrews-Gordon Type Series for Capparelli's and Göllnitz-Gordon Identities
We construct Andrews-Gordon type evidently positive series as generating functions for the partitions satisfying the difference conditions imposed by Capparelli's identities and Göllnitz-Gordon identities. The construction involves building base partitions, and move parts around subject to certain rules. Some missing cases are also considered, but no new identities are given.
Eulerian summation operators and a remarkable family of polynomials
We give several families of polynomials which are related by Eulerian summation operators. They satisfy interesting combinatorial properties like being integer-valued at integral points. This involves nearby-symmetries and a recursion for the values at half-integral points. We also obtain identities for super Catalan numbers.
The Turán number of Berge-K_4 in triple systems
A Berge-$K_4$ in a triple system is a configuration with four vertices $v_1,v_2,v_3,v_4$ and six distinct triples $\{e_{ij}: 1\le i< j \le 4\}$ such that $\{v_i,v_j\}\subset e_{ij}$ for every $1\le i<j\le 4$. We denote by $\cal{B}$ the set of Berge-$K_4$ configurations. A triple system is $\cal{B}$-free if it does not contain any member of $\cal{B}$. We prove that the maximum number of triples in a $\cal{B}$-free triple system on $n\ge 6$ points is obtained by the balanced complete $3$-partite triple system: all triples $\{abc: a\in A, b\in B, c\in C\}$ where $A,B,C$ is a partition of $n$ points with $$\left\lfloor{n\over 3}\right\rfloor=|A|\le |B|\le |C|=\left\lceil{n\over 3}\right\rceil.$$
Sharp upper and lower bounds for the spectral radius of a nonnegative weakly irreducible tensor and its applications
In this paper, we obtain the sharp upper and lower bounds for the spectral radius of a nonnegative weakly irreducible tensor. We also apply these bounds to the adjacency spectral radius and signless Laplacian spectral radius of a uniform hypergraph.
Progress on misère dead ends: game comparison, canonical form, and conjugate inverses
This paper addresses several significant gaps in the theory of restricted misère play (Plambeck, Siegel 2008), primarily in the well-studied universe of dead-ending games, $\mathcal{E}$ (Milley, Renault 2013); if a player run out of moves in $X\in \mathcal E$, then they can never move again in any follower of $X$. A universe of games is a class of games which is closed under disjunctive sum, taking options and conjugates. We use novel results from absolute combinatorial game theory (Larsson, Nowakowski, Santos 2017) to show that $\mathcal{E}$ and the universe $\mathcal{D}\subset \mathcal{E}$ of dicot games (either both, or none of the players can move) have 'options only' test for comparison of games, and this in turn is used to define unique reduced games (canonical forms) in $\mathcal{E}$. We develop the reductions for $\mathcal{E}$ by extending analogous work for $\mathcal{D}$, in particular by solving the problem of reversibility through ends in the larger universe. Finally, by using the defined canonical forms in $\mathcal{E}$ and $\mathcal{D}$, we prove that both of these universes, as well as the subuniverse of impartial games, have the conjugate property: every inverse game is obtained by swapping sides of the players.

Regular maps on linear fractional groups $PSL(2,q)$ and $PGL(2,q$) have been studied for many years and the theory is well-developed, including generating sets for the asscoiated groups. This paper studies the properties of self-duality, self-Petrie-duality and Möbius regularity in this context, providing necessary and sufficient conditions for each case. We also address the special case for regular maps of type (5,5). The final section includes an enumeration of the $PSL(2,q)$ maps for $q\le81$ and a list of all the $PSL(2,q)$ maps which have any of these special properties for $q\le49$.

Let $p$ be a prime, $e$ a positive integer, $q = p^e$, and let $\mathbb{F}_q$ denote the finite field of $q$ elements. Let $f_i : \mathbb{F}_q^2\to\mathbb{F}_q$ be arbitrary functions, where $1\le i\le l$, $i$ and $l$ are integers. The digraph $D = D(q;\bf{f})$, where ${\bf f}=(f_1,\dotso,f_l) : \mathbb{F}_q^2\to\mathbb{F}_q^l$, is defined as follows. The vertex set of $D$ is $\mathbb{F}_q^{l+1}$. There is an arc from a vertex ${\bf x} = (x_1,\dotso,x_{l+1})$ to a vertex ${\bf y} = (y_1,\dotso,y_{l+1})$ if $ x_i + y_i = f_{i-1}(x_1,y_1) $ for all $i$, $2\le i \le l+1$. In this paper we study the strong connectivity of $D$ and completely describe its strong components. The digraphs $D$ are directed analogues of some algebraically defined graphs, which have been studied extensively and have many applications.
The saturation number of carbon nanocones and nanotubes
The saturation number of a graph is the cardinality of a smallest maximal matching. This paper presents bounds for the saturation number of carbon nanocones which are asymptotically equal. The same techniques are applied for the saturation number of certain families of carbon nanotubes, which improve previous results and in one case, yields the exact value.

In this paper we study the diameter of $D(q; {\bf f})$ in the special case of monomial digraphs $D(q; m,n)$: ${\bf f} = f_1$ and $f_1(x,y) = x^m y^n$ for some nonnegative integers $m$ and $n$.

