A short proof of Isserlis' theorem
We show that Isserlis' theorem follows as a corollary to the invariant tensor theorem for isotropic tensors.
On the module of derivations of a line arrangement
To each multiple point $p$ in a line arrangement $ \mathcal A$ in the complex projective plane we associate a local derivation $\tilde D_p \in D_0( \mathcal A)$. We show first that these derivations span the graded module of derivations $D_0( \mathcal A)$ in all degrees $\geq d -3$, where $d$ is the number of lines in $ \mathcal A$, see Theorem 1.4 and Theorem 1.6. Then, to each local derivation $\tilde D_p \in D_0( \mathcal A)$ we associate a polynomial $g_p$ which seems to play a key role in the characterization of the freeness of $ \mathcal A$, see Theorem 1.10, as well as in the study of the position of the multiple points of $ \mathcal A$ with respect to unions of lines, see Corollary 1.13 and Conjecture 1.14. Corollary 1.9 gives a result of an independent interest, namely a lower bound for the maximal exponent of a plane curve having a line as an irreducible component.
Volume Rigidity of Simplicial Manifolds
Classical results of Cauchy and Dehn imply that the 1-skeleton of a convex polyhedron $P$ is rigid i.e. every continuous motion of the vertices of $P$ in $\mathbb R^3$ which preserves its edge lengths results in a polyhedron which is congruent to $P$. This result was extended to convex poytopes in $\mathbb R^d$ for all $d\geq 3$ by Whiteley, and to generic realisations of 1-skeletons of simplicial $(d-1)$-manifolds in $\mathbb R^{d}$ by Kalai for $d\geq 4$ and Fogelsanger for $d\geq 3$. We will generalise Kalai's result by showing that, for all $d\geq 4$ and any fixed $1\leq k\leq d-3$, every generic realisation of the $k$-skeleton of a simplicial $(d-1)$-manifold in $\mathbb R^{d}$ is volume rigid, i.e. every continuous motion of its vertices in $\mathbb R^d$ which preserves the volumes of its $k$-faces results in a congruent realisation. In addition, we conjecture that our result remains true for $k=d-2$ and verify this conjecture when $d=4,5,6$.
Positive Polytopes with Few Facets in the Grassmannian
In this article we study adjoint hypersurfaces of geometric objects obtained by intersecting simple polytopes with few facets in $\mathbb{P}^5$ with the Grassmannian $\mathrm{Gr}(2,4)$. These generalize the positive Grassmannian, which is the intersection of $\mathrm{Gr}(2,4)$ with the simplex. We show that if the resulting object has five facets, it is a positive geometry and the adjoint hypersurface is unique. For the case of six facets we show that the adjoint hypersurface is not necessarily unique and give an upper bound on the dimension of the family of adjoints. We illustrate our results with a range of examples. In particular, we show that even if the adjoint is not unique, a positive hexahedron can still be a positive geometry.
On the $k$-volume rigidity of a simplicial complex in $\mathbb{R}^d$
We define a generic rigidity matroid for $k$-volumes of a simplicial complex in $\mathbb{R}^d$, and prove that for $2\leq k \leq d-1$ it has the same rank as the classical generic $d$-rigidity matroid on the same vertex set (namely, the case $k=1$). This is in contrast with the $k=d$ case, previously studied by Lubetzky and Peled, which presents a different behavior. We conjecture a characterization for the bases of this matroid in terms of $d$-rigidity of the $1$-skeleton of the complex and a combinatorial Hall condition on incidences of edges in $k$-faces.
Diameter and Girth of Representation Graphs of Quadratic Forms
Let $q$ be a non-degenerate quadratic form defined on an $F$ vector space $V$ and $a \in F$. We consider the Cayley graph on $V$ with generating set $\{x \in V \mid q(x) = a\}$ and study its diameter and girth. In particular, if $F$ is a finite field, we calculate these invariants and the number of cycles of minimal length in these graphs.
Towards Graham's rearrangement conjecture via rainbow paths
We study an old question in combinatorial group theory which can be traced back to a conjecture of Graham from 1971. Given a group $Γ$, and some subset $S\subseteq Γ$, is it possible to permute $S$ as $s_1, s_2, \ldots, s_d$ so that the partial products $\prod_{1 \leq i \leq t} s_i$, $t\in [d]$ are all distinct? Most of the progress towards this problem has been in the case when $Γ$ is a cyclic group. We show that for any group $Γ$ and any $S \subseteq Γ$, there is a permutation of $S$ where all but a vanishing proportion of the partial products are distinct, thereby establishing the first asymptotic version of Graham's conjecture under no restrictions on $Γ$ or $S$.
