Schubert polynomials form a basis of the polynomial ring. This basis and its structure constants have received extensive study. Recently, Pan and Yu initiated the study of top Lascoux polynomials. These polynomials form a basis of a subalgebra of the polynomial ring where each graded piece has finite dimension. This paper connects Schubert polynomials and top Lascoux polynomials via a simple operator. We use this connection to show these two bases share the same structure constants. We also translate several results on Schubert polynomials to top Lascoux polynomials, including combinatorial formulas for their monomial expansions and supports.

In this article we show that the symbolic Rees algebra of a mixed ladder determinantal ideal is strongly $F$-regular. Furthermore, we prove that the symbolic associated graded algebra of a mixed ladder determinantal ideal is $F$-pure. The latter implies that mixed ladder determinantal rings are $F$-pure. We also show that ideals of the poset of minors of a generic matrix give rise to $F$-pure algebras with straightening law.
Gröbner basis and Krull dimension of Lovász-Saks-Sherijver ideal associated to a tree
Let $\mathbb{K}$ be a field and $n$ be a positive integer. Let $Γ=([n], E)$ be a simple graph, where $[n]=\{1,\ldots, n\}$. If $S=\mathbb{K}[x_1, \ldots, x_n, y_1, \ldots, y_n]$ is a polynomial ring, then the graded ideal \[ L_Γ^\mathbb{K}(2) = \left( x_{i}x_{j} + y_{i}y_{j} \colon \quad \{i, j\} \in E(Γ)\right) \subset S,\] is called the Lovász-Saks-Schrijver ideal, LSS-ideal for short, of $Γ$ with respect to $\mathbb{K}$. In the present paper, we compute a Gröbner basis of this ideal with respect to lexicographic ordering induced by $x_1>\cdots>x_n>y_1>\cdots>y_n$ when $Γ=T$ is a tree. As a result, we show that it is independent of the choice of the ground field $\mathbb{K}$ and compute the Hilbert series of $L_T^\mathbb{K}(2)$. Finally, we present concrete combinatorial formulas to obtain the Krull dimension of $S/L_T^\mathbb{K}(2)$ as well as lower and upper bounds for Krull dimension.

This is a survey article featuring some of Wolmer Vasconcelos' contributions to commutative algebra, and explaining how Vasconcelos' work and insights have contributed to the development of commutative algebra and its interaction with other areas to the present. We discuss the Vasconcelos' function and the Vasconcelos' number (v-number for short) of graded ideals and their relation to coding theory, and the interplay of Simis and normal monomial ideals with combinatorial optimization problems, blowup algebras, and resurgence theory. The regularity of subrings of normal k-uniform monomial ideals is shown to be a monotone function, and we give a normality criterion for edge ideals of graphs using Ehrhart rings.

Affine superspace $\mathbb{C}^{1 \mid n}$ has a single bosonic coordinate $z$ and $n$ fermionic coordinates $θ_1, \dots, θ_n$. Let $M$ be the supertorus obtained by quotienting $\mathbb{C}^{1 \mid n}$ by the abelian group generated by the maps $S: (z,θ_1, \dots, θ_n) \mapsto (z + 1, θ_1, \dots, θ_n)$ and $T: (z, θ_1, \dots, θ_n) \mapsto (z + t, θ_1 + α_1, \dots, θ_n + α_n)$ where $t \in \mathbb{C}$ has positive imaginary part and $α_1, \dots, α_n$ are independent fermionic parameters. We compute the zeroth and first cohomology groups of the structure sheaf $\mathcal{O}$ of $M$ as doubly graded $\mathfrak{S}_n$-modules, exhibiting an instance of Serre duality between these groups. We use skein relations and noncrossing matchings to give a combinatorial presentation of $H^0(M,\mathcal{O})$ in terms of generators and relations.

