We define parabolic quasi-Coxeter elements in well generated complex reflection groups. We characterize them in multiple natural ways, and we study two combinatorial objects associated with them: the collections $\operatorname{Red}_W(g)$ of reduced reflection factorizations of $g$ and $\operatorname{RGS}(W,g)$ of the relative generating sets of $g$. We compute the cardinalities of these sets for large families of parabolic quasi-Coxeter elements and, in particular, we relate the size $\#\operatorname{Red}_W(g)$ with geometric invariants of Frobenius manifolds. This paper is second in a series of three; we will rely on many of its results in part III to prove uniform formulas that enumerate full reflection factorizations of parabolic quasi-Coxeter elements, generalizing the genus-$0$ Hurwitz numbers.
The Gini Index in Algebraic Combinatorics and Representation Theory
The Gini index is a number that attempts to measure how equitably a resource is distributed throughout a population, and is commonly used in economics as a measurement of inequality of wealth or income. The Gini index is often defined as the area between the "Lorenz curve" of a distribution and the line of equality, normalized to be between zero and one. In this fashion, we will define a Gini index on the set of integer partitions and prove some combinatorial results related to it; culminating in the proof of an identity for the expected value of the Gini index. We will then discuss symmetric polynomials, and show that the Gini index can be understood as the degrees of certain Kostka-foulkes polynomials. This identification yields a generalization whereby we may define a Gini index on the irreducible representations of a complex reflection group, or connected reductive linear algebraic group.
On the Gauss-Epple homomorphism of the braid group $B_n$, and generalizations to Artin groups of crystallographic type
In this paper, we introduce a broad family of group homomorphisms that we name the Gauss-Epple homomorphisms. In the setting of braid groups, the Gauss-Epple invariant was originally defined by Epple based on a note of Gauss as an action of the braid group $B_n$ on the set $\{1, \dots, n\}\times\mathbb{Z}$; we prove that it is well-defined. We consider the associated group homomorphism from $B_n$ to the symmetric group $\text{Sym}(\{1, \dots, n\}\times\mathbb{Z})$. We prove that this homomorphism factors through $\mathbb{Z}^n\rtimes S_n$ (in fact, its image is an order 2 subgroup of the previous group). We also describe the kernel of the homomorphism and calculate the asymptotic probability that it contains a random braid of a given length. Furthermore, we discuss the super-Gauss-Epple homomorphism, a homomorphism which extends the generalization of the Gauss-Epple homomorphism and describe a related 1-cocycle of the symmetric group $S_n$ on the set of antisymmetric $n\times n$ matrices over the integers. We then generalize the super-Gauss-Epple homomorphism and the associated 1-cocycle to Artin groups of finite type. For future work, we suggest studying possible generalizations to complex reflection groups and computing the vector spaces of Gauss-Epple analogues.

The classical Hurwitz numbers count the fixed-length transitive transposition factorizations of a permutation, with a remarkable product formula for the case of minimum length (genus $0$). We study the analogue of these numbers for reflection groups with the following generalization of transitivity: say that a reflection factorization of an element in a reflection group $W$ is full if the factors generate the whole group $W$. We compute the generating function for full factorizations of arbitrary length for an arbitrary element in a group in the combinatorial family $G(m, p, n)$ of complex reflection groups in terms of the generating functions of the symmetric group $\mathfrak{S}_n$ and the cyclic group of order $m/p$. As a corollary, we obtain leading-term formulas which count minimum-length full reflection factorizations of an arbitrary element in $G(m,p,n)$ in terms of the Hurwitz numbers of genus $0$ and $1$ and number-theoretic functions. We also study the structural properties of such generating functions for any complex reflection group; in particular, we show via representation-theoretic methods that they can by expressed as finite sums of exponentials of the variable.

