Antimagic labellings of (k, 2)-bipartite biregular graphs
An antimagic labelling of a graph is a bijection from the set of edges to $\{1, 2, \ldots , m\}$, such that all vertex-sums are pairwise distinct, where the vertex-sum of a vertex is the sum of labels on the edges incident to it. We say a graph is antimagic if it has an antimagic labelling. In 2023, it has been proven that connected $(k, l)$-bipartite graphs are antimagic if $k \geq l + 2$ and one of k or l is odd. In this paper, we extend this result to connected $(k, 2)$-bipartite biregular graphs for $k \geq 4$ even, and to $(k, 2)$-bipartite biregular graphs for $k \geq 3$ odd.

The 2-factor Hamiltonicity Conjecture by Funk, Jackson, Labbate, and Sheehan [JCTB, 2003] asserts that all cubic, bipartite graphs in which all 2-factors are Hamiltonian cycles can be built using a simple operation starting from $K_{3,3}$ and the Heawood graph.
We discuss the link between this conjecture and matching theory, in particular by showing that this conjecture is equivalent to the statement that the two exceptional graphs in the conjecture are the only cubic braces in which all 2-factors are Hamiltonian cycles, where braces are connected, bipartite graphs in which every matching of size at most two is contained in a perfect matching. In the context of matching theory this conjecture is especially noteworthy as $K_{3,3}$ and the Heawood graph are both strongly tied to the important class of Pfaffian graphs, with $K_{3,3}$ being the canonical non-Pfaffian graph and the Heawood graph being one of the most noteworthy Pfaffian graphs.
Our main contribution is a proof that the Heawood graph is the only Pfaffian, cubic brace in which all 2-factors are Hamiltonian cycles. This is shown by establishing that, aside from the Heawood graph, all Pfaffian braces contain a cycle of length four, which may be of independent interest.
The generalized Tur'{a}n number of long cycles in graphs and bipartite graphs
Given a graph $T$ and a family of graphs $\mathcal{F}$, the maximum number of copies of $T$ in an $\mathcal{F}$-free graph on $n$ vertices is called the generalized Turán number, denoted by $ex(n, T , \mathcal{F})$. When $T= K_2$, it reduces to the classical Turán number $ex(n, \mathcal{F})$.
Let $ex_{bip}(b,n, T , \mathcal{F})$ be the maximum number of copies of $T$ in an $\mathcal{F}$-free bipartite graph with
two parts of sizes $b$ and $n$, respectively. Let $P_k$ be the path on $k$ vertices, $\mathcal{C}_{\ge k}$ be the family of all cycles with length at least $k$ and $M_k$ be a matching with $k$ edges.
In this article, we determine $ex_{bip}(b,n, K_{s,t}, \mathcal{C}_{\ge 2n-2k})$ exactly in a connected bipartite graph $G$ with minimum degree $δ(G) \geq r\ge 1$, for $b\ge n\ge 2k+2r$ and $k\in \mathbb{Z}$, which generalizes a theorem of Moon and Moser, a theorem of Jackson and gives an affirmative evidence supporting a conjecture of Adamus and Adamus. As corollaries of our main result, we determine $ex_{bip}(b,n, K_{s,t}, P_{2n-2k})$ and $ex_{bip}(b,n, K_{s,t}, M_{n-k})$ exactly in a connected bipartite graph $G$ with minimum degree $δ(G) \geq r\ge 1$, which generalizes a theorem of Wang. Moreover, we determine $ex(n, K_{s,t}, \mathcal{C}_{\ge k})$ and $ex(n, K_{s,t}, P_{k})$ respectively in a connected
graph $G$ with minimum degree $δ(G) \geq r\ge 1$, which generalizes a theorem of Lu, Yuan and Zhang.

Luo, Tian and Wu [Discrete Math. 345 (4) (2022) 112788] conjectured that for any tree $T$ with bipartition $(X,Y)$, every $k$-connected bipartite graph $G$ with minimum degree at least $k+w$, where $w=\max\{|X|,|Y|\}$, contains a tree $T'\cong T$ such that $κ(G-V(T'))\geq k$. In the paper, we confirm the conjecture when $T$ is an odd path on $m$ vertices. We remind that Yang and Tian \cite{YT2} also prove the same result by a different way.

