We derive by analytic means a number of bilateral identities of the Rogers--Ramanujan type. Our results include bilateral extensions of the Rogers--Ramanujan and the Göllnitz-Gordon identities, and of related identities by Ramanujan, Jackson, and Slater. We give corresponding results for multiseries including multilateral extensions of the Andrews--Gordon identities, of the Andrews--Bressoud generalization of the Göllnitz--Gordon identities, of Bressoud's even modulus identities, and other identities. Our closed form bilateral and multilateral summations appear to be the very first of their kind.
Parity Considerations in Rogers-Ramanujan-Gordon Type Overpartitions

In 2010, Andrews considers a variety of parity questions connected to classical partition identities of Euler, Rogers, Ramanujan and Gordon. As a large part in his paper, Andrews considered the partitions by restricting the parity of occurrences of even numbers or odd numbers in the Rogers-Ramanujan-Gordon type. The Rogers-Ramanujan-Gordon type partition was defined by Gordon in 1961 as a combinatorial generalization of the Rogers-Ramaujan identities with odd moduli.
In 1974, Andrews derived an identity which can be considered as the generating function counterpart of the Rogers-Ramanujan-Gordon theorem, and since then it has been called the Andrews--Gordon identity. By revisting the Andrews--Gordon identity Andrews extended his results by considering some additional restrictions involving parities to obtain some Rogers-Ramanujan-Gordon type theorems and Andrews--Gordon type identities. In the end of Andrews' paper, he posed $15$ open problems. Most of Andrews' $15$ open problems have been settled, but the $11$th that "extend the parity indices to overpartitions in a manner" has not. In 2013, Chen, Sang and Shi, derived the overpartition analogues of the Rogers-Ramanujan-Gordon theorem and the Andrews-Gordon identity. In this paper, we post some parity restrictions on these overpartitions analogues to get some Rogers-Ramanujan-Gordon type overpartition theorems.
Congruences modulo $4$ for Rogers--Ramanujan--Gordon type overpartitions
In a recent work, Andrews defined the singular overpartitions with the goal of presenting an overpartition analogue to the theorems of Rogers--Ramanujan type for ordinary partitions with restricted successive ranks. As a small part of his work, Andrews noted two congruences modulo $3$ for the number of singular overpartitions prescribed by parameters $k=3$ and $i=1$. It should be noticed that this number equals the number of the Rogers--Ramanujan--Gordon type overpartitions with $k=i=3$ which come from the overpartition analogue of Gordon's Rogers--Ramanujan partition theorem introduced by Chen, Sang and Shi. In this paper, we derive numbers of congruence identities modulo $4$ for the number of Rogers--Ramanujan--Gordon type overpartitions.
Overpartitions Identities Involving Gaps and Weights
In this paper, we find an identity which connects the overpartition function and the function of Rogers--Ramanujan--Gordon type overpartitions by considering the weights and gaps. This identity can be seen as an analogue of the weighted identity of Alladi.

In a very recent work, G. E. Andrews defined the combinatorial objects which he called {\it singular overpartitions} with the goal of presenting a general theorem for overpartitions which is analogous to theorems of Rogers--Ramanujan type for ordinary partitions with restricted successive ranks. As a small part of his work, Andrews noted two congruences modulo 3 which followed from elementary generating function manipulations. In this work, we prove that Andrews' results modulo 3 are two examples of an infinite family of congruences modulo 3 which hold for that particular function. We also expand the consideration of such arithmetic properties to other functions which are part of Andrews' framework for singular overpartitions.
Generalized Rogers Ramanujan Identities from AGT Correspondence

AGT correspondence and its generalizations attracted a great deal of attention recently. In particular it was suggested that $U(r)$ instantons on $R^4/Z_p$ describe the conformal blocks of the coset ${\cal A}(r,p)=U(1)\times sl(p)_r\times {sl(r)_p\times sl(r)_n\over sl(r)_{n+p}}$, where $n$ is a parameter. Our purpose here is to describe Generalized Rogers Ramanujan (GRR) identities for these cosets, which expresses the characters as certain $q$ series. We propose that such identities exist for the coset ${\cal A}(r,p)$ for all positive integers $n$ and all $r$ and $p$. We treat here the case of $n=1$ and $r=2$, finding GRR identities for all the characters.

