On the hamiltonicity problem of bicirculants: a reduction to cyclic Haar graphs
A bicirculant is a regular graph that admits an automorphism having two vertex-orbits of the same size. A bicirculant can be described as follows. Given an integer $m \ge 1$ and sets $R, S, T \subseteq \mathbb Z_m$ such that $R=-R$, $T=-T$, $0 \not\in R \cup T$ and $0 \in S$, the graph $B(m;R,S,T)$ has vertex set $V=\{u_0,\dots,u_{m-1},v_0,\dots,v_m-1\}$ and edge set $E=\{u_iu_{i+j}| \ i \in\mathbb Z_m, j \in R\} \cup \{v_iv_{i+j}| \ i \in\mathbb Z_m, j \in T\} \cup\{u_iv_{i+j}| \ i \in\mathbb Z_m, j \in S\}.$ Bicirculant graphs with $R=T=\emptyset$ are known as cyclic Haar graphs.
In 2025 we conjectured that the only non-hamiltonian graphs among regular connected bicirculants of degree more than one are the generalized Petersen graphs $G(m,2)$ with $m \equiv 5 \pmod 6$. Recently we have verified the conjecture for bicirculants with $|S|\le 2$ and for bicirculants with $|R|=|T|$ odd.
In this paper we show that the conjecture holds for all bicirculants with $|S| \le 3$ and for all bicirculants with $|S| \ge 4$ and $m/\gcd(m, S)$ even. As a byproduct of our results, we prove that every connected bicirculant graph on $2m$ vertices with $|S| \ge 4$ is hamiltonian for even $m< 9\, 240$, and for odd $m< 3\,465$. Finally, we show that the existence of a hamilton cycle in every connected cyclic Haar graph of valence at least $4$ implies that every connected bicirculant graph of valence at least $4$ is hamiltonian.
Spectral Perspectives on FAT Graph Colorings
We investigate Fair and Tolerant (FAT) graph colorings, a coloring framework in which each vertex is allowed to share its color with a prescribed fraction of its neighbors, while the remaining neighbors are required to be distributed evenly among the other coloring classes. In particular, we determine the FAT chromatic number for all complete multipartite graphs, and we analyze the behavior of FAT colorings under several graph operations. Although spectral methods form the primary focus, several combinatorial arguments are included to complement the results.
Anti-Ramsey numbers for cancellative configurations in p-graphs
We study edge-colorings of the complete $p$-graph on $n$ vertices that contain no three edges $A,B,C$ of distinct colors such that the symmetric difference of $A$ and $B$ is contained in $C$.
For $p\ge3$ and $n\ge p+1$, we show that every such coloring contains at most $1+\floor{n/p}$ colors and characterize the extremal colorings, generalizing a theorem of Erdős, Simonovits and Sós. %\cite{erdos1975}.
When $p=3$, the condition $A\triangle B\subseteq C$ implies $|A\triangle B|=2$, and the three edges necessarily form a copy of $F_4\coloneqq\{abc,abd,bcd\}$ or $F_5\coloneqq\{abc,abd,cde\}$.
For $n\ge5$, we show that every rainbow $F_5$-free edge-coloring is rainbow cancellative.
For rainbow $F_4$-free colorings, we construct colorings with $m(n)+1$ colors for all $n\ge4$, where $m(n)$ is the size of a maximum partial Steiner triple system of order $n$ and satisfies $m(n)=n^2/6+O(n)$, improving the linear lower bound by Budden and Stiles. %\cite{budden}.
Moreover, for $n=2^s-1$, we obtain $\ar(n,F_4)\ge m(n)+n^2/42+o(n^2)=4n^2/21+o(n^2)$ via a construction based on independent sets in the Grassmann graph.
We also prove that $\ar(n,F_4)\le (5n^2-8n)/21$ for $n\ge4$, improving the quadratic coefficient in the upper bound of Budden and Stiles from $1/4$ to $5/21$.
Straight polyomino tilings of rectangles and special rim-hook tableaux
We derive explicit rational generating functions for weighted tilings of $2k\times n$ rectangles by straight $k\times 1$ tiles. Our approach combines a decomposition by fault lines with a Hadamard-product framework. Tools from algebraic combinatorics are used together with a theorem of Klivans and Reiner on Schur expansions of plethystic compositions of elementary symmetric functions. This translates the tiling problem into a combinatorial framework via special rim-hook tableaux. On the tiling side, Graham's theorem on fault-free tilings provides the key input needed to complete the analysis.
