For each integer partition $\mathbf{q}$ with $d$ parts, we denote by $Δ_{(1,\mathbf{q})}$ the lattice simplex obtained as the convex hull in $\mathbb{R}^d$ of the standard basis vectors along with the vector $-\mathbf{q}$. For $\mathbf{q}$ with two distinct parts such that $Δ_{(1,\mathbf{q})}$ is reflexive and has the integer decomposition property, we establish a characterization of the lattice points contained in $Δ_{(1,\mathbf{q})}$. We then construct a Gröbner basis with a squarefree initial ideal of the toric ideal defined by these simplices. This establishes the existence of a regular unimodular triangulation for reflexive 2-supported $Δ_{(1,\mathbf{q})}$ having the integer decomposition property.

Given a family of lattice polytopes, two common questions in Ehrhart Theory are determining when a polytope has the integer decomposition property and determining when a polytope is reflexive. While these properties are of independent interest, the confluence of these properties is a source of active investigation due to conjectures regarding the unimodality of the $h^\ast$-polynomial. In this paper, we consider the Newton polytopes arising from two families of polynomials in algebraic combinatorics: Schur polynomials and inflated symmetric Grothendieck polynomials. In both cases, we prove that these polytopes have the integer decomposition property by using the fact that both families of polynomials have saturated Newton polytope. Furthermore, in both cases, we provide a complete characterization of when these polytopes are reflexive. We conclude with some explicit formulas and unimodality implications of the $h^\ast$-vector in the case of Schur polynomials.

An equitable partition into branchings in a digraph is a partition of the arc set into branchings such that the sizes of any two branchings differ at most by one. For a digraph whose arc set can be partitioned into $k$ branchings, there always exists an equitable partition into $k$ branchings. In this paper, we present two extensions of equitable partitions into branchings in digraphs: those into matching forests in mixed graphs; and into $b$-branchings in digraphs. For matching forests, Király and Yokoi (2022) considered a tricriteria equitability based on the sizes of the matching forest, and the matching and branching therein. In contrast to this, we introduce a single-criterion equitability based on the number of covered vertices, which is plausible in the light of the delta-matroid structure of matching forests. While the existence of this equitable partition can be derived from a lemma in Király and Yokoi, we present its direct and simpler proof. For $b$-branchings, we define an equitability notion based on the size of the $b$-branching and the indegrees of all vertices, and prove that an equitable partition always exists. We then derive the integer decomposition property of the associated polytopes.
Some Algebraic Properties of Lecture Hall Polytopes
In this note, we investigate some of the fundamental algebraic and geometric properties of $s$-lecture hall simplices and their generalizations. We show that all $s$-lecture hall order polytopes, which simultaneously generalize $s$-lecture hall simplices and order polytopes, satisfy a property which implies the integer decomposition property. This answers one conjecture of Hibi, Olsen and Tsuchiya. By relating $s$-lecture hall polytopes to alcoved polytopes, we then use this property to show that families of $s$-lecture hall simplices admit a quadratic Gröbner basis with a square-free initial ideal. Consequently, we find that all $s$-lecture hall simplices for which the first order difference sequence of $s$ is a $0,1$-sequence have a regular and unimodular triangulation. This answers a second conjecture of Hibi, Olsen and Tsuchiya, and it gives a partial answer to a conjecture of Beck, Braun, Köppe, Savage and Zafeirakopoulos.

In this paper, we discuss the toric ideals of Minkowski sums of unit simplices. More precisely, we prove that the toric ideal of Minkowski sum of unit simplices has a squarefree initial ideal and is generated by quadratic binomials. Moreover, we also prove that Minkowski sums of unit simplices have the integer decomposition property. Those results are a partial contribution to Oda conjecture and Bøgvad conjecture.

In this paper we investigate the ability of a neural network to approximate algebraic properties associated to lattice simplices. In particular we attempt to predict the distribution of Hilbert basis elements in the fundamental parallelepiped, from which we detect the integer decomposition property (IDP). We give a gentle introduction to neural networks and discuss the results of this prediction method when scanning very large test sets for examples of IDP simplices.

Lattice polytopes which possess the integer decomposition property (IDP for short) turn up in many fields of mathematics. It is known that if the Cayley sum of lattice polytopes possesses IDP, then so does their Minkowski sum. In this paper, the Cayley sum of the order polytope of a finite poset and the stable set polytope of a finite simple graph is studied. We show that the Cayley sum of an order polytope and the stable set polytope of a perfect graph possesses a regular unimodular triangulation and IDP, and hence so does their Minkowski sum. Moreover, it turns out that, for an order polytope and the stable set polytope of a graph, the following conditions are equivalent: (i) the Cayley sum is Gorenstein; (ii) the Minkowski sum is Gorenstein; (iii) the graph is perfect.

