Counting Schur Rings over Cyclic Groups of Semi-prime Order
In this paper, we continue the enumeration of Schur rings over cyclic groups. Cyclic groups of semiprime order $pq$, where $p$ and $q$ are distinct primes, are considered. Additionally, cyclic groups of order $4p$ are considered.
Generalized Bijective Maps between $G$-Parking Functions, Spanning Trees, and the Tutte Polynomial

We introduce an object called a tree growing sequence (TGS) in an effort to generalize bijective correspondences between $G$-parking functions, spanning trees, and the set of monomials in the Tutte polynomial of a graph $G$. A tree growing sequence determines an algorithm which can be applied to a single function, or to the set $\mathcal{P}_{G,q}$ of $G$-parking functions. When the latter is chosen, the algorithm uses splitting operations - inspired by the recursive defintion of the Tutte polynomial - to iteratively break $\mathcal{P}_{G,q}$ into disjoint subsets. This results in bijective maps $τ$ and $ρ$ from $\mathcal{P}_{G,q}$ to the spanning trees of $G$ and Tutte monomials, respectively. We compare the TGS algorithm to Dhar's algorithm and the family described by Chebikin and Pylyavskyy. Finally, we compute a Tutte polynomial of a zonotopal tiling using analogous splitting operations.
Local Banach-space dichotomies and ergodic spaces

We prove a local version of Gowers' Ramsey-type theorem [Ann. Math. 156 (2002)], as well as local versions both of the Banach space first dichotomy (the "unconditional/HI" dichotomy) of Gowers [Ann. Math. 156 (2002)] and of the third dichotomy (the "minimal/tight" dichotomy) due to Ferenczi-Rosendal [J. Funct. Anal. 257 (2009)]. This means that we obtain versions of these dichotomies restricted to certain families of subspaces called D-families, of which several concrete examples are given. As a main example, non-Hilbertian spaces form D-families; therefore versions of the above properties for non-Hilbertian spaces appear in new Banach space dichotomies. As a consequence we obtain new information on the number of subspaces of non-Hilbertian Banach spaces, making some progress towards the "ergodic" conjecture of Ferenczi-Rosendal and towards a question of Johnson.
Tropical Data Science
Phylogenomics is a new field which applies to tools in phylogenetics to genome data. Due to a new technology and increasing amount of data, we face new challenges to analyze them over a space of phylogenetic trees. Because a space of phylogenetic trees with a fixed set of labels on leaves is not Euclidean, we cannot simply apply tools in data science. In this paper we survey some new developments of machine learning models using tropical geometry to analyze a set of phylogenetic trees over a tree space.
Motions of a connected subgraph representing a swarm of robots inside a graph of work stations

Imagine that a swarm of robots is given, these robots must communicate with each other, and they can do so if certain conditions are met. We say that the swarm is connected if there is at least one way to send a message between each pair of robots. A robot can move from a work station to another only if the connectivity of the swarm is preserved in order to perform some tasks. We model the problem via graph theory, we study connected subgraphs and how to motion them inside a connected graph preserving the connectivity. We determine completely the group of movements.

We give a crystal structure on the set of Gelfand-Tsetlin patterns which parametrize bases for finite-dimensional irreducible representations of the general linear Lie algebra. The crystal data are given in closed form, expressed using tropical polynomial functions of the entries of the patterns. We prove that with this crystal structure, the natural bijection between Gelfand-Tsetlin patterns and semistandard Young tableaux is a crystal isomorphism.
The cone of quasi-semimetrics and exponent matrices of tiled orders

