Zarankiewicz's problem asks for the largest possible number of edges in a graph that does not contain a $K_{u,u}$ subgraph for a fixed positive integer $u$. Recently, Fox, Pach, Sheffer, Sulk and Zahl considered this problem for semi-algebraic graphs, where vertices are points in $\mathbb{R}^d$ and edges are defined by some semi-algebraic relations. In this paper, we extend this idea to semi-algebraic hypergraphs. For each $k\geq 2$, we find an upper bound on the number of hyperedges in a $k$-uniform $k$-partite semi-algebraic hypergraph without $K_{u_1,\dots,u_k}$ for fixed positive integers $u_1,\dots, u_k$. When $k=2$, this bound matches the one of Fox et.al. and when $k=3$, it is $$O\left((mnp)^{\frac{2d}{2d+1}+\varepsilon}+m(np)^{\frac{d}{d+1}+\varepsilon}+n(mp)^{\frac{d}{d+1}+\varepsilon}+p(mn)^{\frac{d}{d+1}+\varepsilon}+mn+np+pm\right),$$ where $m,n,p$ are the sizes of the parts of the tripartite hypergraph and $\varepsilon$ is an arbitrarily small positive constant. We then present applications of this result to a variant of the unit area problem, the unit minor problem and intersection hypergraphs.

We demonstrate a Markov duality between the dynamic ASEP and the standard ASEP. We then apply this to step initial data, as well as a half-stationary initial data (which we introduce). While investigating the duality for half-stationary initial data, we uncover and utilize connections to continuous $q^{-1}$-Hermite polynomials. Finally, we introduce a family of stationary initial data which are related to the indeterminate moment problem associated with these $q^{-1}$-Hermite polynomials.
Edges not in any monochromatic copy of a fixed graph

For a sequence $(H_i)_{i=1}^k$ of graphs, let $\textrm{nim}(n;H_1,\ldots, H_k)$ denote the maximum number of edges not contained in any monochromatic copy of $H_i$ in colour $i$, for any colour $i$, over all $k$-edge-colourings of~$K_n$.
When each $H_i$ is connected and non-bipartite, we introduce a variant of Ramsey number that determines the limit of $\textrm{nim}(n;H_1,\ldots, H_k)/{n\choose 2}$ as $n\to\infty$ and prove the corresponding stability result. Furthermore, if each $H_i$ is what we call \emph{homomorphism-critical} (in particular if each $H_i$ is a clique), then we determine $\textrm{nim}(n;H_1,\ldots, H_k)$ exactly for all sufficiently large~$n$. The special case $\textrm{nim}(n;K_3,K_3,K_3)$ of our result answers a question of Ma.
For bipartite graphs, we mainly concentrate on the two-colour symmetric case (i.e., when $k=2$ and $H_1=H_2$). It is trivial to see that $\textrm{nim}(n;H,H)$ is at least $\textrm{ex}(n,H)$, the maximum size of an $H$-free graph on $n$ vertices. Keevash and Sudakov showed that equality holds if $H$ is the $4$-cycle and $n$ is large; recently Ma extended their result to an infinite family of bipartite graphs. We provide a larger family of bipartite graphs for which $\textrm{nim}(n;H,H)=\textrm{ex}(n,H)$. For a general bipartite graph $H$, we show that $\textrm{nim}(n;H,H)$ is always within a constant additive error from $\textrm{ex}(n,H)$, i.e.,~$\textrm{nim}(n;H,H)= \textrm{ex}(n,H)+O_H(1)$.
Barabanov norms, Lipschitz continuity and monotonicity for the max algebraic joint spectral radius

We present several results describing the interplay between the max algebraic joint spectral radius (JSR) for compact sets of matrices and suitably defined matrix norms. In particular, we extend a classical result for the conventional algebra, showing that the JSR can be described in terms of induced norms of the matrices in the set. We also show that for a set generating an irreducible semigroup (in a cone-theoretic sense), a monotone Barabanov norm always exists. This fact is then used to show that the max algebraic JSR is locally Lipschitz continuous on the space of compact irreducible sets of matrices with respect to the Hausdorff distance. We then prove that the JSR is Hoelder continuous on the space of compact sets of nonnegative matrices. Finally, we prove a strict monotonicity property for the max algebraic JSR that echoes a fact for the classical JSR.
Topological containment of the 5-clique minus an edge in 4-connected graphs
The topological containment problem is known to be polynomial-time solvable for any fixed pattern graph $H$, but good characterisations have been found for only a handful of non-trivial pattern graphs. The complete graph on five vertices, $K_5$, is one pattern graph for which a characterisation has not been found. The discovery of such a characterisation would be of particular interest, due to the Hajós Conjecture. One step towards this may be to find a good characterisation of graphs that do not topologically contain the simpler pattern graph $K_5^-$, obtained by removing a single edge from $K_5$.
This paper makes progress towards achieving this, by showing that every 4-connected graph must contain a $K_5^-$-subdivision.

