The Chain Matrix of Bouquets of Geometric Lattices and its Determinant
This work builds on Varchenko et al's introduction of bilinear forms for hyperplane arrangements, where the determinant of the associated matrices factorizes into simple components. While one of the determinant formula developed by Varchenko has been generalized to complexes of oriented matroids (COMs) already, this question was open for another, distinct form. Motivated by work from Varchenko and Brylawski, who generalized the alternative bilinear form and its determinant formula from hyperplane arrangements to matroids, we examine whether this formula can similarly be generalized to COMs. Our findings affirm this generalization, and we further extend the determinant formula to bouquets of geometric lattices as introduced by Laurent et al.
Reconfiguration Using Generalized Token Jumping
In reconfiguration, we are given two solutions to a graph problem, such as Vertex Cover or Dominating Set, with each solu tion represented by a placement of tokens on vertices of the graph. Our task is to reconfigure one into the other using small steps while ensuring the intermediate configurations of tokens are also valid solutions. The two commonly studied settings are Token Jumping and Token Sliding, which allows moving a single token to an arbitrary or an adjacent vertex, respectively.
We introduce new rules that generalize Token Jumping, parameterized by the number of tokens allowed to move at once and by the maximum distance of each move. Our main contribution is identifying minimal rules that allow reconfiguring any possible given solution into any other for Independent Set, Vertex Cover, and Dominating Set. For each minimal rule, we also provide an efficient algorithm that finds a corresponding reconfiguration sequence.
We further focus on the rule that allows each token to move to an adjacent vertex in a single step. This natural variant turns out to be the minimal rule that guarantees reconfigurability for Vertex Cover. We determine the computational complexity of deciding whether a (shortest) reconfiguration sequence exists under this rule for the three studied problems. While reachability for Vertex Cover is shown to be in P, finding a shortest sequence is shown to be NP-complete. For Independent Set and Dominating Set, even reachability is shown to be PSPACE-complete.
Eccentricity spectrum of join of central graphs and Eccentricity Wiener index of graphs
The eccentricity matrix of a simple connected graph is derived from its distance matrix by preserving the largest non-zero distance in each row and column, while the other entries are set to zero. This article examines the $ε$-spectrum, $ε$-energy, $ε$-inertia and irreducibility of the central graph (respectively complement of the central graph) of a triangle-free regular graph(respectively regular graph). Also look into the $ε-$spectrum and the irreducibility of different central graph operations, such as central vertex join, central edge join, and central vertex-edge join. We also examine the $ε-$ energy of some specific graphs. These findings allow us to construct new families of $ε$-cospectral graphs and non $ε$-cospectral $ε-$equienergetic graphs. Additionally, we investigate certain upper and lower bounds for the eccentricity Wiener index of graphs. Also, provide an upper bound for the eccentricity energy of a self-centered graph.

We present an algorithm for the efficient generation of all pairwise non-isomorphic cycle permutation graphs, i.e. cubic graphs with a $2$-factor consisting of two chordless cycles, non-hamiltonian cycle permutation graphs and permutation snarks, i.e. cycle permutation graphs that do not admit a $3$-edge-colouring. This allows us to generate all cycle permutation graphs up to order $34$ and all permutation snarks up to order $46$, improving upon previous computational results by Brinkmann et al. Moreover, we give several improved lower bounds for interesting permutation snarks, such as for a smallest permutation snark of order $6 \bmod 8$ or a smallest permutation snark of girth at least $6$ and give more evidence in support of a conjecture of Goddyn. These computational results also allow us to complete a characterisation of the orders for which non-hamiltonian cycle permutation graphs exist, answering an open question by Klee from 1972, and yield many more counterexamples to conjectures by Jackson and Zhang.
Induced even cycles in locally sparse graphs
A graph $G$ is $(c,t)$-sparse if for every pair of vertex subsets $A,B\subset V(G)$ with $|A|,|B|\geq t$, $e(A,B)\leq (1-c)|A||B|$. In this paper we prove that for every $c>0$ and integer $\ell$, there exists $C>1$ such that if an $n$-vertex graph $G$ is $(c,t)$-sparse for some $t$, and has at least $C t^{1-1/\ell}n^{1+1/\ell}$ edges, then $G$ contains an induced copy of $C_{2\ell}$. This resolves a conjecture of Fox, Nenadov and Pham.

