We provide a construction for the kromatic symmetric function $\overline{X}_G$ of a graph introduced by Crew, Pechenik, and Spirkl using combinatorial (linearly compact) Hopf algebras. As an application, we show that $\overline{X}_G$ has a positive expansion into multifundamental quasisymmetric functions. We also study two related quasisymmetric $q$-analogues of $\overline{X}_G$, which are $K$-theoretic generalizations of the quasisymmetric chromatic function of Shareshian and Wachs. We classify exactly when one of these analogues is symmetric. For the other, we derive a positive expansion into symmetric Grothendieck functions when $G$ is the incomparability graph of a natural unit interval order.

In this work we study conditional monotone cumulants and additive convolution in the shuffle-algebraic approach to non-commutative probability. We describe c-monotone cumulants as an infinitesimal character and identify the c-monotone additive convolution as an associative operation in the set of pairs of characters in the dual of a double tensor Hopf algebra. In this algebraic framework, we understand previous results on c-monotone cumulants and prove a combinatorial formula that relates c-free and c-monotone cumulants. We also identify the notion of $t$-Boolean cumulants in the shuffle-algebraic approach and introduce the corresponding notion of $t$-monotone cumulants as a particular case of c-monotone cumulants.
Polynomial realizations of natural Hopf algebras of nonsymmetric operads
The natural Hopf algebra $\mathcal{N} \mathcal{O}$ of an operad $\mathcal{O}$ is a Hopf algebra whose bases are indexed by some words on $\mathcal{O}$. We introduce new bases of these Hopf algebras deriving from free operads via new lattice structures on their basis elements. We construct polynomial realizations of $\mathcal{N} \mathcal{O}$ by using alphabets of variables endowed with unary and binary relations. By specializing our polynomial realizations, we discover links between $\mathcal{N} \mathcal{O}$ and the Hopf algebra of word quasi-symmetric functions of Hivert, the decorated versions of the Connes-Kreimer Hopf algebra of Foissy, the Faà di Bruno Hopf algebra and its deformations, and the noncommutative multi-symmetric functions Hopf algebras of Novelli and Thibon.
Discovering product and coproduct Rules for Bases of ${\textsf {QSym}}_F$ through Supercharacters
In this paper, we establish product and coproduct rules for three bases of the Hopf algebra $\textsf{QSym}_F$ of quasisymmetric functions over $F$, with $F$ being either $\mathbb{C}(q,t)$ or $\mathbb{C}(q)$. These results are derived through the categorizations of $\textsf{QSym}_{\mathbb{C}}$ obtained by utilizing the normal lattice supercharacter theories. Firstly, we deal with a basis $\{\mathcal{D}_α(q,t) \mid α\in \textsf{Comp}\}$ of $\textsf{QSym}_{\mathbb{C}(q,t)}$, where $\textsf{Comp}$ denotes the set of all compositions. This basis is obtained from the direct sum of specific supercharacter function spaces and consists of superclass identifier functions. Upon appropriate specializations of $q$ and $t$, it yields notable bases of $\textsf{QSym}_{\mathbb{C}}$ and $\textsf{QSym}_{\mathbb{C}(q)}$, including enriched $q$-monomial quasisymmetric functions introduced by Grinberg and Vassilieva. Secondly, we deal with the basis $\{G_α(q) \mid α\in \textsf{Comp}\}$ of $\textsf{QSym}_{\mathbb{C}(q)}$, where $G_α(q)$ represents the quasisymmetric Hall-Littlewood function introduced by Hivert. Our product rule is new, whereas our coproduct rule turns out to be equivalent to the existing coproduct rule of Hivert. Finally, we consider a basis $\{M_α(q) \mid α\in \textsf{Comp}\}$ of $\textsf{QSym}_{\mathbb{C}(q)}$, where $M_α(q)$ is a $q$-analogue of the monomial quasisymmetric function.
Schröder trees, antipode formulas and non-commutative probability
We obtain a cancellation-free formula, represented in terms of Schröder trees, for the antipode in the double tensor Hopf algebra introduced by Ebrahimi-Fard and Patras. We apply the antipode formula in the context of non-commutative probability and recover cumulant-moment formulas as well as a new expression for Anshelevich's free Wick polynomials in terms of Schröder trees.

We give a framework for growth models on posets which simultaneously generalizes the Classical Sequential Growth models for posets from causal set theory and the tree growth models of natural growth and simple tree classes, the latter of which also appear as solutions of combinatorial Dyson-Schwinger equations in quantum field theory. We prove which cases of the Classical Sequential Growth models give subHopf algebras of the Hopf algebra of posets, in analogy to a characterization due to Foissy in the Dyson-Schwinger case. We find a family of generating sets for the Connes-Moscovici Hopf algebra.