The v-number of a graded ideal is an algebraic invariant introduced by Cooper et al., and originally motivated by problems in algebraic coding theory. In this paper we study the case of binomial edge ideals and we establish a significant connection between their v-numbers and the concept of connected domination in graphs. More specifically, we prove that the localization of the v-number at one of the minimal primes of the binomial edge ideal $J_G$ of a graph $G$ coincides with the connected domination number of the defining graph, providing a first algebraic description of the connected domination number. As an immediate corollary, we obtain a sharp combinatorial upper bound for the v-number of binomial edge ideals of graphs. Lastly, building on some known results on edge ideals, we analyze how the v-number of $J_G$ behaves under Gröbner degeneration when $G$ is a closed graph.

The $t=0$ specialization of the Mimachi-Noumi Cauchy-type identity rewrites certain infinite product in terms of specialized nonsymmetric Macdonald polynomials of type $GL_n$. We interpret the infinite product as a character of the space of functions on a certain matrix space. We show that the space of functions admits a filtration such that the graded pieces are isomorphic to the tensor products of certain generalized global Weyl modules of the Iwahori algebra. We identify the characters of the graded pieces with the terms of the specialized Mimachi-Noumi formula. We conjecture the existence of an analogous filtration on the space of functions on the Iwahori group for all simple Lie algebras and prove the conjecture for $SL_n$. Our construction can be seen as a current algebra extension of the van der Kallen filtration on functions on a Borel subgroup.

We investigate a generalization of the classical notion of a Schur functor associated to a ribbon diagram. These functors are defined with respect to an arbitrary algebra, and in the case that the underlying algebra is the symmetric/exterior algebra, we recover the classical definition of Schur/Weyl functors, respectively. In general, we construct a family of 3-term complexes categorifying the classical concatenation/near-concatenation identity for symmetric functions, and one of our main results is that the exactness of these 3-term complexes is equivalent to the Koszul property of the underlying algebra $A$. We further generalize these ribbon Schur functors to the notion of a multi-Schur functor and construct a canonical filtration of these objects whose associated graded pieces are described explicitly; one consequence of this filtration is a complete equivariant description of the syzygies of arbitrary Segre products of Koszul modules over the Segre product of Koszul algebras. Further applications to the equivariant structure of derived invariants, symmetric function identities, and Koszulness of certain classes of modules are explored at the end, along with a characteristic-free computation of the regularity of a Schur functor applied to the tautological subbundle on projective space.

We consider standard graded toric rings $R_Δ$ whose generators correspond to the faces of a simplicial complex $Δ$. When $R_Δ$ is normal, it is shown that its divisor class group is free. For a flag complex $Δ$ which is the clique complex of a perfect graph, a nice description for the class group and the canonical module of $R_Δ$ in terms of the minimal vertex covers of the graph is given. Moreover, for a quasi-forest simplicial complex a quadratic Gröbner basis for the defining ideal of $R_Δ$ is presented. Using this fact we give combinatorial descriptions for the $a$-invariant and the Gorenstein property of $R_Δ$.
Normally located polyhedra
Lattice polyhedra $Q_1$ and $Q_2$ with the same tail cone are said to be normally located if every lattice point in the Minkowski sum $Q_1+Q_2$ is the sum of lattice points from $Q_1$ and $Q_2$, respectively. We prove that if the normal fan of $Q_1$ refines the normal fan of $Q_2$, then there is a positive integer $k$ such that for any positive integer $s$ the polyhedra $skQ_1$ and $skQ_2$ are normally located. This result is based on an interpretation of the problem in terms of graded algebras and earlier results on surjectivity of the multiplicaiton map on homogeneous components. Also we provide an example of two lattice triangles $P$ and $Q$ on the plane such that for any positive integer $k$ the triangles $kP$ and $kQ$ are not normally located.
A splitting property of the chromatic homology of the complete graph
Khovanov introduced a bigraded cohomology theory of links whose graded Euler characteristic is the Jones polynomial. The theory was subsequently applied to the chromatic polynomial of graph, resulting in a categorification known as the ``chromatic homology''. Much as in the Khovanov homology, the chromatic polynomial can be obtained by taking the Euler characteristic of the chromatic homology. In the present paper, we introduce a combinatorial description of enhanced states that can be applied to analysis of the homology in an explicit way by hand. Using the new combinatorial description, we show a splitting property of the chromatic homology for a certain class of graphs. Finally, as an application of the description, we compute the chromatic homology of the complete graph.

