Decomposability of regular graphs to $4$ locally irregular subgraphs
A locally irregular graph is a graph whose adjacent vertices have distinct degrees. It was conjectured that every connected graph is edge decomposable to $3$ locally irregular subgraphs, unless it belongs to a certain family of exceptions, including graphs of small maximum degrees, which are not decomposable to any number of such subgraphs. Recently Sedlar and Škrekovski exhibited a counterexample to the conjecture, which necessitates a decomposition to (at least) $4$ locally irregular subgraphs. We prove that every $d$-regular graph with $d$ large enough, i.e. $d\geq 54000$, is decomposable to $4$ locally irregular subgraphs. Our proof relies on a mixture of a numerically optimized application of the probabilistic method and certain deterministic results on degree constrained subgraphs due to Addario-Berry, Dalal, McDiarmid, Reed, and Thomason, and to Alon and Wei, introduced in the context of related problems concerning irregular subgraphs.

A cactus graph is a connected graph in which every block is either an edge or a cycle. In this paper, we will examine cactus graphs where all the blocks are $3$-cycles, i.e., triangular cactus graphs, of diameter $4$. Our main focus is to prove that the corresponding edge ring of this family of graphs is not normal and satisfies Serre's condition $(S_2)$. We use a criterion due to Katthän for non-normal affine semigroup rings.
Toughness and Aα-spectral radius in graphs
Let $α\in[0,1)$, and let $G$ be a connected graph of order $n$ with $n\geq f(α)$, where $f(α)=6$ for $α\in[0,\frac{2}{3}]$ and $f(α)=\frac{4}{1-α}$ for $α\in(\frac{2}{3},1)$. A graph $G$ is said to be $t$-tough if $|S|\geq tc(G-S)$ for each subset $S$ of $V(G)$ with $c(G-S)\geq2$, where $c(G-S)$ is the number of connected components in $G-S$. The $A_α$-spectral radius of $G$ is denoted by $ρ_α(G)$. In this paper, it is verified that $G$ is a 1-tough graph unless $G=K_1\vee(K_{n-2}\cup K_1)$ if $ρ_α(G)\geqρ_α(K_1\vee(K_{n-2}\cup K_1))$, where $ρ_α(K_1\vee(K_{n-2}\cup K_1))$ equals the largest root of $x^{3}-((α+1)n+α-3)x^{2}+(αn^{2}+(α^{2}-α-1)n-2α+1)x-α^{2}n^{2}+(3α^{2}-α+1)n-4α^{2}+5α-3=0$. Further, we present an $A_α$-spectral radius condition for a graph to be a $t$-tough graph.

Given an undirected graph $G = (V,E)$, the cut polytope $\mathrm{CUT}(G)$ is defined as the convex hull of the incidence vectors of all cuts in $G$. The 1-skeleton of $\mathrm{CUT}(G)$ is a graph whose vertex set is the vertex set of the polytope, and the edge set is the set of geometric edges or one-dimensional faces of the polytope. We study the diameter and the clique number of 1-skeleton of cut polytopes for several classes of graphs. These characteristics are of interest since they estimate the computational complexity of the max-cut problem for certain computational models and classes of algorithms. It is established that while the diameter of the 1-skeleton of a cut polytope does not exceed $|V|-1$ for any connected graph, the clique number varies significantly depending on the class of graphs. For trees, cacti, and almost trees (2), the clique number is linear in the dimension, whereas for complete bipartite and $k$-partite graphs, it is superpolynomial.

A graph $G$ contains a strong parity factor $F$ if for every subset $X\subseteq V(G)$ with $|X|$ even, $G$ has a spanning subgraph $F$ satisfying $δ(F)\geq1$, $d_F(u)\equiv1$ (mod 2) for any $u\in X$, and $d_F(v)\equiv0$ (mod 2) for any $v\in V(G)\setminus X$. In this paper, we give a spectral radius condition to guarantee that a connected graph contains a strong parity factor.
