We investigate combinatorial and algebraic aspects of the interplay between renormalization and monodromies for Feynman amplitudes. We clarify how extraction of subgraphs from a Feynman graph interacts with putting edges onshell or with contracting them to obtain reduced graphs. Graph by graph this leads to a study of cointeracting bialgebras. One bialgebra comes from extraction of subgraphs and hence is needed for renormalization. The other bialgebra is an incidence bialgebra for edges put either on- or offshell. It is hence related to the monodromies of the multivalued function to which a renormalized graph evaluates. Summing over infinite series of graphs, consequences for Green functions are derived using combinatorial Dyson--Schwinger equations.

The core of a finite-dimensional modular representation $M$ of a finite group $G$ is its largest non-projective summand. We prove that the dimensions of the cores of $M^{\otimes n}$ have algebraic Hilbert series when $M$ is Omega-algebraic, in the sense that the non-projective summands of $M^{\otimes n}$ fall into finitely many orbits under the action of the syzygy operator $Ω$. Similarly, we prove that these dimension sequences are eventually linearly recursive when $M$ is what we term $Ω^{+}$-algebraic. This partially answers a conjecture by Benson and Symonds. Along the way, we also prove a number of auxiliary permanence results for linear recurrence under operations on multi-variable sequences.
Poly-Cauchy numbers -- the combinatorics behind
We introduce poly-Cauchy permutations that are enumerated by the poly-Cauchy numbers. We provide combinatorial proofs for several identities involving poly-Cauchy numbers and some of their generalizations. The aim of this work is to demonstrate the power and beauty of the elementary combinatorial approach.
Component Edge Connectivity of Hypercube-like Networks

As a generalization of the traditional connectivity, the g-component edge connectivity cλg(G) of a non-complete graph G is the minimum number of edges to be deleted from the graph G such that the resulting graph has at least g components. Hypercube-like networks (HL-networks for short) are obtained by manipulating some pairs of edges in hypercubes, which contain several famous interconnection networks such as twisted cubes, Mobius cubes, crossed cubes, locally twisted cubes. In this paper, we determine the (g + 1)-component edge connectivity of the n-dimensional HL-networks.
Continuous Turán numbers
In this paper, we define a notion of containment and avoidance for subsets of $\mathbb{R}^2$. Then we introduce a new, continuous and super-additive extremal function for subsets $P \subseteq \mathbb{R}^2$ called $px(n, P)$, which is the supremum of $μ_2(S)$ over all open $P$-free subsets $S \subseteq [0, n]^2$, where $μ_2(S)$ denotes the Lebesgue measure of $S$ in $\mathbb{R}^2$. We show that $px(n, P)$ fully encompasses the Zarankiewicz problem and more generally the 0-1 matrix extremal function $ex(n, M)$ up to a constant factor. More specifically, we define a natural correspondence between finite subsets $P \subseteq \mathbb{R}^2$ and 0-1 matrices $M_P$, and we prove that $px(n, P) = Θ(ex(n, M_P))$ for all finite subsets $P \subseteq \mathbb{R}^2$, where the constants in the bounds depend only on the distances between the points in $P$.
We also discuss bounded infinite subsets $P$ for which $px(n, P)$ grows faster than $ex(n, M)$ for all fixed 0-1 matrices $M$. In particular, we show that $px(n, P) = Θ(n^{2})$ for any open subset $P \subseteq \mathbb{R}^2$. We prove an even stronger result, that if $Q_P$ is the set of points with rational coordinates in any open subset $P \subseteq \mathbb{R}^2$, then $px(n, Q_P) = Θ(n^2)$. Finally, we obtain a strengthening of the Kővari-Sós-Turán theorem that applies to infinite subsets of $\mathbb{R}^2$. Specifically, for subsets $P_{s, t, c} \subseteq \mathbb{R}^2$ consisting of $t$ horizontal line segments of length $s$ with left endpoints on the same vertical line with consecutive segments a distance of $c$ apart, we prove that $px(n, P_{s, t,c}) = O(s^{\frac{1}{t}}n^{2-\frac{1}{t}})$, where the constant in the bound depends on $t$ and $c$. When $t = 2$, we show that this bound is sharp up to a constant factor that depends on $c$.