For a subtorus $T \subseteq (\mathbb{R}/\mathbb{Z})^n$, let $D(T)$ denote the $L^\infty$-distance from $T$ to the point $(1/2, \ldots, 1/2)$. For a subtorus $U \subseteq (\mathbb{R}/\mathbb{Z})^n$, define $\mathcal{S}_1(U)$, the Lonely Runner spectrum relative to $U$, to be the set of all values of $D(T)$ as $T$ ranges over the $1$-dimensional subtori of $U$ not contained in the union of the coordinate hyperplanes of $(\mathbb{R}/\mathbb{Z})^n$. The relative spectrum $\mathcal{S}_1((\mathbb{R}/\mathbb{Z})^n)$ is the ordinary Lonely Runner spectrum that has been studied previously.
Giri and the second author recently showed that the relative spectra $\mathcal{S}_1(U)$ for $2$-dimensional subtori $U \subseteq (\mathbb{R}/\mathbb{Z})^n$ essentially govern the accumulation points of the Lonely Runner spectrum $\mathcal{S}_1((\mathbb{R}/\mathbb{Z})^n)$. In the present work, we prove that such relative spectra $\mathcal{S}_1(U)$ have a very rigid arithmetic structure, and that one can explicitly find a complete characterization of each such relative spectrum with a finite calculation; carrying out this calculation for a few specific examples sheds light on previous constructions in the literature on the Lonely Runner Problem.
Improvements on Permutation Reconstruction from Minors

We study the reconstruction problem of permutation sequences from their $k$-minors, which are subsequences of length $k$ with entries renumbered by $1,2,\ldots,k$ preserving order. We prove that the minimum number $k$ such that any permutation of length $n$ can be reconstructed from the multiset of its $k$-minors is between $\exp{(Ω(\sqrt{\ln n}))}$ and $O(\sqrt{n\ln n})$. These results imply better bounds of a well-studied parameter $N_d$, which is the smallest number such that any permutation of length $n\ge N_d$ can be reconstructed by its $(n-d)$-minors. The new bounds are $ d+\exp(Ω(\sqrt{\ln d}))<N_d<d+O(\sqrt{d\ln d})$ asymptotically, and the previous bounds were $d+\log_2 d<N_d<d^2/4+2d+4$.
Tiling randomly perturbed bipartite graphs
A perfect $H$-tiling in a graph $G$ is a collection of vertex-disjoint copies of a graph $H$ in $G$ that covers all vertices of $G$. Motivated by papers of Bush and Zhao and of Balogh, Treglown, and Wagner, we determine the threshold for the existence of a perfect $K_{h,h}$-tiling of a randomly perturbed bipartite graph with linear minimum degree.
Regular subdivisions, bounds on initial ideals, and categorical limits
Several known constructions relate initial degenerations of projective toric varieties and Grassmannians to regular subdivisions of appropriate point configurations. We define a general framework which allows for partial generalizations of these constructions to arbitrary projective schemes (as well as their very affine parts). We associate a point configuration $A$ with any homogeneous ideal $I$. We obtain upper and lower bounds on every initial ideal of $I$, defining them in terms of the regular subdivision of $A$ given by the same weight. Furthermore, both bounds are interpreted categorically via (co)limits over the face poset of the subdivision. We also investigate when these bounds are exact, showing that the respective weights form a subfan in the secondary fan of $A$.

