New Perfect Nonlinear Functions and Their Semifields
In this paper, two new classes of perfect nonlinear functions over $\mathbb{F}_{p^{2m}}$ are proposed, where $p$ is an odd prime. Furthermore, we investigate the nucleus of the corresponding semifields of these functions and show that the semifields are not isotopic to all the known semifields. Particularly, the new perfect nonlinear functions are CCZ-inequivalent to other classes in general.

Almost 10 years ago, Impagliazzo and Kabanets (2010) gave a new combinatorial proof of Chernoff's bound for sums of bounded independent random variables. Unlike previous methods, their proof is constructive. This means that it provides an efficient randomized algorithm for the following task: given a set of Boolean random variables whose sum is not concentrated around its expectation, find a subset of statistically dependent variables. However, the algorithm of Impagliazzo and Kabanets (2010) is given only for the Boolean case. On the other hand, the general proof technique works also for real-valued random variables, even though for this case, Impagliazzo and Kabanets (2010) obtain a concentration bound that is slightly suboptimal.
Herein, we revisit both these issues and show that it is relatively easy to extend the Impagliazzo-Kabanets algorithm to real-valued random variables and to improve the corresponding concentration bound by a constant factor.

We study the minimum spanning tree problem on the complete graph $K_n$ where an edge $e$ has a weight $W_e$ and a cost $C_e$, each of which is an independent copy of the random variable $U^γ$ where $γ\leq 1$ and $U$ is the uniform $[0,1]$ random variable. There is also a constraint that the spanning tree $T$ must satisfy $C(T)\leq c_0$. We establish, for a range of values for $c_0,γ$, the asymptotic value of the optimum weight via the consideration of a dual problem.
Global offensive $k$-alliances in digraphs

In this paper, we initiate the study of global offensive $k$-alliances in digraphs. Given a digraph $D=(V(D),A(D))$, a global offensive $k$-alliance in a digraph $D$ is a subset $S\subseteq V(D)$ such that every vertex outside of $S$ has at least one in-neighbor from $S$ and also at least $k$ more in-neighbors from $S$ than from outside of $S$, by assuming $k$ is an integer lying between two minus the maximum in-degree of $D$ and the maximum in-degree of $D$. The global offensive $k$-alliance number $γ_{k}^{o}(D)$ is the minimum cardinality among all global offensive $k$-alliances in $D$. In this article we begin the study of the global offensive $k$-alliance number of digraphs. For instance, we prove that finding the global offensive $k$-alliance number of digraphs $D$ is an NP-hard problem for any value $k\in \{2-Δ^-(D),\dots,Δ^-(D)\}$ and that it remains NP-complete even when restricted to bipartite digraphs when we consider the non-negative values of $k$ given in the interval above. Based on these facts, lower bounds on $γ_{k}^{o}(D)$ with characterizations of all digraphs attaining the bounds are given in this work. We also bound this parameter for bipartite digraphs from above. For the particular case $k=1$, an immediate result from the definition shows that $γ(D)\leq γ_{1}^{o}(D)$ for all digraphs $D$, in which $γ(D)$ stands for the domination number of $D$. We show that these two digraph parameters are the same for some infinite families of digraphs like rooted trees and contrafunctional digraphs. Moreover, we show that the difference between $γ_{1}^{o}(D)$ and $γ(D)$ can be arbitrary large for directed trees and connected functional digraphs.