Let $\mathbf{X}(n) \in \mathbb{R}^d$ be a sequence of random vectors, where $n\in\mathbb{N}$ and $d = d(n)$. Under certain weakly dependence conditions, we prove that the distribution of the maximal component of $\mathbf{X}$ and the distribution of the maximum of their independent copies are asymptotically equivalent. Our result on extremal independence relies on new lower and upper bounds for the probability that none of a given finite set of events occurs. As applications, we obtain the distribution of various extremal characteristics of random discrete structures such as maximum codegree in binomial random hypergraphs and the maximum number of cliques sharing a given vertex in binomial random graphs. We also generalise Berman-type conditions for a sequence of Gaussian random vectors to possess the extremal independence property.

Hidden diagonal integrability of $q$-Hahn vertex model and Beta polymer model

We study a new integrable probabilistic system, defined in terms of a stochastic colored vertex model on a square lattice. The main distinctive feature of our model is a new family of parameters attached to diagonals rather than to rows or columns, like in other similar models. Because of these new parameters the previously known results about vertex models cannot be directly applied, but nevertheless the integrability remains, and we prove explicit integral expressions for $q$-deformed moments of the (colored) height functions of the model. Following known techniques our model can be interpreted as a $q$-discretization of the Beta polymer model from arXiv:1503.04117 with a new family of parameters, also attached to diagonals. To demonstrate how integrability with respect to the new diagonal parameters works, we extend the known results about Tracy-Widom large-scale fluctuations of the Beta polymer model.

Given a finite set E and an operator sigma:2^{E}-->2^{E}, two subsets X,Y of the ground set E are cospanning if sigma(X)=sigma(Y) (Korte, Lovasz, Schrader; 1991). We investigate cospanning relations on violator spaces. A notion of a violator space was introduced in (Gartner, Matousek, Rust, Skovrovn; 2008) as a combinatorial framework that encompasses linear programming and other geometric optimization problems. Violator spaces are defined by violator operators. We introduce co-violator spaces based on contracting operators known also as choice functions. Let alpha,beta:2^{E}-->2^{E} be a violator operator and a co-violator operator, respectively. Cospanning characterizations of violator spaces allow us to obtain some new properties of violator operators, co-violator operators, and their interconnections. In particular, we show that uniquely generated violator spaces enjoy so-called Krein-Milman properties, i.e., alpha(beta(X))=alpha(X) and beta(alpha}(X))=beta(X) for every subset X of the ground set E.

From (secure) w-domination in graphs to protection of lexicographic product graphs
Let $w=(w_0,w_1, \dots,w_l)$ be a vector of nonnegative integers such that $ w_0\ge 1$. Let $G$ be a graph and $N(v)$ the open neighbourhood of $v\in V(G)$. We say that a function $f: V(G)\longrightarrow \{0,1,\dots ,l\}$ is a $w$-dominating function if $f(N(v))=\sum_{u\in N(v)}f(u)\ge w_i$ for every vertex $v$ with $f(v)=i$. The weight of $f$ is defined to be $ω(f)=\sum_{v\in V(G)} f(v)$. Given a $w$-dominating function $f$ and any pair of adjacent vertices $v, u\in V(G)$ with $f(v)=0$ and $f(u)>0$, the function $f_{u\rightarrow v}$ is defined by $f_{u\rightarrow v}(v)=1$, $f_{u\rightarrow v}(u)=f(u)-1$ and $f_{u\rightarrow v}(x)=f(x)$ for every $x\in V(G)\setminus\{u,v\}$. We say that a $w$-dominating function $f$ is a secure $w$-dominating function if for every $v$ with $f(v)=0$, there exists $u\in N(v)$ such that $f(u)>0$ and $f_{u\rightarrow v}$ is a $w$-dominating function as well. The (secure) $w$-domination number of $G$, denoted by ($γ_{w}^s(G)$) $γ_{w}(G)$, is defined as the minimum weight among all (secure) $w$-dominating functions.
In this paper, we show how the secure (total) domination number and the (total) weak Roman domination number of lexicographic product graphs $G\circ H$ are related to $γ_w^s(G)$ or $γ_w(G)$. For the case of the secure domination number and the weak Roman domination number, the decision on whether $w$ takes specific components will depend on the value of $γ_{(1,0)}^s(H)$, while in the case of the total version of these parameters, the decision will depend on the value of $γ_{(1,1)}^s(H)$.

