Given a graph $G$ and a positive integer $k$, define the \emph{Gallai-Ramsey number} to be the minimum number of vertices $n$ such that any $k$-edge coloring of $K_n$ contains either a rainbow (all different colored) triangle or a monochromatic copy of $G$. In this paper, we obtain general upper and lower bounds on the Gallai-Ramsey numbers for the graph $G = S_t^{r}$ obtained from a star of order $t$ by adding $r$ extra independent edges between leaves of the star so there are $r$ triangles and $t - 2r - 1$ pendent edges in $S_t^{r}$. We also prove some sharp results when $t = 2$.

Given a graph $H$ and a positive integer $n$, the {\it Turán number} $\ex(n,H)$ is the maximum number of edges in an $n$-vertex graph that does not contain $H$ as a subgraph. A real number $r\in(1,2)$ is called a {\it Turán exponent} if there exists a bipartite graph $H$ such that $\ex(n,H)=Θ(n^r)$. A long-standing conjecture of Erdős and Simonovits states that $1+\frac{p}{q}$ is a Turán exponent for all positive integers $p$ and $q$ with $q> p$.
In this paper, we build on recent developments on the conjecture to establish a large family of new Turán exponents. In particular, it follows from our main result that $1+\frac{p}{q}$ is a Turán exponent for all positive integers $p$ and $q$ with $q> p^2$.
Notes on k-rainbow independent domination in graphs
The $k$-rainbow independent domination number of a graph $G$, denoted $γ_{\rm rik}(G)$, is the cardinality of a smallest set consisting of two vertex-disjoint independent sets $V_1$ and $V_2$ for which every vertex in $V(G)\setminus (V_1\cup V_2)$ has neighbors in both $V_1$ and $V_2$. This domination invariant was proposed by {Š}umenjak, Rall and Tepeh in (Applied Mathematics and Computation 333(15), 2018: 353-361), which allows to reduce the problem of computing the independent domination number of the generalized prism $G {\Box} K_k$ to an integer labeling problem on $G$. They proved a Nordhaus-Gaddum-type theorem: $5\leq γ_{\rm rik}(G)+γ_{\rm rik}(\overline{G})\leq n+3$ for every graph $G$ of order $n\geq 3$, where $\overline{G}$ is the complement of $G$. In this paper, we improve this result by showing that if $G$ is not isomorphic to the 5-cycle, then $5\leq γ_{\rm rik}(G)+γ_{\rm rik}(\overline{G})\leq n+2$. Moreover, we show that the problem of deciding whether a graph has a $k$-rainbow independent dominating function of a given weight is $\mathcal{NP}$-complete. Our results respond some open questions proposed by Šumenjak, et al.
Hoffman's bound for hypergraphs
One of the best-known results in spectral graph theory is the inequality of Hoffman \[ χ\left( G\right) \geq1-\frac{λ\left( G\right) }{λ_{\min }\left( G\right) }, \] where $χ\left( G\right) $ is the chromatic number of a graph $G$ and $λ\left( G\right) ,$ $λ_{\min}\left( G\right) $ are the largest and the smallest eigenvalues of its adjacency matrix.
In this note Hoffman's inequality is extended to weighted uniform $r$-graphs for every even $r$.
Recognizing and realizing cactus metrics

The problem of realizing finite metric spaces in terms of weighted graphs has many applications. For example, the mathematical and computational properties of metrics that can be realized by trees have been well-studied and such research has laid the foundation of the reconstruction of phylogenetic trees from evolutionary distances. However, as trees may be too restrictive to accurately represent real-world data or phenomena, it is important to understand the relationship between more general graphs and distances. In this paper, we introduce a new type of metric called a cactus metric, that is, a metric that can be realized by a cactus graph. We show that, just as with tree metrics, a cactus metric has a unique optimal realization. In addition, we describe an algorithm that can recognize whether or not a metric is a cactus metric and, if so, compute its optimal realization in $O(n^3)$ time, where $n$ is the number of points in the space.

In this article, we study freeness of hyperplane arrangements. One of the most investigated arrangement is a graphic arrangement. Stanley proved that a graphic arrangement is free if and only if the corresponding graph is chordal and Dirac showed that a graph is chordal if and only if the graph is obtained by "gluing" complete graphs. We will generalize Dirac's construction to simple matroids with modular joins introduced by Ziegler and show that every arrangement whose associated matroid is constructed in the manner mentioned above is divisionally free. Moreover, we apply the result to arrangements associated with gain graphs and arrangements over finite fields.