For an irreducible complex reflection group $W$ of rank $n$ containing $N$ reflections, we put $g=2N/n$ and construct a $(g+1)^n$-dimensional irreducible representation of the Cherednik algebra which is (as a vector space) a quotient of the diagonal coinvariant ring of $W$. We propose that this representation of the Cherednik algebra is the single largest representation bearing this relationship to the diagonal coinvariant ring, and that further corrections to this estimate of the dimension of the diagonal coinvariant ring by $(g+1)^n$ should be orders of magnitude smaller. A crucial ingredient in the construction is the existence of a dot action of a certain product of symmetric groups acting on the parameter space of the rational Cherednik algebra and leaving invariant both the finite Hecke algebra and the spherical subalgebra; this fact is a consequence of ideas of Berest-Chalykh on the relationship between the Cherednik algebra and quasi-invariants.
The lattice of nil-Hecke algebras over real and complex reflection groups
Associated to every complex reflection group, we construct a lattice of quotients of its braid monoid-algebra, which we term nil-Hecke algebras, and which are obtained by killing all braid words that are "sufficiently long", as well as some integer power of each generator. These include usual nil-Coxeter algebras, nil-Temperley-Lieb algebras, and their variants, and lead to symmetric semigroup module categories which necessarily cannot be monoidal.
Motivated by classical work of Coxeter (1957) and the Broue-Malle-Rouquier freeness conjecture [Crelle 1998], and continuing beyond work of the second author [Trans. Amer. Math. Soc. 2018], we obtain a complete classification of the finite-dimensional nil-Hecke algebras for all complex reflection groups $W$. These comprise the usual nil-Coxeter algebras for $W$ of finite type, their "fully commutative" analogues for $W$ of FC-finite type, three exceptional algebras (of types $F_4,H_3,H_4$), and three exceptional series (of types $B_n$ and $A_n$, two of them novel). In particular, we find the first - and only two - finite-dimensional nil-Hecke algebras over discrete complex reflection groups; this breaks from the nil-Coxeter case (where no braid words are further killed, and) where Marin [J. Pure Appl. Alg. 2014] and Khare [Trans. Amer. Math. Soc. 2018] showed that such algebras do not exist.
In addition to these algebras, and also algebraic connections (to PBW deformations and non-monoidal tensor categories), we further uncover combinatorial bases of algebras, both known (fully commutative elements) and novel ($\bar{12}$-avoiding signed permutations). Our classification draws from and brings together results of Popov [Comm. Math. Inst. Utrecht 1982], Stembridge [J. Alg. Combin. 1996, 1998], Malle [Transform. Groups} 1996], Postnikov via Gowravaram-Khovanova (2015), Hart [J. Group Th. 2017], and Khare [Trans. Amer. Math. Soc. 2018].
Hurwitz equivalence of reflection factorizations in $G_7$
We prove that two reflection factorizations of a given element in an exceptional rank-2 complex reflection group of tetrahedral type are Hurwitz-equivalent if and only if they generate the same subgroup and have the same multiset of conjugacy classes.

Fully commutative elements in types $B$ and $D$ are completely characterized and counted by Stembridge. Recently, Feinberg-Kim-Lee-Oh have extended the study of fully commutative elements from Coxeter groups to the complex setting, giving an enumeration of such elements in $G(m,1,n)$. In this note, we prove a connection between fully commutative elements in $B_n$ and in $G(m,1,n)$, which allows us to characterize fully commutative elements in $G(m,1,n )$ by pattern avoidance. Further, we present a counting formula for such elements in $G(m,1,n)$.

We enumerate Hurwitz orbits of shortest reflection factorizations of an arbitrary element in the infinite family $G(m, p, n)$ of complex reflection groups. As a consequence, we characterize the elements for which the action is transitive and give a simple criterion to tell when two shortest reflection factorizations belong to the same Hurwitz orbit. We also characterize the quasi-Coxeter elements (those with a shortest reflection factorization that generates the whole group) in $G(m, p, n)$.

We define a moduli space of rational curves with finite-order automorphism and weighted orbits, and we prove that the combinatorics of its boundary strata are encoded by a particular polytopal complex that also captures the algebraic structure of a complex reflection group acting on the moduli space. This generalizes the situation for Losev-Manin's moduli space of curves (whose boundary strata are encoded by the permutohedron and related to the symmetric group) as well as the situation for Batyrev-Blume's moduli space of curves with involution, and it extends that work beyond the toric context.

We provide a variety of cases in which two factorizations have Hurwitz orbits of the same size. We begin with prototypical results about factorizations of length two, and show that cycling elements or flipping and inverting elements in any factorization preserves Hurwitz orbit size. We prove that "double reverse" factorizations in groups with special presentations have Hurwitz orbits of equal size, and end with applications to complex reflection groups.

