For a real reflection group the reflecting hyperplanes cut out on the unit sphere a simplicial complex called the Coxeter complex. Abramenko showed that each reflecting hyperplane meets the Coxeter complex in another Coxeter complex if and only if the Coxeter diagram contains no subdiagram of type $D_4$, $F_4$, or $H_4$. The present paper extends Abramenko's result to a wider class of complex reflection groups. These groups have a Coxeter-like presentation and a Coxeter-like complex called the Milnor fiber complex. Our first main theorem classifies the groups whose reflecting hyperplanes meet the Milnor fiber complex in another Milnor fiber complex. To understand better the walls that fail to be Milnor fiber complexes we introduce Milnor walls. Our second main theorem generalizes Abramenko's result in a second way. It says that each wall of a Milnor fiber complex is a Milnor wall if and only if the diagram contains no subdiagram of type $D_4$, $F_4$, or $H_4$.
A refined count of Coxeter element factorizations

For well-generated complex reflection groups, Chapuy and Stump gave a simple product for a generating function counting reflection factorizations of a Coxeter element by their length. This is refined here to record the number of reflections used from each orbit of hyperplanes. The proof is case-by-case via the classification of well-generated groups. It implies a new expression for the Coxeter number, expressed via data coming from a hyperplane orbit; a case-free proof of this due to J. Michel is included.
Inductive Freeness of Ziegler's Canonical Multiderivations for Reflection Arrangements

Let $A$ be a free hyperplane arrangement. In 1989, Ziegler showed that the restriction $A''$ of $A$ to any hyperplane endowed with the natural multiplicity is then a free multiarrangement. We initiate a study of the stronger freeness property of inductive freeness for these canonical free multiarrangements and investigate them for the underlying class of reflection arrangements.
More precisely, let $A = A(W)$ be the reflection arrangement of a complex reflection group $W$. By work of Terao, each such reflection arrangement is free. Thus so is Ziegler's canonical multiplicity on the restriction $A''$ of $A$ to a hyperplane. We show that the latter is inductively free as a multiarrangement if and only if $A''$ itself is inductively free.
Invariant derivations and differential forms for reflection groups

Classical invariant theory of a complex reflection group $W$ highlights three beautiful structures:
-- the $W$-invariant polynomials constitute a polynomial algebra, over which
-- the $W$-invariant differential forms with polynomial coefficients constitute an exterior algebra, and
-- the relative invariants of any $W$-representation constitute a free module.
When $W$ is a duality (or well-generated) group, we give an explicit description of the isotypic component within the differential forms of the irreducible reflection representation. This resolves a conjecture of Armstrong, Rhoades and the first author, and relates to Lie-theoretic conjectures and results of Bazlov, Broer, Joseph, Reeder, and Stembridge, and also Deconcini, Papi, and Procesi. We establish this result by examining the space of $W$-invariant differential derivations; these are derivations whose coefficients are not just polynomials, but differential forms with polynomial coefficients.
For every complex reflection group $W$, we show that the space of invariant differential derivations is finitely generated as a module over the invariant differential forms by the basic derivations together with their exterior derivatives. When $W$ is a duality group, we show that the space of invariant differential derivations is free as a module over the exterior subalgebra of $W$-invariant forms generated by all but the top-degree exterior generator. (The basic invariant of highest degree is omitted.)
Our arguments for duality groups are case-free, i.e., they do not rely on any reflection group classification.

A line arrangement of $3n$ lines in $\mathbb CP^2$ satisfies Hirzebruch property if each line intersect others in $n+1$ points. Hirzebruch asked if all such arrangements are related to finite complex reflection groups. We give a positive answer to this question in the case when the line arrangement in $\mathbb CP^2$ is real, confirming that there exist exactly four such arrangements.

We define and study generalized nil-Coxeter algebras associated to Coxeter groups. Motivated by a question of Coxeter (1957), we construct the first examples of such finite-dimensional algebras that are not the 'usual' nil-Coxeter algebras: a novel 2-parameter type $A$ family that we call $NC_A(n,d)$. We explore several combinatorial properties of $NC_A(n,d)$, including its Coxeter word basis, length function, and Hilbert-Poincare series, and show that the corresponding generalized Coxeter group is not a flat deformation of $NC_A(n,d)$. These algebras yield symmetric semigroup module categories that are necessarily not monoidal; we write down their Tannaka-Krein duality.
Further motivated by the Broue-Malle-Rouquier (BMR) freeness conjecture [J. reine angew. math. 1998], we define generalized nil-Coxeter algebras over all discrete real or complex reflection groups $W$, finite or infinite. We provide a complete classification of all such algebras that are finite-dimensional. Remarkably, these turn out to be either the usual nil-Coxeter algebras, or the algebras $NC_A(n,d)$. This proves as a special case - and strengthens - the lack of equidimensional nil-Coxeter analogues for finite complex reflection groups. In particular, generic Hecke algebras are not flat deformations of $NC_W$ for $W$ complex.

