Let $A$ be a finite-dimensional gentle algebra over an algebraically closed field. We investigate the combinatorial properties of support $τ$-tilting graph of $A$. In particular, it is proved that the support $τ$-tilting graph of $A$ is connected and has the so-called reachable-in-face property. This property was conjectured by Fomin and Zelevinsky for exchange graphs of cluster algebras which was recently confirmed by Cao and Li.

Spatial search on graphs is one of the most important algorithmic applications of quantum walks. To show that a quantum-walk-based search is more efficient than a random-walk-based search is a difficult problem, which has been addressed in several ways. Usually, graph symmetries aid in the calculation of the algorithm's computational complexity, and Johnson graphs are an interesting class regarding symmetries because they are regular, Hamilton-connected, vertex- and distance-transitive. In this work, we show that spatial search on Johnson graphs by continuous-time quantum walk achieves the Grover lower bound $π\sqrt{N}/2$ with success probability $1$ asymptotically for every fixed diameter, where $N$ is the number of vertices. The proof is mathematically rigorous and can be used for other graph classes.
The Jacobian of Cyclic Voltage Covers of $K_n$
This paper proves results about the Jacobians of a certain family of covering graphs, $Y$, of a base graph $X$, that is constructed from an assignment of elements from a group $G$ to the edges of $X$ ($G$ is called the voltage group and $Y$ is called the derived graph). Of particular interest is when the voltage assignment is given by mapping a generator of the cyclic group of order $d$ to a single edge of $X$ (all other edges are assigned the identity), called a single voltage assignment. Both the order and abelian group structure of the Jacobian of single voltage assignment derived graphs are determined when the base graph $X$ is the complete graph on $n$ vertices, for every $n$ and $d$. Using zeta-functions, general product formulas that relate the order of the Jacobian of $Y$ to that of $X$ are developed; these formulas become very simple and explicit in the special case of single voltage covers of $X$.
Maximum likelihood thresholds via graph rigidity

The maximum likelihood threshold (MLT) of a graph $G$ is the minimum number of samples to almost surely guarantee existence of the maximum likelihood estimate in the corresponding Gaussian graphical model. We give a new characterization of the MLT in terms of rigidity-theoretic properties of $G$ and use this characterization to give new combinatorial lower bounds on the MLT of any graph.
We use the new lower bounds to give high-probability guarantees on the maximum likelihood thresholds of sparse Erd{ö}s-Rényi random graphs in terms of their average density. These examples show that the new lower bounds are within a polylog factor of tight, where, on the same graph families, all known lower bounds are trivial.
Based on computational experiments made possible by our methods, we conjecture that the MLT of an Erd{ö}s-Rényi random graph is equal to its generic completion rank with high probability. Using structural results on rigid graphs in low dimension, we can prove the conjecture for graphs with MLT at most $4$ and describe the threshold probability for the MLT to switch from $3$ to $4$.
We also give a geometric characterization of the MLT of a graph in terms of a new "lifting" problem for frameworks that is interesting in its own right. The lifting perspective yields a new connection between the weak MLT (where the maximum likelihood estimate exists only with positive probability) and the classical Hadwiger-Nelson problem.

We make three observations regarding a question popularized by Katznelson: is every subset of $\mathbb Z$ which is a set of Bohr recurrence is also a set of topological recurrence?
(i) If $G$ is a countable abelian group and $E\subset G$ is an $I_0$ set, then every subset of $E-E$ which is a set of Bohr recurrence is also a set of topological recurrence. In particular every subset of $\{2^n-2^m : n,m\in \mathbb N\}$ which is a set of Bohr recurrence is a set of topological recurrence.
(ii) Let $\mathbb Z^ω$ be the direct sum of countably many copies of $\mathbb Z$ with standard basis $E$. If every subset of $(E-E)-(E-E)$ which is a set of Bohr recurrence is also a set of topological recurrence, then every subset of every countable abelian group which is a set of Bohr recurrence is also a set of topological recurrence.
(iii) Fix a prime $p$ and let $\mathbb F_p^ω$ be the direct sum of countably many copies of $\mathbb Z/p\mathbb Z$ with basis $(\mathbf e_i)_{i\in \mathbb N}$. If for every $p$-uniform hypergraph with vertex set $\mathbb N$ and edge set $\mathcal F$ having infinite chromatic number, the Cayley graph on $\mathbb F_p^ω$ determined by $\{\sum_{i\in F}\mathbf e_i:F\in \mathcal F\}$ has infinite chromatic number, then every subset of $\mathbb F_p^ω$ which is a set of Bohr recurrence is a set of topological recurrence.

