Strong Pseudo Transitivity and Intersection Graphs
A directed graph $G=(V,E)$ is {\it strongly pseudo transitive} if there is a partition $\{A,E-A\}$ of $E$ so that graphs $G_1=(V,A)$ and $G_2=(V,E-A)$ are transitive, and additionally, if $ab\in A$ and $bc\in E $ implies that $ac\in E$. A strongly pseudo transitive graph $G=(V,E)$ is strongly pseudo transitive of the first type, if $ab\in A$ and $bc\in E$ implies $ac\in A$. An undirected graph is co-strongly pseudo transitive (co-strongly pseudo transitive of the first type) if its complement has an orientation which is strongly pseudo transitive (co-strongly pseudo transitive of the first type). Our purpose is show that the results in computational geometry \cite{CFP, Lu} and intersection graph theory \cite{Ga2, ES} can be unified and extended, using the notion of strong pseudo transitivity. As a consequence the general algorithmic framework in \cite{Sh} is applicable to solve the maximum independent set in $O(n^3)$ time in a variety of problems, thereby, avoiding case by case lengthily arguments for each problem. We show that the intersection graphs of axis parallel rectangles intersecting a diagonal line from bottom, and half segments are co-strongly pseudo transitive. In addition, we show that the class of the interval filament graphs is co-strongly transitive of the first type, and hence the class of polygon circle graphs which is contained in the class of interval filament graphs (but contains the classes of chordal graphs, circular arc, circle, and outer planar graphs), and the class of incomparability graphs are strongly transitive of the first type. For class of chordal graphs we give two different proofs, using two different characterizations, verifying that they are co-strongly transitive of the first type. We present some containment results.

Let $d\geq 3$ be a fixed integer, and a prime number $p$ such that $\gcd(p,d)=1$. Let $A$ be the adjacency matrix of a random $d$-regular directed graph on $n$ vertices. We show that as a random matrix in ${\mathbb F}_p$, \begin{equation} {\mathbb P}(\text{$A$ is singular in ${\mathbb F}_p$})\leq \frac{1+{\mathrm{o}}(1)}{p-1}, \end{equation} as $n$ goes to infinity. As a consequence, as a random matrix in $\mathbb R$, \begin{equation} {\mathbb P}(\text{$A$ is singular in $\mathbb R$})={\mathrm{o}}(1) \end{equation} as $n$ goes to infinity. This answers an open problem by Frieze [12] and Vu [29,30], for random $d$-regular bipartite graphs. The proof combines a local central limit theorem and a large deviation estimate.
Representaciones Circulares de Grafos Simples Conexos y el Rango Mínimo Semidefinido de un Delta Grafo
In this paper we give a technique to represent simple connected graphs by using Clockwise Circular Representations and we show its applications by calculating orthogonal representations of simple connected graphs which are essentials in matrix analysis and graph theory.
Partitioning transitive tournaments into isomorphic digraphs

In an earlier paper the first two authors have shown that self-complementary graphs can always be oriented in such a way that the union of the oriented version and its isomorphically oriented complement gives a transitive tournament. We investigate the possibilities of generalizing this theorem to decompositions of the complete graph into three or more isomorphic graphs. We find that a complete characterization of when an orientation with similar properties is possible seems elusive. Nevertheless, we give sufficient conditions that generalize the earlier theorem and also imply that decompositions of odd vertex complete graphs to Hamiltonian cycles admit such an orientation. These conditions are further generalized and some necessary conditions are given as well.
Spanning trees with at most 2 branch vertices in claw - free graphs
In this article, we will prove that if $G$ is a connected claw-free graph and either $σ_6(G)\geq |G|-5$ or $σ_7(G)\geq |G|-2$, here $σ_k(G)$ is the minimmum degree sum of $k$ independent vertices in $G$, then $G$ has a spanning tree with at most two branch vertices.

Let $G$ be a simple $n$-vertex graph and $c$ be a colouring of $E(G)$ with $n$ colours, where each colour class has size at least $2$. We prove that $(G,c)$ contains a rainbow cycle of length at most $\lceil \frac{n}{2} \rceil$, which is best possible. Our result settles a special case of a strengthening of the Caccetta-Häggkvist conjecture, due to Aharoni. We also show that the matroid generalization of our main result also holds for cographic matroids, but fails for binary matroids.
Sequential sampling of junction trees for decomposable graphs

The junction-tree representation provides an attractive structural property for organizing a decomposable graph. In this study, we present two novel stochastic algorithms, which we call the junction-tree expander and junction-tree collapser for sequential sampling of junction trees for decomposable graphs. We show that recursive application of the junction-tree expander, expanding incrementally the underlying graph with one vertex at a time, has full support on the space of junction trees with any given number of underlying vertices. On the other hand, the junction-tree collapser provides a complementary operation for removing vertices in the underlying decomposable graph of a junction tree, while maintaining the junction tree property. A direct application of our suggested algorithms is demonstrated in a sequential-Monte-Carlo setting designed for sampling from distributions on spaces of decomposable graphs. Numerical studies illustrate the utility of the proposed algorithms for combinatorial computations on decomposable graphs and junction trees. All the methods proposed in the paper are implemented in the Python library trilearn.