Combinatorics of the Permutahedra, Associahedra, and Friends
I present an overview of the research I have conducted for the past ten years in algebraic, bijective, enumerative, and geometric combinatorics. The two main objects I have studied are the permutahedron and the associahedron as well as the two partial orders they are related to: the weak order on permutations and the Tamari lattice. This document contains a general introduction (Chapters 1 and 2) on those objects which requires very little previous knowledge and should be accessible to non-specialist such as master students. Chapters 3 to 8 present the research I have conducted and its general context. You will find:
* a presentation of the current knowledge on Tamari interval and a precise description of the family of Tamari interval-posets which I have introduced along with the rise-contact involution to prove the symmetry of the rises and the contacts in Tamari intervals;
* my most recent results concerning q, t-enumeration of Catalan objects and Tamari intervals in relation with triangular partitions;
* the descriptions of the integer poset lattice and integer poset Hopf algebra and their relations to well known structures in algebraic combinatorics;
* the construction of the permutree lattice, the permutree Hopf algebra and permutreehedron;
* the construction of the s-weak order and s-permutahedron along with the s-Tamari lattice and s-associahedron.
Chapter 9 is dedicated to the experimental method in combinatorics research especially related to the SageMath software. Chapter 10 describes the outreach efforts I have participated in and some of my approach towards mathematical knowledge and inclusion.
Shuffle Bases and Quasisymmetric Power Sums
The algebra of quasisymmetric functions QSym and the shuffle algebra of compositions Sh are isomorphic as graded Hopf algebras (in characteristic zero), and isomorphisms between them can be specified via shuffle bases of QSym. We use the notion of infinitesimal characters to characterize shuffle bases, and we establish a universal property for Sh in the category of connected graded Hopf algebras equipped with an infinitesimal character, analogous to the universal property of QSym as a combinatorial Hopf algebra described by Aguiar, Bergeron, and Sottile. We then use these results to give general constructions for quasisymmetric power sums, recovering four previous constructions from the literature, and study their properties.

We define a new pair of dual bases that generalize the immaculate and dual immaculate bases to the colored algebras $QSym_A$ and $NSym_A$. The colored dual immaculate functions are defined combinatorially via tableaux, and we present results on their Hopf algebra structure, expansions to and from other bases, and skew functions. For the colored immaculate functions, defined using creation operators, we study expansions to and from other bases and provide a right Pieri rule. This includes a combinatorial method for expanding colored immaculate functions into the colored ribbon basis that specializes to a new analogous result in the uncolored case. We use the same methods to define colored generalizations of the row-strict immaculate and row-strict dual immaculate functions with similar results.

Duchamp--Hivert--Thibon introduced the construction of a right $H_n(0)$-module, denoted as $M_P$, for any partial order $P$ on the set $[n]$. This module is defined by specifying a suitable action of $H_n(0)$ on the set of linear extensions of $P$. In this paper, we refer to this module as the poset module associated with $P$. Firstly, we show that $\bigoplus_{n \ge 0} G_0(\mathscr{P}(n))$ has a Hopf algebra structure that is isomorphic to the Hopf algebra of quasisymmetric functions, where $\mathscr{P}(n)$ is the full subcategory of $\textbf{mod-}H_n(0)$ whose objects are direct sums of finitely many isomorphic copies of poset modules and $G_0(\mathscr{P}(n))$ is the Grothendieck group of $\mathscr{P}(n)$. We also demonstrate how (anti-)automorphism twists interact with these modules, the induction product and restrictions. Secondly, we investigate the (type 1) quasisymmetric power sum expansion of some quasi-analogues $Y_α$ of Schur functions, where $α$ is a composition. We show that they can be expressed as the sum of the $P$-partition generating functions of specific posets, which allows us to utilize the result established by Liu--Weselcouch. Additionally, we provide a new algorithm for obtaining these posets. Using these findings, for the dual immaculate function and the extended Schur function, we express the coefficients appearing in the quasisymmetric power sum expansions in terms of border strip tableaux.