A graph $Γ$ is $G$-symmetric if $G$ is a group of automorphisms of $Γ$ which is transitive on the set of ordered pairs of adjacent vertices of $Γ$. If $V(Γ)$ admits a nontrivial $G$-invariant partition ${\cal B}$ such that for blocks $B, C \in {\cal B}$ adjacent in the quotient graph $Γ_{\cal B}$ of $Γ$ relative to ${\cal B}$, exactly one vertex of $B$ has no neighbour in $C$, then $Γ$ is called an almost multicover of $Γ_{\cal B}$. In this case an incidence structure with point set ${\cal B}$ arises naturally, and it is a $(G, 2)$-point-transitive and $G$-block-transitive 2-design if in addition $Γ_{\cal B}$ is a complete graph. In this paper we classify all $G$-symmetric graphs $Γ$ such that (i) ${\cal B}$ has block size $|B| \ge 3$; (ii) $Γ_{\cal B}$ is complete and almost multi-covered by $Γ$; (iii) the incidence structure involved is a linear space; and (iv) $G$ contains a regular normal subgroup which is elementary abelian. This classification together with earlier results in [A. Gardiner and C. E. Praeger, Australas. J. Combin. 71 (2018) 403--426], [M.~Giulietti et al., J. Algebraic Combin. 38 (2013) 745--765] and [T. Fang et al., Electronic J. Combin. 23 (2) (2016) P2.27] completes the classification of symmetric graphs satisfying (i) and (ii).

We prove an asymptotic formula for the number of orientations with given out-degree (score) sequence for a graph $G$. The graph $G$ is assumed to have average degrees at least $n^{1/3 + \varepsilon}$ for some $\varepsilon > 0$, and to have strong mixing properties, while the maximum imbalance (out-degree minus in-degree) of the orientation should be not too large. Our enumeration results have applications to the study of subdigraph occurrences in random orientations with given imbalance sequence. As one step of our calculation, we obtain new bounds for the maximum likelihood estimators for the Bradley-Terry model of paired comparisons.

In the Cograph Deletion (resp., Cograph Editing) problem the input is a graph $G$ and an integer $k$, and the goal is to decide whether there is a set of edges of size at most $k$ whose removal from $G$ (resp., removal and addition to $G$) results in a graph that does not contain an induced path with four vertices. In this paper we give algorithms for Cograph Deletion and Cograph Editing whose running times are $O^*(2.303^k)$ and $O^*(4.329^k)$, respectively.

The Erdős-Gallai Theorem states that every graph of average degree more than $l-2$ contains a path of order $l$ for $l\ge 2$. In this paper, we obtain a stability version of the Erdős-Gallai Theorem in terms of minimum degree. Let $G$ be a connected graph of order $n$ and $F=(\bigcup_{i=1}^kP_{2a_i})\bigcup(\bigcup_{i=1}^lP_{2b_i+1})$ be $k+l$ disjoint paths of order $2a_1, \ldots, 2a_{k}, 2b_1+1, \ldots, 2b_l+1,$ respectively, where $k\ge 0$, $0\le l\le 2$, and $k+l\geq 2$. If the minimum degree $δ(G)\ge \sum_{i=1}^ka_i+\sum_{i=1}^lb_i-1$, then $F\subseteq G$ except several classes of graphs for sufficiently large $n$, which extends and strengths the results of Ali and Staton for an even path and Yuan and Nikiforov for an odd path.

A b-coloring of a graph is a proper coloring such that each color class has at least one vertex which is adjacent to each other color class. The b-spectrum of $G$ is the set $S_{b}(G)$ of integers $k$ such that $G$ has a b-coloring with $k$ colors and $b(G)=\max S_{b}(G)$ is the b-chromatic number of $G$. A graph is b-continous if $S_{b}(G)=[χ(G),b(G)]\cap \mathbb{Z}$. An infinite number of graphs that are not b-continuous is known. It is also known that graphs with girth at least 10 are b-continuous.
A partial Grundy coloring is a proper coloring $f:V(G)\rightarrow \{1,\ldots,k\}$ such that each color class $i$ contains some vertex $u$ that is adjacent to every color class $j$ such that $j<i$. The partial Grundy number of $G$ is the maximum value $\partialΓ(G)$ for which $G$ has a partial Grundy coloring.
In this work, we prove that graphs with girth at least 8 are b-continuous, and that the b-spectrum of a graph $G$ with girth at least 7 contains the integers between $2χ(G)$ and $b(G)$. We also prove that $\partialΓ(G)$ equals a known upper bound when $G$ is a graph with girth at least 7. These results generalize previous ones by Linhares-Sales and Silva (2017), and by Shi et al.(2005).
On List Equitable Total Colorings of the Generalized Theta Graph

In 2003 Kostochka, Pelsmajer, and West introduced a list analogue of equitable coloring called equitable choosability. A $k$-assignment, $L$, for a graph $G$ assigns a list, $L(v)$, of $k$ available colors to each $v \in V(G)$, and an equitable $L$-coloring of $G$ is a proper coloring, $f$, of $G$ such that $f(v) \in L(v)$ for each $v \in V(G)$ and each color class of $f$ has size at most $\lceil |V(G)|/k \rceil$. In 2018, Kaul, Mudrock, and Pelsmajer subsequently introduced the List Equitable Total Coloring Conjecture which states that if $T$ is a total graph of some simple graph, then $T$ is equitably $k$-choosable for each $k \geq \max \{χ_\ell(T), Δ(T)/2 + 2 \}$ where $Δ(T)$ is the maximum degree of a vertex in $T$ and $χ_\ell(T)$ is the list chromatic number of $T$. In this paper we verify the List Equitable Total Coloring Conjecture for subdivisions of stars and the generalized theta graph.
Independent Double Roman Domination on Block Graphs
Given a graph $G=(V,E)$, $f:V \rightarrow \{0,1,2 \}$ is the Italian dominating function of $G$ if $f$ satisfies $\sum_{u \in N(v)}f(u) \geq 2$ when $f(v)=0$. Denote $w(f)=\sum_{v \in V}f(v)$ as the weight of $f$. Let $V_i=\{v:f(v)=i\},i=0,1,2$, we call $f$ the independent Italian dominating function if $V_1 \cup V_2$ is an independent set. The independent Italian domination number of $G$ is the minimum weight of independent Italian dominating function $f$, denoted by $i_{I}(G)$. We equivalently transform the independent domination problem of the connected block graph $G$ to the induced independent domination problem of its block-cutpoint graph $T$, then a linear time algorithm is given to find $i_{I}(G)$ of any connected block graph $G$ based on dynamic programming.