The minrank over a field $\mathbb{F}$ of a graph $G$ on the vertex set $\{1,2,\ldots,n\}$ is the minimum possible rank of a matrix $M \in \mathbb{F}^{n \times n}$ such that $M_{i,i} \neq 0$ for every $i$, and $M_{i,j}=0$ for every distinct non-adjacent vertices $i$ and $j$ in $G$. For an integer $n$, a graph $H$, and a field $\mathbb{F}$, let $g(n,H,\mathbb{F})$ denote the maximum possible minrank over $\mathbb{F}$ of an $n$-vertex graph whose complement contains no copy of $H$. In this paper we study this quantity for various graphs $H$ and fields $\mathbb{F}$. For finite fields, we prove by a probabilistic argument a general lower bound on $g(n,H,\mathbb{F})$, which yields a nearly tight bound of $Ω(\sqrt{n}/\log n)$ for the triangle $H=K_3$. For the real field, we prove by an explicit construction that for every non-bipartite graph $H$, $g(n,H,\mathbb{R}) \geq n^δ$ for some $δ= δ(H)>0$. As a by-product of this construction, we disprove a conjecture of Codenotti, Pudlák, and Resta. The results are motivated by questions in information theory, circuit complexity, and geometry.

Balancedly splittable Hadamard matrices are introduced and studied. A connection is made to the Hadamard diagonalizable strongly regular graphs, maximal equiangular lines set, and unbiased Hadamard matrices. Several construction methods are presented. As an application, commutative association schemes of 4, 5, and 6 classes are constructed.

We obtain a new weak Hilton-Milner type result for intersecting families of $k$-spaces in $\mathbb{F}_q^{2k}$, which improves several known results. In particular the chromatic number of the $q$-Kneser graph $qK_{n:k}$ was previously known for $n > 2k$ (except for $n=2k+1$ and $q=2$) or $k < q \log q - q$. Our result determines the chromatic number of $qK_{2k:k}$ for $q \geq 5$, so that the only remaining open cases are $(n, k) = (2k, k)$ with $q \in \{ 2, 3, 4 \}$ and $(n, k) = (2k+1, k)$ with $q = 2$.
Strong geodetic problem on complete multipartite graphs
The strong geodetic problem is to find the smallest number of vertices such that by fixing one shortest path between each pair, all vertices of the graph are covered. In this paper we study the strong geodetic problem on complete bipartite graphs; in particular, we discuss its asymptotic behavior. Some results for complete multipartite graphs are also derived. Finally, we prove that the strong geodetic problem restricted to (general) bipartite graphs is NP-complete.
Partial correlation hypersurfaces in Gaussian graphical models

We derive a combinatorial sufficient condition for a partial correlation hypersurface in the parameter space of a directed Gaussian graphical model to be nonsingular, and speculate on whether this condition can be used in algorithms for learning the graph. Since the condition is fulfilled in the case of a complete DAG on any number of vertices, the result implies an affirmative answer to a question raised by Lin-Uhler-Sturmfels-Bühlmann.

Let $G=(V,E)$ be a simple connected graph. A matching of $G$ is a set of disjoint edges of $G$. For every $n, m\in\mathbb{N}$, the $n$-subdivision of $G$ is a simple graph $G^{\frac{1}{n}}$ which is constructed by replacing each edge of $G$ with a path of length $n$ and the $m$th power of $G$, denoted by $G^m$, is a graph with the same vertex set as $G$ such that two vertices are adjacent in $G^m$ if and only if their distance is at most $m$ in $G$. The $m^{th}$ power of the $n$-subdivision of $G$ has been introduced as a fractional power of $G$ and is denoted by $G^{\frac{m}{n}}$. In this paper, we study some parameters related to matching of the natural and the fractional powers of some specific graphs. Also we study these parameters for power of graphs that are importance of in Chemistry.