Removal paths avoiding vertices
In this paper, we show that for any positive integer $m$ and $k\in [2]$, let $G$ be a $(2m+2k+2)$-connected graph and let $a_1,\ldots , a_m, s, t$ be any distinct vertices of $G$, there are $k$ internally disjoint $s$-$t$ paths $P_1, \ldots, P_k$ in $G$ such that $\{a_1,\ldots , a_m\} \cap \bigcup^{k}_{i=1}V (P_i) = \emptyset$ and $G- \bigcup^{k}_{i=1}V (P_i)$ is 2-connected, which generalizes the result by Chen, Gould and Yu [Combinatorica 23 (2003) 185--203], and Kriesell [J. Graph Theory 36 (2001) 52--58]. The case $k=1$ implies that for any $(2m+5)$-connected graph $G$, any edge $e \in E(G)$, and any distinct vertices $a_1,\ldots , a_m$ of $G-V(e)$, there exists a cycle $C$ in $G- \{a_1,\ldots , a_m\}$ such that $e\in E(C)$ and $G- V(C)$ is 2-connected, which improves the bound $10m+11$ of Y. Hong, L. Kang and X. Yu in [J. Graph Theory 80 (2015) 253--267].
Conformally rigid graphs
Given a finite, simple, connected graph $G=(V,E)$ with $|V|=n$, we consider the associated graph Laplacian matrix $L = D - A$ with eigenvalues $0 = λ_1 < λ_2 \leq \dots \leq λ_n$. One can also consider the same graph equipped with positive edge weights $w:E \rightarrow \mathbb{R}_{> 0}$ normalized to $\sum_{e \in E} w_e = |E|$ and the associated weighted Laplacian matrix $L_w$. We say that $G$ is conformally rigid if constant edge-weights maximize the second eigenvalue $λ_2(w)$ of $L_w$ over all $w$, and minimize $λ_n(w')$ of $L_{w'}$ over all $w'$, i.e., for all $w,w'$, $$ λ_2(w) \leq λ_2(1) \leq λ_n(1) \leq λ_n(w').$$ Conformal rigidity requires an extraordinary amount of symmetry in $G$. Every edge-transitive graph is conformally rigid. We prove that every distance-regular graph, and hence every strongly-regular graph, is conformally rigid. Certain special graph embeddings can be used to characterize conformal rigidity. Cayley graphs can be conformally rigid but need not be, we prove a sufficient criterion. We also find a small set of conformally rigid graphs that do not belong into any of the above categories; these include the Hoffman graph, the crossing number graph 6B and others. Conformal rigidity can be certified via semidefinite programming, we provide explicit examples.
Every connected graph admits a local antimagic orientation and almost every graph admits an antimagic orientation
An undirected graph $G$ is said to admit an antimagic orientation if there exist an orientation $D$ and a bijection between $E(G)$ and $\{1,2,\ldots,|E(G)|\}$ such that any two vertices have distinct vertex sums, where the vertex sum of a vertex is the sum of the labels of the in-edges minus that of the out-edges incident to the vertex. It is conjectured by Hefetz, Mütze, and Schwartz that every connected graph admits an antimagic orientation. A weak version of this problem is to require the distinct vertex sums only for the adjacent vertices. In that case, we say the graph admits a local antimagic orientation. Chang, Jing, and Wang~\cite{CJW20} conjectured that every connected graph admits a local antimagic orientation. In this paper, we give an affirmative answer to the conjecture of Chang et al., and show that almost every graph satisfies the conjecture of Hefetz et al.
Monochromatic $k$-connection of graphs
An edge-coloured path is monochromatic if all of its edges have the same colour. For a $k$-connected graph $G$, the monochromatic $k$-connection number of $G$, denoted by $mc_k(G)$, is the maximum number of colours in an edge-colouring of $G$ such that, any two vertices are connected by $k$ internally vertex-disjoint monochromatic paths. In this paper, we shall study the parameter $mc_k(G)$. We obtain bounds for $mc_k(G)$, for general graphs $G$. We also compute $mc_k(G)$ exactly when $k$ is small, and $G$ is a graph on $n$ vertices, with a spanning $k$-connected subgraph having the minimum possible number of edges, namely $\lceil\frac{kn}{2}\rceil$. We prove a similar result when $G$ is a bipartite graph.
Hitting times in the stochastic block model
Given a large connected graph $G=(V,E)$, and two vertices $w,\neq v$, let $T_{w,v}$ be the first hitting time to $v$ starting from $w$ for the simple random walk on $G$. We prove a general theorem that guarantees, under some assumptions on $G$, to approximate $\mathbb E[T_{w,v}]$ up to $o(1)$ terms. As a corollary, we derive explicit formulas for the stochastic block model with two communities and connectivity parameters $p$ and $q$, and show that the average hitting times, for fixed $v$ and as $w$ varies, concentrates around four possible values. The proof is purely probabilistic and uses a coupling argument.