We prove that the $\frac12$-snowflake of a finite-dimensional normed space $(X,\|\cdot\|_X)$ embeds into a Hilbert space with quadratic average distortion $$O\Big(\sqrt{\log \mathrm{dim}(X)}\Big).$$ We deduce from this (optimal) statement that if an $n$-vertex expander embeds with average distortion $D\geqslant 1$ into $(X,\|\cdot\|_X)$, then necessarily $\mathrm{dim}(X)\geqslant n^{Ω(1/D)}$, which is sharp by the work of Johnson, Lindenstrauss and Schechtman (1987). This improves over the previously best-known bound $\mathrm{dim}(X)\gtrsim (\log n)^2/D^2$ of Linial, London and Rabinovich (1995), strengthens a theorem of Matoušek (1996) which resolved questions of Johnson and Lindenstrauss (1982), Bourgain (1985) and Arias-de-Reyna and Rodr{í}guez-Piazza (1992), and answers negatively a question that was posed (for algorithmic purposes) by Andoni, Nguyen, Nikolov, Razenshteyn and Waingarten (2016).
Palindromic Ziv-Lempel and Crochemore Factorizations of $m$-Bonacci Infinite Words
We introduce a variation of the Ziv-Lempel and Crochemore factorizations of words by requiring each factor to be a palindrome. We compute these factorizations for the Fibonacci word, and more generally, for all $m$-bonacci words.
On self-conjugate $(s, s+1,\ldots, s+k)$-core partitions
Simultaneous core partitions have been widely studied since Anderson's work on the enumeration of $(s,t)$-core partitions. Amdeberhan and Leven showed that the number of $(s,s+1, \ldots, s+k)$-core partitions is equal to the number of $(s, k)$-Dyck paths. In this paper, we prove that self-conjugate $(s,s+1, \ldots, s+k)$-core partitions are equinumerous with symmetric $(s, k)$-Dyck paths, confirming a conjecture posed by Cho, Huh and Sohn.
Some enumerative properties of a class of Fibonacci-like cubes
A filter lattice is a distributive lattice formed by all filters of a poset in the anti-inclusion order. We study the combinatorial properties of the Hasse diagrams of filter lattices of certain posets, so called Fibonacci-like cubes, in this paper. Several enumerative polynomials, e.g.\ rank generating function, cube polynomials and degree sequence polynomials are obtained. Some of these results relate to Fibonacci sequence and Padovan sequence.

Hindman proved that, whenever the set $\mathbb{N}$ of naturals is finitely colored, there must exist non-constant monochromatic solution of the equation $a+b=cd$. In this paper we extend this result for dense subsemigroups of $((0, \infty), +)$ to near zero.
An algorithmic search for $\mathcal{A}$-annihilated classes in the Dyer-Lashof algebra and $H_*QS^0$ I. Closed form for low lengths and tables in low dimensions
The aim of this work is to publicise some computational results involving tables which contain $\mathcal{A}$-annihilated monomials, excluding square classes, in the Dyer-Lashof algebra and $H_*QS^0$; our computations go up to dimension $1.1\times 10^7$ but the tables in this paper only announce results up to dimension $2^{17}=131072$ and full tables would be available upon request. The theoretical background for our computations is provided by work of Curtis \cite{Curtis} and Wellington \cite{Wellington} on the $\mathcal{A}$-module structure of the Dyer-Lashof algebra as well as $H_*QS^0$. It seems to us that there is a workable algorithm to do these computations which we plan to announce in a future work, partly to avoid making this paper longer than it is. We hope to receive feedback from the experts on these computations and make our algorithm available as soon as we can. We hope that these tables provide a source for researchers in the field, as well as a pool of data to analyse the behaviour of these sequences, their distributions and other asymptotic behaviours. The problem of computing spherical classes in $H_*QS^0$ as well as the symmetric and non-symmetric hit problems have been our main motivations to pursue this project.
Combinatorics of faithfully balanced modules
We study and classify faithfully balanced modules for the algebra of lower triangular $n$ by $n$ matrices. The theory extends known results about tilting modules, which are classified by binary trees, and counted with the Catalan numbers. The number of faithfully balanced modules is a $2$-factorial number. Among them are $n!$ modules with $n$ indecomposable summands, which can be classified by interleaved binary trees or by increasing binary trees.
The critical window in random digraphs
We consider the component structure of the random digraph $D(n,p)$ inside the critical window $p = n^{-1} + λn^{-4/3}$.We show that the largest component $\mathcal{C}_1$ has size of order $n^{1/3}$ in this range. In particular we give explicit bounds on the tail probabilities of $|\mathcal{C}_1|n^{-1/3}$.
Some Structure Properties of Finite Normal-Form Games
Game theory provides a mathematical framework for analysing strategic situations involving at least two players. Normal-form games model situations where the players simultaneously pick their moves. In this thesis we explore the strategic structure of finite normal-form games.
We look at three notions of isomorphisms between games, the structural properties that they preserve and under what conditions they are met. We also look at various notions of symmetric games, under what conditions they are met, the structural properties that these notions capture, how to identify them and how to construct them.