Let $G=(V,E)$ be a finite undirected graph. An edge subset $E' \subseteq E$ is a {\em dominating induced matching} ({\em d.i.m.}) in $G$ if every edge in $E$ is intersected by exactly one edge of $E'$. The \emph{Dominating Induced Matching} (\emph{DIM}) problem asks for the existence of a d.i.m.\ in $G$. The DIM problem is \NP-complete even for very restricted graph classes such as planar bipartite graphs with maximum degree 3 but was solved in linear time for $P_7$-free graphs and in polynomial time for $P_8$-free graphs. In this paper, we solve it in polynomial time for $P_9$-free graphs.

The notion of spectrum of first-order properties introduced by J. Spencer for Erdos-Renyi random graph is considered in relation to random uniform hypergraphs. We study properties of spectrum for first-order formulae with bounded quantifier depth and estimate the values of minimum and maximum points of this spectrum. We also consider the set of limit points of the spectrum and give a bound for its minimum value.

Let $G$ be a simple and finite graph. A graph is said to be \textit{decomposed} into subgraphs $H_1$ and $H_2$ which is denoted by $G= H_1 \oplus H_2$, if $G$ is the edge disjoint union of $H_1$ and $H_2$. If $G= H_1 \oplus H_2 \oplus H_3 \oplus \cdots \oplus H_k$, where\ $H_1$,$H_2$,$H_3$, ..., $H_k$ are all isomorphic to $H$, then $G$ is said to be $H$-decomposable. Futhermore, if $H$ is a cycle of length $m$ then we say that $G$ is $C_m$-decomposable and this can be written as $C_m|G$. Where $ G\times H$ denotes the tensor product of graphs $G$ and $H$, in this paper, we prove the necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of $C_4$-decomposition (respectively, $C_6$-decomposition ) of $K_m \times K_n$. Using these conditions it can be shown that every even regular complete multipartite graph $G$ is $C_4$-decomposable (respectively, $C_6$-decomposable) if the number of edges of $G$ is divisible by $4$ (respectively, $6$).
New results on the degree/diameter problem of mixed Abelian Cayley graphs
Mixed graphs can be seen as digraphs that have both arcs and edges (or digons, that is, two opposite arcs). In this paper, we consider the case in which such graphs are Cayley graphs of Abelian groups. These groups can be constructed by using a generalization to $\mathbb{Z}^n$ of the concept of congruence in $\mathbb{Z}$. Here we use this approach to present some families of mixed graphs, which, for every fixed value of the degree, have an asymptotically large number of vertices as the diameter increases. In some cases, the results obtained are shown to be optimal.
Generalized DP-Colorings of Graphs

By a graph we mean a finite undirected graph having multiple edges but no loops. Given a graph property $\mathcal{P}$, a $\mathcal{P}$-coloring of a graph $G$ with color set $C$ is a mapping $\f:V(G)\to C$ such that for each color $c\in C$ the subgraph of $G$ induced by the color class $\varphi^{-1}(c)$ belongs to $\mathcal{P}$. The $\mathcal{P}$-chromatic number $χ(G:\mathcal{P})$ of $G$ is the least number $k$ for which $G$ admits an $\mathcal{P}$-coloring with a set of $k$-colors. This coloring concept dates back to the late 1960s and is commonly known as generalized coloring. In the 1980s the $\mathcal{P}$-choice number $χ_\ell(G:\mathcal{P})$ of $G$ was introduced and investigated by several authors. In 2018 Ďvorák and Postle introduced the DP-chromatic number as a natural extension of the choice number. They also remarked that this concept applies to any graph property. This motivated us to investigate the $\mathcal{P}$-DP-chromatic number $χ_{\rm DP}(G:\mathcal{P})$ of $G$. We have $χ(G:\mathcal{P})\leq χ_\ell(G:\mathcal{P})\leq χ_{\rm DP}(G:\mathcal{P})$. In this paper we show that various fundamental coloring results, in particular, the theorems of Brooks, of Gallai, and of Erdős, Rubin and Taylor, have counterparts for the $\mathcal{P}$-DP-chromatic number. Furthermore, we provide a generalization of a result from 2000 about partition of graphs into a fixed number of induced subgraphs with bounded variable degeneracy due to Borodin, Kostochka, and Toft.