To do so, we explore a natural connection between Graham's problem and the following very natural question attributed to Schrijver. Given a $d$-regular graph $G$ properly edge-coloured with $d$ colours, is it always possible to find a rainbow path with $d-1$ edges? We settle this question asymptotically by showing one can find a rainbow path of length $d - o(d)$. While this has immediate applications to Graham's question for example when $Γ= \mathbb{F}_2^k$, our general result above requires a more involved result we obtain for the natural directed analogue of Schrijver's question.
Cyclic subsets in regular Dirac graphs
In 1996, in his last paper, Erdős asked the following question that he formulated together with Faudree: is there a positive $c$ such that any $(n+1)$-regular graph $G$ on $2n$ vertices contains at least $c 2^{2n}$ distinct vertex-subsets $S$ that are cyclic, meaning that there is a cycle in $G$ using precisely the vertices in $S$. We answer this question in the affirmative in a strong form by proving the following exact result: if $n$ is sufficiently large and $G$ minimises the number of cyclic subsets then $G$ is obtained from the complete bipartite graph $K_{n-1,n+1}$ by adding a $2$-factor (a spanning collection of vertex-disjoint cycles) within the part of size $n+1$. In particular, for $n$ large, this implies that the optimal $c$ in the problem is precisely $1/2$.
A formula for the number of up-down words
A word $w_1w_2\cdots w_n$ is said to be up-down if $w_1 < w_2 >w_3 \cdots$. Carlitz and Scoville found the generating function for the number of up-down words over an alphabet of size $k$. Using properties of the Chebyshev polynomials we derive a closed-form formula for these numbers.
A remark on the independence number of sparse random Cayley sum graphs
The Cayley sum graph $Γ_S$ of a set $S \subseteq \mathbb{Z}_n$ is defined on the vertex set $\mathbb{Z}_n$, with an edge between distinct $x, y \in \mathbb{Z}_n$ if $x + y \in S$. Campos, Dahia, and Marciano have recently shown that if $S$ is formed by taking each element in $\mathbb{Z}_n$ independently with probability $p$, for $p > (\log n)^{-1/80}$, then with high probability the largest independent set in $Γ_S$ is of size $$
(2 + o(1)) \log_{1/(1-p)}(n). $$ This extends a result of Green and Morris, who considered the case $p = 1/2$, and asymptotically matches the independence number of the binomial random graph $G(n,p)$. We improve the range of $p$ for which this holds to $p > (\log n)^{-1/3 + o(1)}$. The heavy lifting has been done by Campos, Dahia, and Marciano, and we show that their key lemma can be used a bit more efficiently.
On the model theory of the Farey graph
We axiomatize the theory of the Farey graph and prove that it is $ω$-stable of Morley rank $ω$.
Symmetries of the q-deformed real projective line
We generalize in two steps the quantized action of the modular group on $q$-deformed real numbers introduced by Morier-Genoud and Ovsienko. First, we let the projective general linear group $PGL_2(\mathbb{Z})$ act on $q$-real numbers via a $q$-deformed action. The quantized matrices we get have combinatorial interpretations. Then we consider an extension of the group $PGL_2(\mathbb{Z})$ by the $2$-elements cyclic group, and define a quantized action of this extension on $q$-real numbers. We deduce from these actions some underlying relations between $q$-real numbers, and between left and right versions of $q$-deformed rational numbers. In particular we investigate the case of some algebraic numbers of degree $4$ and $6$. We also prove that the way of quantizing real numbers defined by Morier-Genoud and Ovsienko is an injective process.

This paper characterises the structure of every maximal weak or strong Gallai-Schur partition.
The results confirm the exact values of Gallai-Schur numbers provided by Budden (2020) in the strong case, and provide corresponding values for weak Gallai-Schur numbers. The proofs are elementary and standalone.
Interval H-graphs : Recognition and forbidden obstructions
We introduce the class of interval $H$-graphs, which is the generalization of interval graphs, particularly interval bigraphs. For a fixed graph $H$ with vertices $a_1,a_2,\dots,a_k$, we say that an input graph $G$ with given partition $V_1,\dots,V_k$ of its vertices is an interval $H$-graph if each vertex $v \in G$ can be represented by an interval $I_v$ from a real line so that $u \in V_i$ and $v \in V_j$ are adjacent if and only if $a_ia_j$ is an edge of $H$ and intervals $I_u$ and $I_v$ intersect. $G$ is called interval $k$-graph if $H$ is a complete graph on $k$ vertices. and interval bigraph when $k=2$. We study the ordering characterization and forbidden obstructions of interval $k$-graphs and present a polynomial-time recognition algorithm for them. Additionally, we discuss how this algorithm can be extended to recognize general interval $H$-graphs. Special cases of interval $k$-graphs, particularly comparability interval $k$-graphs, were previously studied in [2], where the complexity interval $k$-graph recognition was posed as an open problem.