Uncountable dichromatic number without short directed cycles
A. Hajnal and P. Erdős proved that a graph with uncountable chromatic number cannot avoid short cycles, it must contain for example $ C_4 $ (among other obligatory subgraphs). It was shown recently by D. T. Soukup that, in contrast of the undirected case, it is consistent that for any $ n<ω$ there exists an uncountably dichromatic digraph without directed cycles shorter than $ n $. He asked if it is provable already in ZFC. We answer his question positively by constructing for every infinite cardinal $ κ$ and $ n<ω$ a digraph of size $ 2^κ $ with dichromatic number at least $ κ^{+} $ which does not contain directed cycles of length less than $ n $ as a subdigraph.
Asymptotic normality of the major index on standard tableaux
We consider the distribution of the major index on standard tableaux of arbitrary straight shape and certain skew shapes. We use cumulants to classify all possible limit laws for any sequence of such shapes in terms of a simple auxiliary statistic, aft, generalizing earlier results of Canfield--Janson--Zeilberger, Chen--Wang--Wang, and others. These results can be interpreted as giving a very precise description of the distribution of irreducible representations in different degrees of coinvariant algebras of certain complex reflection groups. We conclude with some conjectures concerning unimodality, log-concavity, and local limit theorems.
On $q$-nearly bent Boolean functions
For each non-constant Boolean function $q$, Klapper introduced the notion of $q$-transforms of Boolean functions. The {\em $q$-transform} of a Boolean function $f$ is related to the Hamming distances from $f$ to the functions obtainable from $q$ by nonsingular linear change of basis.
In this work we discuss the existence of $q$-nearly bent functions, a new family of Boolean functions characterized by the $q$-transform. Let $q$ be a non-affine Boolean function. We prove that any balanced Boolean functions (linear or non-linear) are $q$-nearly bent if $q$ has weight one, which gives a positive answer to an open question (whether there exist non-affine $q$-nearly bent functions) proposed by Klapper. We also prove a necessary condition for checking when a function isn't $q$-nearly bent.
Total dominator coloring of circulant graphs $C_n(a,b)$
The circulant graph $C_n(S)$ with connection set $S\subseteq \{1,2,\cdots,n\}$ is the graph with vertex set $V=\{1,\ldots, n\}$ and two vertices $x,y$ are adjacent if $|x-y|\in S$. In this paper, we will calculate the total dominator chromatic number of the circulant graph $C_n(\{a,b\})$ when $n\geq 6$, $gcd(a,n)=1$ and $ a^{-1}b\equiv 3 \pmod{n}$.
$16$-vertex graphs with automorphism groups $A_{4}$ and $A_{5}$ from icosahedron
The article deals with the problem of finding vertex-minimal graphs with a given automorphism group. We exhibit two undirected $16$-vertex graphs having automorphism groups $A_{4}$ and $A_{5}$. It improves the Babai's bound for $A_{4}$ and the graphical regular representation bound for $A_{5}$. The graphs are constructed using projectivisation of the vertex-face graph of icosahedron.
An Ore-type condition for existence of two disjoint cycles
Let $n_{1}$ and $n_{2}$ be two integers with $n_{1},n_{2}\geq3$ and $G$ a graph of order $n=n_{1}+n_{2}$. As a generalization of Ore's degree condition for the existence of Hamilton cycle in $G$, El-Zahar proved that if $δ(G)\geq \left\lceil\frac{n_{1}}{2}\right\rceil+\left\lceil\frac{n_{2}}{2}\right\rceil$ then $G$ contains two disjoint cycles of length $n_{1}$ and $n_{2}$. Recently, Yan et. al considered the problem by extending the degree condition to degree sum condition and proved that if $d(u)+d(v)\geq n+4$ for any pair of non-adjacent vertices $u$ and $v$ of $G$, then $G$ contains two disjoint cycles of length $n_{1}$ and $n_{2}$. They further asked whether the degree sum condition can be improved to $d(u)+d(v)\geq n+2$. In this paper, we give a positive answer to this question. Our result also generalizes El-Zahar's result when $n_{1}$ and $n_{2}$ are both odd.