Let $G$ be a simple graph with maximum degree $Δ(G)$. A subgraph $H$ of $G$ is overfull if $|E(H)|>Δ(G)\lfloor |V(H)|/2 \rfloor$. Chetwynd and Hilton in 1985 conjectured that a graph $G$ with $Δ(G)>|V(G)|/3$ has chromatic index $Δ(G)$ if and only if $G$ contains no overfull subgraph. The 1-factorization conjecture is a special case of this overfull conjecture, which states that for even $n$, every regular $n$-vertex graph with degree at least about $n/2$ has a 1-factorization and was confirmed for large graphs in 2014. Supporting the overfull conjecture as well as generalizing the 1-factorization conjecture in an asymptotic way, in this paper, we show that for any given $0<\varepsilon <1$, there exists a positive integer $n_0$ such that the following statement holds: if $G$ is a graph on $2n\ge n_0$ vertices with minimum degree at least $(1+\varepsilon)n$, then $G$ has chromatic index $Δ(G)$ if and only if $G$ contains no overfull subgraph.
A Combinatorial Approach to the Groebner Bases for Ideals Generated by Elementary Symmetric Functions

Previous work by Mora and Sala provides the reduced Groebner basis of the ideal formed by the elementary symmetric polynomials in $n$ variables of degrees $k=1,\dots,n$, $\langle e_{1,n}(x), \dots, e_{n,n}(x) \rangle$. Haglund, Rhoades, and Shimonozo expand upon this, finding the reduced Groebner basis of the ideal of elementary symmetric polynomials in $n$ variables of degree $d$ for $d=n-k+1,\dots,n$ for $k\leq n$. In this paper, we further generalize their findings by using symbolic computation and experimentation to construct the reduced Groebner basis for the ideal generated by the elementary symmetric polynomials in $n$ variables of arbitrary degrees.
The overfullness of graphs with small minimum degree and large maximum degree

Given a simple graph $G$, denote by $Δ(G)$, $δ(G)$, and $χ'(G)$ the maximum degree, the minimum degree, and the chromatic index of $G$, respectively. We say $G$ is \emph{$Δ$-critical} if $χ'(G)=Δ(G)+1$ and $χ'(H)\le Δ(G)$ for every proper subgraph $H$ of $G$; and $G$ is \emph{overfull} if $|E(G)|>Δ\lfloor |V(G)|/2 \rfloor$. Since a maximum matching in $G$ can have size at most $\lfloor |V(G)|/2 \rfloor$, it follows that $χ'(G) = Δ(G) +1$ if $G$ is overfull. Conversely, let $G$ be a $Δ$-critical graph. The well known overfull conjecture of Chetwynd and Hilton asserts that $G$ is overfull provided $Δ(G) > |V(G)|/3$. In this paper, we show that any $Δ$-critical graph $G$ is overfull if $Δ(G) - 7δ(G)/4\ge(3|V(G)|-17)/4$.

Our previous works presented zeta functions by the Konno-Sato theorem or the Fourier analysis for one-particle models including random walks, correlated random walks, quantum walks, and open quantum random walks. This paper introduces a new zeta function for multi-particle models with probabilistic or quantum interactions, called the interacting particle system (IPS). We compute the zeta function for some tensor-type IPSs.