A multilateral Bailey Lemma is proved, and multiple analogues of the Rogers--Ramanujan identities and Euler's Pentagonal Theorem are constructed as applications. The extreme cases of the Andrews--Gordon identities are also generalized using the multilateral Bailey Lemma where their final form is written in terms of determinants of theta functions.

An elliptic $BC_n$ generalization of the classical two parameter Bailey Lemma is proved, and a basic one parameter $BC_n$ Bailey Lemma is obtained as a limiting case. Several summation and transformation formulas associated with the root system $BC_n$ are proved as applications, including a $_6φ_5$ summation formula, a generalized Watson transformation and an unspecialized Rogers--Selberg identity. The last identity is specialized to give an infinite family of multilateral Rogers--Selberg identities. Standard determinant evaluations are then used to compute $B_n$ and $D_n$ generalizations of the Rogers--Ramanujan identities in terms of determinants of theta functions. Starting with the $BC_n$ $_6φ_5$ summation formula, a similar program is followed to prove an infinite family of $D_n$ Euler's Pentagonal Number Theorems.

We prove an identity for Hall--Littlewood symmetric functions labelled by the Lie algebra A_2. Through specialization this yields a simple proof of the A_2 Rogers--Ramanujan identities of Andrews, Schilling and the author.

Using the theory of intertwining operators for vertex operator algebras we show that the graded dimensions of the principal subspaces associated to the standard modules for $\hat{\goth{sl}(2)}$ satisfy certain classical recursion formulas of Rogers and Selberg. These recursions were exploited by Andrews in connection with Gordon's generalization of the Rogers--Ramanujan identities and with Andrews' related identities. The present work generalizes the authors' previous work on intertwining operators and the Rogers--Ramanujan recursion.

Several new transformations for q-binomial coefficients are found, which have the special feature that the kernel is a polynomial with nonnegative coefficients. By studying the group-like properties of these positivity preserving transformations, as well as their connection with the Bailey lemma, many new summation and transformation formulas for basic hypergeometric series are found. The new q-binomial transformations are also applied to obtain multisum Rogers--Ramanujan identities, to find new representations for the Rogers--Szego polynomials, and to make some progress on Bressoud's generalized Borwein conjecture. For the original Borwein conjecture we formulate a refinement based on a new triple sum representations of the Borwein polynomials.

We use vertex operator algebras and intertwining operators to study certain substructures of standard $A_1^{(1)}$--modules, allowing us to conceptually obtain the classical Rogers--Ramanujan recursion. As a consequence we recover Feigin-Stoyanovsky's character formulas for the principal subspaces of the level 1 standard $A_1^{(1)}$--modules.
Twisted ${\mathfrak{sl}}(3,\C)\sptilde$-modules and combinatorial identities
The main result of this paper is a combinatorial description of a basis of standard level 1 module for the twisted affine Lie algebra $A_2^{(2)}.$ This description also gives two new combinatorial identities of Göllnitz (or Rogers--Ramanujan) type. Methods used through the paper are mainly developed by J. Lepowsky, R. L. Wilson, A. Meurman and M. Primc, and the crucial role in constructions plays a vertex operator algebra approach to standard representations of affine Lie algebras.

Given an arbitrary ordered pair of coprime integers (a,b) we obtain a pair of identities of the Rogers--Ramanujan type. These identities have the same product side as the (first) Andrews--Gordon identity for modulus 2ab\pm 1, but an altogether different sum side, based on the representation of (a/b-1)^{\pm 1} as a continued fraction. Our proof, which relies on the Burge transform, first establishes a binary tree of polynomial identities. Each identity in this Burge tree settles a special case of Bressoud's generalized Borwein conjecture.

The asymptotic probability theory of conjugacy classes of the finite general linear and unitary groups leads to a probability measure on the set of all partitions of natural numbers. A simple method of understanding these measures in terms of Markov chains is given and compared with work on the uniform measure. Elementary probabilistic proofs of the Rogers-Ramanujan identities follow. As a corollary, the main case of Bailey's lemma is interpreted as finding eigenvectors of the transition matrix of the Markov chain. It is shown that the viewpoint of Markov chains extends to quivers.
