Solution to a conjecture of Alon, Dębski, Grytczuk and Przybyło on fixed-cardinality arithmetic progressions
Fix a positive integer $n$, and put $B_d=\{d,2d,\ldots,nd\}$. Let $M_k(n)$ be the least integer $m$ for which one translate of each of $B_1,\ldots,B_k$ can be placed pairwise disjointly in $[m]$. We prove that, for every $\eps\in(0,1)$ and all sufficiently large $k$, one has $M_k(n)\le n\lceil(1+\eps)k\rceil$. Since the trivial counting bound gives $M_k(n)\ge nk$, it follows that $M_k(n)=(1+o(1))nk$ for every fixed $n$. This confirms a conjecture of Alon, Dębski, Grytczuk and Przybyło on prescribed-difference packings of fixed-cardinality arithmetic progressions.
Boolean lattice without small rainbow subposets
A Boolean lattice $\mathcal{B}_n=(2^X, \leq)$ is the power set of an $n$-element ground set $X$ equipped with inclusion relation. For two posets $\mathcal{P}$ and $\mathcal{Q}$, we say that $\mathcal{Q}$ contains an \emph{induced copy} of $\mathcal{P}$ if there exists an injection $f : \mathcal{P} \to \mathcal{Q}$ such that $f(X) \le f(Y)$ if and only if $X \le Y$ in $\mathcal{P}$. A $k$-coloring is exact if all colors are used at least once. For posets $\mathcal{Q}$ and $\mathcal{P}$, the \emph{Boolean Gallai-Ramsey number} $\operatorname{GR}_{k}(\mathcal{Q}:\mathcal{P})$ is defined as the smallest $n$ such that any exact $k$-coloring of the sets in $\mathcal{B}_n$ contains either a rainbow induced copy of $\mathcal{Q}$ or a monochromatic induced copy of $\mathcal{P}$ and the \emph{Boolean rainbow Ramsey number} $\operatorname{RR}(\mathcal{Q}:\mathcal{P})$ is defined as the smallest $n$ such that any coloring of the sets in $\mathcal{B}_n$ contains either a rainbow induced copy of $\mathcal{Q}$ or a monochromatic induced copy of $\mathcal{P}$. In this paper, we first study the structural properties of exact $k$-colorings of the sets in Boolean lattice without rainbow induced copy of small posets. As the application of these results, we give exact values and some bounds of Boolean Gallai-Ramsey numbers and Boolean rainbow Ramsey numbers, which improve a result of Chen, Cheng, Li, and Liu in 2020 and give an answer of a question proposed by Chang, Gerbner, Li, Methuku, Nagy, Patkós, and Vizer in 2022.

Gallai-Ramsey Numbers for $\ell$-Connected Graphs
Given a nonempty graph $G$, a collection of nonempty graphs $\cal{H}$, and a positive integer $k$, the Gallai-Ramsey number $\mathrm{gr}_k(G:\mathcal{H})$ is defined to be the minimum positive integer $n$ such that every exact $k$-edge-coloring of a complete graph $K_n$ contains either a rainbow copy of $G$ or a monochromatic copy of some element in $\mathcal{H}$. In this paper, we obtain some exact values and general lower and upper bounds for $\mathrm{gr}_k(G:\mathcal{F}^\ell)$, where $\mathcal{F}^\ell$ is the set of $\ell$-connected graphs and $G\in\{P_5, K_{1,3}\}$.
Ramsey numbers for partially-ordered sets
We say that a poset $Q$ contains a copy (resp.~an induced copy) of a poset $P$ if there is an injection $f : P \to Q$ such that for any $x,y \in P$, $f(x)\leq f(y)$ in $Q$ if (resp.~if and only if) $x\leq y$ in $P$. Let $\mathcal{Q}=\{Q_{n} : n\geq 1\}$ be a family of posets such that $Q_n\subseteq Q_{n+1}$ and $|Q_n|<|Q_{n+1}|$ for each $n$. For given $k$ posets $P_1, P_2, \dots , P_k$, the \emph{weak (resp.~strong) poset Ramsey number for $t$-chains} is the smallest number $n$ such that for any coloring of $t$-chains in $Q_n\in \mathcal{Q}$ with $k$ colors, say $1,2, \dots, k$, there is a monochromatic (resp.~induced) copy of the poset $P_i$ in color $i$ for some $1\leq i\leq k$. In this paper, we give several lower and upper bounds on the weak and strong poset Ramsey number for $t$-chains.