Counting sunflowers with restricted matching number
For a family $\mathcal{H} \subseteq \binom{[n]}{k}$, a subset $\{A_1, A_2, \ldots, A_m\} \subseteq \mathcal{H}$ is called a \textit{matching} of size~$m$ if the sets $A_1, A_2, \ldots, A_m$ are pairwise disjoint. The \textit{matching number} of $\mathcal{H}$, denoted by $ν(\mathcal{H})$, is the largest integer~$m$ for which such a matching exists. $\{A_1,A_2,\ldots,A_l\}\subseteq \binom{[n]}{k}$ is said to be a \textit{$k$-uniform sunflower} with $l$ \textit{petals}, if there exists a core set $C\subseteq[n]$ contained in every $A_i$ and $A_i\setminus C$ are pairwise disjoint, for $1\leq i\leq l$. Let $S_{k,l}^{k-1}$ denote the $k$-uniform sunflower with $l$ petals and the core set of size $k-1$. The \textit{codegree} of $E$ in $\mathcal{H}$, denoted by $d_{\mathcal{H}}(E)$, is defined as $d_{\mathcal{H}}(E) =|\{F\in \mathcal{H}:E\subseteq F\}|$. Let the \textit{$\ell_p$-norm} of $\mathcal{H}$ be $co_p(\mathcal{H})= \sum_{E\in \binom{[n]}{k-1}}(d_{\mathcal{H}}(E))^p$. For sufficiently large $n$, we determine the maximum $\ell_p$-norm and the maximum number of sunflowers $S_{k,l}^{k-1}$ for a family $\mathcal{F} \subseteq \binom{[n]}{k}$ with matching number $ν(\mathcal{F}) = s$. These results can be viewed as a Turán-type problem (specifically $\mathrm{ex}_k(n, S_{k,l}^{k-1}, M_s)$) and a generalization of the Erdős Matching Conjecture. Furthermore, for the case $k = 3$, we establish a linear threshold for $n$.
Kneser Graphs of Triangulations are Hamiltonian
For every $n \geq 5$, we show that the Kneser graph of triangulations of a convex $n$-gon contains a Hamiltonian cycle.
Hodge theory for combinatorial projective bundles
We prove the Hard Lefschetz theorem and Hodge-Riemann relations for certain rings which resemble the cohomology rings of projectivizations of globally generated vector bundles over toric varieties. This proves new cases of the standard conjecture of Hodge type and gives Bloch-Gieseker-type results for tautological classes of matroids.
Sharp bounds for covering with large cliques and independent sets
Let $n(k_1, k_2)$ be the least integer $n$ such that there exists a graph on $n$ vertices in which every vertex is contained in both a clique of size $k_1$ and an independent set of size $k_2$. Recently, Feige and Pauzner showed that ${n(k, k) \geq 4k-O(k^\frac{2}{3})}$, and conjectured that $n(k,k)=4k-4$. We prove this conjecture, and also establish the optimal lower bound in the more general case where $k_1$ and $k_2$ are arbitrary. We further consider the generalisation of the problem to $r$-edge-coloured complete graphs in which every vertex is contained in a size-$k$ monochromatic clique of each colour, and obtain upper and lower bounds on the size of such graphs.
A construction of the hat tilings by a Markov partition
We present a simple construction of hat tilings. The construction can be carried out by superimposing a triangular grid on a specially colored image and reading off the orientation of the tiles. We show that our construction produces valid hat tilings, and conversely, in an appropriate sense that is made precise in the paper, that every valid hat tiling can be obtained in this way.
Some Results on Additively Graceful Signed Stars and Double Stars
We study additively graceful labelings of signed graphs on stars and double stars. While the case of signed stars is straightforward, the problem becomes significantly more intricate for signed double stars. We obtain a characterization of additively graceful signed stars, while, for several sub-classes of additively graceful signed double stars, we establish existence, uniqueness and non-existence results.
Intersection numbers of Sudoku latin squares
Let $n=hw$, where $h$ and $w$ are integers with $h,w \ge 2$. We determine the set of possible intersection numbers of two $n \times n$ latin squares having the additional `Sudoku' constraint based on a $w \times h$ grid of $h \times w$ boxes.