We study analogues of Minkowski's question mark function $?(x)$ related to continued fractions with even or odd partial quotients. We prove that these functions are Hölder continuous with precise exponents, and that they linearize the appropriate versions of the Gauss and Farey maps.

Two hexagons in the space are said to intersect heavily if their intersection consists of at least one common vertex as well as an interior point. We show that the number of hexagons on n points in 3-space without heavy intersections is o(n^2), under the assumption that the hexagons are "fat".
On the Laplacian spectra of some double join operations of graphs

Many variants of join operations of graphs have been introduced and their spectral properties have been studied extensively by many researchers. This paper mainly focuses on the Laplacian spectra of some double join operations of graphs. We first introduce the conception of double join matrix and provide a complete information about its eigenvalues and the corresponding eigenvectors. Further, we define four variants of double join operations based on subdivision graph, $Q$-graph, $R$-graph and total graph. Applying the result obtained for the double join matrix, we give an explicit complete characterization of the Laplacian eigenvalues and the corresponding eigenvectors of four variants in terms of the Laplacian eigenvalues and the eigenvectors of the factor graphs. These results generalize some well-known results about some join operations of graphs.

Construction of Four Completely Independent Spanning Trees on Augmented Cubes
Let T1, T2,..., Tk be spanning trees in a graph G. If for any pair of vertices {u, v} of G, the paths between u and v in every Ti( 0 < i < k+1) do not contain common edges and common vertices, except the vertices u and v, then T1, T2,..., Tk are called completely independent spanning trees in G. The n-dimensional augmented cube, denoted as AQn, a variation of the hypercube possesses several embeddable properties that the hypercube and its variations do not possess. For AQn (n > 5), construction of 4 completely independent spanning trees of which two trees with diameters 2n - 5 and two trees with diameters 2n - 3 are given.

Let $\mathcal{C}$ be a class of graphs that is closed under taking subgraphs. We prove that if for some fixed $0<δ\le 1$, every $n$-vertex graph of $\mathcal{C}$ has a balanced separator of order $O(n^{1-δ})$, then any depth-$k$ minor (i.e. minor obtained by contracting disjoint subgraphs of radius at most $k$) of a graph in $\mathcal{C}$ has average degree $O\big((k \text{ polylog }k)^{1/δ}\big)$. This confirms a conjecture of Dvořák and Norin.
On Drinfel'd associators
In 1986, in order to study the linear representations of the braid group $B\_n$coming from the monodromy of the Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov differential equations,Drinfel'd introduced a class of formal power series $Φ$on noncommutative variables. These formal series can be considered as a class of associators. We here give an interpretation of them as well as some new tools over Noncommutative Evolution Equations. Asymptotic phenomena are also discussed.
The power graph of a torsion-free group

The \emph{power graph} $P(G)$ of a group $G$ is the graph whose vertex set is $G$, with $x$ and $y$ joined if one is a power of the other; the \emph{directed power graph} $\vec{P}(G)$ has the same vertex set, with an arc from $x$ to $y$ if $y$ is a power of $x$. It is known that, for finite groups, the power graph determines the directed power graph up to isomorphism. However, it is not true that any isomorphism between power graphs induces an isomorphism between directed power graphs. Moreover, for infinite groups the power graph may fail to determine the directed power graph.
In this paper, we consider power graphs of torsion-free groups. Our main results are that, for torsion-free nilpotent groups of class at most $2$, and for groups in which every non-identity element lies in a unique maximal cyclic subgroup, the power graph determines the directed power graph up to isomorphism. For specific groups such as $\mathbb{Z}$ and $\mathbb{Q}$, we obtain more precise results. Any isomorphism $P(\mathbb{Z})\to P(G)$ preserves orientation, so induces an isomorphism between directed power graphs; in the case of $\mathbb{Q}$, the orientations are either all preserved or all reversed.
We also obtain results about groups in which every element is contained in a unique maximal cyclic subgroup (this class includes the free and free abelian groups), and about subgroups of the additive group of $\mathbb{Q}$ and about $\mathbb{Q}^n$.
A Bound on the Spectral Radius of Hypergraphs with $e$ Edges