We prove that, for any $t\ge 3$, there exists a constant $c=c(t)>0$ such that any $d$-regular $n$-vertex graph with the second largest eigenvalue in absolute value~$λ$ satisfying $λ\le c d^{t-1}/n^{t-2}$ contains vertex-disjoint copies of $K_t$ covering all but at most $n^{1-1/(8t^4)}$ vertices. This provides further support for the conjecture of Krivelevich, Sudakov and Szábo [\emph{Triangle factors in sparse pseudo-random graphs}, Combinatorica \textbf{24} (2004), pp.~403--426] that $(n,d,λ)$-graphs with $n\in 3\mathbb{N}$ and $λ\leq cd^{2}/n$ for a suitably small absolute constant~$c>0$ contain triangle-factors.
The lemniscate tree of a random polynomial

To each generic complex polynomial $p(z)$ there is associated a labeled binary tree (here referred to as a "lemniscate tree") that encodes the topological type of the graph of $|p(z)|$. The branching structure of the lemniscate tree is determined by the configuration (i.e., arrangement in the plane) of the singular components of those level sets $|p(z)|=t$ passing through a critical point.
In this paper, we address the question "How many branches appear in a typical lemniscate tree?" We answer this question first for a lemniscate tree sampled uniformly from the combinatorial class and second for the lemniscate tree arising from a random polynomial generated by i.i.d. zeros. From a more general perspective, these results take a first step toward a probabilistic treatment (within a specialized setting) of Arnold's program of enumerating algebraic Morse functions.
Lagrangian subspaces, delta-matroids and four-term relations

Finite order invariants (Vassiliev invariants) of knots are expressed in terms of weight systems, that is, functions on chord diagrams satisfying the four-term relations. Weight systems have graph analogues, so-called $4$-invariants of graphs, i.e. functions on graphs that satisfy the four-term relations for graphs. Each $4$-invariant determines a weight system. The notion of weight system is naturally generalized for the case of embedded graphs with an arbitrary number of vertices. Such embedded graphs correspond to links; to each component of a link there corresponds a vertex of an embedded graph. Recently, two approaches have been suggested to extend the notion of $4$-invariants of graphs to the case of combinatorial structures corresponding to embedded graphs with an arbitrary number of vertices. The first approach is due to V.~Kleptsyn and E.~Smirnov, who considered functions on Lagrangian subspaces in a $2n$-dimensional space over $\mathbb{F}_2$ endowed with a standard symplectic form and introduced four-term relations for them. On the other hand, the second approach, the one due to Zhukov and Lando, suggests four-term relations for functions on binary delta-matroids. In this paper, we prove that the two approaches are equivalent.

We characterize all graphs for which there are eigenvectors of the graph Laplacian having all their components in {-1,+1} or {-1,0,+ 1}. Graphs having eigenvectors with components in {-1,+1} are called bivalent and are shown to be the regular bipartite graphs and their extensions obtained by adding edges between vertices with the same value for the given eigenvector. Graphs with eigenvectors with components in {-1,0,+ 1} are called trivalent and are shown to be soft-regular graphs -graphs such that vertices associated with non-zero components have the same degree- and their extensions via some transformations.
Packing spanning partition-connected subgraphs with small degrees
Let $G$ be a graph with $X\subseteq V(G)$ and let $l$ be an intersecting supermodular subadditive integer-valued function on subsets of $V(G)$. The graph $G$ is said to be $l$-partition-connected, if for every partition $P$ of $V(G)$, $e_G(P)\ge \sum_{A\in P} l(A)-l(V(G))$, where $e_G(P)$ denotes the number of edges of $G$ joining different parts of $P$. Let $λ\in [0,1]$ be a real number and let $η$ be a real function on $X$. In this paper, we show that if $G$ is $l$-partition-connected and for all $S\subseteq X$, $$Θ_l(G \setminus S) \le \sum_{v\in S} (η(v) -2l(v))+l(V(G))+l(S)-λ(e_G(S))+l(S)),$$ then $G$ has an $l$-partition-connected spanning subgraph $H$ such that for each vertex $v\in X$, $d_H(v)\le \lceil η(v) -λl(v) \rceil $, where $e_G(S)$ denotes the number of edges of $G$ with both ends in $S$ and $Θ_l(G \setminus S)$ denotes the maximum number of all $\sum_{A\in P} l(A)-e_{G\setminus S}(P)$ taken over all partitions $P$ of $V(G)\setminus S$. Finally, we show that if $H$ is an $(l_1+\cdots +l_m)$-partition-connected graph, then it can be decomposed into $m$ edge-disjoint spanning subgraphs $H_1,\ldots, H_m$ such that every graph $H_i$ is $l_i$-partition-connected, where $l_1, l_2,\ldots, l_m$ are $m$ intersecting supermodular subadditive integer-valued functions on subsets of $V(H)$. These results generalize several known results.

Let $G$ be a simple graph. The signless Laplacian spread of $G$ is defined as the maximum distance of pairs of its signless Laplacian eigenvalues. This paper establishes some new bounds, both lower and upper, for the signless Laplacian spread. Several of these bounds depend on invariant parameters of the graph. We also use a minmax principle to find several lower bounds for this spectral invariant.
