It is shown that the direct limit of the semistandard decomposition tableau model for polynomial representations of the queer Lie superalgebra exists, which is believed to be the crystal for the upper half of the corresponding quantum group. An extension of this model to describe the direct limit combinatorially is given. Furthermore, it is shown that the polynomial representations may be recovered from the limit in most cases.

We construct a uniform model for highest weight crystals and $B(\infty)$ for generalized Kac--Moody algebras using rigged configurations. We also show an explicit description of the $\ast$-involution on rigged configurations for $B(\infty)$: that the $\ast$-involution interchanges the rigging and the corigging. We do this by giving a recognition theorem for $B(\infty)$ using the $\ast$-involution. As a consequence, we also characterize $B(λ)$ as a subcrystal of $B(\infty)$ using the $\ast$-involution.

We explicitly describe the isomorphism between two combinatorial realizations of Kashiwara's infinity crystal in types B and C. The first realization is in terms of marginally large tableaux and the other is in terms of Kostant partitions coming from PBW bases. We also discuss a stack notation for Kostant partitions which simplifies that realization.

Using the theory of PBW bases, one can realize the crystal $B(\infty)$ for any semisimple Lie algebra over $\mathbf{C}$ using Kostant partitions as the underlying set. In fact there are many such realizations, one for each reduced expression for the longest element of the Weyl group. There is an algorithm to calculate the actions of the crystal operators, but it can be quite complicated. Here we show that, for certain reduced expressions, the crystal operators can also be described by a much simpler bracketing rule. We give conditions describing these reduced expressions, and show that there is at least one example in every type except possibly $E_8$, $F_4$ and $G_2$. We then discuss some examples.

Lusztig's theory of PBW bases gives a way to realize the infinity crystal for any simple complex Lie algebra where the underlying set consists of Kostant partitions. In fact, there are many different such realizations, one for each reduced expression for the longest element of the Weyl group. There is an algorithm to calculate the actions of the crystal operators, but it can be quite complicated. For ADE types, we give conditions on the reduced expression which ensure that the corresponding crystal operators are given by simple combinatorial bracketing rules. We then give at least one reduced expression satisfying our conditions in every type except $E_8$, and discuss the resulting combinatorics. Finally, we describe the relationship with more standard tableaux combinatorics in types A and D.

In an earlier work, the authors developed a rigged configuration model for the crystal $B(\infty)$ (which also descends to a model for irreducible highest weight crystals via a cutting procedure). However, the result obtained was only valid in finite types, affine types, and simply-laced indefinite types. In this paper, we show that the rigged configuration model proposed does indeed hold for all symmetrizable types. As an application, we give an easy combinatorial condition that gives a Littlewood-Richardson rule using rigged configurations which is valid in all symmetrizable Kac-Moody types.

In recent work by Dani and Mainkar, a family of finite simple graphs was used to construct nilmanifolds admitting Anosov diffeomorphisms. Our main object of study is this particular set of graphs, which we call Anosov graphs. Moreover, Dani and Mainkar give a lower bound on the number of Anosov graphs in terms of the number of vertices and number of edges. In this work, we improve this lower bound in terms of vertices and edges, and we give lower and upper bounds solely in terms of the number of vertices.

A combinatorial description of the crystal B(infinity) for finite-dimensional simple Lie algebras in terms of certain Young tableaux was developed by J. Hong and H. Lee. We establish an explicit bijection between these Young tableaux and canonical bases indexed by Lusztig's parametrization, and obtain a combinatorial rule for expressing the Gindikin-Karpelevich formula as a sum over the set of Young tableaux.

The classical Gindikin-Karpelevich formula appears in Langlands' calculation of the constant terms of Eisenstein series on reductive groups and in Macdonald's work on p-adic groups and affine Hecke algebras. The formula has been generalized in the work of Garland to the affine Kac-Moody case, and the affine case has been geometrically constructed in a recent paper of Braverman, Finkelberg, and Kazhdan. On the other hand, there have been efforts to write the formula as a sum over Kashiwara's crystal basis or Lusztig's canonical basis, initiated by Brubaker, Bump, and Friedberg. In this paper, we write the affine Gindikin-Karpelevich formula as a sum over the crystal of generalized Young walls when the underlying Kac-Moody algebra is of affine type A_n^(1). The coefficients of the terms in the sum are determined explicitly by the combinatorial data from Young walls.

In the recent works of Brubaker-Bump-Friedberg, Bump-Nakasuji, and others, the product in the Casselman-Shalika formula is written as a sum over a crystal. The coefficient of each crystal element is defined using the data coming from the whole crystal graph structure. In this paper, we adopt the tableaux model for the crystal and obtain the same coefficients using data from each individual tableaux; i.e., we do not need to look at the graph structure. We also show how to combine our results with tensor products of crystals to obtain the sum of coefficients for a given weight. The sum is a q-polynomial which exhibits many interesting properties. We use examples to illustrate these properties.

A combinatorial description of the crystal $\mathcal{B}(\infty)$ for finite-dimensional simple Lie algebras in terms of Young tableaux was developed by J. Hong and H. Lee. Using this description, we obtain a combinatorial rule for expressing the Gindikin-Karpelevich formula as a sum over $\mathcal{B}(\infty)$ when the underlying Lie algebra is of type A. We also interpret our description in terms of MV polytopes and irreducible components of quiver varieties.