For $r\geq 3$, let $f_r\colon [0,\infty)\to [1,\infty)$ be the unique analytic function such that $f_r({k\choose r})={k-1\choose r-1}$ for any $k\geq r-1$. We prove that the spectral radius of an $r$-uniform hypergraph $H$ with $e$ edges is at most $f_r(e)$. The equality holds if and only if $e={k\choose r}$ for some positive integer $k$ and $H$ is the union of a complete $r$-uniform hypergraph $K_k^r$ and some possible isolated vertices. This result generalizes the classical Stanley's theorem on graphs.
Dual numbers, weighted quivers, and extended Somos and Gale-Robinson sequences

We investigate a general method that allows one to construct new integer sequences extending existing ones. We apply this method to the classic Somos-4 and Somos-5, and the Gale-Robinson sequences, as well as to more general class of sequences introduced by Fordy and Marsh, and produce a great number of new sequences. The method is based on the notion of "weighted quiver", a quiver with a $\mathbb Z$-valued function on the set of vertices that obeys very special rules of mutation.
Asymptotically optimal bound on the adjacent vertex distinguishing edge choice number

An adjacent vertex distinguishing edge colouring of a graph $G$ without isolated edges is its proper edge colouring such that no pair of adjacent vertices meets the same set of colours in $G$. We show that such colouring can be chosen from any set of lists associated to the edges of $G$ as long as the size of every list is at least $Δ+CΔ^{\frac{1}{2}}(\logΔ)^4$, where $Δ$ is the maximum degree of $G$ and $C$ is a constant. The proof is probabilistic. The same is true in the environment of total colourings.
A combinatorial approach to Rauzy-type dynamics I: permutations and the Kontsevich--Zorich--Boissy classification theorem
Rauzy-type dynamics are group actions on a collection of combinatorial objects. The first and best known example concerns an action on permutations, associated to interval exchange transformations (IET) for the Poincaré map on compact orientable translation surfaces. The equivalence classes on the objects induced by the group action are related to components of the moduli spaces of Abelian differentials with prescribed singularities, and, in two variants of the problem, have been classified by Kontsevich and Zorich, and by Boissy, through methods involving both combinatorics and algebraic geometry.
We provide here a purely combinatorial proof of both classification theorems, and in passing establish a few previously unnoticed features. As will be shown elsewhere, our methods extend also to other Rauzy-type dynamics, both on labeled and unlabeled structures. Some of these dynamics have a geometrical interpretation (e.g., matchings, related to IET on non-orientable surfaces), while some others do not have one so far.

The mirror conjecture for minuscule flag varieties

We prove Rietsch's mirror conjecture that the Dubrovin quantum connection for minuscule flag varieties is isomorphic to the character D-module of the Berenstein-Kazhdan geometric crystal. The idea is to recognize the quantum connection as Galois and the geometric crystal as automorphic. We reveal surprising relations with the works of Frenkel-Gross, Heinloth-Ngô-Yun, and Zhu on Kloosterman sheaves. The isomorphism comes from global rigidity results where Hecke eigensheaves are determined by their local ramification. As corollaries we obtain combinatorial identities for counts of rational curves and the Peterson variety presentation of the small quantum cohomology ring.

A Boolean network is a finite state discrete time dynamical system. At each step, each variable takes a value from a binary set. The value update rule for each variable is a local function which depends only on a selected subset of variables. Boolean networks have been used in modeling gene regulatory networks. We focus in this paper on a special class of Boolean networks, namely the conjunctive Boolean networks (CBNs), whose value update rule is comprised of only logic AND operations. It is known that any trajectory of a Boolean network will enter a periodic orbit. Periodic orbits of a CBN have been completely understood. In this paper, we investigate the orbit-controllability and state-controllability of a CBN: We ask the question of how one can steer a CBN to enter any periodic orbit or to reach any final state, from any initial state. We establish necessary and sufficient conditions for a CBN to be orbit-controllable and state-controllable. Furthermore, explicit control laws are presented along the analysis.
