The Briggs inequality for partitions and overpartitions
A sequence of $\{a_n\}_{n\ge 0}$ satisfies the Briggs inequality if \begin{align*} a_n^2(a_n^2-a_{n-1}a_{n+1})>a_{n-1}^2(a_{n+1}^2-a_na_{n+2}) \end{align*} holds for any $n\ge 1$. In this paper we show that both the partition function $\{p(n+N_0)\}_{n\geq 0}$ and the overpartition function $\{\overline{p}(n+\overline{N}_0)\}_{n\ge 0}$ satisfy the Briggs inequality for some $N_0$ and $\overline{N}_{0}$. Based on Chern's formula for $η$-quotients, we further prove that the $k$-regular partition function $\{p_k(n+N_{k})\}_{n\geq 0}$ and the $k$-regular overpartition function $\{\overline{p}_k(n+\overline{N}_k)\}_{n\ge 0}$ also satisfy the Briggs inequality for $2\le k\le 9$ and some $N_k,\overline{N}_{k}$.
Residue class biases in unrestricted partitions, partitions into distinct parts, and overpartitions
We prove specific biases in the number of occurrences of parts belonging to two different residue classes $a$ and $b$, modulo a fixed non-negative integer $m$, for the sets of unrestricted partitions, partitions into distinct parts, and overpartitions. These biases follow from inequalities for residue-weighted partition functions for the respective sets of partitions. We also establish asymptotic formulas for the numbers of partitions of size $n$ that belong to these sets of partitions and have a symmetric residue class bias (i.e., for $1\le a<m/2$ and $b=m-a$), as $n$ tends to infinity.
Separable integer partition classes and partitions with congruence conditions
In this article, we first investigate the partitions whose parts are congruent to $a$ or $b$ modulo $k$ with the aid of separable integer partition classes with modulus $k$ introduced by Andrews. Then, we introduce the $(k,r)$-overpartitions in which only parts equivalent to $r$ modulo $k$ may be overlined and we will show that the number of $(k,k)$-overpartitions of $n$ equals the number of partitions of $n$ such that the $k$-th occurrence of a part may be overlined. Finally, we extend separable integer partition classes with modulus $k$ to overpartitions and then give the generating function for $(k,r)$-modulo overpartitions, which are the $(k,r)$-overpartitions satisfying certain congruence conditions.

We give combinatorial interpretations of two residual cranks of overpartitions defined by Bringmann, Lovejoy and Osburn in 2009 analogous to the crank of partitions given by Andrews and the first author in 1988. As a consequence, we give new versions of their definitions without adjusted weights. Furthermore, we investigate the combinatorial interpretation of an $M_2$-crank of partitions without repeated odd parts and explore connections of these statistics with their companion rank counterparts and the tenth order mock theta functions of Ramanujan.
Over-Mahonian numbers: Basic properties and unimodality
In this paper, we introduce the concept of the over-Mahonian number, which counts the overlined permutations of length $n$ with $k$ inversions, allowing the first elements associated with the inversions to be independently overlined or not. We explore its properties and combinatorial interpretations through lattice paths, overpartitions, and tilings, and provide a combinatorial proof demonstrating that these numbers form a log-concave and unimodal sequence.

A cubic partition is an integer partition wherein the even parts can appear in two colors. In this paper, we introduce the notion of generalized cubic partitions and prove a number of new congruences akin to the classical Ramanujan-type. We emphasize two methods of proofs, one elementary (relying significantly on functional equations) and the other based on modular forms. We close by proving analogous results for generalized overcubic partitions.
Polynomials and algebraic curves related to certain binary and $b$-ary overpartitions
We begin by considering a sequence of polynomials in three variables whose coefficients count restricted binary overpartitions with certain properties. We then concentrate on two specific subsequences that are closely related to the Chebyshev polynomials of both kinds, deriving combinatorial and algebraic properties of some special cases. We show that the zeros of these polynomial sequences lie on certain algebraic curves, some of which we study in greater detail. Finally, we extend part of this work to restricted $b$-ary overpartitions for arbitrary integers $b\geq 2$.
Parity of the coefficients of certain eta-quotients, III: two special classes
We continue a series of papers studying the parity of families of eta-quotients, which provide implications for the parity of the partition function as well as an overarching conjecture on related $q$-series. The present article focuses on two classes. One consists of eta-quotients of the form $f_t^3/f_1$, a distinguished case of Andrews' singular overpartitions that has recently attracted attention among researchers. In addition, we investigate the parity of certain pure eta-powers $f_1^t$, appending new results to known density theorems.