We derive a formula for the entries in the change-of-basis matrix between Young's seminormal and natural representations of the symmetric group. These entries are determined as sums over weighted paths in the weak Bruhat graph on standard tableaux, and we show that they can be computed recursively as the weighted sum of at most two previously-computed entries in the matrix. We generalize our results to work for affine Hecke algebras, Ariki-Koike algebras, Iwahori-Hecke algebras, and complex reflection groups given by the wreath product of a finite cyclic group with the symmetric group.
McKay quivers and Lusztig algebras of some finite groups

We are interested in the McKay quiver $Γ(G)$ and skew group rings $A*G$, where $G$ is a finite subgroup of $\mathrm{GL}(V)$, where $V$ is a finite dimensional vector space over a field $K$, and $A$ is a $K-G$-algebra. These skew group rings appear in Auslander's version of the McKay correspondence.
In the first part of this paper we consider complex reflection groups $G \subseteq \mathrm{GL}(V)$ and find a combinatorial method, making use of Young diagrams, to construct the McKay quivers for the groups $G(r,p,n)$. We first look at the case $G(1,1,n)$, which is isomorphic to the symmetric group $S_n$, followed by $G(r,1,n)$ for $r >1$. Then, using Clifford theory, we can determine the McKay quiver for any $G(r,p,n)$ and thus for all finite irreducible complex reflection groups up to finitely many exceptions.
In the second part of the paper we consider a more conceptual approach to McKay quivers of arbitrary finite groups: we define the Lusztig algebra $\widetilde A(G)$ of a finite group $G \subseteq \mathrm{GL}(V)$, which is Morita equivalent to the skew group ring $A*G$. This description gives us an embedding of the basic algebra Morita equivalent to $A*G$ into a matrix algebra over $A$.

A relationship between signed Eulerian polynomials and the classical Eulerian polynomials on $\mathfrak{S}_n$ was given by Désarménien and Foata in 1992, and a refined version, called signed Euler-Mahonian identity, together with a bijective proof were proposed by Wachs in the same year. By generalizing this bijection, in this paper we extend the above results to the Coxeter groups of types $B_n$, $D_n$, and the complex reflection group $G(r,1,n)$, where the `sign' is taken to be any one-dimensional character. Some obtained identities can be further restricted on some particular set of permutations. We also derive some new interesting sign-balance polynomials for types $B_n$ and $D_n$.

We study normal reflection subgroups of complex reflection groups. Our approach leads to a refinement of a theorem of Orlik and Solomon to the effect that the generating function for fixed-space dimension over a reflection group is a product of linear factors involving generalized exponents. Our refinement gives a uniform proof and generalization of a recent theorem of the second author.

We study the number of ways of factoring elements in the complex reflection groups G(r,s,n) as products of reflections. We prove a result that compares factorization numbers in G(r,s,n) to those in the symmetric group on n letters, and we use this comparison, along with the ELSV formula, to deduce a polynomial structure for factorizations in G(r,s,n).

Let $W$ be an irreducible complex reflection group acting on its reflection representation $V$. We consider the doubly graded action of $W$ on the exterior algebra $\wedge (V \oplus V^*)$ as well as its quotient $DR_W := \wedge (V \oplus V^*)/ \langle \wedge (V \oplus V^*)^{W}_+ \rangle$ by the ideal generated by its homogeneous $W$-invariants with vanishing constant term. We describe the bigraded isomorphism type of $DR_W$; when $W = \mathfrak{S}_n$ is the symmetric group, the answer is a difference of Kronecker products of hook-shaped $\mathfrak{S}_n$-modules. We relate the Hilbert series of $DR_W$ to the (type A) Catalan and Narayana numbers and describe a standard monomial basis of $DR_W$ using a variant of Motzkin paths. Our methods are type-uniform and involve a Lefschetz-like theory which applies to the exterior algebra $\wedge (V \oplus V^*)$.

This paper provides insights into the role of symmetry in studying polynomial functions vanishing to high order on an algebraic variety. The varieties we study are singular loci of hyperplane arrangements in projective space, with emphasis on arrangements arising from complex reflection groups. We provide minimal sets of equations for the radical ideals defining these singular loci and study containments between the ordinary and symbolic powers of these ideals.

We show that in the complex reflection group $G_6$, reflection factorizations of a Coxeter element that have the same length and multiset of conjugacy classes are in the same Hurwitz orbit. This confirms one case of a conjecture of Lewis and Reiner.
