Quantum properties of $\mathcal F$-cographs
We initiate a systematic study of quantum properties of finite graphs, namely, quantum asymmetry, quantum symmetry, and quantum isomorphism. We define the Schmidt alternative for a class of graphs, which reveals to be a useful tool for studying quantum symmetries of graphs. After showing that quantum isomorphic graphs have quantum isomorphic centers and connected components, we solve the aforementioned problems for the classes of cographs and forests. We also compute their quantum automorphism groups for the first time. In doing so, we extend to the noncommutative setting a theorem of Jordan. Using general results on $\mathcal F$-cographs, we extend the precedent results to $\mathcal G_5$-cographs and tree-cographs, two distinct strictly proper superclasses of cographs and forests respectively. Finally, we show that quantum isomorphic planar graphs are isomorphic.
Polynomial realizations of natural Hopf algebras of nonsymmetric operads
The natural Hopf algebra $\mathcal{N} \mathcal{O}$ of an operad $\mathcal{O}$ is a Hopf algebra whose bases are indexed by some words on $\mathcal{O}$. We introduce new bases of these Hopf algebras deriving from free operads via new lattice structures on their basis elements. We construct polynomial realizations of $\mathcal{N} \mathcal{O}$ by using alphabets of variables endowed with unary and binary relations. By specializing our polynomial realizations, we discover links between $\mathcal{N} \mathcal{O}$ and the Hopf algebra of word quasi-symmetric functions of Hivert, the decorated versions of the Connes-Kreimer Hopf algebra of Foissy, the Faà di Bruno Hopf algebra and its deformations, and the noncommutative multi-symmetric functions Hopf algebras of Novelli and Thibon.
Shuffle series

We apply operad theory to enumerative combinatorics in order to count the number of shuffles between series-parallel posets and chains. We work with three types of shuffles, two of them noncommutative, for example a left deck-divider shuffle $A$ between $P$ and $Q$ is a shuffle of the posets in which, on every maximal chain $m\subset A$, the minimum and maximum elements belong to $P$ and no two consecutive points of $Q$ appear consecutively on $m$. The number of left deck-divider shuffles of $P$ and $Q$ differ from the number of left deck-divider shuffles of $Q$ and $P$.
The generating functions whose $n$ coefficient counts shuffles between a poset $P$ and $1<2<\cdots<n$ are called shuffle series. We explain how shuffle series are isomorphic to order series as algebras over the operad of series parallel posets.
The weak and strict order polynomials are well known in the literature. At the level of generating series, with the theory of sets with a negative number of elements, we introduce a third order series and prove a theorem in the style of Stanley's Reciprocity Theorem compatible with the structure of algebras over the operad of finite posets.
We conclude by describing the relationship of our work with the combinatorial properties of the operadic tensor product of free trees operads.
Alternating patterns in commutator monomials
Considering commutator monomials of the non-commutative associative variables $X_1,\ldots,X_n$; we determine the maximal possible number of alternating associative monomials in their noncommutative polynomial expansions. This is achieved by replacing generating functions with polytope sequences, which turn out to be finitely generated in some sense.
Noncommutative invariants of dihedral groups
We consider the 2-generated free metabelian associative and Lie algebras over the complex field and the invariants of the dihedral groups of finite order acting on these algebras. In the associative case we find a finite set of generators of the algebra of invariants. In the Lie case, when the algebra of invariants is not finitely generated, we give a minimal system of generators of the invariants in the commutator ideal as a module of the algebra of the invariants in the polynomial algebra in two variables. In both associative and Lie cases we compute the Hilbert series of the algebras of invariants.

The aim of this book is to provide an elementary introduction, complete with detailed proofs, to the celebrated tilings of the plane discovered by Sir Roger Penrose in the `70s. The book covers many aspects of Penrose tilings, including the study of the space parameterizing Penrose tilings from the point of view of Connes' Noncommutative Geometry.
Algebraic combinatorial optimization on the degree of determinants of noncommutative symbolic matrices
We address the computation of the degrees of minors of a noncommutative symbolic matrix of form \[
A[c] := \sum_{k=1}^m A_k t^{c_k} x_k, \] where $A_k$ are matrices over a field $\mathbb{K}$, $x_i$ are noncommutative variables, $c_k$ are integer weights, and $t$ is a commuting variable specifying the degree. This problem extends noncommutative Edmonds' problem (Ivanyos et al. 2017), and can formulate various combinatorial optimization problems. Extending the study by Hirai 2018, and Hirai, Ikeda 2022, we provide novel duality theorems and polyhedral characterization for the maximum degrees of minors of $A[c]$ of all sizes, and develop a strongly polynomial-time algorithm for computing them. This algorithm is viewed as a unified algebraization of the classical Hungarian method for bipartite matching and the weight-splitting algorithm for linear matroid intersection. As applications, we provide polynomial-time algorithms for weighted fractional linear matroid matching and linear optimization over rank-2 Brascamp-Lieb polytopes.