The structures of simple Hurwitz numbers and monotone Hurwitz numbers with varying genus
We study the structures of ordinary simple Hurwitz numbers and monotone Hurwitz numbers with varying genus. More precisely, we prove that when the ramification type is fixed and the genus is treated as a variable, the connected monotone Hurwitz number is a linear combination of products of exponentials and polynomials, and the ordinary simple Hurwitz number is a linear combination of exponentials. Using these structural properties, we also derive the large genus asymptotics of these two kinds of Hurwitz numbers. As a result, we prove one conjecture, and disprove another, both proposed by Do, He and Robertson.
Endomorphism and Automorphism Graphs
Let $G$ be a group. The directed endomorphism graph, \dend of $G$ is a directed graph with vertex set $G$ and there is a directed edge from the vertex `$a$' to the vertex `$\, b$' $(a \neq b) $ if and only if there exists an endomorphism on $G$ mapping $a$ to $b$. The endomorphism graph, \uend $\,$ of $G$ is the corresponding undirected simple graph. The automorphism graph, ${Auto}(G)$ of $G$ is an undirected graph with vertex set $G$ and there is an edge from the vertex `$a$' to the vertex `$\,b$' $(a \neq b) $ if and only if there exists an automorphism on $G$ mapping $a$ to $b$. We have explored graph theoretic properties like size, planarity, girth etc. and tried finding out for which types of groups these graphs are complete, diconnected, trees, bipartite and so on.

We study $q$-deformation of probability measures on partitions, i.e., $q$-deformed random partitions. We in particular consider the $q$-Plancherel measure and show a determinantal formula for the correlation function using a $q$-deformation of the discrete Bessel kernel. We also investigate Riemann-Hilbert problems associated with the corresponding orthogonal polynomials and obtain $q$-Painlevé equations from the $q$-difference Lax formalism.
$K_{2,3}$-induced minor-free graphs admit quasi-isometry with additive distortion to graphs of tree-width at most two
A graph $H$ is an \emph{induced minor} of a graph $G$ if $H$ can be obtained from $G$ by a sequence of edge contractions and vertex deletions. Otherwise, $G$ is \emph{$H$-induced minor-free}. In this paper, we provide a different proof of the fact that $K_{2,3}$-induced minor-free graphs admit a quasi-isometry with additive distortion to graphs with tree-width at most two. Our proof yields a $O(nm)$-time algorithm which takes as input a $K_{2,3}$-induced minor-free graph with $n$ vertices and $m$ edges, and outputs a tree-width two graph $H$ with the desired additive distortion. For \emph{universally signable} graphs, a subclass of $K_{2,3}$-induced minor-free graphs, the time complexity of our algorithm is linear. As a consequence, we obtain a truly sub-quadratic time additive constant factor approximation algorithm to compute the \emph{diameter} of a universally signable graph. In contrast, assuming the \emph{Strong Exponential Time Hypothesis} (\textsc{SETH}), the diameter of split graphs (a very restricted class of universally signable graphs), cannot be computed in truly sub-quadratic time [Borassi et al. (ENTCS, 2016)].

We investigate the recently introduced inhomogeneous $n$-species $t$-PushTASEP, a long-range stochastic process on a periodic lattice. A Baxter-type formula is established, expressing the Markov matrix as an alternating sum of commuting transfer matrices over all the fundamental representations of $U_t(\widehat{sl}_{n+1})$. This superposition acts as an inclusion-exclusion principle, selectively extracting the sequential particle transitions characteristic of the PushTASEP, while canceling forbidden channels. The homogeneous specialization connects the PushTASEP to ASEP, showing that the two models share eigenstates and a common integrability structure.
On CI-property of normal Cayley digraphs over abelian groups
A Cayley digraph $Γ$ over a finite group $G$ is said to be CI if for every Cayley digraph $Γ^\prime$ over $G$ isomorphic to $Γ$, there is an isomorphism from $Γ$ to $Γ^\prime$ which is at the same time an automorphism of $G$. In the present paper, we study a CI-property of normal Cayley digraphs over abelian groups, i.e. such Cayley digraphs $Γ$ that the group $G_r$ of all right translations of $G$ is normal in $Aut(Γ)$. At first, we reduce the case of an arbitrary abelian group to the case of an abelian $p$-group. Further, we obtain several results on CI-property of normal Cayley digraphs over abelian $p$-groups. In particular, we prove that every normal Cayley digraph over an abelian $p$-group of order at most $p^5$, where $p$ is an odd prime, is CI.