The $g$-good-neighbor diagnosability of product networks under the PMC model
Published • View PublicationBIB
The concept of neighbor connectivity originated from the assessment of the subversion of espionage networks caused by underground resistance movements, and it has now been applied to measure the disruption of networks caused by cascading failures through neighbors. In this paper, we give two necessary and sufficient conditions of the existance of $g$-good-neighbor diagnosability. We introduce a new concept called $g$-good neighbor cut-component number (gc number for short), which has close relation with $g$-good-neighbor diagnosability. Sharp lower and upper bounds of the gc number of general graphs in terms of the $g$-good neighbor connectivity is given, which provides a formula to compute the $g$-good-neighbor diagnosability for general graphs (therefore for Cartesian product graphs). As their applications, we get the exact values or bounds for the gc numbers and $g$-good-neighbor diagnosability of grid, torus networks and generalized cubes.
Constructing edge-disjoint Steiner trees in Cartesian product networks
Cartesian product networks are always regarded as a tool for ``combining'' two given networks with established properties to obtain a new one that inherits properties from both. For a graph $F=(V,E)$ and a set $S\subseteq V(F)$ of at least two vertices, \emph{an $S$-Steiner tree} or \emph{a Steiner tree connecting $S$} (or simply, \emph{an $S$-tree}) is a subgraph $T=(V',E')$ of $F$ that is a tree with $S\subseteq V'$. For $S\subseteq V(F)$ and $|S|\geq 2$, the {\it generalized local edge-connectivity} $λ(S)$ is the maximum number of edge-disjoint Steiner trees connecting $S$ in $F$. For an integer $k$ with $2\leq k\leq n$, the {\it generalized $k$-edge-connectivity} $λ_k(F)$ of a graph $F$ is defined as $λ_k(F)=\min\{λ(S)\,|\,S\subseteq V(F) \ and \ |S|=k\}$.In this paper, we give sharp upper and lower bounds for $λ_k(G\Box H)$, where $\Box$ is the Cartesian product operation, and $G,H$ are two graphs.

Euclidean Gallai-Ramsey Theory
In this paper, we introduce Euclidean Gallai-Ramsey theory, by combining Euclidean Ramsey theory and Gallai-Ramsey theory on graphs. More precisely, we consider the following problem: For an integer $r$ and configurations $K$ and $K'$, does there exist an integer $n_0$ such that for any $r$-coloring of the points of $n$-dimensional Euclidean space with $n \geq n_0$, there is a monochromatic configuration congruent to $K$ or a rainbow configuration congruent to $K'$? In particular, we give a bound on $n_0$ for some configurations $K$ and $K'$, such as triangles and rectangles. Those are extensions of ordinary Euclidean Ramsey theory where the purpose is to find a monochromatic configuration.

Some multivariable Rado numbers
The Rado number of an equation is a Ramsey-theoretic quantity associated to the equation. Let $\mathcal{E}$ be a linear equation. Denote by $\operatorname{R}_r(\mathcal{E})$ the minimal integer, if it exists, such that any $r$-coloring of $[1,\operatorname{R}_r(\mathcal{E})]$ must admit a monochromatic solution to $\mathcal{E}$. In this paper, we give upper and lower bounds for the Rado number of $\sum_{i=1}^{m-2}x_i+kx_{m-1}=\ell x_{m}$, and some exact values are also given. Furthermore, we derive some results for the cases that $\ell=m=4$ and $m=5, \ell=k+i \ (1\leq i\leq 5)$. As a generalization, the \emph{$r$-color Rado numbers} for linear equations $\mathcal{E}_1,\mathcal{E}_2,...,\mathcal{E}_r$ is defined as the minimal integer, if it exists, such that any $r$-coloring of $[1,\operatorname{R}_r(\mathcal{E}_1,\mathcal{E}_2,...,\mathcal{E}_r)]$ must admit a monochromatic solution to some $\mathcal{E}_i$, where $1\leq i\leq r$. A lower bound for $\operatorname{R}_r(\mathcal{E}_1,\mathcal{E}_2,...,\mathcal{E}_r)$ and the exact values of $\operatorname{R}_2(x+y=z,\ell x=y)=5k$ and $\operatorname{R}_2(x+y=z, x+a=y)$ was given by Lovász Local Lemma.