An Overpartition Companion of Andrews and Keith's 2-colored $q$-series Identity
Andrews and Keith recently produced a general Schmidt type partition theorem using a novel interpretation of Stockhofe's bijection, which they used to find new $q$-series identities. This includes an identity for a trivariate 2-colored partition generating function. In this paper, their Schmidt type theorem is further generalized akin to how Franklin classically extended Glaisher's theorem. As a consequence, we obtain a companion to Andrews and Keith's 2-colored identity for overpartitions. These identities appear to be special cases of a much more general result.
Remarks on MacMahon's $q$-series
In his important 1920 paper on partitions, MacMahon defined the partition generating functions \begin{align*} A_k(q)=\sum_{n=1}^{\infty}\mathfrak{m}(k;n)q^n&:=\sum_{0< s_1<s_2<\cdots<s_k} \frac{q^{s_1+s_2+\cdots+s_k}}{(1-q^{s_1})^2(1-q^{s_2})^2\cdots(1-q^{s_k})^2},\\ C_k(q)=\sum_{n=1}^{\infty} \mathfrak{m}_{odd}(k;n)q^n&:=\sum_{0< s_1<s_2<\cdots<s_k} \frac{q^{2s_1+2s_2+\cdots+2s_k-k}}{(1-q^{2s_1-1})^2(1-q^{2s_2-1})^2\cdots(1-q^{2s_k-1})^2}. \end{align*} These series give infinitely many formulas for two prominent generating functions. For each non-negative $k$, we prove that $A_k(q), A_{k+1}(q), A_{k+2}(q),\dots$ (resp. $C_k(q), C_{k+1}(q), C_{k+2}(q),\dots$) give the generating function for the 3-colored partition function $p_3(n)$ (resp. the overpartition function $\overline{p}(n)$).
Combinatorial identities from an inhomogeneous Ising chain
We study a family of inhomogeneous Ising chain models along with an equivalent family of nearest neighbour particle systems. By the correspondence between the two families we prove identities of combinatorial significance relating to certain integer and Frobenius partitions. In particular, for certain parameter values we see that one of our identities relates to generating functions for overpartitions. Using the identities we give a surprising product form of the partition function for an Ising chain with homogeneous interaction and an inhomogeneous external field. We also use the connection between the Ising chain and particle system to find interesting long-range reversible dynamics for the particle system that do not have a product form stationary measure.
Lattice paths and Rogers--Ramanujan--Gordon type overpartitions
In this paper, we establish a connection between Rogers-Ramanujan-Gordon type overpartitions to lattice paths with four kinds of unitary steps. By establishing the bijective relationship between overpartitions and lattice paths, we demonstrate that the theorems provided by Chen, Sang and Shi can be formulated in the form of lattice paths. Subsequently, inspired by Andrews' work on parity in partition identities and its related implications, we impose parity constraints on lattice paths and present some novel discoveries. By leveraging the parity outcomes within lattice paths, we also revisit overpartitions to derive results pertaining to overpartitions with parity considerations.
Laguerre inequalities and determinantal inequalities for the finite difference of the partition functions
The paper aims to establish the Turán inequalities, the Laguerre inequalities (order $2$), and the determinantal inequalities (order $3$) for $Δp(n)$ and $Δ\bar{p}(n)$, where $Δf(n)$ is the first-order forward difference of a sequence $f(n)$. The functions $p(n)$ and $\bar{p}(n)$ denote the partition function and overpartition function, respectively. Conjectures for thresholds of Laguerre inequalities (order $m$) and positivity of $m$-order determinants are proposed, extending to $Δ^k p(n)$ and $Δ^k \bar{p}(n)$, with $1 \leq m \leq 11$ and $1 \leq k \leq 5$.
Density results for the parity of $(4k,k)$-singular overpartitions
The $(k,i)$-singular overpartitions, combinatorial objects introduced by Andrews in 2015, are known to satisfy Ramanujan-type congruences modulo any power of prime coprime to $6k$. In this paper we consider the parity of the number $\overline{C}_{k,i}(n)$ of $(k,i)$-singular overpartitions of $n$. In particular, we give a sufficient condition on even values of $k$ so that the values of $\overline{C}_{4k,k}(n)$ are almost always even. Furthermore, we show that for odd values of $k \leq 23$, $k\neq 19$, certain subsequences of $\overline{C}_{4k,k}(n)$ are almost always even.