Finite quasi semimetrics on $n$ can be thought of as nonnegative valuations on the edges of a complete directed graph on $n$ vertices satisfying all possible triangle inequalities. They comprise a polyhedral cone whose symmetry groups were studied for small $n$ by Deza, Dutour and Panteleeva. We show that the symmetry and combinatorial symmetry groups are as they conjectured. Integral quasi semimetrics have apecial place in the theory of tiled orders, being known as exponent matrices, and can be viewed as monoids under componentwise maximum; we provide a novel derivation of the automorphism group of that monoid. Some of these results follow from more general consideration of polyhedral cones that are closed under componentwise maximum.
Maximal sets of $k$-spaces pairwise intersecting in at least a $(k-2)$-space
In this paper, we analyze the structure of maximal sets of $k$-dimensional spaces in $\mathrm{PG}(n,q)$ pairwise intersecting in at least a $(k-2)$-dimensional space, for $3 \leq k\leq n-2$. We give an overview of the largest examples of these sets with size more than $f(k,q)=\max\{3q^4+6q^3+5q^2+q+1,θ_{k+1}+q^4+2q^3+3q^2\}$.

We characterize the formulas that are avoided by every $α$-free word for some $α>1$. We study the avoidability index of formulas whose fragments are of the form $XYX$. The largest avoidability index of an avoidable palindrome pattern is known to be at least $4$ and at most $16$. We make progress toward the conjecture that every avoidable palindrome pattern is $4$-avoidable.
List homomorphism problems for signed trees

We consider homomorphisms of signed graphs from a computational perspective. In particular, we study the list homomorphism problem seeking a homomorphism of an input signed graph $(G,σ)$, equipped with lists $L(v) \subseteq V(H), v \in V(G)$, of allowed images, to a fixed target signed graph $(H,π)$. The complexity of the similar homomorphism problem without lists (corresponding to all lists being $L(v)=V(H)$) has been previously classified by Brewster and Siggers, but the list version remains open and appears difficult. We illustrate this difficulty by classifying the complexity of the problem when $H$ is a tree (with possible loops). The tools we develop will be useful for classifications of other classes of signed graphs, and in a future companion paper we will illustrate this by using them to classify the complexity for certain irreflexive signed graphs. The structure of the signed trees in the polynomial cases is interesting, suggesting that the class of general signed graphs for which the problems are polynomial may have nice structure, analogous to the so-called bi-arc graphs (which characterized the polynomial cases of list homomorphisms to unsigned graphs).
Adapted Sequences and Polyhedral Realizations of Crystal Bases for highest weight modules

The polyhedral realizations for crystal bases of the integrable highest weight modules of $U_q(\mathfrak{g})$ have been introduced in ([T.Nakashima, J. Algebra, vol.219, no. 2, (1999)]), which describe the crystal bases as sets of lattice points in the infinite $\mathbb{Z}$-lattice $\mathbb{Z}^{\infty}$ given by some system of linear inequalities, where $\mathfrak{g}$ is a symmetrizable Kac-Moody Lie algebra. To construct the polyhedral realization, we need to fix an infinite sequence $ι$ from the indices of the simple roots. If the pair ($ι$,$λ$) ($λ$: a dominant integral weight) satisfies the `ample' condition then there are some procedure to calculate the sets of linear inequalities.
In this article, we show that if $ι$ is an adapted sequence (defined in our paper [Y.Kanakubo, T.Nakashima, arXiv:1904.10919]) then the pair ($ι$, $λ$) satisfies the ample condition for any dominant integral weight $λ$ in the case $\mathfrak{g}$ is a classical Lie algebra. Furthermore, we reveal the explicit forms of the polyhedral realizations of the crystal bases $B(λ)$ associated with arbitrary adapted sequences $ι$ in terms of column tableaux. As an application, we will give a combinatorial description of the function $\varepsilon_i^*$ on the crystal base $B(\infty)$.
A classification of one dimensional affine rank three graphs

The rank three subgroups of a one-dimensional affine group over a finite field were classified in 1978 by Foulser and Kallaher. Although one can use their results for a classification of corresponding rank three graphs, the author did not find such a classification in a literature. The goal of this note is to present such a classification. It turned out that graph classification is much simpler than the group one. More precisely, it is shown that the graphs in the title are either the Paley graphs or one of the graphs constructed by Van Lint and Schrijver or by Peisert. Our approach is based on elementary group theory and does not use the classification of rank three affine groups.