Gallai-Ramsey numbers involving a rainbow $4$-path
Published • View PublicationBIB
Given two non-empty graphs $G,H$ and a positive integer $k$, the Gallai-Ramsey number $\operatorname{gr}_k(G:H)$ is defined as the minimum integer $N$ such that for all $n\geq N$, every $k$-edge-coloring of $K_n$ contains either a rainbow colored copy of $G$ or a monochromatic copy of $H$. In this paper, we got some exact values or bounds for $\operatorname{gr}_k(P_5:H) \ (k\geq 3)$ if $H$ is a general graph or a star with extra independent edges or a pineapple.
Nordhaus-Guddum type results for the Steiner Gutman index of graphs
Published • View PublicationBIB
Building upon the notion of Gutman index $\operatorname{SGut}(G)$, Mao and Das recently introduced the Steiner Gutman index by incorporating Steiner distance for a connected graph $G$. The \emph{Steiner Gutman $k$-index} $\operatorname{SGut}_k(G)$ of $G$ is defined by $\operatorname{SGut}_k(G)$ $=\sum_{S\subseteq V(G), \ |S|=k}\left(\prod_{v\in S}deg_G(v)\right) d_G(S)$, in which $d_G(S)$ is the Steiner distance of $S$ and $deg_G(v)$ is the degree of $v$ in $G$. In this paper, we derive new sharp upper and lower bounds on $\operatorname{SGut}_k$, and then investigate the Nordhaus-Gaddum-type results for the parameter $\operatorname{SGut}_k$. We obtain sharp upper and lower bounds of $\operatorname{SGut}_k(G)+\operatorname{SGut}_k(\overline{G})$ and $\operatorname{SGut}_k(G)\cdot \operatorname{SGut}_k(\overline{G})$ for a connected graph $G$ of order $n$, $m$ edges and maximum degree $Δ$, minimum degree $δ$.
Gallai-Ramsey number for the union of stars
Published • View PublicationBIB
Given a graph $G$ and a positive integer $k$, define the \emph{Gallai-Ramsey number} to be the minimum number of vertices $n$ such that any $k$-edge coloring of the complete graph $K_n$ contains either a rainbow (all different colored) triangle or a monochromatic copy of $G$. In this paper, we obtain the exact value of the Gallai-Ramsey numbers for the union of two stars in many cases and bounds in other cases. This work represents the first class of disconnected graphs to be considered as the desired monochromatic subgraph.

Bounds for Gallai-Ramsey functions and numbers
For two graphs $G,H$ and a positive integer $k$, the \emph{Gallai-Ramsey number} $\operatorname{gr}_k(G,H)$ is defined as the minimum number of vertices $n$ such that any $k$-edge-coloring of $K_n$ contains either a rainbow (all different colored) copy of $G$ or a monochromatic copy of $H$. If $G$ and $H$ are both complete graphs, then we call it Gallai-Ramsey function. Fox and Sudakov proved $\operatorname{gr}_k(K_s,K_t)\leq s^{4kt}$. Alon et al. showed that $\operatorname{gr}_k(K_s,K_t)\leq (2s^3+4s^2)^{kt}$. In this paper, we prove that $\operatorname{gr}_k(K_s,K_t)\leq 2^{kt}s^{3kt}$ for $t\geq 47$. We also give better upper bounds for $\operatorname{gr}_k(G,H)$ when $G,H$ are some special graphs. In this paper, we derive some lower bounds for Gallai-Ramsey functions and numbers by Lovász Local Lemma.
Gallai Ramsey number for double stars
Given a graph $G$ and a positive integer $k$, the \emph{Gallai-Ramsey number} is defined to be the minimum number of vertices $n$ such that any $k$-edge coloring of $K_n$ contains either a rainbow (all different colored) copy of $G$ or a monochromatic copy of $G$. In this paper, we obtain general upper and lower bounds on the Gallai-Ramsey numbers for double stars $S(n,m)$, where $S(n,m)$ is the graph obtained from the union of two stars $K_{1,n}$ and $K_{1,m}$ by adding an edge between their centers. We also provide the sharp result in some cases.

