Let $\mathcal{H}$ be an $m$-uniform hypergraph, and let $\mathcal{A}(\mathcal{H})$ be the adjacency tensor of $\mathcal{H}$ which can be viewed as a system of homogeneous polynomials of degree $m-1$. Morozov and Shakirov generalized the traces of linear systems to nonlinear homogeneous polynomial systems and obtained explicit formulas for multidimensional resultants. Sun, Zhou and Bu introduced the Estrada index of uniform hypergraphs which is closely related to the traces of their adjacency tensors. In this paper we give formulas for the traces of $\mathcal{A}(\mathcal{H})$ when $\mathcal{H}$ contains cut vertices, and obtain results on the traces and Estrada index when $\mathcal{H}$ is perturbed under local changes. We prove that among all hypertrees with fixed number of edges, the hyperpath is the unique one with minimum Estrada index and the hyperstar is the unique one with maximum Estrada index.
Total orders on compact metric spaces and covering dimension
We prove that for a compact metric space the property of having finite covering dimension is equivalent to the existence of a total order with finite snake number.

The solution of Shareshian-Wachs conjecture by Brosnan-Chow linked together the cohomology of regular semisimple Hessenberg varieties and graded chromatic symmetric functions on unit interval graphs. On the other hand, it is known that unicellular LLT polynomials have similar properties to graded chromatic symmetric functions. In this paper, we link together the unicellular LLT polynomials and twin of regular semisimple Hessenberg varieties introduced by Ayzenberg-Buchstaber. We prove their palindromicity from topological viewpoint. We also show that modules of a symmetric group generated by faces of a permutohedron are related to a shifted unicellular LLT polynomial and observe the $e$-positivity of shifted unicellular LLT polynomials, which is established by Alexandersson-Sulzgruber in general, for path graphs and complete graphs through the cohomology of the twins.

In this paper, we construct a bijection from a set of bounded free Motzkin paths to a set of bounded Motzkin prefixes that induces a bijection from a set of bounded free Dyck paths to a set of bounded Dyck prefixes. We also give bijections between a set of bounded cornerless Motzkin paths and a set of $t$-core partitions, and a set of bounded cornerless symmetric Motzkin paths and a set of self-conjugate $t$-core partitions. As an application, we get explicit formulas for the number of ordinary and self-conjugate $t$-core partitions with a fixed number of corners.
Morse shellings out of discrete Morse functions

From the topological viewpoint, Morse shellings of finite simplicial complexes are {\it pinched} handle decompositions and extend the classical shellings. We prove that every discrete Morse function on a finite simplicial complex induces Morse shellings on its second barycentric subdivision whose critical tiles-or pinched handles-are in oneto-one correspondence with the critical faces of the function, preserving the index. The same holds true, given any smooth Morse function on a closed manifold, for any piecewise-linear triangulation on it after sufficiently many barycentric subdivisions.
On Hermitian Adjacency Matrices for Mixed Graphs

We study the spectra of mixed graphs about its Hermitian adjacency matrix of the second kind (i.e. N-matrix) introduced by Mohar [1]. We extend some results and define one new Hermitian adjacency matrix, and the entry corresponding to an arc from $u$ to $v$ is equal to the $k$-th( or the third) root of unity, i.e. $ω = cos(2π/k) + \textbf{i} \ sin(2π/k), k {\geq} 3$; the entry corresponding to an undirected edge is equal to 1, and 0 otherwise. In this paper, we characterize the cospectrality conditions for a mixed graph and its underlying graph. In section 4, we determine a sharp upper bound on the spectral radius of mixed graphs, and provide the corresponding extremal graphs.
Existence and construction of voting situations concordant with ranking patterns

Referring to a standard context of voting theory, and to the classic notion of voting situation, here we show that it is possible to observe any arbitrary set of elections' outcomes, no matter how paradoxical it may appear. On this purpose we use results, presented in a recent paper of us, that hinge on the concept of ranking pattern concordant with a probability model for non-negative random variables and on a related role of special load-sharing models. Our results here will be obtained by suitably extending those therein, and by converting them into the context of voting.
Dynamical Loop Equation

