On a two-color partition series and its companions
We study the two-color distinct-part series \(S_1(q)\), equivalently Andrews' generating function \(v_d(q)\) for strictly concave compositions, and its odd and even companions \(T_o(q)\) and \(T_e(q)\). We determine the coefficients of \(S_1(q)\) modulo \(4\) and obtain a complete criterion for the resulting Ramanujan-type progressions. For the even companion, we give a direct overpartition interpretation of its coefficients and show that two natural partition families are each counted by half of those coefficients. For the eta-normalized odd companion \(C(q)=(q;q)_\infty T_o(q)\), we prove a quintic self-similarity, derive exact vanishing relations and infinite sign changes for its coefficients, and show that \(c(n)\) can be nonzero only when \(24n+28\) is represented by \(x^2+3y^2\).
Weighted partitions with interval restrictions: exact formulas and a bivariate master identity
Let $a_2''(n)$ and $b_2''(n)$ be the signed partition functions introduced by Andrews and El Bachraoui for interval-restricted partitions whose parts greater than $1$ are controlled by the smallest even part and by the number of ones. We prove two conjectures for these functions. The first gives the generating function for $a_2''(n)$ as an elementary rational term plus a false theta series with periodic signs; the second asserts that the companion coefficients $b_2''(n)$ take only the values $-1,0,1,2$. The central structural result introduces an auxiliary variable $z$ recording the number of non-compulsory parts greater than $1$. We obtain closed forms for the two resulting generating functions and prove the master identity $(1+q^2)\mathcal B(z,q)-(1+q)\mathcal A(z,q)=-q^4/(1-q^3)$ using both analytic and combinatorial techniques. At $z=-1$, this identity, together with a Rogers--Fine evaluation, gives the false theta formula for $a_2''(n)$ and an explicit generating function for $b_2''(n)$. The latter formula implies the asserted coefficient range and leads to an exact coefficient description of $b_2''(n)$. We also include a direct Heine--Rogers--Fine proof of the false theta formula, ordinary and fixed-refinement consequences of the master identity, and the resulting quantum modular interpretation.
On Glaisher's Partition Theorem
Glaisher's theorem states that the number of partitions of $n$ into parts which repeat at most $m-1$ times is equal to the number of partitions of $n$ into parts which are not divisible by $m$. The $m=2$ case is Euler's famous partition theorem. Recently, Andrews, Kumar, and Yee gave two new partition functions $C(n)$ and $D(n)$ related to Euler's theorem. Lin and Zhang extended their result to Glaisher's theorem by generalizing $C(n)$. We generalize $D(n)$, prove an analogous partition identity for the $m=3$ case, and show that the general case is an example of an almost partition identity. We also provide a new series equal to Glaisher's product both in the finite and infinite cases.
Extending Andrews and Newman's refinement of the crank-mex theorem
The crank-mex theorem states that the number of integer partitions of $n$ with nonnegative crank equals the number with odd minimal excludant (mex). Andrews and M. Newman recently refined that result in terms of the number of parts greater than one. Here, we establish and expand a complementary result connecting the partitions with even mex, having fixed points, with negative crank, and with positive crank, all refined in terms of number of parts greater than one. We provide both analytic and combinatorial proofs.
On Euler's Theorem
Euler's theorem asserts that $A(n)=B(n)$ where $A(n)$ is the number of partitions of $n$ into distinct parts and $B(n)$ is the number of partitions of $n$ into odd parts. In this paper, it is proved that for $n>0$, \begin{align*} A(n)=B(n)=C(n+1)=\frac{1}{2}D(n+1), \end{align*} where $C(n)$ is the number of partitions of $n$ with largest part even and parts not exceeding half of the largest part are distinct, and $D(n)$ is the number of partitions of $n$ into non-negative parts wherein the smallest part appear exactly twice and no other parts are repeated.