A Combinatorial Hopf Algebra on Partition Diagrams
We introduce a Combinatorial Hopf Algebra (CHA) with bases indexed by the partition diagrams indexing the bases for partition algebras. By analogy with the operation $H_α H_β = H_{α\cdot β}$ for the complete homogeneous basis of the CHA $ \textsf{NSym}$ given by concatenating compositions $α$ and $β$, we mimic this multiplication rule by setting $\textsf{H}_π \textsf{H}_ρ = \textsf{H}_{π\otimes ρ}$ for partition diagrams $π$ and $ρ$ and for the horizontal concatenation $π\otimes ρ$ of $ π$ and $ρ$. This gives rise to a free, graded algebra $\textsf{ParSym}$, which we endow with a CHA structure by lifting the CHA structure of $ \textsf{NSym}$ using an analogue, for partition diagrams, of near-concatenations of integer compositions. Unlike the Hopf algebra $\textsf{NCSym}$ on set partitions, the new CHA $\textsf{ParSym}$ projects onto $\textsf{NSym}$ in natural way via a ``forgetful'' morphism analogous to the projection of $\textsf{NSym}$ onto its commutative counterpart $\textsf{Sym}$. We prove, using the Boolean transform for the sequence $(B_{2n} : n \in \mathbb{N})$ of even-indexed Bell numbers, an analogue of Comtet's generating function for the sequence counting irreducible permutations, yielding a formula for the number of generators in each degree for $\textsf{ParSym}$, and we prove, using a sign-reversing involution, an evaluation for the antipode for $\textsf{ParSym}$. An advantage of our CHA being defined on partition diagrams in full generality, in contrast to a previously defined Hopf algebra on uniform block permutations, is given by how the coproduct operation we have defined for $\textsf{ParSym}$ is such that the usual diagram subalgebras of partition algebras naturally give rise to Hopf subalgebras of $\textsf{ParSym}$ by restricting the indexing sets of the graded components to diagrams of a specified form.

We show that the chronological removal of cycles from a walk on a graph, known as Lawler's loop-erasing procedure, generates a preLie co-algebra on the vector space spanned by the walks. In addition, we prove that the tensor and symmetric algebras of graph walks are graded Hopf algebras, provide their antipodes explicitly and recover the preLie co-algebra from a brace coalgebra on the tensor algebra of graph walks. Finally we exhibit sub-Hopf algebras associated to particular types of walks.
Hopf Algebra on Vincular Permutation Patterns
We introduce a new Hopf algebra that operates on pairs of finite interval partitions and permutations of equal length. This algebra captures vincular patterns, which involve specifying both the permutation patterns and the consecutive occurrence of values. Our motivation stems from linear functionals that encode the number of occurrences of these patterns, and we show that they behave well with respect to the operations of this Hopf algebra.
Logic and computation as combinatorics
The syntactic nature of logic and computation separates them from other fields of mathematics. Nevertheless, syntax has been the only way to adequately capture the dynamics of proofs and programs such as cut-elimination, and the finiteness and the atomicity of syntax are preferable for foundational aims as seen in Hilbert's program. Another issue is that a uniform basis for logic and computation has been missing, and this problem hampers a coherent view on them. For instance, formal proofs in proof theory are far from (ordinary) proofs of the validity of a formula in model theory. Our goal is to solve these fundamental problems by rebuilding central concepts in logic and computation such as formal systems, validity (in such a way that it coincides with the existence of proofs), cut-elimination and computability uniformly in terms of finite graphs based on game semantics. Unlike game semantics, however, we do not rely on anything infinite or extrinsic to the graphs. A key idea that enables our finitary, autonomous approach is the shift from graphs in game semantics to dynamic ones. The resulting combinatorics establishes a single, syntax-free, finitary framework that recasts formal systems admitting proofs with cuts, validity, the finest computational steps of cut-elimination and higher-order computability. This subsumes fully complete semantics of intuitionistic linear logic, which solves a problem open for thirty years, and even extends the full completeness to proofs with cuts. As a byproduct, our dynamic graphs give rise to Hopf algebras, which opens up new applications of algebras to logic and computation.
Noncommutative binomial theorem, shuffle type polynomials and Bell polynomials
In this paper we use the Lyndon-Shirshov basis to study the shuffle type polynomials. We give a free noncommutative binomial (or multinomial) theorem in terms of the Lyndon-Shirshov basis. Another noncommutative binomial theorem given by the shuffle type polynomials with respect to an adjoint derivation is established. As a result, the Bell differential polynomials and the $q$-Bell differential polynomials can be derived from the second binomial theorem. The relation between the shuffle type polynomials and the Bell differential polynomials is established. Finally, we give some applications of the free noncommutative binomial theorem including application of the shuffle type polynomials to bialgebras and Hopf algebras.
Hopf algebraic structures on hypergraphs and multi-complexes
Using the formalism of species and twisted objects, we introduce two structures of cointeracting bialgebras on hypergraphs, induced by two notions of induced sub-hypergraphs. We study the associated unique morphisms of cointeracting bialgebras from hypergraphs to the polynomial algebra in one indeterminate: in the first case, this gives the chromatic polynomial of a graph attached to the considered hypergraph. In the second case, we obtained Helgason's notion of chromatic polynomial of a hypergraph. We obtain Hopf-algebraic proves of results about the values of this chromatic polynomial in -1 or about its coefficients, with the help of the action of a monoid of characters. This allows to give multiplicity-free formulas for the antipodes of these objects, using various notions of acyclic orientations of hypergraphs. Mixing the two notions of induced sub-hypergraphs, we obtain a third Hopf algebra, firstly described by Aguiar and Ardila. We obtain negative results on the existence of a second coproduct making it a cointeracting bialgebra. Anyway, it is still possible to obtain a polynomial invariant from this structure, which is the chomatic polynomial described by Aval, Kharagbossian and Tanasa. We nally study Iovanov and Jaiung's Hopf algebra of multi-complexes, making it a cointeracting bialgebra which has for quotient one of the preceding cointeracting bialgebras of hypergraphs.