We introduce dynamical versions of loop (or Dyson-Schwinger) equations for large families of two--dimensional interacting particle systems, including Dyson Brownian motion, Nonintersecting Bernoulli/Poisson random walks, $β$--corners processes, uniform and Jack-deformed measures on Gelfand-Tsetlin patterns, Macdonald processes, and $(q,κ)$-distributions on lozenge tilings. Under technical assumptions, we show that the dynamical loop equations lead to Gaussian field type fluctuations.
As an application, we compute the limit shape for $(q,κ)$--distributions on lozenge tilings and prove that their height fluctuations converge to the Gaussian Free Field in an appropriate complex structure.

A Coxeter type classification of Dynkin type $\mathbb{A}_n$ non-negative posets
We continue the Coxeter spectral analysis of finite connected posets $I$ that are non-negative in the sense that their symmetric Gram matrix $G_I:=\frac{1}{2}(C_I + C_I^{tr})\in\mathbb{M}_{m}(\mathbb{Q})$ is positive semi-definite of rank $n\geq 0$, where $C_I\in\mathbb{M}_m(\mathbb{Z})$ is the incidence matrix of $I$ encoding the relation $\preceq_I$. We extend the results of [Fundam. Inform., 139.4(2015), 347--367] and give a complete Coxeter spectral classification of finite connected posets $I$ of Dynkin type $\mathbb{A}_n$. We show that such posets $I$, with $|I|>1$, yield exactly $\lfloor\frac{m}{2}\rfloor$ Coxeter types, one of which describes the positive (i.e., with $n=m$) ones. We give an exact description and calculate the number of posets of every type. Moreover, we prove that, given a pair of such posets $I$ and $J$, the incidence matrices $C_I$ and $C_J$ are $\mathbb{Z}$-congruent if and only if $\mathbf{specc}_I = \mathbf{specc}_J$, and present deterministic algorithms that calculate a $\mathbb{Z}$-invertible matrix defining such a $\mathbb{Z}$-congruence in a polynomial time.
Exceptional sequences in the derived category of a gentle algebra

In this paper, using the correspondence of gentle algebras and dissections of marked surfaces, we study full exceptional sequences in the perfect derived category $\mathsf{K^b(A)}$ of a gentle algebra $\mathsf{A}$. We show that full exceptional sequences in $\mathsf{K^b(A)}$ exist if and only if the associated marked surface has no punctures and has at least two marked points on the boundary. Furthermore, by using induction on cuts of surfaces, we characterise when an exceptional sequence can be completed to a full exceptional sequence. If the genus of the associated surface is zero then we show that the action of the braid group together with the grading shift on full exceptional sequences in $\mathsf{K^b(A)}$ is transitive. For the case of surfaces of higher genus, we reduce the problem of transitivity to the problem of the existence of certain sequences of pairs of exceptional objects. Finally, we interpret the duality of a full exceptional sequence induced by the longest element in the associated symmetric group using Koszul duality.
On the $k$-independence number of graph products

The $k$-independence number of a graph, $α_k(G)$, is the maximum size of a set of vertices at pairwise distance greater than $k$, or alternatively, the independence number of the $k$-th power graph $G^k$. Although it is known that $α_k(G)=α(G^k)$, this, in general, does not hold for most graph products, and thus the existing bounds for $α$ of graph products cannot be used. In this paper we present sharp upper bounds for the $k$-independence number of several graph products. In particular, we focus on the Cartesian, tensor, strong, and lexicographic products. Some of the bounds previously known in the literature for $k=1$ follow as corollaries of our main results.
Reflective Graphs, Ollivier curvature, effective diameter, and rigidity
We give a discrete Bonnet Myers type theorem for the effective diameter assuming positive Ollivier curvature. We prove that this diameter bound is attained if and only if the graph is a cocktail party graph, a Johnson graph, a halved cube, a Schläfli graph, a Gosset graph, or a cartesian product of the mentioned graphs with same Ollivier curvature. As a key step in the proof, we introduce the notion of reflective graphs as graphs such that for any two neighbors there exists a certain self-inverse automorphism mapping one neighbor to another. We classify these graphs as arbitrary cartesian products of the graphs mentioned before.

