Modular equalities for complex reflection arrangements

We compute the combinatorial Aomoto-Betti numbers $β_p(\mathcal{A})$ of a complex reflection arrangement. When $\mathcal{A}$ has rank at least $3$, we find that $β_p(\mathcal{A})\le 2$, for all primes $p$. Moreover, $β_p(\mathcal{A})=0$ if $p>3$, and $β_2(\mathcal{A})\ne 0$ if and only if $\mathcal{A}$ is the Hesse arrangement. We deduce that the multiplicity $e_d(\mathcal{A})$ of an order $d$ eigenvalue of the monodromy action on the first rational homology of the Milnor fiber is equal to the corresponding Aomoto-Betti number, when $d$ is prime. We give a uniform combinatorial characterization of the property $e_d(\mathcal{A})\ne 0$, for $2\le d\le 4$. We completely describe the monodromy action for full monomial arrangements of rank $3$ and $4$. We relate $e_d(\mathcal{A})$ and $β_p(\mathcal{A})$ to multinets, on an arbitrary arrangement.

The authors Mili$\breve{c}$evi$\acute{c}$ et al. introduced the reformulated Zagreb indices, which is a generalization of classical Zagreb indices of chemical graph theory. In the paper, we characterize the extremal properties of the first reformulated Zagreb index. We first introduce some graph operations which increase or decrease this index. Furthermore, we will determine the extremal tricyclic graphs with minimum and maximum the first Zagreb index by these graph operations.

We give a complete description of the set of triples (a,b,c) of real numbers with the following property. There exists a constant K such that a n_3 + b n_2 + c n_1 - K is a lower bound for the matching number of every connected subcubic graph G, where n_i denotes the number of vertices of degree i for each i.
Dimension-Free $L^p$-Maximal Inequalities in $\mathbb{Z}_{m+1}^N$
For $m \geq 2$, let $(\mathbb{Z}_{m+1}^N, |\cdot|)$ denote the group equipped with the so-called $l^0$ metric,
\[ |y| = \left| \big( y(1), \dots, y(N) \big) \right| := | \{1 \leq i \leq N : y(i) \neq 0 \} |,\] and define the $L^1$-normalized indicator of the $r$-sphere, \[ σ_r := \frac{1}{|\{|x| = r\}|} 1_{\{|x| =r\}}.\] We study the $L^p \to L^p$ mapping properties of the maximal operator \[ M^{N} f (x) := \sup_{r \leq N} | σ_r*f| \] acting on functions defined on $\mathbb{Z}_{m+1}^N$.
Specifically, we prove that for all $p>1$, there exist absolute constants $C_{m,p}$ so that \[ \| M^{N} f \|_{L^p(\mathbb{Z}_{m+1}^N)} \leq C_{m,p} \| f \|_{L^p(\mathbb{Z}_{m+1}^N)} \] for all $N$.
Cluster Algebras and the Positive Grassmannian

Plabic graphs are intimately connected to the positroid stratification of the positive Grassmannian. The duals to these graphs are quivers, and it is possible to associate to them cluster algebras. For the top-cell graph of $Gr_{+}(k,n)$, this cluster algebra is the homogeneous coordinate ring of the corresponding positroid variety. We prove that the same statement holds for plabic graphs describing lower dimensional cells. In this way we obtain a map from the positroid strata onto cluster subalgebras of $Gr_{+}(k,n)$. We explore some of the consequences of this map for tree-level scattering amplitudes in $\mathcal N=4$ super Yang-Mills theory.

Since 1950s, mathematicians have successfully interpreted the traditional Eulerian numbers and $q-$Eulerian numbers combinatorially. In this paper, the authors give a combinatorial interpretation to the general Eulerian numbers defined on general arithmetic progressions { a, a+d, a+2d,...}.
An information theoretic approach to Sidorenko's conjecture
We investigate the famous conjecture by Erd\H os-Simonovits and Sidorenko using information theory. Our method gives a unified treatment for all known cases of the conjecture and it implies various new results as well. Our topological type conditions allow us to extend Sidorenko's conjecture to large families of $k$-uniform hypergraphs. This is somewhat unexpected since the conjecture fails for $k$ uniform hypergraphs in general.
Minimum Degrees of Minimal Ramsey Graphs for Almost-Cliques

For graphs $F$ and $H$, we say $F$ is Ramsey for $H$ if every $2$-coloring of the edges of $F$ contains a monochromatic copy of $H$. The graph $F$ is Ramsey $H$-minimal if $F$ is Ramsey for $H$ and there is no proper subgraph $F'$ of $F$ so that $F'$ is Ramsey for $H$. Burr, Erdos, and Lovasz defined $s(H)$ to be the minimum degree of $F$ over all Ramsey $H$-minimal graphs $F$. Define $H_{t,d}$ to be a graph on $t+1$ vertices consisting of a complete graph on $t$ vertices and one additional vertex of degree $d$. We show that $s(H_{t,d})=d^2$ for all values $1<d\le t$; it was previously known that $s(H_{t,1})=t-1$, so it is surprising that $s(H_{t,2})=4$ is much smaller.
We also make some further progress on some sparser graphs. Fox and Lin observed that $s(H)\ge 2δ(H)-1$ for all graphs $H$, where $δ(H)$ is the minimum degree of $H$; Szabo, Zumstein, and Zurcher investigated which graphs have this property and conjectured that all bipartite graphs $H$ without isolated vertices satisfy $s(H)=2δ(H)-1$. Fox, Grinshpun, Liebenau, Person, and Szabo further conjectured that all triangle-free graphs without isolated vertices satisfy this property. We show that $d$-regular $3$-connected triangle-free graphs $H$, with one extra technical constraint, satisfy $s(H) = 2δ(H)-1$; the extra constraint is that $H$ has a vertex $v$ so that if one removes $v$ and its neighborhood from $H$, the remainder is connected.