Let $\mathcal{A} = \mathcal{A}(W)$ be the reflection arrangement of the finite complex reflection group $W$. By Terao's famous theorem, the arrangement $\mathcal{A}$ is free. In this paper we classify all reflection arrangements which belong to the smaller class of recursively free arrangements. Moreover for the case that $W$ admits an irreducible factor isomorphic to $G_{31}$ we obtain a new (computer free) proof for the non-inductive freeness of $\mathcal{A}(W)$. Since our classification implies the non-recursive freeness of the reflection arrangement $\mathcal{A}(G_{31})$, we can prove a conjecture by Abe about the new class of divisionally free arrangements which he recently introduced.

We prove that the noncrossing partition lattices associated with the complex reflection groups $G(d,d,n)$ for $d,n\geq 2$ admit symmetric decompositions into Boolean subposets. As a result, these lattices have the strong Sperner property and their rank-generating polynomials are symmetric, unimodal, and $γ$-nonnegative. We use computer computations to complete the proof that every noncrossing partition lattice associated with a well-generated complex reflection group is strongly Sperner, thus answering affirmatively a question raised by D. Armstrong.
On the Existence of Generalized Parking Spaces for Complex Reflection Groups
Let $W$ be an irreducible finite complex reflection group acting on a complex vector space $V$. For a positive integer $k$, we consider a class function $\varphi_k$ given by $\varphi_k(w) = k^{\dim V^w}$ for $w \in W$, where $V^w$ is the fixed-point subspace of $w$. If $W$ is the symmetric group of $n$ letters and $k=n+1$, then $\varphi_{n+1}$ is the permutation character on (classical) parking functions. In this paper, we give a complete answer to the question when $\varphi_k$ (resp. its $q$-analogue) is the character of a representation (resp. the graded character of a graded representation) of $W$. As a key to the proof in the symmetric group case, we find the greatest common divisors of specialized Schur functions. And we propose a unimodality conjecture of the coefficients of certain quotients of principally specialized Schur functions.

Let k be a field, let G be a finite group and let T be a split k-torus on which G acts multiplicatively, and for every m greater than 1 denote by T[m] the m-torsion subgroup of T. Under a suitable assumption on m, we show that the motivic class of the classifying stack of the semi-direct product of T[m] and G in K_0(Stacks_k) is trivial. As a consequence, we prove that the motivic class of BW is trivial for a large class of complex reflection groups W.

In this paper we find some exponential formulas for the Betti numbers of the De Concini-Procesi minimal wonderful models Y_{G(r,p,n)} associated to the complex reflection groups G(r,p,n). Our formulas are different from the ones already known in the literature: they are obtained by a new combinatorial encoding of the elements of a basis of the cohomology by means of set partitions with weights and exponents.
We also point out that a similar combinatorial encoding can be used to describe the faces of the real spherical wonderful models of type A_{n-1}=G(1,1,n), B_n=G(2,1,n) and D_n=G(2,2,n). This provides exponential formulas for the f-vectors of the associated nestohedra: the Stasheff's associahedra (in this case closed formulas are well known) and the graph associahedra of type D_n.
Ramanujan Coverings of Graphs

