Note on the trace of random walks on pseudorandom graphs
We study the graph-theoretic properties of the trace of random walks on pseudorandom graphs. We show that for any $\varepsilon>0$, there exists a constant $C$ such that the cover time of an $(n,d,λ)$-graph $G$ with $d/λ\ge C$ is at most $(1+\varepsilon)n\log n$, meaning the expected number of steps needed to reach all vertices at least once is at most $(1+\varepsilon)n\log n$ regardless of the starting vertex. Furthermore, we prove that with high probability, the trace of a random walk of length $(1+\varepsilon)n\log n$ on $G$ is Hamiltonian, regardless of the starting vertex. These results also hold for random $d$-regular graphs with sufficiently large $d$. These findings answer two questions proposed by Frieze, Krivelevich, Michaeli, and Peled [PLMS, 2018]. Notably, our results imply a bound on a stronger version of the cover time: with high probability, all vertices are covered after $(1+\varepsilon)n\log n$ steps, regardless of the starting vertex. Our proofs rely on the spectral properties of the adjacency matrix and the graph expansion. All results are asymptotically optimal.

Laplacian Pair State Transfer on Total Graphs
The total graph of a graph $G$, denoted $\mathcal{T}(G)$, is defined as the graph whose vertex set is the union of the vertex set of $G$ and the edge set of $G$ such that two vertices of $\mathcal{T}(G)$ are adjacent if the corresponding elements of $G$ are adjacent or incident. In this paper, we investigate Laplacian perfect pair state transfer and Laplacian pretty good pair state transfer on $\mathcal{T}(G)$, where $G$ is an $r$-regular graph. We prove that if $r>2$ and $r+1$ is not a Laplacian eigenvalue of $G$, then $\mathcal{T}(G)$ fails to exhibit Laplacian perfect pair state transfer. We also prove that if $G$ is a complete graph on more than three vertices, then $\mathcal{T}(G)$ fails to exhibit Laplacian perfect pair state transfer. Further, we prove that under some mild conditions, $\mathcal{T}(G)$ exhibits Laplacian pretty good pair state transfer, where $G$ is an $r$-regular graph such that $r>2$ and $r+1$ is not a Laplacian eigenvalue of $G$. We use these conditions to obtain infinitely many total graphs exhibiting Laplacian pretty good pair state transfer.

Universal 3-Edge-Weightability of Regular Graphs
A graph $G=(V,E)$ is universally $3$-edge-weightable if for every set $\{a,b,c\}$ of three distinct real numbers, there exists an edge-weighting $w:E\to\{a,b,c\}$ such that $d_w(u)\neq d_w(v)$ for all $uv\in E$. The 1-2-3 Conjecture, recently settled by Keusch, ensures that all nice graphs admit a proper $\{1,2,3\}$-edge-weighting. For regular graphs, this implies proper edge-weightings for arithmetic progressions $\{a,b,c\}$ via affine transformation, but not for general triples due to the spacing-ratio preservation property of affine maps. We prove that every $k$-regular graph with $k\ge 2$ is universally $3$-edge-weightable. This establishes proper edge-weightings for all triples $\{a,b,c\}$, not just arithmetic progressions, showing that regular graphs satisfy a strictly stronger weighting property than what follows from the 1-2-3 Conjecture alone. The proof adapts the independent-set decomposition framework to edge-weightings and introduces a two-phase conflict-resolution scheme that operates independently of the specific choice of $\{a,b,c\}$.