We prove a universal substitution formula that compares generating series of Euler characteristics of Nakajima quiver varieties associated with affine ADE diagrams at generic and at certain nongeneric stability conditions via a study of collapsing fibres in the associated variation of GIT map, unifying and generalising earlier results of the last two authors with Némethi and of Nakajima. As a special case, we compute generating series of Euler characteristics of noncommutative Quot schemes of Kleinian orbifolds. In type A and rank 1, we give a second, combinatorial proof of our substitution formula, using torus localisation and partition enumeration. This gives a combinatorial model of the fibers of the variation of GIT map, and also leads to relations between our results and the representation theory of the affine and finite Lie algebras in type A.
Operations on the set of scalar and matrix-valued quiddity sequences
Our purpose with this paper is, in first place, to recast the space of quiddity sequences corresponding to usual frieze patterns as a different type of SET operad, and second to introduce and study $\mathfrak{M}$-quiddity sequences where $\mathfrak{M}$ is a monodromy block matrix of order two. Also, we examine some related topic as are the possibility of to define matrix-valued friezes patterns and noncommutative signed Chebyshev polynomials.
A central limit theorem in the framework of the Thompson group $F$
We discuss a central limit theorem in the framework of the group algebra of the Thompson group $F$. We consider the sequence of self-adjoint elements given by $a_n=\frac{g_n+g_n^{*}}{\sqrt{2}}$ in the noncommutative probability space $(\mathbb{C}(F),\varphi)$, where the expectation functional $\varphi$ is the trace associated to the left regular representation of $F$, and the $g_n$-s are the generators of $F$ in its standard infinite presentation. We show that the limit law of the sequence $s_n = \frac{a_0+\cdots+a_{n-1}}{\sqrt{n}}$ is the standard normal distribution.

This is an abridged version of our Habilitation thesis. In these notes, we aim to summarize our research interests and achievements as well as motivate what drives our work: symmetry, structure and invariants. The paradigmatic example which permeates and often inspires our research is the Weyl algebra $\mathbb{A}_{1}$.
General Capelli-type identities

The classical Capelli identity is an important determinantal identity of a matrix with noncommutative entries that determines the center of the enveloping algebra of the general linear Lie algebra, and was used by Weyl as a main tool to study irreducible representations in his famous book on classical groups.
In 1996 Okounkov found higher Capelli identities involving immanants of the generating matrix of $U(gl(n))$ which correspond to arbitrary orthogonal idempotent of the symmetric group. It turns out that Williamson also discovered a general Capelli identity of immanants for $U(gl(n))$ in 1981. In this paper, we use a new method to derive a family of even more general Capelli identities that include the aforementioned Capelli identities as special cases as well as many other Capelli-type identities as corollaries. In particular, we obtain generalized Turnbull's identities for both symmetric and antisymmetric matrices, as well as the generalized Howe-Umeda-Kostant-Sahi identities for antisymmetric matrices which confirm the conjecture of Caracciolo, Sokal, and Sportiello.
Tree expansions of some Lie idempotents}
We prove that the Catalan Lie idempotent $D_n(a,b)$, introduced in
[Menous {\it et al.}, Adv. Appl. Math. 51 (2013), 177] can be
refined by introducing $n$ independent parameters $a_0,\ldots,a_{n-1}$
and that the coefficient of each monomial is itself a Lie idempotent
in the descent algebra. These new idempotents are multiplicity-free
sums of subsets of the Poincaré-Birkhoff-Witt basis of the Lie module.
These results are obtained by embedding noncommutative symmetric functions into the
dual noncommutative Connes-Kreimer algebra, which also allows us to interpret, and rederive in a simpler way,
Chapoton's results on a two-parameter tree expanded series.