Let $α(G)$ denote the cardinality of a maximum independent set and $μ(G)$ be the size of a maximum matching of a graph $G=\left( V,E\right) $. If $α(G)+μ(G)=\left\vert V\right\vert $, then $G$ is a König-Egerváry graph, and $G$ is a $1$-König-Egerváry graph whenever $α(G)+μ(G)=\left\vert V\right\vert -1$. The corona $H\circ\mathcal{X}$ of a graph $H$ and a family of graphs $\mathcal{X}=\left\{ X_{i}:1\leq i\leq\left\vert V(H)\right\vert \right\} $ is obtained by joining each vertex $v_{i}$ of $H$ to all the vertices of the corresponding graph $X_{i},i=1,2,...,\left\vert V(H)\right\vert $.
In this paper we completely characterize graphs whose coronas are $k$-König-Egerváry graphs, where $k\in\left\{ 0,1\right\} $.

A Sidon set $M$ is a subset of $\mathbb{F}_2^t$ such that the sum of four distinct elements of $M$ is never 0. The goal is to find Sidon sets of large size. In this note we show that the graphs of almost perfect nonlinear (APN) functions with high linearity can be used to construct large Sidon sets. Thanks to recently constructed APN functions $\mathbb{F}_2^8\to \mathbb{F}_2^8$ with high linearity, we can construct Sidon sets of size 192 in $\mathbb{F}_2^{15}$, where the largest sets so far had size 152. Using the inverse and the Dobbertin function also gives larger Sidon sets as previously known. Each of the new large Sidon sets $M$ in $\mathbb{F}_2^t$ yields a binary linear code with $t$ check bits, minimum distance 5, and a length not known so far. Moreover, we improve the upper bound for the linearity of arbitrary APN functions.

The parameter $q(G)$ of an $n$-vertex graph $G$ is the minimum number of distinct eigenvalues over the family of symmetric matrices described by $G$. We show that all $G$ with $e(\overline{G}) = |E(\overline{G})| \leq \lfloor n/2 \rfloor -1$ have $q(G)=2$. We conjecture that any $G$ with $e(\overline{G}) \leq n-3$ satisfies $q(G) = 2$. We show that this conjecture is true if $\overline{G}$ is bipartite and in other sporadic cases. Furthermore, we characterize $G$ with $\overline{G}$ bipartite and $e(\overline{G}) = n-2$ for which $q(G) > 2$.
Stack-Sorting with Dotted-Pattern-Avoiding Stacks
In this paper, we introduce the dotted pattern-avoiding map $s_{\dotτ}$, which avoids the dotted pattern $\dotτ$ instead of descents as West's stack-sorting map $s$ does. We also extend the pattern-avoiding machine, which is composed of a $σ$ avoiding map and West's stack-sorting map $s$, to the dotted pattern-avoiding machine. In this paper, we prove the analogs of the classical results on West's stack sorting map for the length $2$ dotted pattern-avoiding maps. We end with several conjectures.

In this paper, we prove several new infinite families of Ramanujan--like congruences satisfied by the coefficients of the generating function $U_t(a,q)$ which is an extension of MacMahon's generalized sum-of-divisors function. As a by-product, we also show that, for all $n\geq 0$, $\overline{B}_3(15n+7)\equiv 0 \pmod{5}$ where $\overline{B}_3(n)$ is the number of almost $3$-regular overpartitions of $n$.

We establish new Murnaghan--Nakayama rules for symplectic, orthogonal and orthosymplectic Schur functions. The classical Murnaghan--Nakayama rule expresses the product of a power sum symmetric function with a Schur function as a linear combination of Schur functions. Symplectic and orthogonal Schur functions correspond to characters of irreducible representations of symplectic and orthogonal groups. Orthosymplectic Schur functions arise as characters of orthosymplectic Lie superalgebras and are hybrids of symplectic and ordinary Schur functions. We derive explicit formulas for the product of the relevant power-sum function with each of these functions, which can partly be described combinatorially using border strip manipulations. Our Murnaghan--Nakayama rules each include three distinct terms: a classical term corresponding to the addition of border strips to the relevant Young diagram, a term involving the removal of border strips, and a third term, which we describe both algebraically and combinatorially.