Toward Grünbaum's Conjecture
Given a spanning tree $T$ of a planar graph $G$, the co-tree of $T$ is the spanning tree of the dual graph $G^*$ with edge set $(E(G)-E(T))^*$. Grünbaum conjectured in 1970 that every planar 3-connected graph $G$ contains a spanning tree $T$ such that both $T$ and its co-tree have maximum degree at most 3.
While Grünbaum's conjecture remains open, Biedl proved that there is a spanning tree $T$ such that $T$ and its co-tree have maximum degree at most 5. By using new structural insights into Schnyder woods, we prove that there is a spanning tree $T$ such that $T$ and its co-tree have maximum degree at most 4.
A conjecture implying Thomassen's chord conjecture in graph theory
Thomassen's chord conjecture from 1976 states that every longest cycle in a $3$-connected graph has a chord. This is one of the most important unsolved problems in graph theory. We pose a new conjecture which implies Thomassen's conjecture. It involves bound vertices in a longest path between two vertices in a $k$-connected graph. We also give supporting evidence and analyze a special case. The purpose of making this new conjecture is to explore the surroundings of Thomassen's conjecture.
On the $D_α$ spectral radius of non-transmission regular graphs
Let $G$ be a connected graph with order $n$ and size $m$. Let $D(G)$ and $Tr(G)$ be the distance matrix and diagonal matrix with vertex transmissions of $G$, respectively. For any real $α\in[0,1]$, the generalized distance matrix $D_α(G)$ of $G$ is defined as $$D_α(G)=αTr(G)+(1-α)D(G).$$ The largest eigenvalue of $D_α(G)$ is called the $D_α$ spectral radius or generalized distance spectral radius of $G$, denoted by $μ_α(G)$. In this paper, we establish a lower bound on the difference between the maximum vertex transmission and the $D_α$ spectral radius of non-transmission regular graphs, and we also characterize the extremal graphs attaining the bound.
Trees and co-trees in planar 3-connected graphs An easier proof via Schnyder woods
Let $G$ be a 3-connected planar graph. Define the co-tree of a spanning tree $T$ of $G$ as the graph induced by the dual edges of $E(G)-E(T)$. The well-known cut-cycle duality implies that the co-tree is itself a tree. Let a $k$-tree be a spanning tree with maximum degree $k$. In 1970, Grünbaum conjectured that every 3-connected planar graph contains a 3-tree whose co-tree is also a 3-tree. In 2014, Biedl showed that every such graph contains a 5-tree whose co-tree is a 5-tree. In this paper, we present an easier proof of Biedl's result
Classification and Construction of Planar, 3-Connected Kronecker Products
We give a complete classification of the Kronecker (i.e. direct) product graphs that are planar and $3$-connected (i.e. $3$-polytopal). They are all of the form \[H\wedge K_2,\] where $H$ is a $2$-connected graph, possibly non-planar, and satisfying specific properties that we will describe.
Our proof is constructive, in the sense that we prescribe how to obtain all such graphs $H$, by adding a few edges in a specific way to a given planar, bipartite graph, that is either $3$-connected, or semi-hyper-$2$-connected.
Moreover, for $H$ planar, we also give a more precise characterisation of this graph, regarding the number of its odd regions, and how they intersect.
If $H\wedge K_2$ is a $3$-polytope, then we have $δ(H\wedge K_2)=3$, so that the connectivity of $H\wedge K_2$ is $3$, and the connectivity of $H$ is either $2$ or $3$.
We also briefly discuss which Cartesian and strong products are $3$-polytopal.
A characterization of extremal non-transmission-regular graphs by the distance (signless Laplacian) spectral radius
Let $G$ be a simple connected graph of order $n$ and $\partial(G)$ is the spectral radius of the distance matrix $D(G)$ of $G$. The transmission $D_i$ of vertex $i$ is the $i$-th row sum of $D(G)$. Denote by $D_{\max}(G)$ the maximum of transmissions over all vertices of $G$, and $\partial^Q(G)$ is the spectral radius of the distance signless Laplacian matrix $D(G)+\mbox{diag}(D_1,D_2,\ldots,D_n)$. In this paper, we present a sharp lower bound of $2D_{\max}(G)-\partial^Q(G)$ among all $n$-vertex connected graphs, and characterize the extremal graphs. Furthermore, we give the minimum values of respective $D_{\max}(G)-\partial(G)$ and $2D_{\max}(G)-\partial^Q(G)$ on trees and characterize the extremal trees.
