We study the relationship between two sets of coordinates on a double Bruhat cell, the cluster variables introduced by Berenstein, Fomin, and Zelevinsky and the $\CX$-coordinates defined by the coweight parametrization of Fock and Goncharov. In these coordinates, we show that the generalized Chamber Ansatz of Fomin and Zelevinsky is a nondegenerate version of the canonical monomial transformation between the cluster variables and $\CX$-coordinates defined by a common exchange matrix. We prove this in the setting of an arbitrary symmetrizable Kac-Moody group, generalizing along the way many previous results on the double Bruhat cells of a semisimple algebraic group. In particular, we construct an upper cluster algebra structure on the coordinate ring of any double Bruhat cell in a symmetrizable Kac-Moody group, proving a conjecture of Berenstein, Fomin, and Zelevinsky.
Universal geometric cluster algebras

We consider, for each exchange matrix B, a category of geometric cluster algebras over B and coefficient specializations between the cluster algebras. The category also depends on an underlying ring R, usually the integers, rationals, or reals. We broaden the definition of geometric cluster algebras slightly over the usual definition and adjust the definition of coefficient specializations accordingly. If the broader category admits a universal object, the universal object is called the cluster algebra over B with universal geometric coefficients, or the universal geometric cluster algebra over B. Constructing universal coefficients is equivalent to finding an R-basis for B (a "mutation-linear" analog of the usual linear-algebraic notion of a basis). Polyhedral geometry plays a key role, through the mutation fan F_B, which we suspect to be an important object beyond its role in constructing universal geometric coefficients. We make the connection between F_B and g-vectors. We construct universal geometric coefficients in rank 2 and in finite type and discuss the construction in affine type.

A universal geometric cluster algebra over an exchange matrix B is a universal object in the category of geometric cluster algebras over B related by coefficient specializations. (Following an earlier paper on universal geometric cluster algebras, we broaden the definition of geometric cluster algebras relative to the definition originally given Fomin and Zelevinsky.) The universal objects are closely related to a fan F_B called the mutation fan for B. In this paper, we consider universal geometric cluster algebras and mutation fans for cluster algebras arising from marked surfaces. We identify two crucial properties of marked surfaces: The Curve Separation Property and the Null Tangle Property. The latter property implies the former. We prove the Curve Separation Property for all marked surfaces except once-punctured surfaces without boundary components, and as a result we obtain a construction of the rational part of F_B for these surfaces. We prove the Null Tangle Property for a smaller family of surfaces, and use it to construct universal geometric coefficients for these surfaces.

Some skew-symmetrizable integer exchange matrices are associated to ideal (tagged) triangulations of marked bordered surfaces. These exchange matrices admits unfoldings to skew-symmetric matrices. We develop an combinatorial algorithm that determines if a given skew-symmetrizable matrix is of such type. This algorithm generalizes the one in \cite{WG}. As a corollary, we use this algorithm to determine if a given skew-symmetrizable matrix has finite mutation type.

In this paper, we show that, for skew-symmetric cluster algebras, the c-vectors of any seed with respect to an acyclic initial seed define a quasi-Cartan companion of the corresponding exchange matrix. As an application, we show that any cluster tilted quiver has an admissible cut of edges.
Graphs with Non-unique Decomposition and Their Associated Surfaces
The ideal (tagged resp.) triangulation of bounded surface with marked points are associated with skew-symmetric (skew-symmetrizable) exchange matrices. An algo- rithm is established to decompose the graph associated to such matrix. There are finite many graph with non-unique decomposition. We find all such graphs and their decompositions. In addition, we also find the associated ideal (tagged) triangulations to different decompositions.

We generalize the brick polytope of V. Pilaud and F. Santos to spherical subword complexes for finite Coxeter groups. This construction provides polytopal realizations for a certain class of subword complexes containing all cluster complexes of finite types. For the latter, the brick polytopes turn out to coincide with the known realizations of generalized associahedra, thus opening new perspectives on these constructions. This new approach yields in particular the vertex description of generalized associahedra, a Minkowski sum decomposition into Coxeter matroid polytopes, and a combinatorial description of the exchange matrix of any cluster in a finite type cluster algebra.
Combinatorial frameworks for cluster algebras

We develop a general approach to finding combinatorial models for cluster algebras. The approach is to construct a labeled graph called a framework. When a framework is constructed with certain properties, the result is a model incorporating information about exchange matrices, principal coefficients, g-vectors, and g-vector fans. The idea behind frameworks arises from Cambrian combinatorics and sortable elements, and in this paper, we use sortable elements to construct a framework for any cluster algebra with an acyclic initial exchange matrix. This Cambrian framework yields a model of the entire exchange graph when the cluster algebra is of finite type. Outside of finite type, the Cambrian framework models only part of the exchange graph. In a forthcoming paper, we extend the Cambrian construction to produce a complete framework for a cluster algebra whose associated Cartan matrix is of affine type.