Let $S_n$ denote the set of permutations of $[n]$ and let $σ=σ_1\cdotsσ_n\in S_n$. For a subsequence $\{σ_{i_j}\}_{j=1}^k$ of $\{σ_i\}_{i=1}^n$ of length $k\ge2$, construct
the ``up/down'' sequence $V_1\cdots V_{k-1}$ defined by $$ V_j=\begin{cases} U,\ \text{if}\ σ_{i_j+1}-σ_{i_j}>0;\\ D,\ \text{if}\ σ_{i_j+1}-σ_{i_j}<0.\end{cases} $$ Consider now a fixed up/down pattern: $V_1\cdots V_l$, where $l\in\mathbb{N}$ and $V_j\in\{U, D\},\ j\in[l]$. Given a permutation $σ\in S_n$, consider the length of the longest subsequence of $σ$ that repeats this pattern.
For example, consider $l=3$ and $V_1V_2V_3=UUD$. Then for the permutation $342617985\in S_9$, the length of the longest subsequence that repeats the pattern $UUD$ is 7; it is obtained by 3461798 and 3461785.
The above framework includes two well-known cases. The pattern $U$ is the celebrated case of the longest increasing subsequence. The pattern $UD$ (or $DU$) is the case of the longest alternating subsequence. These have been studied both under the uniform distribution on $S_n$ as well as under the uniform distribution on those permutations in $S_n$ which avoid a particular pattern of length three.
In this paper, we consider the patterns $UUD$ and $UUUD$ under the uniform distribution on those permutations in $S_n$ which avoid the pattern $132$. We prove that the expected value of the longest increasing subsequence following the pattern $UUD$ is asymptotic to $\frac37n$ and the expected value of the longest increasing subsequence following the pattern $UUUD$ is asymptotic to $\frac4{11}n$. (For $UD$ (alternating subsequences) it is known to be $\frac12n$.) This leads directly to appropriate corresponding results for permutations avoiding any particular pattern of length three.
Principal minors of tree distance matrices
We prove that the principal minors of the distance matrix of a tree satisfy a combinatorial expression involving counts of rooted spanning forests of the underlying tree. This generalizes a result of Graham and Pollak, and refines a result of Graham and Lovász on the coefficients of the characteristic polynomial of the distance matrix. We also give such an expression for the case of trees with edge lengths. We use arguments motivated by potential theory on graphs. Our formulas can be expressed in terms of evaluations of Symanzik polynomials.
Componentwise linear symbolic powers of edge ideals and Minh's conjecture

In this paper, we study the componentwise linearity of symbolic powers of edge ideals. We propose the conjecture that all symbolic powers of the edge ideal of a cochordal graph are componentwise linear. This conjecture is verified for some families of cochordal graphs, including complements of block graphs and complements of proper interval graphs. As a corollary, Minh's conjecture is established for such families. Moreover, we show that $I(G)^{(2)}$ is componentwise linear, for any cochordal graph $G$.
Universal Polynomial $\mathfrak{so}$ Weight System
We introduce a universal weight system (a function on chord diagrams satisfying the $4$-term relation) taking values in the ring of polynomials in infinitely many variables whose particular specializations are weight systems associated with the Lie algebras $\mathfrak{so}(N)$, $\mathfrak{sp}(2M)$, as well as Lie superalgebras $\mathfrak{osp}(N|2M)$. We extend this weight system to permutations and provide an efficient recursion for its computation.
The construction for this weight system extends a similar construction for the universal polynomial weight system responsible for the Lie algebras $\mathfrak{gl}(N)$ and superalgebras $\mathfrak{gl}(N|M)$ introduced earlier by the second named author.
Maxima of the $Q$-index of 2 leaves-free graphs with given size
The $Q$-index of graph $G$ is the largest eigenvalue of the signless Laplacian matrix of $G$. Wang [Discrete Appl. Math. 356(2024)] proved the sharp upper bounds on the $Q$-index of leaf-free graphs with given size and characterized the corresponding extremal graphs. A graph is $2$ leaves-free if it has no two pendent vertices. In this paper, we give sharp upper bounds on the $Q$-index of 2 leaves-free graphs with given size and characterize the corresponding extremal graphs.