Let $x_1, \dots, x_n$ be points in a metric space and define the distance matrix $D \in \mathbb{R}^{n \times n}$ by ${D}_{ij} = d(x_i, x_j)$. The Perron-Frobenius Theorem implies that there is an eigenvector $v \in \mathbb{R}^n_{}$ with non-negative entries associated to the largest eigenvalue. We prove that this eigenvector is nearly constant in the sense that the inner product with the constant vector $\mathbb{1} \in \mathbb{R}^n$ is large $$ \left\langle v, \mathbb{1} \right\rangle \geq \frac{1}{\sqrt{2}} \cdot \| v\|_{\ell^2} \cdot \|\mathbb{1} \|_{\ell^2}$$ and that each entry satisfies $v_i \geq \|v\|_{\ell^2}/\sqrt{4n}$. Both inequalities are sharp.
Parking on the infinite binary tree

Let $(A_u : u \in \mathbb{B})$ be i.i.d.~non-negative integers that we interpret as car arrivals on the vertices of the full binary tree $ \mathbb{B}$. Each car tries to park on its arrival node, but if it is already occupied, it drives towards the root and parks on the first available spot. It is known that the parking process on $ \mathbb{B}$ exhibits a phase transition in the sense that either a finite number of cars do not manage to park in expectation (subcritical regime) or all vertices of the tree contain a car and infinitely many cars do not manage to park (supercritical regime). We characterize those regimes in terms of the law of $A$ in an explicit way. We also study in detail the critical regime as well as the phase transition which turns out to be "discontinuous".

László Fejes Tóth and Aladár Heppes proposed the following generalization of the kissing number problem. Given a ball in $\mathbb{R}^d$, consider a family of balls touching it, and another family of balls touching the first family. Find the maximal possible number of balls in this arrangement, provided that no two balls intersect by interiors, and all balls are congruent. They showed that the answer for disks on the plane is $19$. They also conjectured that if there are three families of disks instead of two, the answer is $37$. In this paper we confirm this conjecture.

An update on Haiman's conjectures

We revisit Haiman's conjecture on the relations between characters of Kazdhan-Lusztig basis elements of the Hecke algebra over the symmetric group. The conjecture asserts that, for purposes of character evaluation, any Kazhdan-Lusztig basis element is reducible to a sum of the simplest possible ones (those associated to so-called codominant permutations). When the basis element is associated to a smooth permutation, we are able to give a geometric proof of this conjecture. On the other hand, if the permutation is singular, we provide a counterexample.

Suppose $M$ and $N$ are positive integers and let $k = \gcd(M, N)$, $m = M/k$, and $n=N/k$. We define a symmetric function $L_{M,N}$ as a weighted sum over certain tuples of lattice paths. We show that $L_{M,N}$ satisfies a generalization of Mellit and Hogancamp's recursion for the triply-graded Khovanov--Rozansky homology of the $M,N$-torus link. As a corollary, we obtain the triply-graded Khovanov--Rozansky homology of the $M,N$-torus link as a specialization of $L_{M,N}$. We conjecture that $L_{M,N}$ is equal (up to a constant) to the elliptic Hall algebra operator $\mathbf{Q}_{m,n}$ composed $k$ times and applied to 1.

In this paper, we extend the rectangular side of the shuffle conjecture by stating a rectangular analogue of the square paths conjecture. In addition, we describe a set of combinatorial objects and one statistic that are a first step towards a rectangular extension of (the rise version of) the Delta conjecture, and of (the rise version of) the Delta square conjecture, corresponding to the case $q=1$ of an expected general statement. We also prove our new rectangular paths conjecture in the special case when the sides of the rectangle are coprime.