Recently, Gross, Mansour and Tucker introduced the partial duality polynomial of a ribbon graph and posed a conjecture that there is no orientable ribbon graph whose partial duality polynomial has only one non-constant term. We found an infinite family of counterexamples for the conjecture and showed that essentially these are the only counterexamples. This is also obtained independently by Chumutov and Vignes-Tourneret and they posed a problem: it would be interesting to know whether the partial duality polynomial and the related conjectures would make sence for general delta-matroids. In this paper, we show that partial duality polynomials have delta-matroid analogues. We introduce the twist polynomials of delta-matroids and discuss its basic properties for delta-matroids. We give a characterization of even normal binary delta-matroids whose twist polynomials have only one term and then prove that the twist polynomial of a normal binary delta-matroid contains non-zero constant term if and only if its intersection graph is bipartite.
The signless Laplacian state transfer in Q-graph
The $\mathcal{Q}$-graph of a graph $G$, denoted by $\mathcal{Q}(G)$, is the graph derived from $G$ by plugging a new vertex to each edge of $G$ and adding a new edge between two new vertices which lie on adjacent edges of $G$. In this paper, we consider to study the existence of the signless Laplacian perfect state transfer and signless Laplacian pretty good state transfer in $\mathcal{Q}$-graphs of graphs. We show that, if all the signless Laplacian eigenvalues of a regular graph $G$ are integers, then the $\mathcal{Q}$-graph of $G$ has no signless Laplacian perfect state transfer. We also give a sufficient condition that the $\mathcal{Q}$-graph of a regular graph has signless Laplacian pretty good state transfer when $G$ has signless Laplacian perfect state transfer between two specific vertices.

The main objects of the present paper are (i) Hibi rings (toric rings arising from order polytopes of posets), (ii) stable set rings (toric rings arising from stable set polytopes of perfect graphs), and (iii) edge rings (toric rings arising from edge polytopes of graphs satisfying the odd cycle condition). The goal of the present paper is to analyze those three toric rings and to discuss their structures in the case where their class groups have small rank. We prove that the class groups of (i), (ii) and (iii) are torsionfree. More precisely, we give descriptions of their class groups. Moreover, we characterize the posets or graphs whose associated toric rings have rank $1$ or $2$. By using those characterizations, we discuss the differences of isomorphic classes of those toric rings with small class groups.

Let $G=(V,E)$ be a locally finite graph. Firstly, using calculus of variations, including a direct method of variation and the mountain-pass theory, we get sequences of solutions to several local equations on $G$ (the Schrödinger equation, the mean field equation, and the Yamabe equation). Secondly, we derive uniform estimates for those local solution sequences. Finally, we obtain global solutions by extracting convergent sequence of solutions. Our method can be described as a variational method from local to global.
A heat flow for the mean field equation on a finite graph