We construct two bases for each cluster algebra coming from a triangulated surface without punctures. We work in the context of a coefficient system coming from a full-rank exchange matrix, for example, principal coefficients.
Quantum F-polynomials in Classical Types
In their "Cluster Algebras IV" paper, Fomin and Zelevinsky defined F-polynomials and g-vectors, and they showed that the cluster variables in any cluster algebra can be expressed in a formula involving the appropriate F-polynomial and g-vector. In "F-polynomials in Quantum Cluster Algebras," the predecessor to this paper, we defined and proved the existence of quantum F-polynomials, which are analogs of F-polynomials in quantum cluster algebras in the sense that cluster variables in any quantum cluster algebra can be expressed in a similar formula in terms of quantum F-polynomials and g-vectors. In this paper, we give formulas for both F-polynomials and quantum F-polynomials for cluster algebras of classical type when the initial exchange matrix is acyclic.

In 2003, Fomin and Zelevinsky obtained Cartan-Killing type classification of all cluster algebras of finite type, i.e. cluster algebras having only finitely many distinct cluster variables. A wider class of cluster algebras is formed by cluster algebras of finite mutation type which have finitely many exchange matrices (but are allowed to have infinitely many cluster variables). In this paper we classify all cluster algebras of finite mutation type with skew-symmetric exchange matrices. Besides cluster algebras of rank 2 and cluster algebras associated with triangulations of surfaces there are exactly 11 exceptional skew-symmetric cluster algebras of finite mutation type. More precisely, 9 of them are associated with root systems $E_6$, $E_7$, $E_8$, $\widetilde E_6$, $\widetilde E_7$, $\widetilde E_8$, $E_6^{(1,1)}$, $E_7^{(1,1)}$, $E_8^{(1,1)}$; two remaining were recently found by Derksen and Owen. We also describe a criterion which determines if a skew-symmetric cluster algebra is of finite mutation type, and discuss growth rate of cluster algebras.

We prove a conjecture about the vertices and edges of the exchange graph of a cluster algebra $\A$ in two cases: when $\A$ is of geometric type and when $\A$ is arbitrary and its exchange matrix is nondegenerate. In the second case we also prove that the exchange graph does not depend on the coefficients of $\A$. Both conjectures were formulated recently by Fomin and Zelevinsky.

We consider square matrices A that commute with a fixed square matrix K, both with entries in a field F not of characteristic 2. When K^2=I, Tao and Yasuda defined A to be generalized centrosymmetric with respect to K. When K^2=-I, we define A to be pseudo-centrosymmetric with respect to K; we show that the determinant of every even-order pseudo-centrosymmetric matrix is the sum of two squares over F, as long as -1 is not a square in F. When a pseudo-centrosymmetric matrix A contains only integral entries and is pseudo-centrosymmetric with respect to a matrix with rational entries, the determinant of A is the sum of two integral squares. This result, when specialized to when K is the even-order alternating exchange matrix, applies to enumerative combinatorics. Using solely matrix-based methods, we reprove a weak form of Jockusch's theorem for enumerating perfect matchings of 2-even symmetric graphs. As a corollary, we reprove that the number of domino tilings of regions known as Aztec diamonds and Aztec pillows is a sum of two integral squares.

We study the dependence of a cluster algebra on the choice of coefficients. We write general formulas expressing the cluster variables in any cluster algebra in terms of the initial data; these formulas involve a family of polynomials associated with a particular choice of "principal" coefficients.
We show that the exchange graph of a cluster algebra with principal coefficients covers the exchange graph of any cluster algebra with the same exchange matrix.
We investigate two families of parametrizations of cluster monomials by lattice points, determined, respectively, by the denominators of their Laurent expansions and by certain multi-gradings in cluster algebras with principal coefficients. The properties of these parametrizations, some proven and some conjectural, suggest links to duality conjectures of V.Fock and A.Goncharov [math.AG/0311245].
The coefficient dynamics leads to a natural generalization of Al.Zamolodchikov's Y-systems. We establish a Laurent phenomenon for such Y-systems, previously known in finite type only, and sharpen the periodicity result from [hep-th/0111053].
For cluster algebras of finite type, we identify a canonical "universal" choice of coefficients such that an arbitrary cluster algebra can be obtained from the universal one (of the same type) by an appropriate specialization of coefficients.