In this paper, we discuss the integer decomposition property for Cayley sums and Minkowski sums of lattice polytopes. In fact, we characterize when Cayley sums have the integer decomposition property in terms of Minkowski sums. Moreover, by using this characterization, we consider when Cayley sums and Minkowski sums of $2$-convex-normal lattice polytopes have the integer decomposition property. Finally, we also discuss the level property for Minkowski sums and Cayley sums.
The $b$-branching problem in digraphs
In this paper, we introduce the concept of $b$-branchings in digraphs, which is a generalization of branchings serving as a counterpart of $b$-matchings. Here $b$ is a positive integer vector on the vertex set of a digraph, and a $b$-branching is defined as a common independent set of two matroids defined by $b$: an arc set is a $b$-branching if it has at most $b(v)$ arcs sharing the terminal vertex $v$, and it is an independent set of a certain sparsity matroid defined by $b$. We demonstrate that $b$-branchings yield an appropriate generalization of branchings by extending several classical results on branchings. We first present a multi-phase greedy algorithm for finding a maximum-weight $b$-branching. We then prove a packing theorem extending Edmonds' disjoint branchings theorem, and provide a strongly polynomial algorithm for finding optimal disjoint $b$-branchings. As a consequence of the packing theorem, we prove the integer decomposition property of the $b$-branching polytope. Finally, we deal with a further generalization in which a matroid constraint is imposed on the $b(v)$ arcs sharing the terminal vertex $v$.

In 1997 Oda conjectured that every smooth lattice polytope has the integer decomposition property. We prove Oda's conjecture for centrally symmetric $3$-dimensional polytopes, by showing they are covered by lattice parallelepipeds and unimodular simplices.

We associate to a finite digraph $D$ a lattice polytope $P_D$ whose vertices are the rows of the Laplacian matrix of $D$. This generalizes a construction introduced by Braun and the third author. As a consequence of the Matrix-Tree Theorem, we show that the normalized volume of $P_D$ equals the complexity of $D$, and $P_D$ contains the origin in its relative interior if and only if $D$ is strongly connected. Interesting connections with other families of simplices are established and then used to describe reflexivity, $h^*$-polynomial, and integer decomposition property of $P_D$ in these cases. We extend Braun and Meyer's study of cycles by considering cycle digraphs. In this setting we characterize reflexivity and show there are only four non-trivial reflexive Laplacian simplices having the integer decomposition property.

This paper initiates the study of the "Laplacian simplex" $T_G$ obtained from a finite graph $G$ by taking the convex hull of the columns of the Laplacian matrix for $G$. Basic properties of these simplices are established, and then a systematic investigation of $T_G$ for trees, cycles, and complete graphs is provided. Motivated by a conjecture of Hibi and Ohsugi, our investigation focuses on reflexivity, the integer decomposition property, and unimodality of Ehrhart $h^*$-vectors. We prove that if $G$ is a tree, odd cycle, complete graph, or a whiskering of an even cycle, then $T_G$ is reflexive. We show that while $T_{K_n}$ has the integer decomposition property, $T_{C_n}$ for odd cycles does not. The Ehrhart $h^*$-vectors of $T_G$ for trees, odd cycles, and complete graphs are shown to be unimodal. As a special case it is shown that when $n$ is an odd prime, the Ehrhart $h^*$-vector of $T_{C_n}$ is given by $(h_0^*,\ldots,h_{n-1}^*)=(1,\ldots,1,n^2-n+1,1,\ldots, 1)$. We also provide a combinatorial interpretation of the Ehrhart $h^*$-vector for $T_{K_n}$.

Reflexive polytopes which have the integer decomposition property are of interest. Recently, some large classes of reflexive polytopes with integer decomposition property coming from the order polytopes and the chain polytopes of finite partially ordered sets are known. In the present paper, we will generalize this result. In fact, by virtue of the algebraic technique on Gröbner bases, new classes of reflexive polytopes with the integer decomposition property coming from the order polytopes of finite partially ordered sets and the stable set polytopes of perfect graphs will be introduced. Furthermore, the result will give a polyhedral characterization of perfect graphs. Finally, we will investigate the Ehrhart $δ$-polynomials of these reflexive polytopes.

Though much is known about ${\bf s}$-lecture hall polytopes, there are still many unanswered questions. In this paper, we show that ${\bf s}$-lecture hall polytopes satisfy the integer decomposition property (IDP) in the case of monotonic ${\bf s}$-sequences. Given restrictions on a monotonic ${\bf s}$-sequence, we discuss necessary and sufficient conditions for the Fano, reflexive and Gorenstein properties. Additionally, we give a construction for producing Gorenstein/IDP lecture hall polytopes.

