We initiate the study of the enumerative combinatorics of the intervals in the Dyck pattern poset. More specifically, we find some closed formulas to express the size of some specific intervals, as well as the number of their covering relations. In most of the cases, we are also able to refine our formulas by rank. We also provide the first results on the Möbius function of the Dyck pattern poset, giving for instance a closed expression for the Möbius function of initial intervals whose maximum is a Dyck path having exactly two peaks.
Two deformed Pascal's triangles and its new properties
In this paper, firstly, by a determinant of deformed Pascal's triangle, namely the normalized Hessenberg matrix determinant, to count Dyck paths, we give another combinatorial proof of the theorems which are of Catalan numbers determinant representations and the recurrence formula. Secondly, a determinant of normalized Toeplitz-Hessenberg matrix, whose entries are binomials, arising in power series, we derive new four properties of Pascal's triangle.
A Generalization of Parking Functions Allowing Backward Movement

Classical parking functions are defined as the parking preferences for $n$ cars driving (from west to east) down a one-way street containing parking spaces labeled from $1$ to $n$ (from west to east). Cars drive down the street toward their preferred spot and park there if the spot is available. Otherwise, the car continues driving down the street and takes the first available parking space, if such a space exists. If all cars can park using this parking rule, we call the $n$-tuple containing the cars' parking preferences a parking function.
In this paper, we introduce a generalization of the parking rule allowing cars whose preferred space is taken to first proceed up to $k$ spaces west of their preferred spot to park before proceeding east if all of those $k$ spaces are occupied. We call parking preferences which allow all cars to park under this new parking rule $k$-Naples parking functions of length $n$. This generalization gives a natural interpolation between classical parking functions, the case when $k=0$, and all $n$-tuples of positive integers $1$ to $n$, the case when $k\geq n-1$. Our main result provides a recursive formula for counting $k$-Naples parking functions of length $n$. We also give a characterization for the $k=1$ case by introducing a new function that maps $1$-Naples parking functions to classical parking functions, i.e. $0$-Naples parking functions. Lastly, we present a bijection between $k$-Naples parking functions of length $n$ whose entries are in weakly decreasing order and a family of signature Dyck paths.
Dyck Paths in Four-Dimensional Space
In analyzing balanced parentheses, we consider a group of related variables in Dyck paths. In the four-dimensional space, the Dyck triangle is constructed, i.e. an integer lattice with Dyck paths.

