Comments on "New generating relations for products of two Laguerre polynomials"
By utilizing a two-dimensional extension of a very general series transform given by Bailey, Exton [Indian J. pure appl. Math. 24 (6) (1993), 401-408] deduced a very general double generating relation of a product of a pair of Laguerre polynomials and obtained a number of useful relations with elementary functions, Bessel functions, Hermite polynomials and single series expansions of pairs of Laguerre polynomials. Unfortunately, some of the results given by Exon contain errors and thus this is the aim of this short note to provide the corrected form of these results.

The purpose of this paper is to introduce and investigate a new unification of unified family of Apostol-type polynomials and numbers based on results given in [24] and [25]. Also, we derive some properties for these polynomials and obtain some relationships between the Jacobi polynomials, Laguerre polynomials, Hermite polynomials, Stirling numbers and some other types of generalized polynomials.

Recently, Kenyon and Wilson introduced Dyck tilings, which are certain tilings of the region between two Dyck paths. The enumeration of Dyck tilings is related with hook formulas for forests and the combinatorics of Hermite polynomials. The first goal of this work is to give an alternative point of view on Dyck tilings by making use of the weak order and the Bruhat order on permutations. Then we introduce two natural generalizations: $k$-Dyck tilings and symmetric Dyck tilings. We are led to consider Stirling permutations, and define an analog of the Bruhat order on them. We show that certain families of $k$-Dyck tilings are in bijection with intervals in this order. We also enumerate symmetric Dyck tilings.
On $q$-analogs of some integrals over GUE
Statistics over the Gaussian unitary ensemble and the Wishart ensemble of random matrices often have nice closed-form expressions. These are related to multivariate extensions of the Hermite, Laguerre, and Jacobi polynomials, which often occur in the study of these ensembles.
In the paper, we develop a formal $q$-analog of the Gaussian unitary ensemble, using $q$-Hermite polynomials and coefficient extraction instead of integration. This way we derive $q$-analogs for many well-known eigenvalue statistics. One of these is related to the Harer-Zagier formula, which uses a matrix integral to count the number of unicellular maps on $n$ vertices by genus.
A Note on Extended Binomial Coefficients
We study the distribution of the extended binomial coefficients by deriving a complete asymptotic expansion with uniform error terms. We obtain the expansion from a local central limit theorem and we state all coefficients explicitly as sums of Hermite polynomials and Bernoulli numbers.
Polynomial Triangles Revisited
A polynomial triangle is an array whose inputs are the coefficients in integral powers of a polynomial. Although polynomial coefficients have appeared in several works, there is no systematic treatise on this topic. In this paper we plan to fill this gap. We describe some aspects of these arrays, which generalize similar properties of the binomial coefficients. Some combinatorial models enumerated by polynomial coefficients, including lattice paths model, spin chain model and scores in a drawing game, are introduced. Several known binomial identities are then extended. In addition, we calculate recursively generating functions of column sequences. Interesting corollaries follow from these recurrence relations such as new formulae for the Fibonacci numbers and Hermite polynomials in terms of trinomial coefficients. Finally, properties of the entropy density function that characterizes polynomial coefficients in the thermodynamical limit are studied in details.

We give three interpretations of the number $b$ of orbits of the Borel subgroup of upper triangular matrices on the variety $\ms{X}$ of complete quadrics. First, we show that $b$ is equal to the number of standard Young tableaux on skew-diagrams. Then, we relate $b$ to certain values of a modified Hermite polynomial. Third, we relate $b$ to a certain cell decomposition on $\ms{X}$ previously studied by De Concini, Springer, and Strickland. Using these, we give asymptotic estimates for $b$ as the dimension of the quadrics increases.
Around Poisson--Mehler summation formula
We study polynomials in $x$ and $y$ of degree $n+m:\allowbreak \{Q_{m,n}(x,y|t,q)\}_{n,m\geq 0}$ that appeared recently in the following identity: $γ_{m,n}(x,y|t,q) \allowbreak =\allowbreak γ_{0,0}(x,y|t,q) \allowbreak Q_{m,n}(x,y|t,q) $ where $γ_{m,n}(x,y|t,q) \allowbreak =\allowbreak \sum_{i\geq 0}\frac{t^{i}}{[i]_{q}}H_{i+n}(x|q) H_{m+i}(y|q)$, $\allowbreak $ $\{H_{n}(x|q)}_{n\geq -1}$ are the so-called $q-$% Hermite polynomials (qH). In particular we show that the spaces $span\{Q_{i,n-i}(x,y|t,q) :i=0,...,n\}_{n\geq 0}$ are orthogonal with respect to a certain measure (two-dimensional $(t,q)-$Normal distribution) on the square $\{(x,y):|x|,|y|\leq 2/\sqrt{1-q}\} . $ We study structure of these polynomials expressing them with the help of the so-called Al-Salam--Chihara (ASC) polynomials and showing that they are rational functions of parameters $t$ and $q$. We use them in various infinite expansions that can be viewed as simple generalization of the Poisson-Mehler summation formula. Further we use them in the expansion of the reciprocal of the right hand side of the Poisson-Mehler formula.

By means of a symbolic method, a new family of time-space harmonic polynomials with respect to Lévy processes is given. The coefficients of these polynomials involve a formal expression of Lévy processes by which many identities are stated. We show that this family includes classical families of polynomials such as Hermite polynomials. Poisson-Charlier polynomials result to be a linear combinations of these new polynomials, when they have the property to be time-space harmonic with respect to the compensated Poisson process. The more general class of Lévy-Sheffer polynomials is recovered as a linear combination of these new polynomials, when they are time-space harmonic with respect to Lévy processes of very general form. We show the role played by cumulants of Lévy processes so that connections with boolean and free cumulants are also stated.