Spectral radius and parity $[a,b]$-factors in graphs
Let $a$, $b$, and $n$ be three integers such that $1\leq a \leq b < n$, $a \equiv b$ (mod $2$), and $na$ is even. A parity $[a,b]$-factor of $G$ is a spanning subgraph $H$ such that for each vertex $v \in V(G)$, $a \leq d_H(v) \leq b$ and $d_H(v) \equiv a \equiv b$ (mod $2$). Recently, O [J. Graph Theory 100 (2022) 458-469] proved eigenvalue conditions for a regular graph to have a parity $[a,b]$-factor. In this paper, we prove a sharp lower bound on the spectral radius for an $n$-vertex graph $G$ to have a parity $[a,b]$-factor as follows: If $G$ is an $n$-vertex connected graph with $δ(G)\geq a$ and $ρ(G)\geqρ(G_{n}^{a})$, then $G$ contains a parity $[a,b]$-factor unless $G \cong G_{n}^{a}$, where $2\leq a<b$ and $G_{n}^{a}$ is the graph obtained from $K_{a-1}\vee(K_{n-2a-1}\cup(a+1)K_1)$ by adding a new vertex and adding all possible edges between the added vertex and each vertex in $(a+1)K_1$.

Lecture Notes on Edge Universality for Random Regular Graphs
The purpose of this note is to explain the structure, general strategy, and main ideas of the proof in the work of Huang, McKenzie, and Yau (2024) on the Ramanujan property and edge universality of random regular graphs. The core of the argument is the derivation of self-consistent equations and a microscopic version of the loop equations for random $d$-regular graphs. We first recall the local law for random $d$-regular graphs, and then illustrate the main ideas behind the derivation of the self-consistent equations and the first loop equation.

Symmetries of regular $q$-graphs
Given a finite vector space $V=\mathbb{F}_q^n$, the $q$-analogue of a graph, called a $q$-graph, is a pair $Γ=(\mathcal{V},\mathcal{E})$, where $\mathcal{V}$ is the set of $1$-dimensional subspaces of $V$ and $\mathcal{E}$ is a subset of the $2$-dimensional subspaces of $V$. Elements of $\mathcal{V}$ and $\mathcal{E}$ are called vertices and edges, respectively. If the edges through a vertex $X$ consist of all $2$-spaces of a $(k+1)$-dimensional space which contain $X$, regardless of the choice of vertex, then $Γ$ is $k$-regular. Moreover, $Γ$ is flag-transitive if there is a subgroup of $Γ{\rm L}_n(q)$ preserving $\mathcal{E}$ and acting transitively on the set of all incident vertex-edge pairs; and symmetric if there is a subgroup of $Γ{\rm L}_n(q)$ preserving $\mathcal{E}$ and acting transitively on the set of all ordered pairs of adjacent vertices. This paper classifies all $k$-regular $q$-graphs that are either flag-transitive or symmetric. The $q$-graphs in the classification are constructed from familiar objects in finite geometry, including spreads, symplectic polar spaces, and generalised hexagons. The classification depends essentially on the classification of transitive linear groups, and thus ultimately on the classification of finite simple groups.

Maximizing subgraph counts in regular graphs
Given a graph $H$, we investigate the $d$-regular graphs $G$ with the highest $H$-density. We reframe the problem as a continuous optimization problem on the eigenvalues of $G$ by relating injective homomorphism numbers from $H$ and homomorphism numbers from quotient graphs of $H$. For almost all $H$, this relation has non-spectral terms, which require bounding by spectral terms in a way that is sharp at the optimal graph. For bipartite $H$ and $d$ large enough, we show $G$ consists of disjoint copies of $K_{d,d}$. For non-bipartite $H$ and $d$ sufficiently large, $G$ is a collection of disjoint $K_{d+1}$ graphs. For $H=C_5$ and $d=3$, disjoint Petersen graphs emerge.
Asymptotic number of edge-colored regular graphs
We prove a formula for the asymptotic number of edge-colored regular graphs with a prescribed set of allowed vertex-incidence structures. The formula depends on specific critical points of a polynomial encoding the vertex-incidences. As an application, we compute the expected number of proper $c$-edge-colorings of a large random $k$-regular graph.