We investigate some weighted integer partitions whose generating functions are double-series. We will establish closed formulas for these $q$-double series and deduce that their coefficients are non-negative. This leads to inequalities among integer partitions.
On a formula of the $q$-series $_{2k+4}φ_{2k+3}$ and its applications
In this paper we apply a formula of the very-well poised $_{2k+4}φ_{2k+3}$ to write a $k$-tuple sum of $q$-series as a linear combination of terms wherein each term is a product of expressions of the form $\frac{1}{(qy, qy^{-1};q)_\infty}$. As an application, we shall express a variety of sums and double sums of $q$-series as linear combinations of infinite products. Our formulas are motivated by their connection to overpartition pairs.
Rank, two-color partitions and Mock theta function
In this paper, we establish that the number of partitions of a natural number with positive odd rank is equal to the number of two-color partitions (red and blue), where the smallest part is even (say $2n$) and all red parts are even and lie within the interval $(2n,4n]$. This led us to derive a new representation for the third order mock theta function $f_3(q)$ and an analogue of the fundamental identity for the smallest part partition function Spt$(n)$, both of which are of significant interest in their own right. We also consider the odd smallest part version of the above two-color partition, whose generating function involves another third order mock theta function $φ_3(q)$.
Identities involving partitions with distinct even parts and $4$-regular partitions
It is well known that the number of partitions into distinct even parts equals the number of $4$-regular partitions. In this paper we prove identities relating certain restricted partitions into distinct even parts with restricted $4$-regular partitions.
Further study on MacMahon-type sums of divisors
This paper is devoted to the study of $$ U_t(a,q):=\sum_{1\leq n_1<n_2<\cdots<n_t}\frac{q^{n_1+n_2+\cdots+n_t}}{(1+aq^{n_1}+q^{2n_1})(1+aq^{n_2}+q^{2n_2})\cdots(1+aq^{n_t}+q^{2n_t})} $$ when $a$ is one of $0, \pm 1, \pm2$. The idea builds on our previous treatment of the case $a=-2$. It is shown that all these functions lie in the ring of quasi-modular forms. Among the more surprising findings is $$U_2(1,q)=\sum_{n\geq1} \frac{q^{3n}}{(1-q^{3n})^2}.$$
Hook lengths in self-conjugate partitions
In 2010, G.-N. Han obtained the generating function for the number of size $t$ hooks among integer partitions. Here we obtain these generating functions for self-conjugate partitions, which are particularly elegant for even $t$. If $n_t(λ)$ is the number of size $t$ hooks in a partition $λ,$ then for even $t$ we have $$\sum_{λ\in \mathcal{SC}} x^{n_t(λ)} q^{\vertλ\vert} = (-q;q^2)_{\infty} \cdot ((1-x^2)q^{2t};q^{2t})_{\infty}^{\frac{t}2}. $$ As a consequence, if $a_t^*(n)$ is the number of such hooks among the self-conjugate partitions of $n,$ then for even $t$ we obtain the simple formula $$ a_t^*(n)=t\sum_{j\geq 1} q^*(n-2tj), $$ where $q^*(m)$ is the number of partitions of $m$ into distinct odd parts. As a corollary, we find that $t\mid a_t^*(n),$ which confirms a conjecture of Ballantine, Burson, Craig, Folsom, and Wen.
Extensions of MacMahon's sums of divisors
In 1920, P. A. MacMahon generalized the (classical) notion of divisor sums by relating it to the theory of partitions of integers. In this paper, we extend the idea of MacMahon. In doing so we reveal a wealth of divisibility theorems and unexpected combinatorial identities. Our initial approach is quite different from MacMahon and involves rational function approximation to MacMahon-type generating functions. One such example involves multiple $q$-harmonic sums $$\sum_{k=1}^n\frac{(-1)^{k-1}\genfrac{[}{]}{0pt}{}{n}{k}_{q}(1+q^k)q^{\binom{k}{2}+tk}}{[k]_q^{2t} \genfrac{[}{]}{0pt}{}{n+k}{k}_{q}}=\sum_{1\leq k_1\leq\cdots\leq k_{2t}\leq n}\frac{q^{n+k_1+k_3\cdots+k_{2t-1}}+q^{k_2+k_4+\cdots+k_{2t}}}{[n+k_1]_q[k_2]_q\cdots[k_{2t}]_q}.$$
Linked partition ideals and a family of quadruple summations
Recently, $4$-regular partitions into distinct parts are connected with a family of overpartitions. In this paper, we provide a uniform extension of two relations due to Andrews for the two types of partitions. Such an extension is made possible with recourse to a new trivariate Rogers--Ramanujan type identity, which concerns a family of quadruple summations appearing as generating functions for the aforementioned overpartitions. More interestingly, the derivation of this Rogers--Ramanujan type identity is relevant to a certain well-poised basic hypergeometric series.