We work with simple graphs in ZF (Zermelo--Fraenkel set theory without the Axiom of Choice (AC)) and assume that the sets of colors can be either well-orderable or non-well-orderable to prove that the following statements are equivalent to Kőnig Lemma: (a) Any infinite locally finite connected graph G such that the minimum degree of G is greater than k, has a chromatic number for any fixed integer k greater than or equal to 2. (b) Any infinite locally finite connected graph has a chromatic index. (c) Any infinite locally finite connected graph has a distinguishing number. (d) Any infinite locally finite connected graph has a distinguishing index.
Our results strengthen some results of Stawiski from a recent paper on the role of the Axiom of Choice in proper and distinguishing colorings since he assumed that the sets of colors can be well-ordered.
We also formulate new conditions for the existence of irreducible proper coloring, minimal edge cover, maximal matching, and minimal dominating set in connected bipartite graphs and locally finite connected graphs, which are either equivalent to AC or Kőnig Lemma. Moreover, we show that if the Axiom of Choice for families of 2 element sets holds, then the Shelah--Soifer graph has a minimal dominating set.
Connectivity keeping trees in 3-connected bipartite graphs with girth conditions
Luo, Tian and Wu conjectured in 2022 that for any tree $T$ with bipartition $X$ and $Y$, every $k$-connected bipartite graph $G$ with $δ(G) \geq k + t$, where $t = \max\{|X|,|Y |\}$, contains a subtree $T' \cong T$ such that $G-V(T')$ remains $k$-connected. This conjecture has been proved for caterpillars and spiders when $k\leq 3$; and for paths with odd order. In this paper, we prove that this conjecture holds if $G$ is a bipartite graph with $g(G)\geq diam(T)-1$ and $k\leq 3$, where $g(G)$ and $diam(T)$ denote the girth of $G$ and the diameter of $T$, respectively.

Let $G$ be a finite simple graph and let $I_G$ denote its associated toric ideal in the polynomial ring $R$. For each integer $n\geq 2$, we completely determine all the possible values for the tuple $({\rm reg}(R/I_G), {\rm deg}(h_{R/I_G}(t)),{\rm pdim}(R/I_G), {\rm depth}(R/I_G),\dim(R/I_G))$ when $G$ is a connected bipartite graph on $n$ vertices.
Littlewood-Richardson coefficients and the eigenvalues of integral line graphs
We first describe a system of inequalities (Horn's inequalities) that characterize eigenvalues of sums of Hermitian matrices.
When we apply this system for integral Hermitian matrices, one can directly test it by using Littlewood-Richardson coefficients.
In this paper, we apply Horn's inequalities to analysis the eigenvalues of an integral line graph $G$ of a connected bipartite graph. Then we show that the diameter of $G$ is at most $2ω(G)$, where $ω(G)$ is the clique number of $G$. Also using Horn's inequalities, we show that for every odd integer $k\geq 19$, a non-complete $k$-regular Ramanujan graph has an eigenvalue less than $-2$.

We establish various nodal domain theorems for $p$-Laplacians on signed graphs, which unify most of the existing results on nodal domains of graph $p$-Laplacians and arbitrary symmetric matrices. Based on our nodal domain estimates, we obtain a higher order Cheeger inequality that relates the variational eigenvalues of $p$-Laplacians and Atay-Liu's multi-way Cheeger constants on signed graphs. In the particular case of $p=1$, this leads to several identities relating variational eigenvalues and multi-way Cheeger constants. Intriguingly, our approach also leads to new results on usual graphs, including a weak version of Sturm's oscillation theorem for graph $1$-Laplacians and nonexistence of eigenvalues between the largest and second largest variational eigenvalues of $p$-Laplacians with $p>1$ on connected bipartite graphs.

Luo, Tian and Wu (2022) conjectured that for any tree $T$ with bipartition $X$ and $Y$, every $k$-connected bipartite graph $G$ with minimum degree at least $k+t$, where $t=$max$\{|X|,|Y|\}$, contains a tree $T'\cong T$ such that $G-V(T')$ is still $k$-connected. Note that $t=\lceil\frac{m}{2}\rceil$ when the tree $T$ is the path with order $m$. In this paper, we proved that every $k$-connected bipartite graph $G$ with minimum degree at least $k+ \lceil\frac{m+1}{2}\rceil$ contains a path $P$ of order $m$ such that $G-V(P)$ remains $k$-connected. This shows that the conjecture is true for paths with odd order. And for paths with even order, the minimum degree bound in this paper is the bound in the conjecture plus one.