In this paper, we give a constructive proof of the fact that the treewidth of a graph is at most its divisorial gonality. The proof gives a polynomial time algorithm to construct a tree decomposition of width at most $k$, when an effective divisor of degree $k$ that reaches all vertices is given. We also give a similar result for two related notions: stable divisorial gonality and stable gonality.

Let $V$ be a $(d+1)$-dimensional vector space over a field $\mathbb{F}$. Sesquilinear forms over $V$ have been largely studied when they are reflexive and hence give rise to a (possibly degenerate) polarity of the $d$-dimensional projective space PG$(V)$. Everything is known in this case for both degenerate and non-degenerate reflexive forms if $\mathbb{F}$ is either ${\mathbb{R}}$, ${\mathbb{C}}$ or a finite field ${\mathbb{F}}_q$. In this paper we consider degenerate, non-reflexive sesquilinear forms of $V=\mathbb{F}_{q^n}^3$. We will see that these forms give rise to degenerate correlations of PG$(2,q^n)$ whose set of absolute points are, besides cones, the (possibly degenerate) $C_F^m$-sets. In the final section we collect some results from the huge work of B.C. Kestenband regarding what is known for the set of the absolute points of correlations in PG$(2,q^n)$ induced by a non-degenerate, non-reflexive sesquilinear form of $V=\mathbb{F}_{q^n}^3$.

For each prime power $q\geq 5$, we construct a rank four chiral polytope that has a group $PSL(3,q)$ as automorphism group and Schläfli type $\{q-1,\frac{2(q-1)}{(3,q-1)},q-1\}$. We also construct rank five polytopes for some values of $q$ and we show that there is no chiral polytope of rank at least six having a group $PSL(3,q)$ or $PSU(3,q)$ as automorphism group.
On the chromatic number of two generalized Kneser graphs
We determine the chromatic number of some graphs of flags in buildings of type $A_4$, namely of the Kneser graphs of flags of type $\{2,4\}$ in the vector spaces $GF(q)^5$ for $q\geq3$, and of the Kneser graph of flags of type $\{2,3\}$ in the vector spaces $GF(q)^5$ for large $q$.
Estimating the Cheeger constant using machine learning
In this paper, we use machine learning to show that the Cheeger constant of a connected regular graph has a predominant linear dependence on the largest two eigenvalues of the graph spectrum. We also show that a trained deep neural network on graphs of smaller sizes can be used as an effective estimator in estimating the Cheeger constant of larger graphs.

Starting from the two-species partially asymmetric simple exclusion process, we study a subclass of signed permutations, the partially signed permutations, using the combinatorics of Laguerre histories. From this physical and bijective point of view, we obtain a natural descent statistic on partially signed permutations; as well as partially signed permutations patterns.
Eulerian representations for real reflection groups

The Eulerian idempotents, first introduced for the symmetric group and later extended to all reflection groups, generate a family of representations called the Eulerian representations that decompose the regular representation. In Type $A$, the Eulerian representations have many elegant but mysterious connections to rings naturally associated with the braid arrangement. In this paper, we unify these results and show that they hold for any reflection group of coincidental type -- that is, $S_{n}$, $B_{n}$, $H_{3}$ or the dihedral group $I_{2}(m)$ -- by giving six characterizations of the Eulerian representations, including as components of the associated graded of the Varchenko-Gelfand ring $\mathcal{V}$. As a consequence, we show that Solomon's descent algebra contains a commutative subalgebra generated by sums of elements with the same number of descents if and only if $W$ is coincidental. More generally, when $W$ is any finite real reflection group, we give a case-free construction of a family of Eulerian representations described by a flat-decomposition of the ring $\mathcal{V}$.