Inspired by works of Castéras (Pacific J. Math., 2015), Li-Zhu (Calc. Var., 2019) and Sun-Zhu (Calc. Var., 2020), we propose a heat flow for the mean field equation on a connected finite graph $G=(V,E)$. Namely $$ \left\{\begin{array}{lll} \partial_tφ(u)=Δu-Q+ρ\frac{e^u}{\int_Ve^udμ}\\[1.5ex] u(\cdot,0)=u_0, \end{array}\right. $$ where $Δ$ is the standard graph Laplacian, $ρ$ is a real number, $Q:V\rightarrow\mathbb{R}$ is a function satisfying $\int_VQdμ=ρ$, and $φ:\mathbb{R}\rightarrow\mathbb{R}$ is one of certain smooth functions including $φ(s)=e^s$. We prove that for any initial data $u_0$ and any $ρ\in\mathbb{R}$, there exists a unique solution $u:V\times[0,+\infty)\rightarrow\mathbb{R}$ of the above heat flow; moreover, $u(x,t)$ converges to some function $u_\infty:V\rightarrow\mathbb{R}$ uniformly in $x\in V$ as $t\rightarrow+\infty$, and $u_\infty$ is a solution of the mean field equation $$Δu_\infty-Q+ρ\frac{e^{u_\infty}}{\int_Ve^{u_\infty}dμ}=0.$$ Though $G$ is a finite graph, this result is still unexpected, even in the special case $Q\equiv 0$. Our approach reads as follows: the short time existence of the heat flow follows from the ODE theory; various integral estimates give its long time existence; moreover we establish a Lojasiewicz-Simon type inequality and use it to conclude the convergence of the heat flow.
Persistent homology method to detect block structures in weighted networks
Unravelling the block structure of a network is critical for studying macroscopic features and community-level dynamics. The weighted stochastic block model (WSBM), a variation of the traditional stochastic block model, is designed for weighted networks, but it is not always optimal. We introduce a novel topological method to study the block structure of weighted networks by comparing their persistence diagrams. We found persistence diagrams of networks with different block structures show distinct features, sufficient to distinguish. Moreover, the overall characteristics are preserved even with more stochastic examples or modified hyperparameters. Finally, when random graphs whose latent block structure is unknown are tested, results from persistence diagram analysis are consistent with their weighted stochastic block model. Although this topological method cannot completely replace the original WSBM method for some reasons, it is worth to be investigated further.
Reducing Linear Hadwiger's Conjecture to Coloring Small Graphs

In 1943, Hadwiger conjectured that every graph with no $K_t$ minor is $(t-1)$-colorable for every $t\ge 1$. In the 1980s, Kostochka and Thomason independently proved that every graph with no $K_t$ minor has average degree $O(t\sqrt{\log t})$ and hence is $O(t\sqrt{\log t})$-colorable. Recently, Norin, Song and the second author showed that every graph with no $K_t$ minor is $O(t(\log t)^β)$-colorable for every $β> 1/4$, making the first improvement on the order of magnitude of the $O(t\sqrt{\log t})$ bound. The first main result of this paper is that every graph with no $K_t$ minor is $O(t\log\log t)$-colorable.
This is a corollary of our main technical result that the chromatic number of a $K_t$-minor-free graph is bounded by $O(t(1+f(G,t)))$ where $f(G,t)$ is the maximum of $\frac{χ(H)}{a}$ over all $a\ge \frac{t}{\sqrt{\log t}}$ and $K_a$-minor-free subgraphs $H$ of $G$ that are small (i.e. $O(a\log^4 a)$ vertices). This has a number of interesting corollaries. First as mentioned, using the current best-known bounds on coloring small $K_t$-minor-free graphs, we show that $K_t$-minor-free graphs are $O(t\log\log t)$-colorable. Second, it shows that proving Linear Hadwiger's Conjecture (that $K_t$-minor-free graphs are $O(t)$-colorable) reduces to proving it for small graphs. Third, we prove that $K_t$-minor-free graphs with clique number at most $\sqrt{\log t}/ (\log \log t)^2$ are $O(t)$-colorable. This implies our final corollary that Linear Hadwiger's Conjecture holds for $K_r$-free graphs for every fixed $r$.
One key to proving the main theorem is a new standalone result that every $K_t$-minor-free graph of average degree $d=Ω(t)$ has a subgraph on $O(t \log^3 t)$ vertices with average degree $Ω(d)$.
Smith Normal Form and the Generalized Spectral Characterization of Graphs

Spectral characterization of graphs is an important topic in spectral graph theory, which has received a lot of attention from researchers in recent years. It is generally very hard to show a given graph to be determined by its spectrum. Recently, Wang [10] gave a simple arithmetic condition for graphs being determined by their generalized spectra. Let $G$ be a graph with adjacency matrix $A$ on $n$ vertices, and $W=[e,Ae,\ldots,A^{n-1}e]$ ($e$ is the all-one vector) be the walk-matrix of $G$. A theorem of Wang [10] states that if $2^{-\lfloor n/2\rfloor}\det W$ (which is always an integer) is odd and square-free, then $G$ is determined by the generalized spectrum. In this paper, we find a new and short route which leads to a stronger version of the above theorem. The result is achieved by using the Smith Normal Form of the walk-matrix of $G$. The proposed method gives a new insight in dealing with the problem of generalized spectral characterization of graphs.