Multi-linear forms, structure of graphs and Lebesgue spaces
Consider the operator $$T_Kf(x)=\int_{{\mathbb R}^d} K(x,y) f(y) dy,$$ where $K$ is a locally integrable function or a measure. The purpose of this paper is to study the multi-linear form $$ Λ^K_G(f_1, \dots, f_n)=\int \dots \int \prod_{ \{(i,j): 1 \leq i<j \leq n; E(i,j)=1 \} } K(x^i,x^j) \prod_{i=1}^n f_i(x^i) dx^i, $$ where $G$ is a connected graph on $n$ vertices, $E$ is the edge map on $G$, i.e $E(i,j)=1$ if and only if the $i$'th and $j$'th vertices are connected by an edge, $K$ is the aforementioned kernel, and $f_i: {\mathbb R}^d \to {\mathbb R}$, measurable.
This paper establishes multi-linear inequalities of the form $$ Λ^K_G(f_1,f_2, \dots,f_n) \leq C {||f_1||}_{L^{p_1}({\mathbb R}^d)} {||f_2||}_{L^{p_2}({\mathbb R}^d)} \dots {||f_n||}_{L^{p_n}({\mathbb R}^d)}$$ and determines how the exponents depend on the structure of the kernel $K$ and the graph $G$.
The Restricted Edge-Connectivity of Strong Product Graphs
The restricted edge-connectivity of a connected graph $G$, denoted by $λ^{\prime}(G)$, if it exists, is the minimum cardinality of a set of edges whose deletion makes $G$ disconnected and each component with at least 2 vertices. It was proved that if $G$ is not a star and $|V(G)|\geq4$, then $λ^{\prime}(G)$ exists and $λ^{\prime}(G)\leqξ(G)$, where $ξ(G)$ is the minimum edge-degree of $G$. Thus a graph $G$ is called maximally restricted edge-connected if $λ^{\prime}(G)=ξ(G)$; and a graph $G$ is called super restricted edge-connected if each minimum restricted edge-cut isolates an edge of $G$. The strong product of graphs $G$ and $H$, denoted by $G\boxtimes H$, is the graph with vertex set $V(G)\times V(H)$ and edge set $\{(x_1,y_1)(x_2,y_2)\ |\ x_1=x_2$ and $y_1y_2\in E(H)$; or $y_1=y_2$ and $x_1x_2\in E(G)$; or $x_1x_2\in E(G)$ and $y_1y_2\in E(H)$\}. In this paper, we determine, for any nontrivial connected graph $G$, the restricted edge-connectivity of $G\boxtimes P_n$, $G\boxtimes C_n$ and $G\boxtimes K_n$, where $P_n$, $C_n$ and $K_n$ are the path, the cycle and the complete graph on $n$ vertices, respectively. As corollaries, we give sufficient conditions for these strong product graphs $G\boxtimes P_n$, $G\boxtimes C_n$ and $G\boxtimes K_n$ to be maximally restricted edge-connected and super restricted edge-connected.
Two Laplacians for the resistance distance matrix of a graph
In this paper, we present two new matrices, namely the resistance Laplacian and resistance signless Laplacian matrix of a connected graph. We provide a generalized form of these matrices for different classes of graphs, including the complete graph, complete bipartite graph, and cycle. We investigate the spectral properties of these matrices, analyzing their eigenvalues and eigenvectors. Moreover, we introduce a concept similar to graph energy and define it as the resistance Laplacian energy of a graph and further discuss some bounds for this energy.
On $2$-integral Cayley graphs
In this paper, we introduce the concept of $k$-integral graphs. A graph $Γ$ is called $k$-integral if the extension degree of the splitting field of the characteristic polynomial of $Γ$ over rational field $\mathbb Q$ is equal to $k$. We prove that the set of all finite connected graphs with given algebraic degree and maximum degree is finite. $1$-integral graphs are just integral ones, graphs all of whose eigenvalues are integer. We study
$2$-integral Cayley graphs over finite groups $G$ with respect to Cayley sets which are a union of conjugacy classes of $G$. Among other general results, we completely characterize all finite abelian groups having a connected $2$-integral Cayley graph with valency $2,3,4$ and $5$.
Furthermore, we classify finite groups $G$ for which all Cayley graphs over $G$ with bounded valency are $2$-integral.