Carathéodory Number in Cycle Convexity
Let $G$ be a graph and $S \subseteq V(G)$. In the cycle convexity, we say that $S$ is \textit{cycle convex} if for any $u\in V(G)\setminus S$, the induced subgraph of $S\cup\{u\}$ contains no cycle that includes $u$. The \textit{cycle convex hull} of $S$, denoted by $\hullc (S)$, is the smallest cycle convex set containing $S$. A set $S \subseteq V(G)$ is said to be \textit{Carathéodory independent} if there exists a vertex $u \in \hullc(S) $ such that $u \notin\displaystyle \bigcup_{a \in S} \hullc (S \setminus \{a\}) $, and the Carathéodory number $\car(G)$ is the maximum size of such a set. In this paper, we prove that given a graph $G$ and $k \in \mathbb{N}$, deciding whether $\car(G) \geq k$ is \NP-complete, even when $G$ is bipartite. On the other hand, we derive exact values and constant upper bounds for several graph classes, leading to polynomial-time algorithms. Some of them include forests, cycles, complete graphs, complete multipartite, split, and $P_4$-sparse graphs. In addition, we present a characterization of $n$-vertex graphs $G$ with extremal values near to $n$, including $\car(G) = n-1$ and $\car(G) = n-2$. Furthermore, we investigate the behavior of the Carathéodory number under graph products such as the strong, lexicographic, and Cartesian products.
Monochromatic Sums and Quotients Near Zero
Recently S. Goswami proved that whenever the set $\mathbb N$ of natural numbers is finitely colored, the set $\{a, b, ab, b(a+1)\}$ is monochromatic which also established a variant of the long-standing Hindman's conjecture, which asks for a monochromatic set of the form $\{a, b, ab, a+b\}$. Actually he disproved a conjecture proposed by J. Sahasrabudhe that $\{a, b, a(b + 1)\}$ is not partition regular. In this paper we prove that $\{a, b, ab, b(a+1)\}$ is monochromatic near zero which means for every finite coloring of a dense subsemigroups of $((0, \infty), +)$, the set $\{a, b, ab, b(a+1)\}$ is monochromatic near zero or in other words, we will get $a, b$ in a dense subsemigroups of $((0, \infty), +)$ as small as we want such that the set $\{a, b, ab, b(a+1)\}$ is monochromatic for every finite coloring of that dense subsemigroups of $((0, \infty), +)$, also we show that the pattern $x, y, x+y, \frac{y}{x}$ is partition regular near zero.
Combinatorial Geometry of Erdős--Szekeres Type Problems: SAT/ASP Modeling and Linear Subreduction
This paper investigates several classical and novel variations of the Erdős--Szekeres problem, including multicolored point sets, convex hexagons with a given number of interior points, and polygons with constraints on edge colors. We propose a comprehensive computational framework combining combinatorial modeling within the SAT/ASP paradigms with the geometric realization of configurations. To determine point coordinates, we developed the \textbf{linear subreduction method}. The core idea consists of combining the complete logical model of the problem with a system of geometric inequalities, followed by fixing the abscissae to linearize the constraints. This approach enables a simultaneous search for a realization across the entire space of admissible abstract configurations (signotopes) rather than examining them individually, while linearization significantly accelerates the SMT solving process. Using this framework, we established new exact values for several functions; in particular, we proved $h_{nc}(4,0; 4,0)=26$: any bicolored set of 26 points in general position must contain the vertices of an empty monochromatic quadrilateral.
Quantum Super Littlewood Correspondences
In this paper, we study the Littlewood theory associated with the quantum super immanants and supersymmetric polynomials, including both the super case and the quantum generalization. In the setting of quantum super Schur-Weyl duality between the quantum superalgebra $U_q(\mathfrak{gl}_{m|n})$ and the Iwahori-Hecke algebra $\mathcal{H}_r$ of type A, we explicitly construct basis vectors of the $(U_q(\mathfrak{gl}_{m|n}), \mathcal{H}_r)$-bimodule on the tensor product space $(\mathbb{C}^{m|n})^{\otimes r}$. Using this construction, we interpret the quantum super immanants via weight spaces of covariant tensor representations of $U_q(\mathfrak{gl}_{m|n})$.