Let $D$ be an oriented graph. The inversion of a set $X$ of vertices in $D$ consists in reversing the direction of all arcs with both ends in $X$. The inversion number of $D$, denoted by ${\rm inv}(D)$, is the minimum number of inversions needed to make $D$ acyclic. Denoting by $τ(D)$, $τ' (D)$, and $ν(D)$ the cycle transversal number, the cycle arc-transversal number and the cycle packing number of $D$ respectively, one shows that ${\rm inv}(D) \leq τ' (D)$, ${\rm inv}(D) \leq 2τ(D)$ and there exists a function $g$ such that ${\rm inv}(D)\leq g(ν(D))$. We conjecture that for any two oriented graphs $L$ and $R$, ${\rm inv}(L\rightarrow R) ={\rm inv}(L) +{\rm inv}(R)$ where $L\rightarrow R$ is the dijoin of $L$ and $R$. This would imply that the first two inequalities are tight. We prove this conjecture when ${\rm inv}(L)\leq 1$ and ${\rm inv}(R)\leq 2$ and when ${\rm inv}(L) ={\rm inv}(R)=2$ and $L$ and $R$ are strongly connected. We also show that the function $g$ of the third inequality satisfies $g(1)\leq 4$.
We then consider the complexity of deciding whether ${\rm inv}(D)\leq k$ for a given oriented graph $D$. We show that it is NP-complete for $k=1$, which together with the above conjecture would imply that it is NP-complete for every $k$. This contrasts with a result of Belkhechine et al. which states that deciding whether ${\rm inv}(T)\leq k$ for a given tournament $T$ is polynomial-time solvable.
An uniform version of Dvir and Moran's theorem
Dvir and Moran proved the following upper bound for the size of a family $\mbox{$\cal F$}$ of subsets of $[n]$ with $\mbox{Vdim}(\mbox{$\cal F$} Δ\mbox{$\cal F$})\leq d$.
Let $d\leq n$ be integers. Let $\mbox{$\cal F$}$ be a family of subsets of $[n]$ with $\mbox{Vdim}(\mbox{$\cal F$} Δ\mbox{$\cal F$})\leq d$. Then \[ \left|\mbox{$\cal F$}\right|\le 2\sum_{k=0}^{\lfloor d/2 \rfloor}\binom nk. \]
Our main result is the following uniform version of Dvir and Moran's result.
Let $d\leq n$ be integers. Let $\mbox{$\cal F$}$ be an uniform family of subsets of $[n]$ with $\mbox{Vdim}(\mbox{$\cal F$} Δ\mbox{$\cal F$})\leq d$. Then \[ \left|\mbox{$\cal F$}\right|\le 2 {n \choose \lfloor d/2 \rfloor}. \]
Denote by $\mathbf{v_F}\in \{0,1\}^n$ the characteristic vector of a set $F \subseteq [n]$.
Our proof is based on the following uniform version of Croot-Lev-Pach Lemma:
Let $0\leq d\leq n$ be integers. Let $\mbox{$\cal H$}$ be a $k$-uniform family of subsets of $[n]$. Let $\mathbb F$ be a field. Suppose that there exists a polynomial $P(x_1, \ldots ,x_n,y_1, \ldots ,y_n)\in \mathbb F[x_1, \ldots ,x_n,y_1, \ldots ,y_n]$ with $\mbox{deg}(P)\leq d$ such that $P(\mathbf{v_F},\mathbf{v_F})\ne 0$ for each $F\in \mbox{$\cal H$}$ and $P(\mathbf{v_F},\mathbf{v_G})= 0$ for each $F\ne G\in \mbox{$\cal H$}$. Then \[ \left|\mbox{$\cal H$}\right|\le 2 {n \choose \lfloor d/2 \rfloor}. \]
Generic numerical semigroups
The use of compositions simplifies some aspects of the theory of numerical semigroups. We illustrate this by giving a new proof for the asymptotic number C((1 + $\sqrt$ 5)/2) g of numerical semigroups of genus g and by describing the constant C explicitly 1 .

The first row of the model is the Chow ring of the polymatroid; we prove Poincaré duality, Hard Lefschetz, and Hodge-Riemann theorems for the Chow ring. Furthermore we provide a relative Lefschetz decomposition with respect to the deletion of an element.