We introduce the family of Theta operators $Θ_f$ indexed by symmetric functions $f$ that allow us to conjecture a compositional refinement of the Delta conjecture of Haglund, Remmel and Wilson for $Δ_{e_{n-k-1}}'e_n$. We show that the $4$-variable Catalan theorem of Zabrocki is precisely the Schröder case of our compositional Delta conjecture, and we show how to relate this conjecture to the Dyck path algebra introduced by Carlsson and Mellit, extending one of their results. Again using the Theta operators, we conjecture a touching refinement of the generalized Delta conjecture for $Δ_{h_m}Δ_{e_{n-k-1}}'e_n$, and prove the case $k=0$, extending the shuffle theorem of Carlsson and Mellit to a generalized shuffle theorem for $Δ_{h_m}\nabla e_n$. Moreover we show how this implies the case $k=0$ of our generalized Delta square conjecture for $\frac{[n-k]_t}{[n]_t}Δ_{h_m}Δ_{e_{n-k}}ω(p_n)$, extending the square theorem of Sergel to a generalized square theorem for $Δ_{h_m}\nabla ω(p_n)$. Still the Theta operators will provide a conjectural formula for the Frobenius characteristic of super-diagonal coinvariants with two sets of Grassmanian variables, extending the one of Zabrocki for the case with one set of such variables. We propose a combinatorial interpretation of this last formula at $q=1$, leaving open the problem of finding a dinv statistic that gives the whole symmetric function.
$e$-positivity of vertical strip LLT polynomials
In this article we prove the $e$-positivity of $G_{\mathbfν}[X;q+1]$ when $G_{\mathbfν}[X;q]$ is a vertical strip LLT polynomial. This property has been conjectured by Alexandersson and Panova, and by Garsia, Haglund, Qiu and Romero, and it implies several $e$-positivities conjectured by them and also by Bergeron.
We make use of a result of Carlsson and Mellit that shows that a vertical strip LLT polynomial can be obtained by applying certain compositions of operators of the Dyck path algebra to the constant $1$. Our proof gives in fact an algorithm to expand these symmetric functions in the elementary basis, and it shows, as a byproduct, that these compositions of operators are actually multiplication operators.
On self-conjugate $(s, s+1,\ldots, s+k)$-core partitions
Simultaneous core partitions have been widely studied since Anderson's work on the enumeration of $(s,t)$-core partitions. Amdeberhan and Leven showed that the number of $(s,s+1, \ldots, s+k)$-core partitions is equal to the number of $(s, k)$-Dyck paths. In this paper, we prove that self-conjugate $(s,s+1, \ldots, s+k)$-core partitions are equinumerous with symmetric $(s, k)$-Dyck paths, confirming a conjecture posed by Cho, Huh and Sohn.
Hook-length formula and applications to alternating permutations
In this paper, we take interest in finding applications for a hook-length formula recently proved in (Morales Pak Panova 2016). This formula can be applied to give a non trivial relation between alternating permutations and weighted Dyck paths. First, we give an alternative proof for this result using continued fractions, and then we apply a similar reasoning to the more general case of $k$-alternating permutations.
$e$-Positivity Results and Conjectures
In a 2016 ArXiv posting F. Bergeron listed a variety of symmetric functions $G[X;q]$ with the property that $G[X;1+q]$ is $e$-positive. A large subvariety of his examples could be explained by the conjecture that the Dyck path LLT polynomials exhibit the same phenomenon. In this paper we list the results of computer explorations which suggest that other examples exhibit the same phenomenon. We prove two of the resulting conjectures and propose algorithms that would prove several of our conjectures. In writing this paper we have learned that similar findings have been independently discovered by Per Alexandersson.
Catalan Intervals and Uniquely Sorted Permutations
For each positive integer $k$, we consider five well-studied posets defined on the set of Dyck paths of semilength $k$. We prove that uniquely sorted permutations avoiding various patterns are equinumerous with intervals in these posets. While most of our proofs are bijective, some use generating trees and generating functions. We end with several conjectures.

As a classical object, the Tamari lattice has many generalizations, including $ν$-Tamari lattices and parabolic Tamari lattices. In this article, we unify these generalizations in a bijective fashion. We first prove that parabolic Tamari lattices are isomorphic to $ν$-Tamari lattices for bounce paths $ν$. We then introduce a new combinatorial object called `left-aligned colorable tree', and show that it provides a bijective bridge between various parabolic Catalan objects and certain nested pairs of Dyck paths. As a consequence, we prove the Steep-Bounce Conjecture using a generalization of the famous zeta map in $q,t$-Catalan combinatorics. A generalization of the zeta map on parking functions, which arises in the theory of diagonal harmonics, is also obtained as a labeled version of our bijection.

We give a $q$-enumeration of circular Dyck paths, which is a superset of the classical Dyck paths enumerated by the Catalan numbers. These objects have recently been studied by Alexandersson and Panova. Furthermore, we show that this $q$-analogue exhibits the cyclic sieving phenomenon under a natural action of the cyclic group. The enumeration and cyclic sieving is generalized to Möbius paths. We also discuss properties of a generalization of cyclic sieving, which we call subset cyclic sieving. Finally, we also introduce the notion of Lyndon-like cyclic sieving that concerns special recursive properties of combinatorial objects exhibiting the cyclic sieving phenomenon.
Fixed Points of Parking Functions
We define an action of words in $[m]^n$ on $\mathbb{R}^m$ to give a new characterization of rational parking functions -- they are exactly those words whose action has a fixed point. We use this viewpoint to give a simple definition of Gorsky, Mazin, and Vazirani's zeta map on rational parking functions when m and n are coprime, and prove that this zeta map is invertible. A specialization recovers Loehr and Warrington's sweep map on rational Dyck paths.

We consider the distribution of ascents, descents, peaks, valleys, double ascents, and double descents over permutations avoiding a set of patterns. Many of these statistics have already been studied over sets of permutations avoiding a single pattern of length 3. However, the distribution of peaks over 321-avoiding permutations is new and we relate it statistics on Dyck paths. We also obtain new interpretations of a number of well-known combinatorial sequences by studying these statistics over permutations avoiding two patterns of length 3.