Entropy lower bounds and sum-product phenomena
Various lower bounds are established for the entropy of sums, products and their combinations. First, we derive a prime-field analogue of a version of the entropy power inequality established by Tao over torsion-free groups. Next, we prove an entropy sum-product statement: For independent and identically distributed random variables $X,X'$, the maximum of ${\bf H}(X+X')$ and ${\bf H}(XX')$ is bounded below by a linear combination of the entropy and the min-entropy (Rényi entropy of order~$\infty$) of $X$. This result, obtained by bounding entropies of the form ${\bf H}\bigl( X(Y+Z)\bigr)$ from above and below, is valid over arbitrary fields $F$. Over $F={\bf R}$, a slightly stronger inequality is derived. Finally, a weak version of a purely Shannon-entropic sum-product result is developed: If the entropic additive doubling of a random variable $X$ over an arbitrary field is $O(1)$, then its multiplicative doubling is at least proportional to ${\bf H}(X)$.
Higher rank Gelfand-Kapranov-Zelevinsky fans
We define and study the higher rank GKZ-fans of point configurations, where the rank one cases coincide with the usual GKZ-fans. A point in a higher rank GKZ-fan is then used to construct higher rank quasi-valuations to degenerate the toric variety associated to the point configuration flatly to a reduced union of toric varieties. Such a union encodes the polytopal subdivision arising from the point in the higher rank GKZ-fan.
Globally Simple Heffter Arrays $H(n;k)$ with $k \equiv 1 \pmod{4}$
Heffter arrays are combinatorial structures used to construct orthogonal cyclic cycle decompositions and biembeddings of complete graphs onto surfaces. A Heffter array $H(m,n;h,k)$ is an $m \times n$ partially filled array with distinct nonzero entries from $\mathbb{Z}_{2nk+1}$ such that each row contains $h$ filled cells, each column contains $k$ filled cells, the elements in the filled cells form a half-set of $\mathbb{Z}_{2nk+1}$, and every row and column sums to zero modulo $2nk+1$. If these row and column sums equal zero over the integers, the structure is called an integer Heffter array. Furthermore, such an array is called globally simple if the partial sums of the entries in each row and column, evaluated in their natural order, are distinct modulo $2nk+1$. When $m=n$ and $h=k$, the array is square and denoted by $H(n;k)$. While the existence of globally simple square Heffter arrays has been established for several congruence classes, the cases where $k \equiv 1,2 \pmod{4}$ for $k > 10$ have remained an open problem [1]. In this work, we address this gap in the literature by explicitly constructing globally simple integer Heffter arrays $H(n;k)$ for the previously open cases where $k \equiv 1 \pmod{4}$ and $n \equiv 0,3 \pmod{4}$. Consequently, these constructions guarantee the existence of orthogonal cyclic $k$-cycle decompositions of the complete graph $K_{2nk+1}$ for these parameters.

Using results of Fayers on the structure of Specht modules, we prove two different formulae for the determinant of matrices which are obtained by amalgamating the entries of two smaller matrices. In particular, this gives formulae for multivariable Vandermonde determinants as a sum of completely factorising terms, each of which is a Vandermonde determinant in fewer variables. As an application, we deduce an elementary proof of the multiplicativity of the transfinite diameter for products of compact sets.
Intersecting families with bounded intersections
Let $\mathcal F\subset 2^{[n]}$ be an $s$-uniform family such that every two distinct sets have a nonempty intersection but intersect in at most $k$ elements. By the well-known Ray-Chaudhuri--Wilson theorem, since the intersections can take at most $k$ different values, we have $|\mathcal F|\leq \binom{n}{k}$. We give a stronger upper bound under our assumptions above, when $n$ is large enough compared to $s$ (and $k+1<s$): $|\mathcal F|\leq \frac{\binom{n-1}{k}}{\binom{s-1}{k}}$. Furthermore, we prove a generalization of the Erd\H os--Ko--Rado theorem for non-uniform families. Let $\mathcal F\subset \binom{[n]}{k}\cup\binom{[n]}{k+1}\cup\dots\cup\binom{[n]}{s}$, $3\leq k\leq s$, be a family such that for every two distinct sets
the size of the intersection is between 1 and $k-1$ and $n$ is large enough then $|\mathcal F|\leq {n-1 \choose k-1}$.