A vertex coloring is called distinguishing if the identity is the only automorphism that can preserve it. The distinguishing threshold $θ(G)$ of a graph $G$ is the minimum number of colors $k$ required that any arbitrary $k$-coloring of $G$ is distinguishing. In this paper, we calculate the distinguishing threshold of a Cartesian product graph. Moreover, we calculate the number of non-equivalent distinguishing colorings of grids.

In this paper, we study the nonlinear Schrödinger equation $ -Δu+V(x)u=f(x,u) $on the lattice graph $ \mathbb{Z}^{N}$. Using the Nehari method, we prove that when $f$ satisfies some growth conditions and the potential function $V$ is periodic or bounded, the above equation admits a ground state solution. Moreover, we extend our results from $\mathbb{Z}^{N}$ to quasi-transitive graphs.

The reconfiguration graph for the $k$-colourings of a graph $G$, denoted $R_{k}(G)$, is the graph whose vertices are the $k$-colourings of $G$ and two colourings are joined by an edge if they differ in colour on exactly one vertex. For any $k$-colourable $P_4$-free graph $G$, Bonamy and Bousquet proved that $R_{k+1}(G)$ is connected. In this short note, we complete the classification of the connectedness of $R_{k+1}(G)$ for a $k$-colourable graph $G$ excluding a fixed path, by constructing a $7$-chromatic $2K_2$-free (and hence $P_5$-free) graph admitting a frozen $8$-colouring. This settles a question of the second author.
Threshold Ramsey multiplicity for odd cycles

The Ramsey number $r(H)$ of a graph $H$ is the minimum $n$ such that any two-coloring of the edges of the complete graph $K_n$ contains a monochromatic copy of $H$. The threshold Ramsey multiplicity $m(H)$ is then the minimum number of monochromatic copies of $H$ taken over all two-edge-colorings of $K_{r(H)}$. The study of this concept was first proposed by Harary and Prins almost fifty years ago. In a companion paper, the authors have shown that there is a positive constant $c$ such that the threshold Ramsey multiplicity for a path or even cycle with $k$ vertices is at least $(ck)^k$, which is tight up to the value of $c$. Here, using different methods, we show that the same result also holds for odd cycles with $k$ vertices.
Threshold Ramsey multiplicity for paths and even cycles

The Ramsey number $r(H)$ of a graph $H$ is the minimum integer $n$ such that any two-coloring of the edges of the complete graph $K_n$ contains a monochromatic copy of $H$. While this definition only asks for a single monochromatic copy of $H$, it is often the case that every two-edge-coloring of the complete graph on $r(H)$ vertices contains many monochromatic copies of $H$. The minimum number of such copies over all two-colorings of $K_{r(H)}$ will be referred to as the threshold Ramsey multiplicity of $H$. Addressing a problem of Harary and Prins, who were the first to systematically study this quantity, we show that there is a positive constant $c$ such that the threshold Ramsey multiplicity of a path or an even cycle on $k$ vertices is at least $(ck)^k$. This bound is tight up to the constant $c$. We prove a similar result for odd cycles in a companion paper.

A tripartite-circle drawing of a tripartite graph is a drawing in the plane, where each part of a vertex partition is placed on one of three disjoint circles, and the edges do not cross the circles. The tripartite-circle crossing number of a tripartite graph is the minimum number of edge crossings among all its tripartite-circle drawings. We determine the exact value of the tripartite-circle crossing number of $K_{a,b,n}$, where $a,b\leq 2$.

Given vertex valencies admissible for a self-dual polyhedral graph, we describe an algorithm to explicitly construct such a polyhedron. Inputting in the algorithm permutations of the degree sequence can give rise to non-isomorphic graphs.
As an application, we find as a function of $n\geq 3$ the minimal number of vertices for a self-dual polyhedron with at least one vertex of degree $i$ for each $3\leq i\leq n$, and construct such polyhedra. Moreover, we find a construction for non-self-dual polyhedral graphs of minimal order with at least one vertex of degree $i$ and at least one $i$-gonal face for each $3\leq i\leq n$.