Fractional matching preclusion number of graphs
The \emph{fractional matching preclusion number} of a graph $G$, denoted by $fmp(G)$, is the minimum number of edges whose deletion results in a graph that has no fractional perfect matchings. In this paper, we first give some sharp upper and lower bounds of fractional matching preclusion number. Next, graphs with large and small fractional matching preclusion number are characterized, respectively. In the end, we investigate some extremal problems on fractional matching preclusion number.
Ramsey and Gallai-Ramsey numbers for stars with extra independent edges

Given a graph $G$ and a positive integer $k$, define the \emph{Gallai-Ramsey number} to be the minimum number of vertices $n$ such that any $k$-edge coloring of $K_n$ contains either a rainbow (all different colored) triangle or a monochromatic copy of $G$. In this paper, we obtain general upper and lower bounds on the Gallai-Ramsey numbers for the graph $G = S_t^{r}$ obtained from a star of order $t$ by adding $r$ extra independent edges between leaves of the star so there are $r$ triangles and $t - 2r - 1$ pendent edges in $S_t^{r}$. We also prove some sharp results when $t = 2$.
Ramsey and Gallai-Ramsey number for wheels
Given a graph $G$ and a positive integer $k$, define the \emph{Gallai-Ramsey number} to be the minimum number of vertices $n$ such that any $k$-edge coloring of $K_n$ contains either a rainbow (all different colored) triangle or a monochromatic copy of $G$. Much like graph Ramsey numbers, Gallai-Ramsey numbers have gained a reputation as being very difficult to compute in general. As yet, still only precious few sharp results are known. In this paper, we obtain bounds on the Gallai-Ramsey number for wheels and the exact value for the wheel on $5$ vertices.

On the $g$-good-neighbor connectivity of graphs
Connectivity and diagnosability are two important parameters for the fault tolerant of an interconnection network $G$. In 1996, Fàbrega and Fiol proposed the $g$-good-neighbor connectivity of $G$. In this paper, we show that $1\leq κ^g(G)\leq n-2g-2$ for $0\leq g\leq \left\{Δ(G),\left\lfloor \frac{n-3}{2}\right\rfloor\right\}$, and graphs with $κ^g(G)=1,2$ and trees with $κ^g(T_n)=n-t$ for $4\leq t\leq \frac{n+2}{2}$ are characterized, respectively. In the end, we get the three extremal results for the $g$-good-neighbor connectivity.

On the $g$-extra connectivity of graphs
Connectivity and diagnosability are two important parameters for the fault tolerant of an interconnection network $G$. In 1996, Fàbrega and Fiol proposed the $g$-extra connectivity of $G$. A subset of vertices $S$ is said to be a \emph{cutset} if $G-S$ is not connected. A cutset $S$ is called an \emph{$R_g$-cutset}, where $g$ is a non-negative integer, if every component of $G-S$ has at least $g+1$ vertices. If $G$ has at least one $R_g$-cutset, the \emph{$g$-extra connectivity} of $G$, denoted by $κ_g(G)$, is then defined as the minimum cardinality over all $R_g$-cutsets of $G$. In this paper, we first obtain the exact values of $g$-extra connectivity of some special graphs. Next, we show that $1\leq κ_g(G)\leq n-2g-2$ for $0\leq g\leq \left\lfloor \frac{n-3}{2}\right\rfloor$, and graphs with $κ_g(G)=1,2,3$ and trees with $κ_g(T_n)=n-2g-2$ are characterized, respectively. In the end, we get the three extremal results for the $g$-extra connectivity.

In this paper, we obtain general upper and lower bounds on the Gallai-Ramsey numbers for fans $F_{m} = K_{1} + mK_{2}$ and prove the sharp result for $m = 2$ and for $m = 3$ with $k$ even.

Ramsey and Gallai-Ramsey numbers for two classes of unicyclic graphs
Published • View PublicationBIB
Given a graph $G$ and a positive integer $k$, define the \emph{Gallai-Ramsey number} to be the minimum number of vertices $n$ such that any $k$-edge coloring of $K_n$ contains either a rainbow (all different colored) triangle or a monochromatic copy of $G$. In this paper, we consider two classes of unicyclic graphs, the star with an extra edge and the path with a triangle at one end. We provide the $2$-color Ramsey numbers for these two classes of graphs and use these to obtain general upper and lower bounds on the Gallai-Ramsey numbers.