We detail the enumeration of all two-intersection sets of the five-dimensional projective space over the field of order 3 that are invariant under an element of order 7, which include the examples of Hill (1973) and Gulliver (1996). Up to projective equivalence, there are 6635 such two-intersection sets.

Using an extension of Wright's version of the circle method, we obtain asymptotic formulae for partition ranks similar to formulae for partition cranks which where conjectured by F. Dyson and recently proved by the first author and K. Bringmann.
Certain Types of Total Irregularities of Graphs and Digraphs
The total irregularity of a simple undirected graph $G$ is denoted by $irr_t(G)$ and is defined as $irr_t(G) = \frac{1}{2}\sum\limits_{u,v \in V(G)}|d(u) - d(v)|$. In this paper, the concept called edge-transformation in relation to total irregularity of simple undirected graphs with at least one cut edge is introduced. We also introduce the concept of an edge-joint between two simple undirected graphs. We also introduce the concept of total irregularity in respect of in-degree and out-degree in simple directed graphs. These invariants are called total in-irregularity and total out-irregularity respectively. In this paper, we initiate a study on these parameters of given simple undirected graphs and simple digraphs.
A Conjecture on Zero-sum 3-magic Labeling of 5-regular Graphs

We introduce a general construction that takes as input a so-called stiff PRO and that outputs a Hopf algebra. Stiff PROs are particular PROs that can be described by generators and relations with precise conditions. Our construction generalizes the classical construction from operads to Hopf algebras of van der Laan. We study some of its properties and review some examples of application. We get in particular Hopf algebras on heaps of pieces and retrieve some deformed versions of the noncommutative Faà di Bruno algebra introduced by Foissy.

In this paper, we study $w$-frameproof codes, which are equivalent to $\{1,w\}$-separating hash families. Our main results concern binary codes, which are defined over an alphabet of two symbols. For all $w \geq 3$, and for $w+1 \leq N \leq 3w$, we show that an $SHF(N; n,2, \{1,w \})$ exists only if $n \leq N$, and an $SHF(N; N,2, \{1,w \})$ must be a permutation matrix of degree $N$.

In 1987, Kolaitis, Prömel and Rothschild proved that, for every fixed $r \in \mathbb{N}$, almost every $n$-vertex $K_{r+1}$-free graph is $r$-partite. In this paper we extend this result to all functions $r = r(n)$ with $r \leqslant (\log n)^{1/4}$. The proof combines a new (close to sharp) supersaturation version of the Erdős-Simonovits stability theorem, the hypergraph container method, and a counting technique developed by Balogh, Bollobás and Simonovits.

We introduce the non-pure versions of simplicial balls and spheres with minimum number of vertices. These are a special type of non-homogeneous balls and spheres (NH-balls and NH-spheres) satisfying a minimality condition on the number of maximal simplices. The main result is that minimal NH-balls and NH-spheres are precisely the simplicial complexes whose iterated Alexander duals converge respectively to a simplex or the boundary of a simplex.

In this paper we consider mixed volumes of combinations of hypersimplices. These numbers, called "mixed Eulerian numbers", were first considered by A. Postnikov and were shown to satisfy many properties related to Eulerian numbers, Catalan numbers, binomial coefficients, etc. We give a general combinatorial interpretation for mixed Eulerian numbers and prove the above properties combinatorially. In particular, we show that each mixed Eulerian number enumerates a certain set of permutations in $S_n$. We also prove several new properties of mixed Eulerian numbers using our methods. Finally, we consider a type $B$ analogue of mixed Eulerian numbers and give an analogous combinatorial interpretation for these numbers.

A pseudo-hyperoval of a projective space $\PG(3n-1,q)$, $q$ even, is a set of $q^n+2$ subspaces of dimension $n-1$ such that any three span the whole space. We prove that a pseudo-hyperoval with an irreducible transitive stabiliser is elementary. We then deduce from this result a classification of the thick generalised quadrangles $\mathcal{Q}$ that admit a point-primitive, line-transitive automorphism group with a point-regular abelian normal subgroup. Specifically, we show that $\mathcal{Q}$ is flag-transitive and isomorphic to $T_2^*(\mathcal{H})$, where $\mathcal{H}$ is either the regular hyperoval of $\PG(2,4)$ or the Lunelli--Sce hyperoval of $\PG(2,16)$.