An overpartition analogue of Bressoud conjecture for even moduli
In 1980, Bressoud conjectured a combinatorial identity $A_j=B_j$ for $j=0$ or $1$. In this paper, we introduce a new partition function $\overline{B}_0$ which can be viewed as an overpartition analogue of the partition function $B_0$. An overpartition is a partition such that the last occurrence of a part can be overlined. We build a bijection to get a relationship between $\overline{B}_0$ and $B_1$, based on which an overpartition analogue of Bressoud's conjecture for $j=0$ is obtained.
Exact formula for 1-lower run overpartitions
We are going to show an exact formula for lower $1$-run overpartitions. The generating function is of mixed mock-modular type with an overall weight $0.$ We will apply an extended version of the classical Circle Method. The approach requires bounding modified Kloosterman sums and Mordell integrals.

We prove general fomulas for the deviations of two overpartition ranks from the average. These formulas are in terms of Appell--Lerch series and sums of quotients of theta functions and can be used, among other things, to recover any of the numerous overpartition rank difference identities in the literature. We give two illustrations.
An Elementary Proof of a Conjecture of Saikia on Congruences for $t$--Colored Overpartitions

The starting point for this work is the family of functions $\overline{p}_{-t}(n)$ which counts the number of $t$--colored overpartitions of $n.$ In recent years, several infinite families of congruences satisfied by $\overline{p}_{-t}(n)$ for specific values of $t\geq 1$ have been proven. In particular, in his 2023 work, Saikia proved a number of congruence properties modulo powers of 2 for $\overline{p}_{-t}(n)$ for $t=5,7,11,13$. He also included the following conjecture in that paper: \newline \
%\newline \noindent Conjecture: For all $n\geq 0$ and primes $t$, we have \begin{eqnarray*} \overline{p}_{-t}(8n+1) &\equiv & 0 \pmod{2}, \\ \overline{p}_{-t}(8n+2) &\equiv & 0 \pmod{4}, \\ \overline{p}_{-t}(8n+3) &\equiv & 0 \pmod{8}, \\ \overline{p}_{-t}(8n+4) &\equiv & 0 \pmod{2}, \\ \overline{p}_{-t}(8n+5) &\equiv & 0 \pmod{8}, \\ \overline{p}_{-t}(8n+6) &\equiv & 0 \pmod{8}, \\ \overline{p}_{-t}(8n+7) &\equiv & 0 \pmod{32}. \end{eqnarray*} Using a truly elementary approach, relying on classical generating function manipulations and dissections, as well as proof by induction, we show that Saikia's conjecture holds for {\bf all} odd integers $t$ (not necessarily prime).
Some Separable integer partition classes
Recently, Andrews introduced separable integer partition classes and analyzed some well-known theorems. In this paper, we investigate partitions with parts separated by parity introduced by Andrews with the aid of separable integer partition classes with modulus $2$. We also extend separable integer partition classes with modulus $1$ to overpartitions, called separable overpartition classes. We study overpartitions and the overpartition analogue of Rogers-Ramanujan identities, which are separable overpartition classes.
Distribution of Andrews' Singular Overpartitions $\overline{C}_{p,1}(n)$
Andrews introduced the partition function $\overline{C}_{k, i}(n)$, called singular overpartition, which counts the number of overpartitions of $n$ in which no part is divisible by $k$ and only parts $\equiv \pm i\pmod{k}$ may be overlined. We study the parity and distribution results for $\overline{C}_{k,i}(n),$ where $k>3$ and $1\leq i \leq \left\lfloor\frac{k}{2}\right\rfloor$. More particularly, we prove that for each integer $\ell\geq 2$ depending on $k$ and $i$, the interval $\left[\ell, \frac{\ell(3\ell+1)}{2}\right]$ $\Big($resp.\ $\left[2\ell-1, \frac{\ell(3\ell-1)}{2}\right] \Big)$ contains an integer $n$ such that $\overline{C}_{k,i}(n)$ is even (resp.\ odd). Finally we study the distribution for $\overline{C}_{p,1}(n)$ where $p\geq 5$ be a prime number.