Let $p$ be a prime $e$ be a positive integer, $q = p^e$, and let $\mathbb{F}_q$ denote the finite field of $q$ elements. Let $m,n$, $1\le m,n\le q-1$, be integers. The monomial digraph $D= D(q;m,n)$ is defined as follows: the vertex set of $D$ is $\mathbb{F}_q^2$, and $((x_1,x_2),(y_1,y_2))$ is an arc in $D$ if $ x_2 + y_2 = x_1^m y_1^n $. In this note we study the question of isomorphism of monomial digraphs $D(q;m_1,n_1)$ and $D(q;m_2,n_2)$. Several necessary conditions and several sufficient conditions for the isomorphism are found. We conjecture that one simple sufficient condition is also a necessary one.
On the number of biased graphs

A biased graph is a graph $G$, together with a distinguished subset $\mathcal{B}$ of its cycles so that no Theta-subgraph of $G$ contains precisely two cycles in $\mathcal{B}$. A large number of biased graphs can be constructed by choosing $G$ to be a complete graph, and $\mathcal{B}$ to be an arbitrary subset of its Hamilton cycles. We show that, on the logarithmic scale, the total number of simple biased graphs on $n$ vertices does not asymptotically exceed the number that can be constructed in this elementary way.
Almost p-ary Sequences
In this paper we study almost $p$-ary sequences and their autocorrelation coefficients. We first study the number $\ell$ of distinct out-of-phase autocorrelation coefficients for an almost $p$-ary sequence of period $n+s$ with $s$ consecutive zero-symbols. We prove an upper bound and a lower bound on $\ell$. It is shown that $\ell$ can not be less than $\min\{s,p,n\}$. In particular, it is shown that a nearly perfect sequence with at least two consecutive zero symbols does not exist. Next we define a new difference set, partial direct product difference set (PDPDS), and we prove the connection between an almost $p$-ary nearly perfect sequence of type $(γ_1, γ_2)$ and period $n+2$ with two consecutive zero-symbols and a cyclic $(n+2,p,n,\frac{n-γ_2 - 2}{p}+γ_2,0,\frac{n-γ_1 -1}{p}+γ_1,\frac{n-γ_2 - 2}{p},\frac{n-γ_1 -1}{p})$ PDPDS for arbitrary integers $γ_1$ and $γ_2$. Then we prove a necessary condition on $γ_2$ for the existence of such sequences. In particular, we show that they don't exist for $γ_2 \leq -3$.
Edge Coloring Signed Graphs

We define a method for edge coloring signed graphs and what it means for such a coloring to be proper. Our method has many desirable properties: it specializes to the usual notion of edge coloring when the signed graph is all-negative, it has a natural definition in terms of vertex coloring of a line graph, and the minimum number of colors required for a proper coloring of a signed simple graph is bounded above by Δ + 1 in parallel with Vizing's Theorem. In fact, Vizing's Theorem is a special case of the more difficult theorem concerning signed graphs.
Refining the bijections among ascent sequences, (2+2)-free posets, integer matrices and pattern-avoiding permutations

The combined work of Bousquet-Mélou, Claesson, Dukes, Jelínek, Kitaev, Kubitzke and Parviainen has resulted in non-trivial bijections among ascent sequences, (2+2)-free posets, upper-triangular integer matrices, and pattern-avoiding permutations. To probe the finer behavior of these bijections, we study two types of restrictions on ascent sequences. These restrictions are motivated by our results that their images under the bijections are natural and combinatorially significant. In addition, for one restriction, we are able to determine the effect of poset duality on the corresponding ascent sequences, matrices and permutations, thereby answering a question of the first author and Parviainen in this case. The second restriction should appeal to Catalaniacs.
Graphs admitting only constant splines

We study {\em generalized graph splines,} introduced by Gilbert, Viel, and the last author. For a large class of rings, we characterize the graphs that only admit constant splines. To do this, we prove that if a graph has a particular type of cutset (e.g., a bridge), then the space of splines naturally decomposes as a certain direct sum of submodules. As an application, we use these results to describe splines on a triangulation studied by Zhou and Lai, but over a different ring than they used.
Parameterized Orientable Deletion

A graph is $d$-orientable if its edges can be oriented so that the maximum in-degree of the resulting digraph is at most $d$. $d$-orientability is a well-studied concept with close connections to fundamental graph-theoretic notions and applications as a load balancing problem. In this paper we consider the d-ORIENTABLE DELETION problem: given a graph $G=(V,E)$, delete the minimum number of vertices to make $G$ $d$-orientable. We contribute a number of results that improve the state of the art on this problem. Specifically:
- We show that the problem is W[2]-hard and $\log n$-inapproximable with respect to $k$, the number of deleted vertices. This closes the gap in the problem's approximability.
- We completely characterize the parameterized complexity of the problem on chordal graphs: it is FPT parameterized by $d+k$, but W-hard for each of the parameters $d,k$ separately.
- We show that, under the SETH, for all $d,ε$, the problem does not admit a $(d+2-ε)^{tw}$, algorithm where $tw$ is the graph's treewidth, resolving as a special case an open problem on the complexity of PSEUDOFOREST DELETION.
- We show that the problem is W-hard parameterized by the input graph's clique-width. Complementing this, we provide an algorithm running in time $d^{O(d\cdot cw)}$, showing that the problem is FPT by $d+cw$, and improving the previously best known algorithm for this case.
The structure of claw-free binary matroids

A simple binary matroid is called claw-free if none of its rank-3 flats are independent sets. These objects can be equivalently defined as the sets $E$ of points in $\mathrm{PG}(n-1,2)$ for which $|E \cap P|$ is not a basis of $P$ for any plane $P$, or as the subsets $X$ of $\mathbb{F}_2^n$ containing no linearly independent triple $x,y,z$ for which $x+y,y+z,x+z,x+y+z \notin X$.
We prove a decomposition theorem that exactly determines the structure of all claw-free matroids. The theorem states that claw-free matroids either belong to one of three particular basic classes of claw-free matroids, or can be constructed from these basic classes using a certain 'join' operation.