We review properties of the $q-$Hermite polynomials and indicate their links with the Chebyshev, Rogers--Szegö, Al-Salam--Chihara, continuous $q-$% utraspherical polynomials. In particular we recall the connection coefficients between these families of polynomials. We also present some useful and important finite and infinite expansions involving polynomials of these families including symmetric and non-symmetric kernels. In the paper we collect scattered throughout literature useful but not widely known facts concerning these polynomials. It is based on 43 positions of predominantly recent literature.
Probabilistic Representation of Bernoulli, Euler and Carlitz Hermite Polynomials
We revisit in a probabilistic framework the umbral approach of Bernoulli, Euler and Carlitz Hermite polynomials by Gessel [1].
Airy-heat functions, Hermite and higher order Hermite generating functions
In this note we discuss the relationship between the generating functions of some Hermite polynomials $H$, $ \sum\limits_{j=0}^\infty H_{j\cdot n}(u) z^n/n!$, generalized Airy-Heat equations $(1/2π)\int_{-\infty}^{+\infty}\exp\{a(iλ)^n-(1/2)λ^2t+iλx\}dλ$, higher order PDE's $(\partial u/\partial t)(t,x)=a(\partial^nu/\partial x^n)(t,x)+(1/2)s(\partial^2u/\partial x^2)(t,x)$, and generating functions of higher order Hermite polynomials $H^{(n)}$: $\sum\limits_{j=0}^\infty H^{(n)}_j(v)x^j/j!$. In particular, we show that under some conditions, these problems are equivalent.

Kasraoui, Stanton and Zeng, and Kim, Stanton and Zeng introduced certain $q$-analogues of Laguerre and Charlier polynomials. The moments of these orthogonal polynomials have combinatorial models in terms of crossings in permutations and set partitions. The aim of this article is to prove simple formulas for the moments of the $q$-Laguerre and the $q$-Charlier polynomials, in the style of the Touchard-Riordan formula (which gives the moments of some $q$-Hermite polynomials, and also the distribution of crossings in matchings). Our method mainly consists in the enumeration of weighted Motzkin paths, which are naturally associated with the moments. Some steps are bijective, in particular we describe a decomposition of paths which generalises a previous construction of Penaud for the case of the Touchard-Riordan formula. There are also some non-bijective steps using basic hypergeometric series, and continued fractions or, alternatively, functional equations.
Some operator identities related to $q-$Hermite polynomials

The asymptotic properties of Eulerian numbers and refined Eulerian numbers: A Spline perspective
In this paper, the asymptotic formulas for Eulerian numbers, refined Eulerian numbers and the coefficients of descent polynomials are obtained directly from the spline interpretations of these numbers. Having related these numbers directly to B-splines [15], we can take advantage of many powerful spline techniques to derive various results of these numbers. The asymptotic formulas for the Eulerian numbers Ad;k agree with the previously known results which were given by L. Carlitz et al.(1972)[2] and S.Tanny (1973) [18], but the convergence order is much better. We also give the asymptotic representations of refined Eulerian numbers which is in terms of the Hermite polynomials.

Two well-known $q$-Hermite polynomials are the continuous and discrete $q$-Hermite polynomials. In this paper we consider a new family of $q$-Hermite polynomials and prove several curious properties about these polynomials. One striking property is the connection with $q$-Fibonacci and $q$-Lucas polynomials. The latter relation yields a generalization of the Touchard-Riordan formula.

We develop a combinatorial model of the associated Hermite polynomials and their moments, and prove their orthogonality with a sign-reversing involution. We find combinatorial interpretations of the moments as complete matchings, connected complete matchings, oscillating tableaux, and rooted maps and show weight-preserving bijections between these objects. Several identities, linearization formulas, the moment generating function, and a second combinatorial model are also derived.
The Cauchy Operator for Basic Hypergeometric Series

We introduce the Cauchy augmentation operator for basic hypergeometric series. Heine's ${}_2φ_1$ transformation formula and Sears' ${}_3φ_2$ transformation formula can be easily obtained by the symmetric property of some parameters in operator identities. The Cauchy operator involves two parameters, and it can be considered as a generalization of the operator $T(bD_q)$. Using this operator, we obtain extensions of the Askey-Wilson integral, the Askey-Roy integral, Sears' two-term summation formula, as well as the $q$-analogues of Barnes' lemmas. Finally, we find that the Cauchy operator is also suitable for the study of the bivariate Rogers-Szegö polynomials, or the continuous big $q$-Hermite polynomials.
The Bivariate Rogers-Szegö Polynomials

We present an operator approach to deriving Mehler's formula and the Rogers formula for the bivariate Rogers-Szegö polynomials $h_n(x,y|q)$. The proof of Mehler's formula can be considered as a new approach to the nonsymmetric Poisson kernel formula for the continuous big $q$-Hermite polynomials $H_n(x;a|q)$ due to Askey, Rahman and Suslov. Mehler's formula for $h_n(x,y|q)$ involves a ${}_3φ_2$ sum and the Rogers formula involves a ${}_2φ_1$ sum. The proofs of these results are based on parameter augmentation with respect to the $q$-exponential operator and the homogeneous $q$-shift operator in two variables. By extending recent results on the Rogers-Szegö polynomials $h_n(x|q)$ due to Hou, Lascoux and Mu, we obtain another Rogers-type formula for $h_n(x,y|q)$. Finally, we give a change of base formula for $H_n(x;a|q)$ which can be used to evaluate some integrals by using the Askey-Wilson integral.