We obtain first order linear partial differential equations which are satisfied by exponential generating functions of two variables for the number of connected bipartite graphs with given Betti number. By solving these equations inductively, we obtain the explicit form of generating functions and derive the asymptotic behavior of their coefficients. We also introduce a family of basic graphs to classify connected bipartite graphs and give another expression of the generating functions as the sum over basic graphs of rational functions of those for the number of labeled bipartite rooted spanning trees.

A conjecture of Luo, Tian and Wu (2022) says that for every positive integer $k$ and every finite tree $T$ with bipartition $X$ and $Y$ (denote $t = \max\{|X|,|Y |\})$, every $k$-connected bipartite graph $G$ with $δ(G) \geq k + t$ contains a subtree $T' \cong T$ such that $κ(G-V (T')) \geq k$. In this paper, we confirm this conjecture for caterpillars when $k=3$ and spiders when $k\leq 3$.

Barnette's Conjecture claims that all cubic, 3-connected, planar, bipartite graphs are Hamiltonian. We give a translation of this conjecture into the matching-theoretic setting. This allows us to relax the requirement of planarity to give the equivalent conjecture that all cubic, 3-connected, Pfaffian, bipartite graphs are Hamiltonian.
A graph, other than the path of length three, is a brace if it is bipartite and any two disjoint edges are part of a perfect matching. Our perspective allows us to observe that Barnette's Conjecture can be reduced to cubic, planar braces. We show a similar reduction to braces for cubic, 3-connected, bipartite graphs regarding four stronger versions of Hamiltonicity. Note that in these cases we do not need planarity. As a practical application of these results, we provide some supplements to a generation procedure for cubic, 3-connected, planar, bipartite graphs discovered by Holton et al. [Hamiltonian Cycles in Cubic 3-Connected Bipartite Planar Graphs, JCTB, 1985]. These allow us to check whether a graph we generated is a brace.
On coefficients of the interior and exterior polynomials
The interior polynomial and the exterior polynomial are generalizations of valuations on $(1/ξ,1)$ and $(1,1/η)$ of the Tutte polynomial $T_G(x,y)$ of graphs to hypergraphs, respectively. The pair of hypergraphs induced by a connected bipartite graph are abstract duals and are proved to have the same interior polynomial, but may have different exterior polynomials. The top of the HOMFLY polynomial of a special alternating link coincides with the interior polynomial of the pair of hypergraphs induced by the Seifert graph of the link. Let $G=(V\cup E, \varepsilon)$ be a connected bipartite graph. In this paper, we mainly study the coefficients of the interior and exterior polynomials. We prove that the interior polynomial of a connected bipartite graph is interpolating. We strengthen the known result on the degree of the interior polynomial for connected bipartite graphs with 2-vertex cuts in $V$ or $E$. We prove that interior polynomials for a family of balanced bipartite graphs are monic and the interior polynomial of any connected bipartite graph can be written as a linear combination of interior polynomials of connected balanced bipartite graphs. The exterior polynomial of a hypergraph is also proved to be interpolating. It is known that the coefficient of the linear term of the interior polynomial is the nullity of the bipartite graph, we obtain a `dual' result on the coefficient of the linear term of the exterior polynomial: if $G-e$ is connected for each $e\in E$, then the coefficient of the linear term of the exterior polynomial is $|V|-1$. Interior and exterior polynomials for some families of bipartite graphs are computed.