We define noncrossing partitions of a marked surface without punctures (interior marked points). We show that the natural partial order on noncrossing partitions is a graded lattice and describe its rank function topologically. Lower intervals in the lattice are isomorphic to products of noncrossing partition lattices of other surfaces. We similarly define noncrossing partitions of a symmetric marked surface with double points and prove some of the analogous results. The combination of symmetry and double points plays a role that one might have expected to be played by punctures.

We study the partial orders induced on Wachs and signed Wachs permutations by the Bruhat and weak orders of the symmetric and hyperoctahedral groups. We show that these orders are graded, determine their rank function, characterize their ordering and covering relations, and compute their characteristic polynomials, when partially ordered by Bruhat order, and determine their structure explicitly when partially ordered by right weak order.
Noncommutative crossing partitions
We define and study noncommutative crossing partitions which are a generalization of non-crossing partitions. By introducing a new cover relation on binary trees, we show that the partially ordered set of noncommutative crossing partitions is a graded lattice. This new lattice contains the Kreweras lattice, the lattice of non-crossing partitions, as a sublattice. We calculate the Möbius function, the number of maximal chains and the number of $k$-chains in this new lattice by constructing an explicit $EL$-labeling on the lattice. By use of the $EL$-labeling, we recover the classical results on the Kreweras lattice. We characterize two endomorphism on the Kreweras lattice, the Kreweras complement map and the involution defined by Simion and Ullman, in terms of the maps on the noncommutative crossing partitions. We also establish relations among three combinatorial objects: labeled $k+1$-ary trees, $k$-chains in the lattice, and $k$-Dyck tilings.

We give a combinatorial description of local cohomology modules of a graded module over a semigroup ring, with support at the graded maximal ideal. This combinatorial framework yields Hochster-type formulas for the Hilbert series of such local cohomology modules in terms of the homology of finitely many polyhedral cell complexes. A Cohen--Macaulay criterion immediately follows. We also provide an alternative proof of a result of [18] characterizing Cohen--Macaulay affine semigroup rings.
Ideals of submaximal minors of sparse symmetric matrices

We study algebraic and homological properties of the ideal of submaximal minors of a sparse generic symmetric matrix. This ideal is generated by all $(n-1)$-minors of a symmetric $n \times n$ matrix whose entries in the upper triangle are distinct variables or zeros and the zeros are only allowed at off-diagonal places. The surviving off-diagonal entries are encoded as a simple graph $G$ with $n$ vertices. We prove that the minimal free resolution of this ideal is obtained from the case without any zeros via a simple pruning procedure, extending methods of Boocher. This allows us to compute all graded Betti numbers in terms of $n$ and a single invariant of $G$. Moreover, it turns out that these ideals are always radical and have Cohen--Macaulay quotients if and only if $G$ is either connected or has no edges at all. The key input are some new Gröbner basis results with respect to non-diagonal term orders associated to $G$.

We construct cellular resolutions for monomial ideals via discrete Morse theory. In particular, we develop an algorithm to create homogeneous acyclic matchings and we call the cellular resolutions induced from these matchings Barile-Macchia resolutions. These resolutions are minimal for edge ideals of weighted oriented forests and (most) cycles. As a result, we provide recursive formulas for graded Betti numbers and projective dimension. Furthermore, we compare Barile-Macchia resolutions to those created by Batzies and Welker and some well-known simplicial resolutions. Under certain assumptions, whenever the above resolutions are minimal, so are Barile-Macchia resolutions.