A long-standing open conjecture in combinatorics asserts that a Gorenstein lattice polytope with the integer decomposition property (IDP) has a unimodal (Ehrhart) $h^\ast$-polynomial. This conjecture can be viewed as a strengthening of a previously disproved conjecture which stated that any Gorenstein lattice polytope has a unimodal $h^\ast$-polynomial. The first counterexamples to unimodality for Gorenstein lattice polytopes were given in even dimensions greater than five by Musta{ţ}{ǎ} and Payne, and this was extended to all dimensions greater than five by Payne. While there exist numerous examples in support of the conjecture that IDP reflexives are $h^\ast$-unimodal, its validity has not yet been considered for families of reflexive lattice simplices that closely generalize Payne's counterexamples. The main purpose of this work is to prove that the former conjecture does indeed hold for a natural generalization of Payne's examples. The second purpose of this work is to extend this investigation to a broader class of lattice simplices, for which we present new results and open problems.

Let $(P,\leq_P)$ and $(Q,\leq_Q)$ be finite partially ordered sets with $|P|=|Q|=d$, and $\mathcal{C}(P) \subset \mathbb{R}^d$ and $\mathcal{C}(Q) \subset \mathbb{R}^d$ their chain polytopes. The twinned chain polytope of $P$ and $Q$ is the lattice polytope $Γ(\mathcal{C}(P),\mathcal{C}(Q)) \subset \mathbb{R}^d$ which is the convex hull of $\mathcal{C}(P) \cup (-\mathcal{C}(Q))$. It is known that twinned chain polytopes are Gorenstein Fano polytopes with the integer decomposition property. In the present paper, we study combinatorial properties of twinned chain polytopes. First, we will give the formula of the volume of twinned chain polytopes in terms of the underlying partially ordered sets. Second, we will identify the facet-supporting hyperplanes of twinned chain polytopes in terms of the underlying partially ordered sets. Finally, we will provide the vertex representations of the dual polytopes of twinned chain polytopes.

In 2012 Gubeladze (Adv.\ Math.\ 2012) introduced the notion of k-convex-normal polytopes to show that integral polytopes all of whose edges are longer than 4d(d+1) have the integer decomposition property. In the first part of this paper we show that for lattice polytopes there is no difference between k- and (k+1)-convex-normality (for k >= 3) and improve the bound to 2d(d+1). In the second part we extend the definition to pairs of polytopes and show that for rational polytopes P and Q, where the normal fan of P is a refinement of the normal fan of Q, if every edge e_P of P is at least d times as long as the corresponding edge e_Q of Q, then (P+Q) \cap \Z^d = (P\cap \Z^d) + (Q \cap \Z^d).
Integer round-up property for the chromatic number of some h-perfect graphs

A graph is h-perfect if its stable set polytope can be completely described by non-negativity, clique and odd-hole constraints. It is t-perfect if it furthermore has no clique of size 4. For every graph $G$ and every $c\in\mathbb{Z}_{+}^{V(G)}$, the weighted chromatic number of $(G,c)$ is the minimum cardinality of a multi-set $\mathcal{F}$ of stable sets of $G$ such that every $v\in V(G)$ belongs to at least $c_v$ members of $\mathcal{F}$.
We prove that every h-perfect line-graph and every t-perfect claw-free graph $G$ has the integer round-up property for the chromatic number: for every non-negative integer weight $c$ on the vertices of $G$, the weighted chromatic number of $(G,c)$ can be obtained by rounding up its fractional relaxation. In other words, the stable set polytope of $G$ has the integer decomposition property.
Our results imply the existence of a polynomial-time algorithm which computes the weighted chromatic number of t-perfect claw-free graphs and h-perfect line-graphs. Finally, they yield a new case of a conjecture of Goldberg and Seymour on edge-colorings.

Let $P$ be the Gelfand--Tsetlin polytope defined by the skew shape $λ/μ$ and weight $w$. In the case corresponding to a standard Young tableau, we completely characterize for which shapes $λ/μ$ the polytope $P$ is integral. Furthermore, we show that $P$ is a compressed polytope whenever it is integral and corresponds to a standard Young tableau. We conjecture that a similar property hold for arbitrary $w$, namely that $P$ has the integer decomposition property whenever it is integral.
Finally, a natural partial ordering on GT-polytopes is introduced that provides information about integrality and the integer decomposition property, which implies the conjecture for certain shapes.