For a simple connected graph $G$ of order $n$ having distance Laplacian eigenvalues $ ρ^{L}_{1}\geq ρ^{L}_{2}\geq \cdots \geq ρ^{L}_{n}$, the distance Laplacian energy $DLE(G)$ is defined as $DLE(G)=\sum_{i=1}^{n}\left|ρ^{L}_i-\frac{2 W(G)}{n}\right|$, where $W(G)$ is the Wiener index of $G$. We obtain a relationship between the Laplacian energy and distance Laplacian energy for graphs with diameter 2. We obtain lower bounds for the distance Laplacian energy $DLE(G)$ in terms of the order $n$, the Wiener index $W(G)$, independence number, vertex connectivity number and other given parameters. We characterize the extremal graphs attaining these bounds. We show that the complete bipartite graph has the minimum distance Laplacian energy among all connected bipartite graphs and complete split graph has the minimum distance Laplacian energy among all connected graphs with given independence number. Further, we obtain the distance Laplacian spectrum of the join of a graph with the union of two other graphs. We show that the graph $K_{k}\bigtriangledown(K_{t}\cup K_{n-k-t}), 1\leq t \leq \lfloor\frac{n-k}{2}\rfloor $, has the minimum distance Laplacian energy among all connected graphs with vertex connectivity $k$. We conclude this paper with a discussion on trace norm of a matrix and the importance of our results in the theory of trace norm of the matrix $D^L(G)-\frac{2W(G)}{n}I_n$.
On Distribution of Laplacian Eigenvalues of Graphs
The work in this thesis concerns the investigation of eigenvalues of the Laplacian matrix, normalized Laplacian matrix, signless Laplacian matrix and distance signless Laplacian matrix of graphs. In Chapter 1, we present a brief introduction of spectral graph theory with some definitions.
Chapter $2$ deals with the sum of $ k $ largest Laplacian eigenvalues $ S_{k}(G) $ of graph $ G $ and Brouwer's conjecture. We obtain the upper bounds for $ S_{k}(G) $ for some classes of graphs and use them to verify Brouwer's conjecture for these classes of graphs. Also, we prove Brouwer's conjecture for more general classes of graphs.
In Chapter $3$, we investigate the Laplacian eigenvalues of graphs and the Laplacian energy conjecture for trees. We prove the Laplacian energy conjecture completely for trees of diameter $ 4 $. Further, we prove this conjecture for all trees having at most $ \frac{9n}{25}-2 $ non-pendent vertices. Also, we obtain the sufficient conditions for the truth of conjecture for trees of order $ n $.
In Chapter $4$, we determine the normalized Laplacian spectrum of the joined union of regular graphs and obtain the spectrum of some well known graphs. As consequences of joined union, we obtain the normalized Laplacian spectrum of power graphs associated to finite cyclic groups.
In Chapter $5$, we find the distance signless Laplacian spectrum of regular graphs and zero-divisor graphs associated to finite commutative ring. Also, we find the bounds for spectral radius of generalized distance matrix. Further, we obtain the generalized distance energy for bipartite graphs and trees. We prove that the complete bipartite graph has minimum generalized distance energy among all connected bipartite graphs. Besides, for $ α\in \big(0, \frac{2n}{3n-2}\big) $, we show that the star graph has minimum generalized distance energy among all trees.

On tripartite common graphs

A graph H is common if the number of monochromatic copies of H in a 2-edge-colouring of the complete graph is minimised by the random colouring. Burr and Rosta, extending a famous conjecture by Erdos, conjectured that every graph is common. The conjectures by Erdos and by Burr and Rosta were disproved by Thomason and by Sidorenko, respectively, in the late 1980s. Collecting new examples for common graphs had not seen much progress since then, although very recently, a few more graphs are verified to be common by the flag algebra method or the recent progress on Sidorenko's conjecture.
Our contribution here is to give a new class of tripartite common graphs. The first example class is so-called triangle-trees, which generalises two theorems by Sidorenko and answers a question by Jagger, Šťovíček, and Thomason from 1996. We also prove that, somewhat surprisingly, given any tree T, there exists a triangle-tree such that the graph obtained by adding T as a pendant tree is still common. Furthermore, we show that adding arbitrarily many apex vertices to any connected bipartite graph on at most five vertices give a common graph.

In 2010, Mader [W. Mader, Connectivity keeping paths in $k$-connected graphs, J. Graph Theory 65 (2010) 61-69.] proved that every $k$-connected graph $G$ with minimum degree at least $\lfloor\frac{3k}{2}\rfloor+m-1$ contains a path $P$ of order $m$ such that $G-V(P)$ is still $k$-connected. In this paper, we consider similar problem for bipartite graphs, and prove that every $k$-connected bipartite graph $G$ with minimum degree at least $k+m$ contains a path $P$ of order $m$ such that $G-V(P)$ is still $k$-connected.