Garsia and Xin gave a linear algorithm for inverting the sweep map for Fuss rational Dyck paths in $D_{m,n}$ where $m=kn\pm 1$. They introduced an intermediate family $\mathcal{T}_n^k$ of certain standard Young tableau. Then inverting the sweep map is done by a simple walking algorithm on a $T\in \mathcal{T}_n^k$. We find their idea naturally extends for $\mathbf{k}^\pm$-Dyck paths, and also for $\mathbf{k}$-Dyck paths (reducing to $k$-Dyck paths for the equal parameter case). The intermediate object becomes a similar type of tableau in $\mathcal{T}_\mathbf{k}$ of different column lengths. This approach is independent of the Thomas-Williams algorithm for inverting the general modular sweep map.
A combinatorial classification of 2-regular simple modules for Nakayama algebras

Enomoto showed for finite dimensional algebras that the classification of exact structures on the category of finitely generated projective modules can be reduced to the classification of 2-regular simple modules. In this article, we give a combinatorial classification of 2-regular simple modules for Nakayama algebras and we use this classification to answer several natural questions such as when there is a unique exact structure on the category of finitely generated projective modules for Nakayama algebras. We also classify 1-regular simple modules, quasi-hereditary Nakayama algebras and Nakayama algebras of global dimension at most two. It turns out that most classes are enumerated by well-known combinatorial sequences, such as Fibonacci, Riordan and Narayana numbers. We first obtain interpretations in terms of the Auslander-Reiten quiver of the algebra using homological algebra, and then apply suitable bijections to relate these to combinatorial statistics on Dyck paths.
Enumeration of $S$-omino towers and row-convex $k$-omino towers
We first enumerate a generalization of domino towers that was proposed by Tricia M. Brown (J. Integer Seq. 20 (2017)), which we call S-omino towers. We establish equations that the generating function must satisfy and then apply the Lagrange inversion formula to find a closed formula for the number of towers. We also show a connection to generalized Dyck paths and provide an explicit bijection. Finally, we consider the set of row-convex k-omino towers, introduced by Brown, and calculate an exact generating function.

We introduce and study a new partial order on Dyck paths. We prove that these posets are meet-semilattices. We show that their numbers of intervals are the same as the number of bicubic planar maps. We describe an unexpected connection with the Hochschild polytopes of Saneblidze.
Polynomial mixing time of edge flips on quadrangulations

We establish the first polynomial upper bound for the mixing time of random edge flips on rooted quadrangulations: we show that the spectral gap of the edge flip Markov chain on quadrangulations with $n$ faces admits, up to constants, an upper bound of $n^{-5/4}$ and a lower bound of $n^{-11/2}$. In order to obtain the lower bound, we also consider a very natural Markov chain on plane trees (or, equivalently, on Dyck paths) and improve the previous lower bound for its spectral gap obtained by Shor and Movassagh.
Enumerating five families of pattern-avoiding inversion sequences; and introducing the powered Catalan numbers

The first problem addressed by this article is the enumeration of some families of pattern-avoiding inversion sequences. We solve some enumerative conjectures left open by the foundational work on the topics by Corteel et al., some of these being also solved independently by Lin, and Kim and Lin. The strength of our approach is its robustness: we enumerate four families $F_1 \subset F_2 \subset F_3 \subset F_4$ of pattern-avoiding inversion sequences ordered by inclusion using the same approach. More precisely, we provide a generating tree (with associated succession rule) for each family $F_i$ which generalizes the one for the family $F_{i-1}$.
The second topic of the paper is the enumeration of a fifth family $F_5$ of pattern-avoiding inversion sequences (containing $F_4$). This enumeration is also solved \emph{via} a succession rule, which however does not generalize the one for $F_4$. The associated enumeration sequence, which we call the \emph{powered Catalan numbers}, is quite intriguing, and further investigated. We provide two different succession rules for it, denoted $Ω_{pCat}$ and $Ω_{steady}$, and show that they define two types of families enumerated by powered Catalan numbers. Among such families, we introduce the \emph{steady paths}, which are naturally associated with $Ω_{steady}$. They allow us to bridge the gap between the two types of families enumerated by powered Catalan numbers: indeed, we provide a size-preserving bijection between steady paths and valley-marked Dyck paths (which are naturally associated with $Ω_{pCat}$).
Along the way, we provide several nice connections to families of permutations defined by the avoidance of vincular patterns, and some enumerative conjectures.