Let $G$ be a finite connected graph, and let $ρ$ be the spectral radius of its universal cover. For example, if $G$ is $k$-regular then $ρ=2\sqrt{k-1}$. We show that for every $r$, there is an $r$-covering (a.k.a. an $r$-lift) of $G$ where all the new eigenvalues are bounded from above by $ρ$. It follows that a bipartite Ramanujan graph has a Ramanujan $r$-covering for every $r$. This generalizes the $r=2$ case due to Marcus, Spielman and Srivastava (2013).
Every $r$-covering of $G$ corresponds to a labeling of the edges of $G$ by elements of the symmetric group $S_{r}$. We generalize this notion to labeling the edges by elements of various groups and present a broader scenario where Ramanujan coverings are guaranteed to exist.
In particular, this shows the existence of richer families of bipartite Ramanujan graphs than was known before. Inspired by Marcus-Spielman-Srivastava, a crucial component of our proof is the existence of interlacing families of polynomials for complex reflection groups. The core argument of this component is taken from a recent paper of them (2015).
Another important ingredient of our proof is a new generalization of the matching polynomial of a graph. We define the $r$-th matching polynomial of $G$ to be the average matching polynomial of all $r$-coverings of $G$. We show this polynomial shares many properties with the original matching polynomial. For example, it is real rooted with all its roots inside $\left[-ρ,ρ\right]$.

Renteln proved that the eigenvalues of the distance matrix of a Cayley graph of a real reflection group with respect to the set of all reflections are integral and provided a combinatorial formula for some such spectra. We prove the eigenvalues of the distance, adjacency, and codimension matrices of Cayley graphs of complex reflection groups with connection sets consisting of all reflections are integral and provide a combinatorial formula for the codimension spectra for a family of monomial complex reflection groups.

In this note we describe a seemingly new approach to the complex representation theory of the wreath product $G\wr S_d$ where $G$ is a finite abelian group. The approach is motivated by an appropriate version of Schur-Weyl duality. We construct a combinatorially defined groupoid in which all endomorphism algebras are direct products of symmetric groups and prove that the groupoid algebra is isomorphic to the group algebra of $G\wr S_d$. This directly implies a classification of simple modules. As an application, we get a Gelfand model for $G\wr S_d$ from the classical involutive Gelfand model for the symmetric group. We describe the Schur-Weyl duality which motivates our approach and relate it to various Schur-Weyl dualities in the literature. Finally, we discuss an extension of these methods to all complex reflection groups of type $G(\ell,k,d)$.
On Reflection Orders Compatible with a Coxeter Element
In this article we give a simple, almost uniform proof that the lattice of noncrossing partitions associated with a well-generated complex reflection group is lexicographically shellable. So far a uniform proof is available only for Coxeter groups. In particular we show that, for any complex reflection group $W$ and any element $x\in W$, every $x$-compatible reflection order is a recursive atom order of the corresponding interval in absolute order. Since any Coxeter element $γ$ in any well-generated complex reflection group admits a $γ$-compatible reflection order, the lexicographic shellability follows from a well-known result due to Björner and Wachs.

Given an irreducible well-generated complex reflection group W with Coxeter number h, we call a Coxeter element any regular element (in the sense of Springer) of order h in W; this is a slight extension of the most common notion of Coxeter element. We show that the class of these Coxeter elements forms a single orbit in W under the action of reflection automorphisms. For Coxeter and Shephard groups, this implies that an element c is a Coxeter element if and only if there exists a simple system S of reflections such that c is the product of the generators in S. We moreover deduce multiple further implications of this property. In particular, we obtain that all noncrossing partition lattices of W associated to different Coxeter elements are isomorphic. We also prove that there is a simply transitive action of the Galois group of the field of definition of W on the set of conjugacy classes of Coxeter elements. Finally, we extend several of these properties to Springer's regular elements of arbitrary order.

We investigate group coding for arbitrary finite groups acting linearly on a vector space. These yield robust codes based on real or complex matrix groups. We give necessary and sufficient conditions for correct subgroup decoding using geometric notions of minimal length coset representatives. The infinite family of complex reflection groups G(r,1,n) produces effective codes of arbitrarily large size that can be decoded in relatively few steps.

We derive some new signed Mahonian polynomials over the complex reflection group $G(r,1,n)=C_r\wr\mathfrak{S}_n$, where the "sign" is taken to be any of the $2r$ $1$-dim characters and the "Mahonian" statistics are the $\mathsf{lmaj}$ defined by Bagno and the $\mathsf{sor}$ defined by Eu et al. Various new signed Mahonian polynomials over Coxeter groups of types $B_n$ and $D_n$ are derived as well. We also investigate the signed counting polynomials on $G(r,1,n)$ for those statistics with the distribution $[r]_q[2r]_q\cdots [nr]_q$.

In an earlier paper by the last two authros, we classified all inductively free reflection arrangements A(W). The aim of this note is to extend this work by determining all inductively free restrictions of reflection arrangements.