In their study of Jack polynomials, Nazarov-Sklyanin introduced a remarkable new graded linear operator ${\mathcal L} \colon F[w] \rightarrow F[w]$ where $F$ is the ring of symmetric functions and $w$ is a variable. In this paper, we (1) establish a cyclic decomposition $F[w] \cong \bigoplus_λ Z(j_λ, {\mathcal L})$ into finite-dimensional ${\mathcal L}$-cyclic subspaces in which Jack polynomials $j_λ$ may be taken as cyclic vectors and (2) prove that the restriction of ${\mathcal L}$ to each $Z(j_λ, {\mathcal L})$ has simple spectrum given by the anisotropic contents $[s]$ of the addable corners $s$ of the Young diagram of $λ$. Our proofs of (1) and (2) rely on the commutativity and spectral theorem for the integrable hierarchy associated to ${\mathcal L}$, both established by Nazarov-Sklyanin. Finally, we conjecture that the ${\mathcal L}$-eigenfunctions $ψ_λ^s {\in F[w]}$ {with eigenvalue $[s]$ and constant term} $ψ_λ^s|_{w=0} = j_λ$ are polynomials in the rescaled power sum basis $V_μ w^l$ of $F[w]$ with integer coefficients.
Central Measures of Continuous Graded Graphs:\\ the Case of Distinct Frequencies

We define a class of continuous graded graphs similar to the graph of Gelfand--Tsetlin patterns, and describe the set of all ergodic central measures of discrete type on the path spaces of such graphs. The main observation is that an ergodic central measure on a subgraph of a Pascal-type graph can often be obtained as the restriction of the standard Bernoulli measure to the path space of the subgraph. This observation dramatically changes the approach to finding central measures also on discrete graphs, such as the famous Young graph.
The simplest example of this type is given by the theorem on the weak limits of normalized Lebesgue measures on simplices; these are the so-called Cesàro measures, which are concentrated on the sequences with prescribed Cesàro limits (this limit parametrizes the corresponding measure).
More complicated examples are the graphs of continuous Young diagrams with fixed number of rows and the graphs of spectra of infinite Hermitian matrices of finite rank. We prove existence and uniqueness theorems for ergodic central measures and describe their structure. In particular, our results 1) give a new spectral description of the so-called infinite-dimensional Wishart measures~\cite{W}~ -- ergodic unitarily invariant measures of discrete type on the set of infinite Hermitian matrices; 2) describe the structure of continuous analogs of measures on discrete graded graphs.
New problems and connections which appear are to be considered in new publications.

Let $R=\mathbb{K}[x_1,\dots,x_n]$, a graded algebra $S=R/I$ satisfies $N_{k,p}$ if $I$ is generated in degree $k$, and the graded minimal resolution is linear the first $p$ steps, and the $k$-index of $S$ is the largest $p$ such that $S$ satisfies $N_{k,p}$. Eisenbud and Goto have shown that for any graded ring $R/I$, then $R/I_{\geq k}$, where $I_{\geq k}=I\cap M^k$ and $M=(x_1,\dots,x_n)$, has a $k$-linear resolution (satisfies $N_{k,p}$ for all $p$) if $k\gg0$. For a squarefree monomial ideal $I$, we are here interested in the ideal $I_k$ which is the squarefree part of $I_{\geq k}$. The ideal $I$ is, via Stanley-Reisner correspondence, associated to a simplicial complex $Δ_I$. In this case, all Betti numbers of $R/I_k$ for $k>\min\{\text{deg}(u)\mid u\in I\}$, which of course is a much finer invariant than the index, can be determined from the Betti diagram of $R/I$ and the $f$-vector of $Δ_I$. We compare our results with the corresponding statements for $I_{\ge k}$. (Here $I$ is an arbitrary graded ideal.) In this case we show that the Betti numbers of $R/I_{\ge k}$ can be determined from the Betti numbers of $R/I$ and the Hilbert series of $R/I_{\ge k}$.