The dimension of an irreducible representation of $GL(n,\mathbb{C})$, $Sp(2n)$, or $SO(n)$ is given by the respective hook-length and content formulas for the corresponding partition. The first author, inspired by the Nekrasov-Okounkov formula, conjectured combinatorial interpretations of analogous expressions involving hook-lengths and symplectic/orthogonal contents. We prove special cases of these conjectures. In the process, we show that partitions of $n$ with all symplectic contents non-zero are equinumerous with partitions of $n$ into distinct even parts. We also present Beck-type companions to this identity. In this context, we give the parity of the number of partitions into distinct parts with odd (respectively, even) rank. We study the connection between the sum of hook-lengths and the sum of inversions in the binary representation of a partition. In addition, we introduce a new partition statistic, the $x$-ray list of a partition, and explore its connection with distinct partitions as well as partitions maximally contained in a given staircase partition.

Franklin's identity generalizes Euler's identity and states that the number of partitions of $n$ with $j$ different parts divisible by $r$ equals the number of partitions of $n$ with $j$ repeated parts. In this article, we give a refinement of Franklin's identity when $j=1$. We prove Franklin's identity when $j=1$, $r=2$ for partitions with fixed perimeter, i.e., fixed largest hook. We also derive a Beck-type identity for partitions with fixed perimeter: the excess in the number of parts in all partitions into odd parts with perimeter $M$ over the number of parts in all partitions into distinct parts with perimeter $M$ equals the number of partitions with perimeter $M$ whose set of even parts is a singleton. We provide analytic and combinatorial proofs of our results.
Schmidt-type theorems for partitions with uncounted parts
Schmidt's theorem is significantly generalized, to partitions in which periodic but otherwise arbitrary subsets of parts are counted or uncounted. The identification of such sets of partitions with colored partitions satisfying certain specifications may be a generally useful tool for establishing sum-product $q$-series identities, examples of which are given.
On the Parity of the Generalized Frobenius Partition Functions $φ_k(n)$

In his 1984 Memoir of the American Mathematical Society, George Andrews defined two families of functions, $φ_k(n)$ and $cφ_k(n),$ which enumerate two types of combinatorial objects which Andrews called generalized Frobenius partitions. As part of that Memoir, Andrews proved a number of Ramanujan--like congruences satisfied by specific functions within these two families. In the years that followed, numerous other authors proved similar results for these functions, often with a view towards a specific choice of the parameter $k.$ In this brief note, our goal is to identify an {\bf infinite} family of values of $k$ such that $φ_k(n)$ is even for all $n$ in a specific arithmetic progression; in particular, our primary goal in this work is to prove that, for all positive integers $\ell,$ all primes $p\geq 5,$ and all values $r,$ $0 < r < p,$ such that $24r+1$ is a quadratic nonresidue modulo $p,$
$$
φ_{p\ell-1}(pn+r) \equiv 0 \pmod{2}
$$ for all $n\geq 0.$
Our proof of this result is truly elementary, relying on a lemma from Andrews' Memoir, classical $q$--series results, and elementary generating function manipulations. Such a result, which holds for infinitely many values of $k,$ is rare in the study of arithmetic properties satisfied by generalized Frobenius partitions, primarily because of the unwieldy nature of the generating functions in question.

Let $\mathscr{S}$ denote the set of integer partitions into parts that differ by at least $3$, with the added constraint that no two consecutive multiples of $3$ occur as parts. We derive trivariate generating functions of Andrews--Gordon type for partitions in $\mathscr{S}$ with both the number of parts and the number of even parts counted. In particular, we provide an analytic counterpart of Andrews' recent refinement of the Alladi--Schur theorem.

The $k$-measure of an integer partition was recently introduced by Andrews, Bhattacharjee and Dastidar. In this paper, we establish trivariate generating function identities counting both the length and the $k$-measure for partitions and distinct partitions, respectively. The $2$-measure case for partitions extends a result of Andrews, Bhattacharjee and Dastidar.