For a quiver $Q$, we define a path algebra $KQ$ as a span of all the paths of positive length. We study left (respective right) sided ideals and their Gröbner bases. We introduce the two-sided ideals, two-sided division algorithm for elements of $KQ$ and study the two-sided Gröbner bases. We show that with the defined two-sided division algorithm and two-sided Buchberger's algorithm, we can find a finite or an infinite Gröbner basis for a two-sided ideal $I \subseteq KQ$ given a fixed admissible ordering.
On Generalized Wilf Conjectures
We investigate complement-finite submonoids of the monoid of nonnegative integer points of a unipotent linear algebraic group $G$. These monoids are in general noncommutative but they specialize to the generalized numerical monoids of Cistco et al. We show that every unipotent numerical monoid has a unique finite minimal generating set. We propose a generalization of the Wilf conjecture in our setting. We contrast our Wilf conjecture against the Generalized Wilf Conjecture. Then we isolate two new families of unipotent numerical monoids called the {\em thick} and the {\em thin} unipotent numerical monoids. We prove that our Wilf conjecture holds for every thick (commutative) unipotent numerical monoid. Under additional assumptions on the conductors, we prove that our Wilf conjecture holds for every thin (commutative) unipotent numerical monoid.
Noncommutative symmetric functions and skewing operators

Skewing operators play a central role in the symmetric function theory because of the importance of the product structure of the symmetric function space. The theory of noncommutative symmetric functions is a useful tool for studying expansions of a given symmetric function in terms of various bases. In this paper, we establish a further development of the theory for studying skewing operators. Using this machinery, we are able to easily reproduce the Littlewood--Richardson rule, and provide recurrence relations for chromatic quasisymmetric functions, which generalizes Harada--Precup's recurrence.
A noncommutative approach to the Schur positivity of chromatic symmetric functions
We obtain the Schur positivity of spider graphs of the forms $S(a,2,1)$ and $S(a,4,1)$, which are considered to have the simpliest structures for which the Schur positivity was unknown. The proof outline has four steps. First, we find noncommutative analogs for the chromatic symmetric functions of the spider graphs $S(a,b,1)$. Secondly, we expand the analogs under the $Λ$- and $R$-bases, whose commutative images are the elementary and skew Schur symmetric functions, respectively. Thirdly, we recognize the Schur coefficients via the Littlewood--Richardson rule in terms of norms of multisets of Yamanouchi words. At last we establish the Schur positivity combinatorially together with the aid of computer assistance.
Do K33-Free Latin Squares Exist?
We discuss the problem of existence of latin squares without a substructure consisting of six elements $(r_1,c_2,l_3)$, $(r_2,c_3,l_1)$, $(r_3,c_1,l_2)$, $(r_2,c_1,l_3)$, $(r_3,c_2,l_1)$, $(r_1,c_3,l_2)$. Equivalently, the corresponding latin square graph does not have an induced subgraph isomorphic to $K_{3,3}$. The exhaustive search [Brouwer, Wanless. Universally noncommutative loops. 2011] says that there are no such latin squares of order $3$--$7$, $9$--$11$ and there are only two $K_{3,3}$-free latin squares of order $8$, up to equivalence. We repeat the search, establishing also the number of latin $m$-by-$n$ rectangles for each $m$ and $n$ less than or equal to $11$. As a switched combination of two orthogonal latin squares of order $8$, we construct a $K_{3,3}$-free (universally noncommutative) latin square of order $16$.
We also consider a similar problem for orthogonal latin squares, proving that there are both $K_{4,4}$-free and non-$K_{4,4}$-free linear pairs of orthogonal latin squares for each odd prime-power order larger than~$5$.

Noncommutative binomial theorem, shuffle type polynomials and Bell polynomials
In this paper we use the Lyndon-Shirshov basis to study the shuffle type polynomials. We give a free noncommutative binomial (or multinomial) theorem in terms of the Lyndon-Shirshov basis. Another noncommutative binomial theorem given by the shuffle type polynomials with respect to an adjoint derivation is established. As a result, the Bell differential polynomials and the $q$-Bell differential polynomials can be derived from the second binomial theorem. The relation between the shuffle type polynomials and the Bell differential polynomials is established. Finally, we give some applications of the free noncommutative binomial theorem including application of the shuffle type polynomials to bialgebras and Hopf algebras.
An extension to "A subsemigroup of the rook monoid"
A recent paper studied an inverse submonoid $M_n$ of the rook monoid, by representing the nonzero elements of $M_n$ via certain triplets belonging to $\mathbb{Z}^3$. In this short note, we allow the triplets to belong to $\mathbb{R}^3$. We thus study a new inverse monoid $\overline{M}_n$, which is a supermonoid of $M_n$. We point out similarities and find essential differences. We show that $\overline{M}_n$ is a noncommutative, periodic, combinatorial, fundamental, completely semisimple, and strongly $E^*$-unitary inverse monoid.