On asymptotically tight bounds for the open conflict-free chromatic indexes of nearly regular graphs
An edge colouring $c$ of a graph $G$ is called conflic-free if every non-isolated edge of $G$ has a uniquely coloured neighbour in its open edge neighbourhood. The least number of colours admitting such a colouring is denoted by $χ'_{\rm OCF}(G)$, or $χ'_{\rm pOCF}(G)$ if we additionally require $c$ to be proper. Our main result implies in particular that $χ'_{\rm OCF}(G) \le \log_2 Δ+ O(\ln\lnΔ)$ for nearly regular graphs $G$ with maximum degree $Δ$, which is asymptotically optimal, as witnessed by the complete graphs. For proper colourings, we moreover show that $χ'_{\rm pOCF}(G) \le Δ+ O(\ln Δ)$ in the same regime. These results improve existing bounds stemming from related colouring models and transfer directly to random graphs' setting. The proofs combine decomposition techniques with probabilistic arguments and structural properties of edge neighbourhoods.

Perfect codes in weakly metric association schemes
The Lloyd Theorem of (Solé, 1989) is combined with the Schwartz-Zippel Lemma of theoretical computer science to derive non-existence results for perfect codes in the Lee metric, NRT metric, mixed Hamming metric, and for the sum-rank distance. The proofs are based on asymptotic enumeration of integer partitions. The framework is the new concept of {\em polynomial} weakly metric association schemes. A connection between this notion and the recent theory of multivariate P-polynomial schemes of ( Bannai et al. 2025) and of $m$-distance regular graphs ( Bernard et al 2025) is pointed out.

Extending graph total colorings to cell complexes
Let $2\le k\in\mathbb{Z}$. A total coloring of a simple connected regular graph via color set $ \{0,1,\ldots, k\}$ is said to be {\it efficient} if each color yields an efficient dominating set, where the efficient domination condition applies to the restriction of each color class to the vertex set. In this work, focus is set upon 2-cell complexes whose 1-skeletons, namely their induced 1-cell complexes, are toroidal graphs. Each such 2-cell complex is said to cover its induced 1-skeleton. An efficient total coloring of one such skeleton induces an efficient total cell coloring of its covering 2-cell complex if it assigns a vertex-and-edge $k$-color set to the border skeleton of each of its 2-cells, with the consequently missing color in $\{0,1,\ldots,k\}$ assigned to the 2-cell itself, so that the two adjacent 2-cells along any 1-cell are assigned different colors. Applications are given for plane tilings, cycle products, toroidal triangulations, honeycombs and star-of-David tilings.

Anticoncentration of random spanning trees in almost regular graphs
The celebrated formula of Otter \emph{[Ann. of Math. (2) 49 (1948), 583--599]} asserts that the complete graph contains exponentially many non-isomorphic spanning trees. In this paper, we show that every connected almost regular graph with sufficiently large degree already contains exponentially many non-isomorphic spanning trees. Indeed, we prove a stronger statement: for every fixed $n$-vertex tree $T$, $$ \Pr\bigl[\mathcal{T} \simeq_{\mathrm{iso}} T\bigr] = e^{-Ω(n)}, $$ where $\mathcal{T}$ is a uniformly random spanning tree of a connected $n$-vertex almost regular graph with sufficiently large degree. To prove this, we introduce a graph-theoretic variant of the classical balls--into--bins model, which may be of independent interest.

The punctured dodecacode is unique
The punctured dodecacode is an additive $4$-ary code of length $11$ and distance $5$ which is uniformly packed. We show that a code with the same weight distribution is equivalent to it. This code is also shown to be nonlinear. We also establish the nonexistence of analogues of the dodecacode and the punctured dodecacode in Doob graphs. To that end, we classify two-weight codes of weights $6$ and $8$ in Doob and $4$-ary Hamming graphs of diameter $9$ and the corresponding strongly regular graphs. Keywords: dodecacode, additive code, trace Hermitian duality, uniformly packed code, completely regular code, Doob graph, strongly regular graph

On perfect matchings, edge-colourings and eigenvalues of cubic graphs
We discuss the question whether the existence of perfect matchings in a cubic graph can be seen from the spectrum of its adjacency matrix. For regular graphs in general and for three edge-disjoint perfect matchings in a cubic graph (that is, an edge colouring with three colors) the answer is known to be negative. In the latter case, a few counter examples (found by computer) are known. Here we show that these counter examples can be extended to an infinite family by use of truncation. Thus we obtain infinitely many pairs of cospectral cubic graphs with different edge-chromatic number. For all these pairs both graphs have a perfect matching, and the mentioned question is still open. But we do find a new sufficient condition for a perfect matching in a cubic graphs in terms of its spectrum. In addition we obtain a few more results concerning spectral characterizations of cubic graphs.