Balanced multiple q-zeta values

We introduce the balanced multiple q-zeta values. They give a new model for multiple q-zeta values, whose product formula combines the shuffle and stuffle product for multiple zeta values in a natural way. Moreover, the balanced multiple q-zeta values are invariant under a very explicit involution. Thus, all relations among the balanced multiple q-zeta values are conjecturally of a very simple shape. Examples of the balanced multiple q-zeta values are the classical Eisenstein series, and they also contain the combinatorial multiple Eisenstein series. The construction of the balanced multiple q-zeta values is done on the level of generating series. We introduce a general setup relating Hoffman's quasi-shuffle products to explicit symmetries among generating series of words, which gives a clarifying approach to Ecalle's theory of bimoulds. This allows us to obtain an isomorphism between the underlying Hopf algebras of words related to the combinatorial bi-multiple Eisenstein series and the balanced multiple q-zeta values.
Weight systems and invariants of graphs and embedded graphs
We describe recent achievements in the theory of weight systems, which are functions on chord diagrams satisfying so-called $4$-term relations. Our main attention is devoted to constructions of weight systems. The two main sources of these constructions that are discussed in the paper are invariants of intersection graphs of chord diagrams that satisfy $4$-term relations for graphs and metrized Lie algebras.
For the simplest nontrivial metrized Lie algebra $\mathfrak {sl}(2)$, we present recent results about the explicit form of generating functions for the values of the corresponding weight system on important families of chord diagrams. We also explain another recent result: construction of recurrence relations for computing the values of the $\mathfrak{gl}(N)$-weight system. These relations are based on M. Kazarian's extension of the $\mathfrak{gl}(N)$-weight system to arbitrary permutations.
Certain recent papers suggest an approach to extending weight systems and graph invariants to arbitrary embedded graphs, which is based on the study of the corresponding Hopf algebra structures; we describe this approach. Weight systems defined on arbitrary embedded graphs correspond to finite type invariants of links (multicomponent knots).
Hopf-algebraic structures on mixed graphs
We introduce two coproducts on mixed graphs (that is to say graphs with both oriented and unoriented edges), the first one by separation of the vertices into two parts, and the second one given by contraction and extractions of subgraphs. We show that, with the disjoint union product, this gives a double bialgebra, that is to say that the first coproduct makes it a Hopf algebra in the category of right comodules over the second coproduct. This structure implies the existence of a unique polynomial invariant on mixed graphs compatible with the product and both coproducts: we prove that it is the (strong) chromatic polynomial of Beck, Bogart and Pham.Using the action of the monoid of characters, we relate it to the weak chromatic polynomial, as well to Ehrhart polynomials and to a polynomial invariants related to linear extensions. As applications, we give an algebraic proof of the link between the values of the strong chromatic polynomial at negative values and acyclic orientations (a result due to Beck, Blado, Crawford, Jean-Louis and Young) and obtain a combinatorial description of the antipode of the Hopf algebra of mixed graphs.
Combinatorial Hopf species and algebras from preorder cuts
We introduce new concepts and viewpoints on combinatorial Hopf species and algebras. We give a category ${\rm \bf set_{\mathbb{N}}}$ whose objects are sets, and (dualizable) morphisms represented by matrices of non-negative integers. For a bimonoid species $(B,Δ, μ)$ in ${\rm \bf set_{\mathbb{N}}}$ we may then dualize the product $μ$ to get two intertwined coproducts $Δ, Δ^\prime$. We consider restriction species $\mathsf{S}$ over ${\rm \bf set_{\mathbb{N}}}$ accompanied by pairs of natural transformations $π_1, π_2 : \mathsf{S} \rightarrow {\rm Pre}$ to the species of preorders. A simple construction associates two comonoid species $Δ^1$ and $Δ^2$, and we investigate when they are intertwined. We get new Hopf algebras: i. choosing an arbitrary set of permutations without global descents, we get associated a quotient Hopf algebra of the Malvenuto-Reutenauer Hopf algebra of permutations avoiding this chosen set, ii. a Hopf algebra of pairs of parking filtrations, and iii. three Hopf algebras of pairs of preorders.