Lee-Yang phenomena in edge-coloured graph counting
We study the accumulation of zeros of a polynomial arising from the enumeration of edge-coloured graphs along certain limit curves. The polynomial is a variant of an edge-chromatic polynomial, which specialises to the partition function of the ferromagnetic Ising model on a random regular graph. We call this accumulation behaviour a Lee-Yang phenomenon in analogy with the Lee-Yang theorem. The limiting loci are semialgebraic and arise from anti-Stokes curves of an exponential integral.
Efficient Enumeration of Cliques in Graphs with Bounded Maximum Degree
In recent years, there has been a surge of interest in extremal problems concerning the enumeration of independent sets or cliques in graphs with specific constraints. For instance, the Kahn-Zhao theorem establishes an upper bound on the number of independent sets in a $d$-regular graph. Building on this, Cutler and Radcliffe extended the result by identifying the graph that maximizes the number of cliques among graphs with bounded order and maximum degree. In this paper, we introduce an innovative approach for counting cliques in graphs with a bounded maximum degree. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the method, we provide a new proof for the above Cutler-Radcliffe theorem and the Kahn-Zhao theorem.

The Minimum Subgraph Complementation Problem
Subgraph complementation is an operation that toggles all adjacencies inside a selected vertex set. Given a graph \(G\) and a target class \(\mathcal{C}\), the Minimum Subgraph Complementation problem asks for a minimum-size vertex set \(S\) such that complementing the subgraph induced by \(S\) transforms \(G\) into a graph belonging to \(\mathcal{C}\). While the decision version of Subgraph Complementation has been extensively studied and is NP-complete for many graph classes, the algorithmic complexity of its optimization variant has remained largely unexplored. In this paper, we study MSC from an algorithmic perspective. We present polynomial-time algorithms for MSC in several nontrivial settings. Our results include polynomial-time solvability for transforming graphs between bipartite, co-bipartite, and split graphs, as well as for complementing bipartite regular graphs into chordal graphs. We also show that MSC to the class of graphs of fixed degeneracy can be solved in polynomial time when the input graph is a forest. Moreover, we investigate MSC with respect to connectivity and prove that MSC to the class of disconnected graphs and to the class of 2-connected graphs can be solved in polynomial time for arbitrary inputs.

Clique factors in random samplings of regular graphs
We show that for any integer $r\ge 2$, there exists a constant $c>0$ such that for every sufficiently large integer $n$, every $((r-1)n+1)$-regular graph $G$ on $rn$ vertices has at least $c2^{rn}$ subsets $S\subseteq V(G)$ such that $G[S]$ contains a $K_r$-factor. This confirms a conjecture of Draganić, Keevash and Müyesser for large $n$ [Cyclic subsets in regular Dirac graphs. Int. Math. Res. Not., 2025(14): 1-16, 2025].
Quadratic Embedding Constants of Corona Graphs
The quadratic embedding constant (QEC) of a connected graph is defined to be the maximum of the quadratic function associated with its distance matrix on a certain unit sphere of codimension two. In this paper we derive a formula for the QEC of a corona graph $G\odot H$. It is shown that $\mathrm{QEC}(G\odot H)=ψ_{H*}^{-1}(\mathrm{QEC}(G))$ holds under some spectral assumptions on $H$, where $ψ_{H*}^{-1}$ is the inverse function of the most right branch of the analytic function $ψ_H$ defined by means of the main eigenvalues of the adjacency matrix of $H$. Moreover, if $H$ is a regular graph of which the adjacency matrix has the smallest eigenvalue $-2$, then the formula is written down explicitly.
